How Will The Solar Eclipse of September 2006 Affect Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces?

The Solar Eclipse, despite releasing long term major volatile transforming energies through Pluto, will eventually bring favorable spiritual results since the Lunation makes a novile to Saturn. Where it falls in the map shows us what is closing, and what is opening. This article covers how it affects each sign.

Remember that a Solar Eclipse is a New Moon, bringing the promise of new things to come, new things to be fulfilled, new initiatives to embrace. The importance of a Solar Eclipse is that the effects last for years rather than weeks. Mercury, the ruler of the Eclipse and mutual reception with Venus, is in a degree of repair and reconstruction.

This one is in the last degree of Virgo, showing that our education is fulfilled in some important way, and what is to come is the doorway to a larger life, along with crashes for those trying to sustain something that ego alone cannot sustain. Pluto, the purifier, will no doubt help us to prune excess growth and purify our personality the better to express our Higher Self and our future archetype.

That said, let’s examine what’s up for each sign. Since it falls in the last degree of Virgo, what follows will hold for everyone except those born on the cusp, around the 21st-23rd of each month. Then the influence will split, and you should consult a professional astrologer to determine exactly what’s up. It will also EXACTLY affect your Sun by aspect, so it should impact your life significantly. As usual, this is done for the Solar chart position, though it also holds for Ascendant, or rising signs.

Aries: Falling in your 6th house, expect long term changes in your work, health, pets, and ways of being of practical service to your world. Your partner will have different motives and come to closure around old sorrows, and your home, self expression, creativity, and ways of playing will fuse through new adjustments.

Taurus: Falling in your 5th house, expect long term changes in how you relate to children, self expression, and what you like. Your partner will have new goals, ambitions, and friendships, and your environment and way of relating to family will fuse through what you have fulfilled up to now, renewing your playfulness.

Gemini: Falling in your 4th house, expect long term changes in your family, home, and memories of childhood. Your partner will have new professional opportunities, and your money, values, how you use what you have, your environment, and ways of communicating and interpreting will fuse in new foundations and ways to live.

Cancer: Falling in your 3rd house, expect long term changes in your environment, attitude, ways of viewing things, and communicating. Your partner will open to new education and philosophical views, and your self image, instincts, values, and how you deal with money will fuse through adjusting your attitude and what you express.

Leo: Falling in your 2nd house, expect long term changes in your money, values, resources, and how you use what you have. Your partner will open to new desires and regenerate some things thought lost, and your motives will fuse with a new self image, letting go of old behaviors that brought sorrow in a new sense of self-worth.

Virgo: Falling in your 1st house, expect long term changes in your body, self image, and instincts. Your partner will open to new ways of relating to you, others, and opportunities that have been developing for awhile. Your ambitions will fuse with your deepest motives, and friends will bring karmic blessings and/or closure.

Libra: Falling in your 12th house, expect long term changes in your motives, a ton of karmic closure, and a need to meditate a lot. Your partner will open to new work and service, and your goals and ambitions will fuse with your public self to bring you closure on old sorrows and karmic limiting patterns, offering deserved rewards.

Scorpio: Falling in your 11th house, expect long term changes in your goals, ambitions, friendships, and group involvements. Your partner will open to new ways of expressing themselves creatively, and your higher truth and destiny will fuse to open new ways to fulfill your ambitions AND your higher Truth of being.

Sagittarius: Falling in your 10th house, expect long term changes in your profession, public standing, or sense of how you are seen. Your partner will open to new needs, ways of seeing the past and new living arrangements, and your desires, magnetism, and higher Truth will fuse showing you a new role in the world.

Capricorn: Falling in your 9th house, expect long term changes in your truth, morality, and what you think your future looks like. Your partner will open to new attitudes and ways of expressing themselves, and your way of relating to others with your magnetism will fuse to open new ways of seeing alternative futures.

Aquarius: Falling in your 8th house, expect long term changes in your desires through losses and regenerations. Your partner will open to new values and ways of dealing with money, and your way of viewing others and how to adjust to practical necessities will fuse through gains and losses to show you what’s beyond both.

Pisces: Falling in your 7th house, expect long term changes in your partnerships and how you see yourself in relationships. Your partner will open to a new self image, and your natural way of playing, creating, and working will fuse through new modes of being and dancing with others showing you new ways to shape expectancies.

Love these articles! they are really giving me insight to alot of the things that are going on in my life I have my Libra Asc. @ 21 deg, and I have been meditating more, and I have been on a fruit juice/water fast for almost 10 days now. I do feel a need to make peace with certain aspects of my life. There has been alot of loss for me these past two years. I'm really ready for some positive changes!..and a nice boyfriend wouldn't hurt either![wink]:)

I have 4 planets in Virgo with the sun @17 degrees.I also have Pisces moon.On the most recent Lunar eclipse I wasnt able to sleep for 2 whole nights and 2 nights ago I wasnt able to sllep at all. I just recently connected with someone I love very much after years of no positive communication.I fell that maybe the past conflict may not be receding and maybe a push towards reconcillation...Thank you for such beautiful insight.

Do you mean any sign on the cusp will have a different relation to this eclipse, or only on the Virgo-Libra cusp? I'm a Libra-Scorpio cusp, (Oct. 21, 1966.) Any thoughts?

Hi Lindsay - I merely meant that if you are cuspal, the eclipse could fall either in the preceding house or the one I mentioned. Your Sun is 28 degrees of Libra, therefore the Solar Eclipse falls in your Solar 12th house, promising the ending of old worries, fussing about small stuff, etc., and ushers in a new motive of service, a new working payoff, a reward for training done before now, or some such thing.

Hi madhuri - You both should have multiple opportunities opening by late November into December due to Jupiter and other planets making a very favorable set of angles to your Sun as well as your husband's. It is also good to imagine what the world will need in the future, and then learn all you can to be ready to fill that need.

With Saturn recently conjunct your husband's Sun and Mercury, he is finally beginning to see a bigger picture; inventiveness and taking a different view from before now is favored. You are a very progressive and caring Spirit, extremely lucky, and began a 12 year adventure this time last year. Do not get discouraged by feeling that success is not worth the price - make sure your values are supporting your ambitions, and by Spring 2007 you should be doing EXTREMELY well. Hi, have just found this site it's probably too late to post a comment but I had the eclipse fall in my first house and was interested to read 'expect long term changes in your body' can you explain that a little more to me please will these changes be adverse? As I have been feeling like something isn't quite right with me sluggish metabolism etc? DOB 26/2/62 Birmingham UK

Hi Teeari - Welcome to the site. An eclipse in the first will definitely mark a point of future body changes. They won't necessarily be bad, but it probably marks a time when you'll have to do some things to help your body as it evolves and ages in a different way than before now. You're still in your "vision year" - 45 is an energetic turning point, so mobilize, activate, and escape from whatever "narrow destiny" you and your body shared before September.

Hi Jan - Of major import is that Saturn will still impact your Sun and Venus for the next 9 months. This began for you in late 2006, and is what you've been learning to deal with since then. It brings finality and closure on old ways of life, while opening long term rewards for work well done in the past. This should open you to new ways of relating to others as well as new life opportunities, while helping you let go of old worries and ways of "doing your being." It has been helping you "rewrite your address book," dropping old relationships, things, and values no longer useful for the new life you're embracing these next 29 years.

You have a very powerful rectangle and other configurations that clearly indicate you could rise to a position of power and influence in your society in some form of public service work. I suspect you may be moving into a much larger long term work, given the eclipse was on your Uranus in Virgo, challenging you to demonstrate some form of genius or unique individuality to your world in the coming years. You have been a "sleeping powerhouse," and the recent eclipse was your wake up call.

As an aside, and I realize each has their own response to such things, but when I had to sell my home in Texas many years ago, though it was a very difficult thing to do emotionally, it cut me loose from old ghosts and inertias, and kicked me into a very highly productive 10 years. Now after years in CA, I've found a new home in NM, and it's much better than the one I had to let go of. Life is for living. I hope you find the dough you need to maintain your home, but if not, don't regard it as a defeat, but as the means to move into a greater power than you may have dreamed of before now. You have a truly remarkable chart, and the world needs your talents and gifts. 44 is a vision year, so open to the widest vision or adventure you can, and "greet the guests" that show up. Robert thank you for you insight. I'd have no problem selling the house if I did not have 2 chilren that I'd have to uproot. With having 2 yrs. of chronic fatigue going on, I have no stamina to move. Feel like I'm really stuck. A wise man once said to me, when in fear, ask yourself, "Am I good right now?", and my answer is always yes. Hi Jan - The issue is not whether you should do whatever; the issue is whether you will be able to do whatever. As for two children, while moving can be a drag, it can also open the young mind to other places, people, and ways of viewing the impermanence of our living spaces in life. Having once had chronic fatigue for a number of years, I found that meditation, moving, rest, exercise, nourishment, and activating the growth principle served to dispel that temporary condition. You can always hire some locals to do the heavy lifting, and call in your friends to help with the packing. Kids too if they're old enough. And of course, I affirm you will find what you need to get through whatever is happening.

Interesting article! The eclipse falls on my birthday Sep 11th, my sun is 17 degrees Virgo in the 10th, I also have Mercury, Mars and Pluto in the 10th, I am presuming this eclipse will effect my work. Most of my other planets are in the 11th. The last couple of eclipses have not been that great for me and have certainly been effecting relationships since the earlier March ones this year. This one looks better!

Hi Micaela - I'm sure it will! though the Lunar Eclipse will ring all our chimes for the next 7 1/2 years, the coming Solar Eclipse should actually be fairly good in helping us make needed adjustments over the short term, preparing for the major upheavals indicated by the Lunar Eclipse.
