The Astrology of 2007 - The Outer Planets - Eruptions, Disruptions, Understanding, Openings and Abundance, the Movement Toward A Promise
by Robert Wilkinson
2007 is dominated by Jupiter in Sagittarius, firing up and expanding the energy and igniting the cosmic seeds that Pluto in Sag set these past 12 years. The first half of 2007 the Jupiterian quest for a bigger life is stabilized by the Fire trine from Saturn in Leo, shifting into a very potent biseptile between Jupiter and Saturn between mid-July and mid-November, promising extreme weirdness, irrationality, and important "destiny producing" events in the lives of people and nations. These planets show the larger societal movements, and there will be plenty this year, with things going out of control very easily and quickly.
Jupiter was last in Sagittarius in 1995, so this should be the end of whatever began in our lives then, and a renewal of promise or opportunity if we learned what we needed to from this liberating, expanding, idealistic and noble force. This is the power of a noble crusade for a better, more righteous world, open to many different views in a generous approach to life. Sagittarius is Mutable Fire, or the Fire that spreads ever wider and burns the past for the sake of a brighter future.
This should open new vistas, new possibilities, new ways of viewing higher truths for everyone, though the nature of the energies also show that a little prudence is a good thing, since Sag energy tends to run away at will into noble but implausible or impractical causes. Wherever we have Sagittarius in our charts will expand radically, and we can get new insights into a broader view in the life areas symbolized by the houses with Sag and Pisces on the cusp.
Picking up on its trine to Pluto in late 2006, Saturn will stabilize the Fire somewhat at least until September 2007, when it leaves Leo and begins its 2+ year stay in Virgo. This will affect everything in our charts related to Capricorn and Aquarius, and bring an element of practicality into life we haven't had in some time, due to a general lack of Earth in all the outer planets for over two years.
By November Saturn will be within range of an opposition with Uranus, showing an impending power struggle of truly mythic proportions between the control systems and the revolutionary forces of change. This will show as progressives polarized against rigid authoritarian systems, or mature responsible forces of civilization opposing anarchic forces of random willful chaotic change. Neither of these energies gives ground gracefully, so if possible avoid getting caught in the crossfire of these two determined intransigent forces.
Since Saturn will trine Pluto until the end of August, take note of the inspiration, understanding, stability, or harmony between the Aries, Leo, and Sag sectors of your chart, since that will flourish in a big way in November and December 2007 when Jupiter conjuncts Pluto in late Sag. Of course, that's a fairly extreme energy, for good or ill, so try to be discriminating and as practical and grounded as possible, as that is what will be the basis for the very good things to manifest when Jupiter in Capricorn trines Saturn in Virgo in January, February, and August through December 2008.
Throughout 2007 Neptune still septiles Pluto, anchoring The Grand Irrationality. Thus when Jupiter conjuncts Pluto in late 2007, expect to see a major flareup of general obsessive-compulsive behavior and unreasonable events. At least Uranus makes favorable aspects to Neptune the whole year, and a major point of spiritual emergent awareness globally as it binoviles Pluto multiple times between Spring 2007 and Spring 2009. Say goodbye to the quintile of 2006 by February, and get ready to do whatever you must to "get in shape" or as the Master of Agni Yoga puts it, "become goal-fit."
The Saturn opposition Neptune continues to dominate the psychic landscape through August 2007. The first one occurred at 18 degrees Leo-Aquarius August 2006, the next one will occur at 21 degrees of the same signs the end of February 2007, and the final one will be made at 22 Leo-Aquarius in June 2007. We've all been learning how to narrow our focus to get a better sense of the whole of our life affairs, not get discouraged by deceptions or other people's illusions or projection of their limitations upon us, and working patiently to bring our highest ideal into concrete manifestation. 2007 will be when we see the fruits of our this long labor if we've been diligent, organized, patient, persevering, and willing to accept responsibility.
While in Sagittarius, Jupiter offers a very helpful sextile to Neptune while trining Saturn, resolving the opposition and throwing very productive energies into the Gemini void points. Much will be exteriorized this year, whether emotional outbursts, the breaking up of old repressed conscious and subconscious material, or the gathering of individuals in harmonious forms of "bioenergetic rebuilding." There will be blind struggles, the surge of instincts in the field of ego, and much fulfillment through associations yielding a richer life than we've known before.
From January through March 2007, Saturn makes a quadranovile and then triseptile with Uranus, helping us drop old relationships that no longer reflect our spiritual affinity, and finding new allies with whom to move into a greater cooperative destiny. This occurs during the time that Jupiter is square Uranus, releasing revolutionary energies, and promising great driving force. Just make sure you're oriented in the right direction, and resist the temptation to explode sideways into eccentric or willful destructive directions.
The Jupiter square Uranus will last through June 2007, and come back in full force September and October 2007. These are powerful revolutionary energies that favor renovation, innovation, change and transformation. Everywhere we have mid-Gemini, mid-Virgo, mid-Sagittarius, and mid-Pisces will be profoundly affected, with awakenings, unexpected change that frees us or helps us feel more alive or opens new possibilities where we can demonstrate our uniqueness or genius.

Robert,
Can't express in words how much my Higer Self has distilled from your writings. Thank You.
I am curious of your prognosticatory wisdom as it would relate to a weary triple-Virgo energy worker who has slugged through the density over the past few+ and fast approaching his Saturn Returns. I feel so much coming together. I am curious with regards to the last paragraph what a 23 degree Virgo Asc. (and obviously associated Gem/Sag/Pisc on MC/IC/Desc. suggests in terms of potency of transformation.

Hi Carson - glad my writings have brought forth your Higher Self's recognition of its inherent reality. At least Pluto is past the square to your Asc, though with the inner planets now moving through Sag, you should be seeing gifts, unique insights, and are about to have some new beginnings in January when Mars lower squares the Asc and moves into your 4th house.
Uranus opposed your Sun for two years has probably been the source of much nervous tension, flashes of brilliance, and very unusual interactions with others. Saturn on your Mercury for the past few months and the next 9 shows it's time to learn as much as you can, overcome any tendency to pessimism or narrow or rigid thinking, and not sweat the small stuff. Great for returning to the student state and train your mind for greater roles and responsibilities when Saturn enters Virgo.
Saturn is also very favorable to your Venus, Mars, Neptune and Pluto, as is Pluto, so use the trine from Leo to Sag to stabilize your life in ways that are more creative, more fun, more free, and less worrisome. Refuse the reclusive life, be more willing to compete with good humor, and use your imagination to reshape your authorship in the world. You should definitely read this article on the Saturn Return as well as this one on Saturn cycles - What it means when it makes a conjunction, square or opposition to planets or the Ascendant. Also, check out this article and the one preceding it as it will give insights into what you went through at your progressed Lunar return a year ago, and what these changes of the past year mean in terms of your Saturn return.
A final note: your chart clearly indicates that your have a capacity to become extremely famous and a true authority in your world, and that you have an extraordinary ability to make your own opportunities. Overcome any doubts or fears about who you can become, and breathe into a willingness to accept whatever greater work you're presented. BE the enormous world-class force for good that your chart indicates. You'll start seeing the movement by September 2007, so get ready to rock!

Robert,
Much appreciated as always. Your depth of service and generousity is an inspiration to all you touch. The energy work has gone deep and lingering doubts have all but vanished - causal plane of thought is far more comforting. I thank you for your clear and insightful vision into my chart summarized in your final note - there is too much that has to be done in helping others with a smile on my face to give in to my hermitual side. And rock is what I shall naturally plan to do once the Dharmic visions have attuned with my intuition. Until then I have developed the patience to enjoy the ride and allow it to unfold in its own time. Astrology has helped so much with understanding the time cycles of these energies.
Much respect, love and positive energy to Source and its Divine messengers such as yourself.
Namaste,
Carson

I fully agree with marks and remarks of the of the previous opinion-maker:) And consider the necessity of being aware of the time cycles of planetary and other energies of the kind very up-to-date and...evergreen. Are there any "theoretical" sources/books/texts about the principles of such cycles of Heavenly Scriptures? I mean for the people who are willing to make a following step from just interdisciplinary respect to astrology to its fundamentals at least?

Hi Svetlana - The bridge between astrology and metaphysics is still relatively undeveloped. Rudhyar and Jones did amazing work, as did others. Ruperti did great work with cycles of becoming, but so far, this correspondent finds that only this column addresses the problem of finding a common language and correlations between the celestial art and the Eternal Quest. Rudhyar thought this was an important point in making our Eternal Celestial craft applicable to the evolving humanity of the future.

Hi Robert,
Thanks for your posts as usual. I've a question. In this article you write:
"Picking up on its trine to Pluto in late 2006, Saturn will stabilize the Fire somewhat at least until September 2007, when it leaves Leo and begins its 2+ year stay in Virgo. This will affect everything in our charts related to Capricorn and Aquarius, and bring an element of practicality into life we haven't had in some time, due to a general lack of Earth in all the outer planets for over two years."
Do you mean Capricorn and Taurus, since Virgo, Capricorn and Taurus are Earth signs, or did you mean Aquarius for a different reason? I'm still very much a beginner so am trying to learn as much as I can. Thanks.
Happy 2007.

It just occurred to me that Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn and Aquarius. Sorry for being too quick on the draw before thinking! Apologies.
I'm one of those with a mid-Gemini, mid-Virgo, mid-Sagittarius, and mid-Pisces axis, so I guess, no point hoping for an uneventful year, eh?!
Posted by: hitchhiker72 | January 07, 2007 at 02:53 PM
Hi hitchhiker72 - It's all good. Having Aries strong in my own chart, it's often a "ready, fire, aim" sort of process for me! ;-) That's why I have great compassion for people on a quest for knowledge. In my zeal I've often run right past the answer, only to backtrack and find it. Aum Namah Shivaya! And yes, with anything at late Mutable, expect a very eventful year to come, with major purifications and catalytic reactions throwing you into a clearer destiny.

HI! Robert,
This is my first time to your site. Thanks! I love it. I would love to have a natal chart done for myself. Do you do that? If you do, can you do it so that I can understand it? Plan English in other words. I love the idea of astrolgy, but am total clueless. If you do charts, how much is the cost?
Thanks,

Hi ReVonda - Check out the link on the left hand side of the page that says "For Personal Consultations." I use a different language in my readings than my writings, and the thousands I've read for over the years have all been satisfied with how I explain your chart and its possibilities. For those with knowledge of the craft, I take one approach; for those with little or no knowledge of astrology, I leave out almost all the jargon, and address your strengths, antidotes for blind spots, your gifts and purpose for being here, your illumination process, a bunch of relevant symbols in your life, and a whole bunch about what's going on, why, and how you can best play the changes so that you're more in command of your life. Email me to start the process - the address is also on the left hand links.

Your Highness,
I've just discovered that my recently adopted spirtual advisor with a 27 pisces sun has jupiter at 27 sag conjunct transiting pluto and jupiter. What should she expect other than the recent meltdown that happened 5 minutes ago......Help please.

Hi chickie - She is definitely beginning a major new cycle of learning/teaching. She needs to practice a new form of self-expression, keep the initiative in her own hands, and make sure she's not unnecessarily limiting her form of service to others. More self confidence, using her self discipline and deep insights, should do the trick for the next year or so. By then, Uranus will revolutionize the light, which can be expressed through Saturn in late Virgo.

Your Highness,
Thank you for your insights on this gifted mystic/healer. She has forces blocking her progress and I wanted to hear you take.
Blessings....c
