Venus goes retrograde at 7:33 am PDT, 10:33 am EDT, 3:33 pm Greenwich on May 15 at 24 Gemini. This will impact us all for quite a while, given that Venus is conjunct the 2011 Eclipse points and Jupiter will be transiting the zone of this Venus retrograde over the next year, also boosting the influence of those 2011 Eclipses.

Today is the 48th birthday of Stephen Colbert, razor witted television maven of "truthiness," born May 13, 1964. His remarkable blend of playful satire, irony, faux right wing reasoning and deliberately obtuse self-centered egomania brings a refreshing humor to America's airwaves through "The Colbert Report" thanks to Comedy Central.

Well, I sure am glad the world won’t come to an end in December 2012! (/sarcasm). It seems that some archeologists have found a “Mayan calendar workshop” that documents time beyond 2012, showing there will be “baktuns” beyond the end of this one extending for thousands and millions of years into the future.

Today is a huge tribute to a Taurus rock 'n roll trailblazer, Ricky Nelson. He bridged the gap between early Rockabilly Rock and Roll and the great American Top 40 music machine, and was enormously popular for years. From the Rick Nelson website, a quote from Bob Dylan: "He sang his songs calm and steady like he was in the middle of a storm, men hurling past him. His voice was sort of mysterious and made you fall into a certain mood." Today we have lots of videos!

This is one of the saddest things that could ever happen. I know some people just don’t get that creatures are also part of our One Life, but they are. One of the “Sacred Ones” has just been murdered. This is NOT a good sign of things to come. I sure do wish I didn’t have to report this.

A Full Moon represents a potentially enlightened state, where the Moon, which symbolizes form, perfectly reflects the greater light of the Sun. It marks a time when the seeds of the previous New Moon begin to manifest. The Full Moon of Sun in Taurus and Moon in Scorpio is a very special lunation, since for millennia it has been celebrated as marking the birth and enlightenment of the Buddha, said to be the first human to attain full higher awareness and then teach the truths that show all sentient Beings how to transcend suffering.

Link Wray was one of the pioneer guitarists of rock and roll. Black leather jacket, sunglasses and a slicked back ducktail, he set the standard for early raunchy guitar slinging. Without Link Wray, rock and roll might never have survived the transition from the late 50s into the 60s, and certainly wouldn’t sound much like it has these past 50 years!
