A dear friend asked via email “Don’t know if this is outside the scope of what you want to do at the a Aquarius Papers, but if you ever felt like doing a piece on where to begin looking/planning for a new career/life change - you'd have at least one person interested in reading it. I guess it would have to be a pretty general type of thing, but l think a lot of people have a hard time just getting started/oriented.” I started thinking, and believe this is a great idea, so let’s begin our quest of exploring how to move into new jobs, careers, and lives.

The Full Moon of April 2006 falls on Thursday, 13 April, at 24 degrees Aries and Libra. This is a powerful axis guaranteeing us all a concentrated dose of spiritual energies, and "good fortune attending upon the putting forth of effort." Our minds will become like an open cornucopia, with a powerful set of spiritual energies blown through the open window, so allow your minds to take shape according to the nature of the higher energies you're experiencing.

I love the material by Helena Roerich, author of the Agni Yoga series and wife of the venerable Nicholas Roerich, the first artist ever nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts at global disarmament between world wars 1 and 2. Among his achievements were many books and thousands of paintings, at least two thousand of Tibet done when he made his pioneering expeditions into central Asia, one of the first Europeans to do so.

Saturn symbolizes the Universal binding force, the limits of our fear, our responsibility, and our Dharmaseva, "the Great Work." In the Wisdom Tradition, Saturn also rules what is known as the "Ring-Pass-Not." It is where we meet the fear that separates us from our own divinity, dominion, and perfection. As we grow, our Ring-Pass-Not also grows.

April accents the fire sign Aries, where we leap into a new year with all the strength and speed that this highly active sign symbolizes. Being the first sign of the zodiacal new year, we can now focus on taking up new projects, new relationships, and new initiatives, and act upon our most urgent imperatives. This is the time to take advantage of our ability to turn to the new quickly with radical self-sufficiency, having harvested the fruits of the labor of the past 12 months. We now can learn to act with power and determination in highly effective ways. The Sun in Aries shines the light of wisdom on the principle of “economy of energy” in the various departments of our life and affairs.

If you're into astrology you no doubt have encountered the concept of the Rulerships, Detriments, Exaltations, and Fall positions of the planets. These have come to us from antiquity, and each of the 7 visible planets (known of the "Sacred Seven") has two signs it is said to "rule," and two signs in which a planet is in "Exile" or "Detriment." Though seemingly describing "good" and "bad" positions, this doesn't tell the whole story. A planet in the sign it "rules" can express negatively, while a planet in "exile" may show a favorable effect. It's all in how we choose to use the energies at our disposal, since astrology describes the dynamic art of living rather than a static set of determined responses.

I remembered there was an Aries eclipse about 19 years ago, since that's how long it takes for the Nodes to make a complete cycle around the zodiac. I revisited that eclipse, since it ushered in events that changed my life forever. I can't say the changes that followed were pleasant, and in fact it began a series of events in my life that are tragic by any yardstick, despite the good I chose to bring out of the wreckage. Imagine my surprise to find that the 1987 eclipse happened on March 29, just like the Eclipse last week, also at exactly 9 degrees of Aries! This is a "coincidence" of phenomenal proportions, given these two eclipses fell on the same day and same degree. So today's article will re-explore that eclipse, and if you're old enough to remember March of 1987, think back on how your lives changed after then.
