Just a reminder that we're in the midst of the Jupiter square Neptune. Since it will be exact for quite a few weeks to come, everyone will be influenced to some degree by this subtle but very powerful aspect. In astrology, I've found that just after an aspect is exact is when the influence seems most powerful, so this will be in evidence for some time to come, since both of these planets move slowly. In fact, Jupiter is slower than usual preparing to go stationary retrograde March 4, 2006, on the same day as the Mercury square Pluto, always an extreme aspect. (It will be more extreme than usual, since Mercury is also going stationary retrograde March 2, just after it squares Pluto for the first time on February 28 - get ready!) Thus the volatility factor will be very high as we approach the end of February, and the beginning of March should show some fairly dramatic events on the world stage.

In a follow up to yesterday's post, I thought I'd give you the Pluto positions of the years leading up to the American and French Revolutions, and how they correspond to our current times. Students of history may be intrigued by parallels in the excesses by King George III and Parliament, and some interestingly similar arguments going on at key years leading up to the revolution, with our current national political and economic dialogues. Expect dramatic things to come, as I believe much has just begun to heat up.

Thanks to a friend in a comment stream over at a political blog I know and love, it was suggested that I post something about how many beings born in the past 68 years bear a strong astrological resemblance generationally to America's founding fathers. Today we will explore what's up for generations born since the boomers, and how they correspond to America's founding mothers and fathers. We are in the midst of a long term social and political revolution. Make no mistake, there are forces in our world that are in dynamic flux, and will ultimately result in a whole new world, with new ways of regarding life, form, matter, and each other. These sorts of revolutions take years, even decades to be observed, and there are many different ways that lead to creative change, whether we enjoy or understand them at the time or not.

February accents the air sign Aquarius, where we glimpse a larger world service, a wider view of a greater good for all and a more ideal way to live, individually and collectively. Aquarius is where we see how and with whom we can make a larger contribution, and represents the power of managing our own or others’ energies on various levels of human experience. The light force is still at a minimum, though the days are getting longer, so get everything in place for what you want to see grow rapidly in the near future, when Spring begins anew. Over the next few weeks many old forms are dying, even as new friendships and group work are forming. It's time to find a larger point of view. Aquarius combines the power and authority of Capricorn with a genuine love of humanity to participate in forms of collective betterment.

Within the great dualistic field we live, arising from what is called Maya, or Spirit, we humans are given our five senses and minds to learn through changing conditions how to be fully “divine” in our human-ness. This implies that beyond dualistic frames like “good and bad,” “right and wrong,” there is a place for forms of both harmonious and disharmonious experiences at points in our evolution. It all serves our learning to BE more perfectly our highest aspiration of self-expression, and bring forth more refined and worthy fruits of our various labors in this world. As we understand the dualisms of existence, we have the power to overcome all forms of suffering, and find a joyous enthusiasm of living, knowing we are moving toward an integrated better future.

I wrote this a while ago in response to an email from a client who wondered "Are there any birthdates that are closer to 'good' or 'evil?'" She said "I guess you’d first have to believe that human nature can be evil, so already I’m having trouble asking the question." I thought this interesting question deserved a thoughtful answer, since others have also asked this question.
I believe that we choose to manifest helpful or hurtful behaviors as our planets expose us to cyclic shifts. That's where the free will part of this life comes in. We are all Eternal Beings having human experiences. We have a body, we have our feelings, we have our lower and Higher mind, but we ARE a Soul. Our astrological chart shows that we all have certain things to learn, about ourselves, each other, and all that is.

A New Moon is a conjunction of the Sun and Moon setting into motion seed forms that will blossom over the subsequent weeks. Eclipses are New and Full Moons as well, and we usually have four each year. A New Moon sets a new energy patterns in whatever of our houses it falls, and challenges or builds force within us depending on how it configures with the planets in our charts. The Aquarius New Moon occurred on Janurary 29 at 10 Aquarius. What does this mean for us?
