This week starts with an "old Moon," meaning it's a good time to finish old things, but new initiatives should not be pushed until after the New Moon on August 23 at 1 Virgo. In fact, the usual rule is not to start new projects until the Moon is at least one sign away from the Sun, since its fecundative, gestative energies get swamped by the sheer force of the Solar power represented by the Sun. The best part of the week involves Mercury trine Pluto, helping us cut through the bs and get clear about what is and is not true, and bringing us messages and communications related to the Sun trine Pluto "cut to the chase" energies of last week.
August 21 through 11:08 am August 23 offers the Moon in Leo, which puts it in the heart of the Fixed T-square, still throwing energies into the Taurus void, showing us the problem and the solution. Mercury opposes Neptune on Monday and Venus squares Jupiter on Tuesday, so get and stay as clear as possible in all communications, and free your mind from old rigidities while giving voice to what for many are vague notions or unclear thinking. These days try to stay conscious of ultimate ends in what you're doing, put your best self forward, and refuse everything that is petty or petulant.
Petulance is defined as insolence, contempt in speech or behavior, being unreasonably ill-tempered, or peevish. If you find yourself dealing with someone who refuses to meet you halfway, or projects their limitations on you, show civility while being clear that there are greater and lesser perspectives, levels of evolution and awareness. Not all points of view are equal in validity, regardless of the egalitarian ideal.
The Sun enters Virgo August 22 at 11:23 pm PDT, meaning August 23 everywhere else east of Pacific time. When the Moon enters Virgo August 23, it's a good time for discriminating between lesser and greater things, and the New Moon at 12:10 pm PDT will offer us a period of unique gifts as our "experiment in an improvised lab nears completion." We are learning to outwit something or someone as we move into being a more effective selfless benefactor to our society as a whole due to the quintile between the New Moon and Jupiter, helping modify the Fixed T-square into more productive directions. Learn to "relate seeming unrelated facts," and be persevering and cautious in connecting the dots. Show ingenuity, inventiveness, and an experimental attitude.
The New Moon in Virgo also has an especially favorable Mercury trine Pluto on August 24, helping us target misconceptions like a laser beam. This is an aspect favoring deep thinking and learning what is essentially true and what is not. We can get very clear about what is stagnant thinking and what is precise and deep understanding. Just be careful around those who are extremists, inflexible, or just plain out on a limb of scattered or inconsistent thinking and unreasonable assumptions. The Moon throwing a sextile to Jupiter and opposition to Uranus on August 24 helps move the Taurus energies into more productive focus and manifestation.
Watch out Friday, August 25, as the Moon in late Virgo conjuncts Mars and squares Pluto just before the Venus conjunct Saturn on August 26. This is both volatile, explosive, separative, and somewhat heavy emotionally due to a thousand jammed up factors going everywhere and nowhere. Purge your mind of unhelpful heaviness, lighten up as much as possible, and stay clear about what your values and ideals are without accepting others' limiting values and stifling rules of how you're supposed to relate. This can help us clean out obsolete rules that only bring about repressed feelings. What shows up on Friday anticipates the Mars square Pluto on August 29-30, so take note and prepare accordingly.
The Moon enters Libra a minute after midnight PDT on Saturday, August 26, and stays there through Monday, August 28, entering Scorpio 12:56 pm PDT. Actually, the period between August 26-28 should be very productive, with the overall theme still being the overcoming of old social rigidities and detachment from others' projections and limitations upon us. The entire week favors productive interpersonal fellowship, once stagnant or rigid ways of relating are dealt with. It's also a great time for planting, pruning, haircuts, and cultivating beauty however you want to.

Could you say a word about the emty leg dynamic. Have a friend with tarus sun and neptune in scorpio square transiting neptune.

Robert,
Your article was too on the money for me not to bring up the following situation and I very much appreciate your consideration of it:
I've been in contract negotiations for a job that, it seemed, was really in line with my core abilities, talents, and approach to work. But, communication broke down on the 7th when I sent the revised contract with the required additions.
His response to my original contract was very positive. But, I think that he thought I was being, as you said, petulant, in the cover letter response I sent with the revised contract. Maybe a little too cocky, eager, sure . . . he hasn't responded to either of the subsequent two attempts I've made to find out the status on the project or my involvement.
I am absolutely beside myself that I may have compromised this project because of my tendency to "strike" with my writing, especially in my letters. This job is a writing job. A job that I really want.
It is the greater thing. The lesser thing is a job that I am very qualified for, a sales job in fashion, but one that I am loathe to take knowing that I can be adding so much more to the world by really doing a great job with this writing project.
I don't know what to think.
Should I try to reestablish the discussion before the new moon? Or, after - he is out of the country until the 25th.
Thank you,
the amateur astrologer boiling in the hot closet . . .

This is so wierd, hotcloset. I have the same problem - I made tests to a job wich I thought I was qualified for - but got no answer. In part I'm happy and disappointed: I wanted it but at the same time I want to only work on writing. This job would be good for that, though not ideal.
Maybe I'll get something better in September... :/
My taurus is on 7th house, with no planets. I'm a leo.

Hi r clark - We all get Neptune square Neptune, usually corresponding to a change in our ideals. The void into Leo is the "missing component," showing the challenge, the problem, and the solution. The empty point is the balance to the dynamic of the T-square. A T-square is integrative, focused, and productive of power, unlike the Grand Cross which is diffusive. The tension of the opposing planets is thrust out into the world by the planet in square to the two.

Hi hotcloset - Thanks for letting me know that my analysis is correct. Try to remember that there may be a hidden agenda, or some things happening which are not negatives. Getting ready to go out of town, he may have had other things to do and your contract was put on the back burner.
Never apologize for letting the world know what you consider your gifts and strengths to be. Since his initial response was very positive, unless you have definite feedback that you were out of line, I wouldn't assume your cover letter was a negative. (However, it's also a reminder that even a good writer needs an editor from time to time to review whatever BEFORE submission!) His non-response since then could be for all kinds of reasons, none of which have to do with you. I'm sure he knows you want the job, but he may have to interview others, or get the green light from someone else.
Since he's out of the country for awhile, is there anyone else you can check with re: the status of your application? Not for an answer per se, but just to know that a decision has not been made, which to me is the likely thing. They may not want to announce anything until the 28th, due to his absence. There are too many variables for me to know with certainty what's up.

Hi D - Following up on the answer to hotcloset, this is an old moon, so hang out with it for awhile. The New Moon brings new initiatives, new information, and new directions.
Everyone, please remember that with a Saturn opposed Neptune, Mars square Pluto, and Venus conjunct Saturn, things may not be as they seem, so stay clear, don't yield to fear and vague dreads, frustration, or unhelpful self criticism. Delays usually happen for a good reason, and pessimism is not going to help. Better to affirm that until it's over, it's not over, and even if it doesn't turn out the way you want, then another situation perfectly in line with your skills and future growth needs will show up at the exact right time.

Thank you, Robert. Thank you very much.
And, D, good luck to you . . . we've got a lot to look forward to.

Tks Robert ;)
Good luck to you as well, hotcloset!

So when you say "thrust out into the world" You mean into the house of the empty leg? My friend actualy has a t-square with transiting saturn opp transiting neptune both square natal neptune with empty leg in 5th house tarus. Thanks, this is helpful. She has been struggling with an out of character skeptisism to spirit. I've been feeding her quotes by A. H. Almaas to keep the contact open.

Hi again r clark - Yes, the empty leg is the void that shows the conflict and the resolution. The skepticism (which is somewhat widespread at present) could be associated with afflicted Jupiter in Scorpio, which for those stuck in unconsciousness is showing as an unhealthy doubt of all things good and true, as well as a reckless disregard of universal ideals. A maladjusted Scorpio energy shows as a disrespect of things; the antidote is to be as for things as one can be against them, and to find the good rather than the bad. Where there is an unwillingness to generate positivity, then you're seeing a toxic degenerative force.
Then there's the afflicted Mars in Virgo, adding another layer of assertive skepticism based in duality. The recent affliction to Uranus in Pisces showed as some taking things for granted they shouldn't, and assuming certain things are true that aren't. You are a good friend to hang in there in this particularly difficult time for everyone, whether stuck in unconsciousness or not.

Hi there ...
just found your site when I googled current aspects...
I'm a Taurus at 18 degrees, with Uranus conjunct my sun at- I think it's 19 degrees... (part of why I create electronic music)...
I read somewhere on your site - (cant locate it now) -that the 18 degrees fixed signs were being affected by the fixed T square....it has been a bit rough lately....Your comments appreciated....!
thanks
Constance

Robert: I am very appreciative of your comments re: fear, vague dreads, frustrations, unhelpful self-criticism. I started a new job August 1 with my same company. It was a promotion for me. But the previous person left the paperwork in a mess. Everyone else is too busy to be of much help. They keep telling me that I am doing a great job, but my self-doubt and criticism has been in maximum overdrive. I have been working 50 hours a week and still can't get current on the paperwork. Thanks for the reminder about how powerful this T-Square is. I'm takin' a deep breath and telling myself that it will all be allright.
BTW- I made this site my home page. I don't have time to read elsewhere. This site gives anyone more than enough to ponder. Thanks again.

Hi dcu - Sorry that you're as overloaded with another person's mess as you are - I emphathize, since I'm in the middle of something different yet similar (I'm sure you can guess what I'm referring to - will fill you in within a few days via email. It's meltdown time for those who are living a lie, delusion, or doing what they shouldn't be doing). Though overloaded, just keep on hanging in there, since you eventually will get to the other side of the mess. Again, though it's very peculiar with the fogs and haze of Saturn opposition Neptune, and things seem extreme with the Mars square Pluto, perseverence furthers. The turning point is this week, and the increasing Virgo energies will help with the ordering of the details.

Hi Constance - Yes, the Saturn opposed Neptune is directly impacting all with a planet near 18 degrees of the Fixed signs. Sun conjunct Uranus are progressive spirits. Saturn is lower (waxing) square to your Taurus, showing the emergence of new foundations for your light and genius. This is the first reality check to whatever big decisions, endings and beginning occurred back in 1999-2000, when Saturn conjuncted your Taurus. This is a time of dropping old limitations, fears, responsibilities and turning to new ones.
Neptune OTOH is upper (waning) square your Taurus, usually productive of fogs, confusions, doubts, and vague dreads. If any of these are present, it's a challenge for you to get clear that you are powerful, have a focused intention, and are willing to do what it takes to come out of vagueness, though it seems all around you.
Jupiter in Scorpio is opposing your Taurus, giving the promise of better things to come, opportunities and new relationships, to the degree you keep the initiative in your own hands, search for how to be of greater service, not get too tempermental or discontent with what has been, get yourself oriented, and light up your genius. All of this is the result of the choices you made between September and December of 2005, and what you were willing to implement Jan-Feb of this year. November is your turning point, though you should be doing fairly well at present with the Mars trine your Taurus soon to be followed by the Sun, Venus, etc.
I suspect Mars has been or is near your Neptune, adding another layer of fog to things. Get organized, make a long term plan, drop all negative memories of the past, and reverse your magnetism in ways that help you regenerate while getting a practical plan, preparing for November.

thank you robert... this is most illuminating...
I found my chart and discovered that Uranus is 17 degrees not 19, which may or may not make that much of a difference in what you've written here....
and yes I am used to operating with a focused intention, so lately the fog and vagueness has been quite a challenge...
nice to know about "the emergence of new foundations"...... and the new potential in November is most welcome to hear about...
your writings are really wonderful...
these are challenging times for all....so thank you for helping everyone in the way that you do....

Hi cd - Glad the posting stuff is resolved. The degrees make a difference in the specific timing, but since the Sat-Nep opposition is at 18 degrees it won't make any difference regarding your Uranus. You are in the thick of it! Thanks for your encouraging words re: my posts. Am happy they are assisting you and others through challenging times. And of course you're welcome.

Hi all the spammers who are leaving junk here - I had to delete all your stuff due to internal site management issues. From now on I'll be banning all who leave crap on this site. Thanks for not gumming up the works. Definitely find something else to do with your valuable time, since 2012 approaches. Later easy and Hari Aum.
