New Moon in Scorpio November 2006 - What Does It Hold For Each Sign?
by Robert Wilkinson
This New Moon falls at 29 degrees of Scorpio in a very tight conjunction with Jupiter, showing this is the advent of new adventures, new freedom, and new visions of potential futures that are the next steps in "escaping from a narrow destiny" set into motion by the New Moon Solar Eclipse of September 2006. This should be a very favorable New Moon period for the next four weeks, very protective for some, liberating for others. Today we take a brief look at how each individual sign is impacted.
This New Moon features Mercury trine Uranus square Neptune, Venus square Uranus quintile Neptune, and Mars square Saturn. I covered some of what these mean in this article, so take a new look if you need to. I cannot cover how each of these impacts each chart, since there are thousands of permutations depending on one's rising sign, house rulers, and which house a given planet falls in, as well as aspects between the transits and the natal and progressed planets.
Because the New Moon falls at 29 Scorpio, what I'm offering must be slightly adjusted if your Sun or Ascendant falls at 30 degrees of a sign. Please remember that this specifically covers the next 4+ weeks, and what is set into motion now will have a big turning point at and after the coming Full Moon at 13 degrees of Gemini-Sagittarius on December 4, 2006, at 4:25 pm PST. With these in mind, here's something for the various Sun and rising signs.
Aries: This impacts your 8th house of shared resources, your relationship to social values, and how you deal with loss and regeneration. Reverse degenerative energies, let go of things and people you no longer want or need. A legacy could be set into motion, a karma could be complete.
Taurus: This impacts your 7th house of partnerships and relationships. Eliminate old feelings, awaken to a need to be proactive in some relational way, especially about work, friends, and long term world service. You're almost at the end of an old working situation.
Gemini: This impacts your 6th house of work, health, and sense of how you want to serve others, as well as your world. Eliminate old inertias that have become meaningless, open to new ways to be with others and present a better picture of yourself to your world.
Cancer: This impacts your 5th house of children, creative self expression, and natural enthusiasm. Are you steering the pressure or is it steering you? Concentrate on seeing the many possible futures based in which adjustments you make, as new truths and higher visions are possible.
Leo: This impacts your 4th house of home, family, and ways of remembering early childhood experiences. Be creative, playful, and more natural in how you relate to everyday experience. You also could be promised a legacy based in past compassionate actions.
Virgo: This impacts your 3rd house of perception, siblings, and environment. Be a good mediator in your neighborhood, both physical and psychic. Find a way to release tensions constructively, and allow your partner more time and space to concentrate.
Libra: This impacts your 2nd house of money, resources, and values. Clear out everything you can't or won't use, and see who may need it instead. Feel your way to more effective service. You can attract needed resources if you don't get too possessive or extravagant.
Scorpio: This impacts your 1st house of self image, your body, and your instincts. Figure out how to release whatever you need to in order to get momentum into a new adventure already upon you. Change your values to better express your playfulness and creativity. Help children release pressure.
Sagittarius: This impacts your 12th house of karma, rewards, and sorrows. It's time to end some things by just letting go of old stuck feelings. Accept openings that will yield future rewards, and follow the pressure into a new home, new family, or new way of seeing how the roots produced present flowers.
Capricorn: This impacts your 11th house of friends, goals, and ambitions. It's time to shift gears with friends, eliminating some while getting closer to others. You'll attract more attention so get focused about what you're trying to achieve and why. Major completion and new ways of seeing things are coming.
Aquarius: This impacts your 10th house of honor, profession, public standing, and visibility. This is the time to cut loose of old ways of being toward others, and allow your angel to come forth in powerful and deep ways. Resources are on the way, as are friends and a greater effectiveness.
Pisces: This impacts your 9th house of truth, philosophy, and higher learning. You can get a powerful vision of a greater effective compassionate self-expression by eliminating old pressures distracting you. Your visibility will be up, as will your pull toward higher absolutes beyond old forms.

I'm hoping my finances get a little better. I aksed a friend of mine to help me out with a storage bill! I never ask for help, but lately things have been tough. I feel like i'm in some kind of drought. Especially as far as resources are concerned. I start a new job this week, so i'm excited about that. I'll be doing hospice work. Money just seems to slip through my fingers! Plus I've been getting alot of colds, sore throats etc...
I've been in a dark mood these past few weeks. I'm hoping this will pass, I need a break!

Hi Robert,
Is Scorpio's effects in the 1st house as a result of the new Moon being in Scorpio?
Thanks

Hey Robert,
This article reads so hopeful...
I am absolutely seeming to be in a mess for the past whole week. Nothing seems to be moving on my projects, with money, love...take ur pick!;) On top of that, i have been worried about people around me, who seem to be going through huge anxieties and sorrows... i want to be of help but am too confused by my own lack of clarity on my situations...
Truly am looking forward to the 'new ways'
Hope u are keeping well.
Love always and smiles
Thanks

I've only recently discovered your site and find it exceptionally helpful (I'm an astrology student)- and enjoyable. Many thanks!

Hi Nicole - I've maintained for years that we need to imagine ourselves doing two things, one to feed our hearts and the other to feed our wallets. When these two merge, then we're truly "doing our bliss." And of course, should then find some other thing that feeds either our hearts or our wallets! Try to remember you can do many things for money, and few of these have much to do with one's ultimate dharma. So relax, find what your world needs, and find a way to give it to them while making something to sustain you. And it's good you're starting a new job, since you never know where it might lead you. I suspect as Jupiter slips into Sag your atmosphere will lighten up considerably.
Thanks, Abacus. And of course we can visit and I can check out your chart whenever you like, as per your request in the other comment stream.
Hi christy - Exactly! It also applies to Scorpio rising, unless you're 30 degrees exactly, in which case the New Moon is in the 12th house, but still exerts a 1st house influence due to the conjunction being so close.
Hi Anahata - We're still in between movements. New Moon is the very beginning of the 4 week process, and there is about to be a lot of sign change, so relax a little, catch a breath, and things should start moving soon. The best way to serve others is to become strong and clear yourself, since if you're not, you may be feeding their anxiety about you in an echo chamber that isn't very helpful to either of you. And thank you, I am finally getting some rest and restoring a bit of normalcy to my otherwise weird life.
Hi sandy - You're welcome. Please invite others to visit, since there's plenty even for those who don't know much astrology.

I have also just recently discovered your site and enjoy reading your articles.
I am wondering if the new moon in Scorpio (my ascendant sign) would impact on my natal moon at 29 degrees Pisces.
Thanks,
Suzanne

Dear Robert,
Hello! I was wondering, could you take a look at my husband's chart to see if this new moon effects his 12th house? He has been going through many changes with this new job and it seems like there is some other changes headed his way, all positive. His bd and time is 11/15/63 at 7:57 a.m.
Thanks! I hope you have a wonderful thanksgiving!
Chloe

Hi suzanne - Yes, the New Moon is trine your natal Moon, opening up a great harmonic understanding and stability wherever 29 Cancer is in your chart. It should give you "an intuitive weighing of alternatives" as you stand on the threshold of a new cycle of activity. It will bring many things to focus on your self image, creativity, and larger view of things. Children may be impacted, as well as how you enjoy yourself.
Hi Chloe - The New Moon is in his Solar 12th house, though if that birth time yields a Sagittarius rising, then the New Moon does in fact fall in his natal 12th house. It exactly conjuncts his natal Mercury, thus putting the spotlight on his Mercury ruled areas. For Scorpio, they are the 8th and 11th houses; for Sagittarius, they are the 7th and 10th houses. And of course, since he was born near a New Moon in Scorpio, it directly affects his overall energies and life.
Echoing so many wishes here, may you ALL have a most happy Thanksgiving and Holiday season, wherever you may be!

I can't remember feeling so depressed and hopeless about life as I feel now. I thought Jupiter returning my sign might change things. Darkness before the dawn?

Hi carrie ann - This time of year, if I'm in a place without much sunshine, my seasonal affective disorder can come out. That said, often our ego does assert its misery just before we turn the corner to a new life, new view, new relationships, and new activities. It knows it's dying, but doesn't know what's coming. I would think you stand on the precipice of a grand adventure, and it's the end game to 11 years of an old vision. Hang in there, as I suspect you also will be "escaping from a narrow destiny," or view, or whatever has held you back in the very near future.

This Sag is hangin' in there!

hi i am an astrology student.want to know if my partner and i will continue together or split Is there another marriage for me???Or a deeply spiritual path that may open up in the next few years?WHAT?what acts as a block for me to get published?my birth date is 29-7-62, 9.29 pm new delhi.
THANK YOU for such a knowledgeable insight into astrology as well as making time for sharing it all with us astrologyphiles!

Hi anu - I never counsel anyone to marry or divorce. That is up to the free will of the partners. That said, with your configurations you are illuminated by knowing what is permanent vs what is transitory, and have a strong aptitude for astrology. You are here to launch a great vision within a group situation through cultivating your creativity. You would do well in all forms of theater or media, are extremely protected and very intuitive, and should see this life as an adventure in learning about higher things.
The block to publishing is for you to let go of excess perfectionism and worry, find the right means to achieve your ends, and not get distracted by unnecessary stimuli or critical people that get you lost in loose ends. Let go of fear, controlling people, and worry about tiny details. All things to do with children and creative self-expression are your illumination, your area of greatest growth, and how you will materialize a higher truth. The vision of the future you've seen the past 9 months will require by mid-2007 that you act in ways that fulfill that vision, letting go of all that obstructs that vision or scatters your energies. Namaskarams.

I have a question, when is the next waxing moon in the house of scorpio?
Posted by: trudy | December 23, 2006 at 06:20 AM
Hi trudy - the Waxing Moon is always after the New Moon and before the Full. Thus you can only have a waxing moon in the sign of Scorpio when the Sun is in Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, or Scorpio. This would mean the next time the Waxing Moon falls in Scorpio would be May 28-30, 2007. Only when it's in the sign of Scorpio can it also be in the "house" of Scorpio.
