The week begins with the Full Moon in Gemini on December 4 at 4:25 pm PST at 13 Gemini, bringing happy returns to many and heavy karmic returns to others. Be stirred to a rebirth of love as you as see how the unfinished business of the past brought you to this point. We also have Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter conjunct at 3 and 4 degrees of Sagittarius all week, making quintiles to Neptune promising unique specializing experiences wherever these fall in our chart. Mercury also makes its final square with Saturn finishing up the challenges of the Fixed squares we've dealt with since this time last year.

Wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, STOP and congratulate yourselves for making it through one of the tougher, weirder 120+ hour periods of the year. The title aspects says it all, and these are not easy aspects between the inner planets which affect us personally and the outer planets which show forces barely under our control, or not under our control at all. We've now navigated a week of this - What was there to learn?

Jupiter in Sagittarius should bring wider horizons, new adventures, new visions of higher truths, and new freedom to us all. Jupiter, the "expansive principle" inside us, "guru" in Sanskrit, teaches us various ways to liberate ourselves as it makes it way through the zodiac. Now that it has entered one of the signs it rules, it will show us one face of its natural energy, Pisces being the other. Since it rules both these signs, expect to see its influence immediately in the areas in our charts influenced by Sagittarius and Pisces, as well as wherever we have our Jupiter by sign and house.

December is the month that features the Fire of Sagittarius, and in 2006 we have more Sagittarius planets than usual. When the Sun transits Sagittarius we are challenged to open to a wider view, a greater truth, and a more generous attitude regarding future possibilities. This is the sign of the quest, where the abstract mind opens to a higher reality and ideally finds a more abundant sense of humor and perspective. It is the last sign of Autumn and the harvest of our socialized activity from the past year preparing us for personal power and authority in Capricorn. The light force is at its yearly minimum, so conserve energy and concentrate on what you need to learn.

From long ago, one of the strongest musical statements ever made. The Spitting Image puppet masters created brilliant caricatures of everyone from Ronald and Nancy Reagan to Michael Jackson, Margaret Thatcher, Bette Midler and Henry Kissinger to use in this song, resulting in a masterpiece. It excoriated the Reagan administration, which gave us the bad seeds of Cheney, Rummy, and the rest. The link to the video and all the lyrics are below the fold. The magnificent Genesis:
I must have dreamed a thousand dreams, Been haunted by a million screams
But I can hear the marching feet, They're moving into the street
Now, did you read the news today? They say the danger has gone away
But I can see the fire's still alight They're burning into the night
There's too many men, too many people Making too many problems
And there's not much love to go around Can't you see this is a land of confusion?

This week shows Mercury making its final T-square with Saturn opposition Neptune, finishing up the challenges associated with the Fixed squares we've dealt with since this time last year. We also culminate the Sun-Uranus cycle that began February 2006 and end the week with the Full Moon in Gemini at 13 degrees of Gemini, bringing happy returns to many and heavy karmic returns to others. Be stirred to a rebirth of love as you as see how the unfinished business of the past has brought you to this point.

The storm zones in December 2006 mainly involve the waxing squares from planets in mid-Sagittarius to Uranus in mid-Pisces, and the conjunctions with Pluto in late Sagittarius. Other than these, only the Moon forms various squares and oppositions to the planets, helping us to release the generally favorable aspect energy productively, since planets in late Sagittarius make quintiles to Uranus and trines to Saturn even though they are conjunct Pluto. This should yield unique gifts and qualities while stabilizing the new Saturn expressions in our lives.

This was part of the comment stream from Affirmations, Thought-Forms, And Changing the Negative Tapes In Our Heads, as relevant today as when I originally wrote it. It was a part of my answer to the question "Any gravitational light to shed on the irrationality taking form today in the middle east?" I started with "Humanity is haunted by its lack of power to control outcomes fueled by fear of the unknown. Our global "leaders" lack imagination, and are utter incompetents in the face of the mindless violence dominating the Middle East, as well as many urban centers globally. Whether armies or gangs, police or militias, the response is brutal and offends humanity's higher sensibilities." Of course there's more...

This New Moon falls at 29 degrees of Scorpio in a very tight conjunction with Jupiter, showing this is the advent of new adventures, new freedom, and new visions of potential futures that are the next steps in "escaping from a narrow destiny" set into motion by the New Moon Solar Eclipse of September 2006. This should be a very favorable New Moon period for the next four weeks, very protective for some, liberating for others. Today we take a brief look at how each individual sign is impacted.

The coming week is no longer “before the beginning,” it IS the beginning of major things in motion. The New Moon falls at 29 Scorpio on November 20 at 3:54 pm PST, a degree symbolizing a mediating influence. "Misdeeds" will be named so the Soul can come forth. Its conjunction with Jupiter shows we need to find ways to release energies productively and transmute bottled up tensions or finalize recent power struggles, within and without.

In December, all signs will begin to note a significant shift in energies in every area of their lives. It will be the final cleaning up and clearing out of the old Scorpio stuff as everything moves out of that sign into Sagittarius, promising expansions. For those living their Higher Self, a blessed escape from whatever has been conflicted for a year. For villains, things are about to get wild indeed. In any case, it's a new adventure, a new future, and new energies for all!

This month accents the water sign Scorpio, where we transcend the forms we’ve glimpsed up to now and move deeper into the experience of people and activities. We can concentrate power by purifying ourselves of obsolete or stagnant feelings, and going deeper into our mystery to regenerate what we need to get from here to where we're going.

I posted this on the old site when it first hit the news. This story about a talking fish announcing the "end of days" is one of the weirder things I've seen reported in the media, and it's so surrealistic I figure it's worth posting it again. I left it in its original format since I had no idea how long we'd have access to the news story. As a Master once intoned, "So for your consideration, a tale of a fish speaking Hebrew, a Christian fish cutter, and a warning for us all. Welcome to the Twilight Zone."

The coming week has a lot going on. Mercury goes stationary direct on November 17 at 10 Scorpio, strengthening many present and future relationships and showing that more than a few are expressing “the acme of their being.” This promises openings beyond previous conceptions thanks to the Venus conjunct Jupiter and the Sun putting the brakes on old Saturn heaviness. This is a revolutionary, regenerative time, so let’s get ready to rock!

I post so much here that sometimes good stuff gets buried down a ways, and many readers miss out on timely and important info due to the sheer quantity of articles. So let's revisit some pieces that may still bear good fruit. For your consideration, we start with Practical Astrology in October-November 2006 - What is Mercury Retrograde Good For? since it is Mercury retrograde. You may also want to take a new look at Autumn and Winter 2006-2007 - We Live In Times of Dynamic Change, since we do, and the article contains good links to other articles.

This is not going to be a wonkish type of article, but rather a review of some things I wrote last December that seem about to come true, if Bradblog, the Velvet Revolution, BlackBoxVoting, Eriposte and others have succeeded in stopping what I have called “the Diebold Spread,” or the hackable voting machines that threw Election 2004 to Bush when actually a majority of the votes went to Kerry.

Mars triggers whatever happens of note in our charts. In November 2006, Mars moves between 6 and 27 degrees of Scorpio, marking a movement of the activator through the very intense energies of Watery Scorpio, Mars’ home sign. We began a new Sun-Mars cycle October 23 with the conjunction at 30 Libra, a degree of philosophical completion. The big news this month is that Mars squares Neptune, then Saturn, triggering the Fixed T-square that has jammed so many gears over the past year and change. Other aspects of note include its conjunction with retrograde Mercury and a trine and then tredecile to Uranus.

A reader asked a great question others have regarding commerical pop astrology sites stating that when Neptune is on your Sun it can "make me delusional and full of false hopes and dreams." Aside from the fact that the planets cannot "make" us anything, this is the perfect jumping-off point to address some of the issues raised. So today is a brief look at Neptune and the other outer planets' influence.

This week shows a sea change in American government, when the dissembling heavy-handed authoritarians are thoroughly thumped across the US, and control of part of our government finally changes hands. Of course, the Mercury retrograde guarantees nothing is as it seems, and much that is important today will shift emphasis in the next few months.

This month’s Full Moon falls on Sunday, November 5, 2006, 4:58 am PST at 13 degrees Taurus, showing we should “cheerfully balance a mountain of baggage” for some sort of gain or improvement. There are powerful oppositions from the Moon to 5 planets in Scorpio, two of which make a tight T-square with Neptune, throwing energies into mid-Leo. This is the next step in “escaping from a narrow destiny."

The coming weeks set a huge number of future promises into motion while finishing the old Pluto cycles begun this time last year. Couple that with aspects to Neptune unveiling much and everything in Scorpio and Sagittarius bringing the Uranus cycles to fulfillment, and you have a lot to harvest while catching the tide of a new dedication.
