Aquarius Papers just broke over 500,000 page views, according to the Top 100 at Salon Blogs' referrer rankings. At SiteMeter we're near 490,000 page views, but I didn't start using them until late February 2005, about a year ago this week. I started blogging at Salon in late April, 2004, so the probable number of visitors here is much higher, perhaps even three-quarters of a million page views, since Salon's counter is notoriously inaccurate. But for now, I'll mark the milestone with gratitude that I've been able to offer the ancient craft to so many over the past 20 months. And of course, the next half-million page views should come even quicker. Namaskarams.
Expect a swirl of event, with many lies told and/or busted, thanks to Mercury retrograde in Pisces square Pluto. The devil will be in the details, so if you're worrying about something, check out what you believe you know or were told and try to feel your way into other ways this could be understood, or phrased in a way that concealed something that is creating the nagging doubts or uncertainty or self-criticism. You'll get so clear by the end of the retrograde that you'll know exactly what to do, as long as you don't go overboard with Mars opposed Pluto.
In this part two of the article we'll explore more about this phenomenon that occurs three weeks at a time three times a year. At the end of this article I have included a table so you can find out which house(s) this March 2006 Mercury retrograde period falls in relative to your Sun or rising sign. Consult this article to find out how this transit will affect you personally as a result of Mercury retrograding through the houses in your chart.
This Mercury retrograde period starts March 2 (March 3 for Africa and points east) and ends March 25. This retrograde moves from 27 Pisces back to 14 Pisces, with the inferior conjunction between Mercury and the Sun occurring March 11 (March 12 east of Greenland) at 22 Pisces. This degree is one of "A Prophet Carrying Tablets of the new law is walking down the slopes of Mt. Sinai," symbolizing "the need to bring down to the level of everyday existence the clear realizations made manifest in a great 'peak experience.'" It also tells us of holding ourselves to highest standards to codify new values, and promises "success in meeting the challenge of a new order."
Several important things will be happening in March, so heads up. First and foremost, we have a Mercury retrograde in Pisces upon us shortly, and over the next several days I'll be posting a lot about it. It begins on March 2, so get your affairs in order by February 27 at latest, the sooner the better. Things tend to go backward, fall apart, or get diverted during Mercury retrograde periods, so quickly finish whatever you need to, sign and send out important documents, make plans, and prepare for the usual roundabout stuff to come. This time it's square Pluto, and I'll address more on that in articles I'll post soon.
One aspect of the coming era will be a universal realization of our interdependence. We are all part of one life, one love, one consciousness throughout the world, despite all of the apparent physical, emotional, and mental differences. One of the global spiritual teachings is that we are here to do forms of compassionate service for others. There are many different ways we may serve others without surrendering our integrity or profitting someone or something resulting in the detriment or disadvantage of another. What you are about to read demonstrates a truly compassionate example. Welcome to The Potato Project.
Today I'll offer a one stop shop on some articles posted about this time period that may yield some insights about why things are the way they are. In this article, I included links to the recent Venus retrograde and how it impacted each sign, as well as links to the irrationality of our times, the impact of the Year of the Fire Dog on each sign and in general, Saturn visiting your Ascendant or a planet, how to deal with grief, and overcoming fear. I outline the element balance in this article, timely since Mars leaves Taurus and enters Gemini this Friday, February 17 (Feb 18 east of GMT) and the Sun leaves Aquarius and enters Pisces on February 18 (Feb 19 in Asia). We will all feel a fairly large shift in our Aries, Leo, and Scorpio ruled planets and houses, so check it out.
The Sun is square Mars at present, exact on Sunday February 19, and in strong effect through the Pisces New Moon on February 27 (Feb 28 in Europe and points east), so TAKE IT EASY! If you note a generally annoying impulsiveness or abrasiveness, show practicality, attention to detail, definitely a sense of humor, and open to a wider adventure. It's what's in the air, so move toward a larger life rather than get hassled by the general gear grind of the Sun square Mars. Those who are spoiling for a fight will probably find one. One way to deal with this is to find ways to apply your energies productively, and see if your actions are draining your vitality or feeding it. If you have to turn a corner of some sort, do it, thoughtfully, without haste or aggravation. Decrease tensions, look before you leap, and try not to take offense at thoughtless or unrefined people.
Since this is the day of the year dedicated to lovers, I thought it would be nice to examine some things about that. In mythology, the Lover is one of the six archetypal roles, or Masques, that the personality learns to discover, show to the world, and hopefully elevate beyond the callow superficiality of seductions, whether those of others toward us or the seductions we project to others. In this article, we'll explore some of the symptoms of seductions, and see the difference between healthy affection and seductions that only leave us feeling wounded.
The Full Moon occurred on Sunday, February 12, at 25 degrees of Leo-Aquarius. This will be a fairly powerful Full Moon, fulfilling the promise of the last New Moon at the end of January at 10 Aquarius. This Full Moon will bring us all an adventure, a rebeginning, a renewal, and a whole new level of self-sufficiency by giving us the power to choose what responses we bring forth consciously and volitionally rather than unconsciously and reflexively. The time in front of us is a return of the light, a renewing of the heart, and a time to accept greater heart strength through "hearing the call." We will confront important forks in the road of our destiny, and move into new relationships, activities, vision, and understanding.
Just a reminder that we're in the midst of the Jupiter square Neptune. Since it will be exact for quite a few weeks to come, everyone will be influenced to some degree by this subtle but very powerful aspect. In astrology, I've found that just after an aspect is exact is when the influence seems most powerful, so this will be in evidence for some time to come, since both of these planets move slowly. In fact, Jupiter is slower than usual preparing to go stationary retrograde March 4, 2006, on the same day as the Mercury square Pluto, always an extreme aspect. (It will be more extreme than usual, since Mercury is also going stationary retrograde March 2, just after it squares Pluto for the first time on February 28 - get ready!) Thus the volatility factor will be very high as we approach the end of February, and the beginning of March should show some fairly dramatic events on the world stage.
In a follow up to yesterday's post, I thought I'd give you the Pluto positions of the years leading up to the American and French Revolutions, and how they correspond to our current times. Students of history may be intrigued by parallels in the excesses by King George III and Parliament, and some interestingly similar arguments going on at key years leading up to the revolution, with our current national political and economic dialogues. Expect dramatic things to come, as I believe much has just begun to heat up.
