From The Magic of Space, for those who haven't read it before (and even if you have!), a thought about who we really are:
You send out to others a radiation of your own Inner Flame -- the Light. No words exist which can exactly express this Inner Flame -- it is one of the most silently apparent of possessions. It travels from heart to heart in its own channel of expression and exchange. You always sense it -- even those sense it who do not acknowledge it with anything better than mental sophistication.

Well, the storm zone I spoke of in this article stretched me and many I know to the max! I had more difficulties to deal with than any time in many years, and while it abated somewhat, we’re all still in the middle of an astrological minefield. Tomorrow Mercury goes retrograde. Read about it at this link. More fun to follow as Uranus goes stationary direct in a few days, always a time of upheaval and major change. Couple that with the on-going triseptile between Saturn and Uranus, and you may expect things to stay very weird for the next few weeks.

While checking out the intersections of fate and free will, one of the greatest ancient spiritual books ever written offers a reminder of some universals all of us go through. These are the inevitable result of our process of evolving as we discover what is really true for us versus what is only conditionally true. Through our challenges and crises, we find “truth” transforming according to our level of awareness and need for greater unconditional understanding freed from fear. The challenges we face and what we learn through crises help us learn to choose, decide, and respond. This affects our future.

In this part two of the article we'll explore more about this phenomenon that occurs three weeks at a time three times a year. At the end of this article I have included a table so you can find out which house(s) this November-December 2005 Mercury retrograde period falls in relative to your Sun or rising sign. Consult
this article to find out how this transit will affect you personally as a result of Mercury retrograding through the houses in your chart. Like all
Mercury retrograde periods, these three weeks offer a chance to reorganize in the areas of our life ruled by Mercury. These are the houses of your chart ruled by Gemini or Virgo, any planets in these signs in your chart, and the house occupied by your natal, progressed, or solar return Mercury.

This article is a brief sketch of several possible ways Mercury retrograde in the different houses of the birthchart could manifest. Obviously there are thousands of ways this influence could manifest based on what houses Mercury rules in the birth chart, what sign(s) and decans it retrogrades through and what aspects it makes, all of which make a huge difference in what manifests and why. Though all of these are important factors, a primary way we can know what's up and how to deal with it is through knowing the house it falls in. By knowing the house(s) affected, we can know the arenas of life we can expect to see “go retrograde,” or the sector of our outer world of affairs on which we will get a new point of view.

This Mercury retrograde period starts November 13 (Nov 14 for EST and points east) and ends December 3 (Dec 4 in Europe and points east). This retrograde moves from 11 Sagittarius back to 25 Scorpio, with the inferior conjunction between Mercury and the Sun occurring November 24 (Nov 25 in east Asia and east) at 3 Sagittarius. The degree is "Two men playing chess," symbolizing a "recreation of a world of manifestation through symbols and intelligence," "the transcendent ritualization of conflict," and the need to focus on what's important and the ability to plan many moves ahead.

The following are three Truths in human life. These truths apply equally to all of us, regardless of time, space, cultural, gender, age, or historical distinctions. For years I've tried to think of another human truth that affects everyone on Earth, without success. If any of you can come up with a fourth truth not derived from one of these three, it’ll be a great launch pad for an interesting discussion. And in the spirit of eternal jocularity, or the Divine Play that the Vedic scholars call "Lela," I’ll even entertain entertaining suggestions. These have been put various ways, they're all pretty simple and straightforward, and they have nothing to do with religion or local belief systems.

I’ve always felt that we take a lot of our curious reality more seriously than we need to. And though I've had my share of ups and downs (like we all have), I also believe that there’s nothing so serious here on Earth that it warrants us being in a non-loving state. We can’t like everything, but we must learn to love our life and the experiences the best we’re able. Since we like pleasure and avoid pain, sometimes it's hard when we have difficult experiences to see what they're helping us to learn. Since the planets in our charts symbolize people in our lives, it is easy to see how as we transmute the negative forms of our planets we change the types of relationships we attract. The element of change itself becomes both a driving force in our shifting ways of being with others and a medium through which we can learn when the challenges and breakthroughs are coming, and by that knowledge we can come out of fear and confusion.

We've just entered what is perhaps the most intense storm zone we've encountered for a long time, so be very, very careful as you surf your way through the next 7 days, which will be as tumultuous as anyone could imagine! If things can fragment, they will. If plans can explode, they will. If you're in a position to get caught between equally stubborn, fixed, opposing trends, you will. Of course, it will liberate many from mired conditions that were very unsatisfactory up to now, and this article will explore some of the forces in play, and how best to move through this "fragmentation bomb."
