This week we continue a great run of Lunar Aspects helping us bring the Full Moon potential of Forgiveness to manifestation, helping the Compassion of the New Moon to grow by the spaciousness and luminosity we generate through Forgiveness. The recent Saturn irrationality field continues to yield results, and the Mars trine Saturn opening the void in Aries shows us the way that will catch fire in our lives beginning March 2007, with the generative inspiration lasting through April, May, and June. We'll catch a glimpse of this electrifying power on January 23-24, so be alert for signs of things to come!
This is a week to follow through on initiatives of the past few weeks, and maintain the momentum of productive understanding and stabilization. Though things have recently been very weird and unstable, it broke up old patterns and opened numerous doors to a greater future or "destiny" for those of us "hearing the call." Now we begin to prove our qualifications to do the job we've declared ours, and so even if it seems an ordeal at times, you earned the review through your previous willingness and chosen dedications. Breathe into your new role, do it with style and originality, and your courage and willingness will be awesome (and very evident to yourself and others) by March.
There are favorable aspects all week long from the Moon, with the breakthrough zone when the Moon squares the Saturn-Neptune opposition on January 13-14, helping us ground the practical organized energies of Capricorn into simple stable forms in Taurus. There just aren't many difficult aspects in the coming week, so make hay while the Sun shines and push yourself a little. You may be surprised at how much you accomplish and how great it feels. It should be fairly easy to figure things out, move into greater vision and efficiency, and see a larger role or contribution you could make in the future.
When the Moon triggers a T-square with Saturn and Neptune, we again get a chance to get clear magnetically and come to awarenesses about our self-reliance and self-sufficiency at this stage of our "grand adventure." This opposition is forming and will be exact from mid-February through mid-March 2007, and again for the final time in this series from late May through mid-July 2007. Every time the Moon conjuncts or squares Saturn or Neptune this larger tension is triggered, so take note. All of it should serve to remind us of the strength we've received as a result of breaking up old patterns the past 18 months. I've written about the past Fixed T-squares and crosses the past few weeks, describing these as:
... for the most part 1) broke some things up forever, 2) challenged us see what to clear out, 3) made us evaluate what to "put on the shelf for the future," and 4) opened up solid paths of personal, social, and spiritual development associated with things, heart, magnetism, ambition, and idealism. We were all challenged to one or more of the following: persevere despite difficulties, cut our losses when blocked by intransigent obstructionists, stabilize what which was unstable, or break apart that which was stuck in the mud.
Since it's a decreasing Moon, much is completing that has been the focus since the last New Moon. This has been a very important Lunation, as I wrote two weeks ago: "A lot of future growth will begin to manifest on December 20 at the New Moon occurring at 29 degrees Sagittarius. It should be an extremely powerful lunation due to falling within the active zone of The Grand Irrationality, promising some very important "destiny changing" events in late December 2006 and early January 2007.” The larger lessons and activations of the recent New Moon will be forcefully activated by the Mars transit of that point, so expect things to ignite fairly quickly.
Venus sextile Jupiter all week should make for some very good vibes and productive relationships, so try to appreciate and enjoy the lightness of opportunity after so many months of heaviness and weird irrationality. It may still be happening, but now and then we better take the time to enjoy ourselves, or all we'll remember down the road is a long hard slog. Venus in Aquarius is very idealistic, and favorable to Jupiter shows a great time for opening to the eternal "Lightness of Being."
Whatever the Sun conjunct Pluto sprouted in December, it illuminated our specific gifts and originality of self expression, and started a year of expressing our unique individuality that will affect our personal world. This will be activated by the Mars conjunct Pluto this week at the Galactic Center, indicating a closing point of choice in our ideals and a fusion of the higher and lower ways of applying energy directly. The link will take you to one of three articles dealing with this galactic influence we're current under. When you go there, please read the two linked in that one first, since that will build your understanding and make more sense of it all. In any case, this week act and push through on whatever truth the Sun revealed during this time of Mars conjunct Pluto. Join the best of the past and present to meet a future need, kick back, and you'll see major results involving this energy by Summer 2007.
As I wrote last week, "Saturn's present position continues to put pressure on late degrees of the Fixed signs... 24-27 of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius continue to be stressed... keep it simple, pleasant, refuse to allow your imagination to go into pessimistic directions, and cultivate your rapport with your brothers and sisters of the Spirit.... break the old Saturn pessimism and restrictions based on the vision and opening to new ideas being offered.... use our Saturn self-sufficiency to bust illusions... keep seeing how to follow discontent into self-transformation, how your lower self has been joined to your Higher Self through the death of useless things, and embrace a more powerful form of spiritual linkage through emotional stress. Just keep in mind that the Saturn opposition Neptune will continue to show hard realities and greater ways to make our experience, discipline, maturity and wisdom real through August 2007."
January 8 begins with the Moon in Virgo. As I wrote last week:
The Moon enters Virgo at 10:18 pm January 6 just after the superior conjunction of Mercury with the Sun at 17 Capricorn, promising us all a release from old inhibitions through new ideas, interpretations, and perspectives that will result from whatever group we've been moving into. As noted above, the Mutable T-square on Sunday, January 7, should help us to diversify our perspective and pick up knowledge and ideas that we need for further outreach.
Jupiter finishes its biseptile Saturn this week, and shows we've been through major changes, decisions, and shifts in the direction of whatever "destiny" we've chosen by our actions and non-actions. January 2 was a major point of shift I outlined in this article due to the Moon's transit through the early Cancer zone of the seven sectors I'm calling the "Jupiter-Saturn Irrationality Zone." It happened again on January 6 (conjunct Saturn), and this week will happen January 10-11 (14-18 Libra). Expect things to continue to get intense, weird, with forks in the road and important decisions made during these times that should clarify our dharma.
Right now the hot zones of the Sag Jupiter-Leo Saturn irrationality field fall around 23-27 Leo, 14-18 Libra, 7-11 Sagittarius, 28 Capricorn-2 Aquarius, 19-23 Pisces, 10-14 Taurus, and 1-4 Cancer. Couple these with the usual trigger points of The Grand Irrationality at 26-30 Sagittarius, 17-22 Aquarius, 9-13 Aries, 1-5 Gemini, 22-25 Cancer, 13-17 Virgo, and 4-8 Scorpio at this time in history, and you have a generally strange atmosphere, a lot of compulsions coming to surface as well as forks in the road of our destiny in several areas of life, and overall one long hard edge of choices, changes, and a future that never is quite as logical as we may like.
The Moon triggers the Grand Irrationality January 7-8, 12, and 16th. These are on-going turning point of sorts, where the seeds of the future will stand revealed. Still, with so many favorable aspects, this should continue the productive atmosphere. Even if destiny is "on the move," we still can steer the process to some degree, if we don't lose our cool in the midst of the great weirdness. Part of what we're all learning in these strange times is not to lean to heavily on "things making sense," and learning to fly by the seat of our pants, not going funky places we shouldn't, and making choices that will propel us into an evolving future that may not make much sense but is perfect for the uniqueness we are.
The Moon enters Libra 10:15 am PST January 9, making favorable sextiles and trines over the following days, extending these aspects to other planets when it enters Scorpio 11:08 pm PST January 11, which means January 12 for everywhere east of Phoenix. Moon in Libra or Scorpio is supposedly good for all things to do with planting and transplanting, as well as beauty treatments. Try to avoid signing lease or purchase papers for apartments and homes if possible during Moon in Scorpio.
This period of the Moon in Libra and Scorpio is great for balancing out old karmas and doing "reclamation work," purifying through readjusting the proportion of whatever needs it in our lives. We can glimpse ideals, especially with so many favorable aspects to Venus, Jupiter, and Neptune on January 10-11 and Saturn, Mars, and Pluto on January 11-12, when many quintiles, sextiles, and trines are manifest.
The Moon is in Scorpio January 12, 13, and 14, when it enters Sagittarius 10:11 am PST. The transit of Scorpio initially squares Venus and trines Uranus on 12-13, favoring assertiveness, inventiveness, stability, and heart power. January 13 is the Fixed T-square at the time of Mars conjunct Pluto, so heads up! Things should be fairly straightforward, to the point, and show the way of the future that could be in full bloom by August through November 2007. The sextile to the Sun should make things make sense.
The Moon enters Sag on Jan 14 where it proceeds to make great aspects to Jupiter, Venus, and Neptune through Monday, January 15. During this time Mercury is biseptile Saturn and then septiles Jupiter when it enters Aquarius on January 15 at 1:25 am PST, and a day afterwards, retriggering the Saturn irrationality field.
This should bring insights and information about recent changes, as well as ideas and visions of our greater contribution to our life and the lives of others, especially with the Moon conjunction Jupiter and forming a sextile to Neptune. Pay attention to hunches, flashes, and hints of vision or opportunities, and launch the vision even as you tell the truth, and get ready to galvanize into action on January 16-17.
Overall, a great week for dynamic activity that follows through on what's already been set into motion, with a lot of development energy coupled with efficiency, vision, and movement into the future. During this time of "Group Activity," keep organizing and reorganizing in order to accomplish your highest ideal and capture rewards from Spirit in January and February 2007.

my saturn return (10th/11th house cusp) exacts the same day as mars (sun in aries/7th) conjuncts pluto and the GC.
...any insights?

(pluto is also conjunct my ascendant... Also, I have have been in contact with several different races of what appear to be Extra-terrestrials/angels/time travelers. In one instance, I was shown, along wiht an small ampatheater a grand alignment of planets that was supposed to take place in the year 2012.)

Hi Ian - You're definitely in the middle of your Saturn return! It could be that the life you are embracing, different from the old, is one in harmony with a more transpersonal focus, since your two rulers, Mars and Pluto, are trine your Saturn and transiting Saturn. This opens the void in Aries to your Sun and Mercury. You already have a Grand Fire Trine in your chart, so the on-going Saturn trine Pluto should show you the most natural way for you to embrace a more effective fiery role in the world.
Your video work is good. In places it reminds me of footage I did when I produced and directed music videos and other stuff back in the 80s. I also have Pluto rising, so I understand your feeling of "otherworldlyness" throughout your life. I'm sure you get extreme reactions to who you are, which may be occasionally unnerving to your Libra rising, peacemaker that it is.
As for any "grand alignment" of planets in 2012, well, there aren't enough planets in any one sign for long enough to qualify. I've done articles and talks in the past about various alignments, such as the one in 1991 with 7 points in Capricorn occupied by 6 planets and the NN. In fact, we just had one in December 2006 involving 5 planets in Sag. However, in 2012 Pluto is in Cap, Neptune shifts early from Aquarius to Pisces, Uranus is in Aries, Saturn is in late Libra shifting into early Scorpio in October, Jupiter is in Taurus the first half of the year and Gemini the second half, and Mars transits from Virgo through Capricorn. The most that cluster at any one time is 4 in Aries and then Taurus early in 2012, 4 (very briefly) in Scorpio in November, and 3 in Sag and then Cap in December.
So I can't find a large stellium in 2012, though we have one in Pisces in March 2010 (5 planets), as well as a small one (4 planets) in Scorpio in October 2010. 4 planets align in Cap in Jan 2011, 5 align for a few hours in Aquarius in Feb 2011, 5 align in Aries April 2011, 6 align in Aries in early May 2011, 4 align in Libra Sept-Oct 2011, 4 align in Aries for a few hours April 2012, 4 align briefly in Taurus in May 2012, and 4 are briefly in Scorpio with each other Dec 2012. There are 5 in Pisces Feb 2013, 6 (briefly) in Pisces in March 2013, 5 briefly in Aries April 2013, 4 in Gemini May-Jun 2013, and 4 briefly in Cancer June-July 2013.
We have a Grand Earth Trine Nov 2011 and again April-May 2012, and a brief Grand Mutable Cross in April 2012. Those are the only significant alignments I can find.

I hope you again discuss the state of the nation.
Apparently its all over the British press that Israel is going attack Iran and Bush will have to support them
with our troops and Nukes! Apparently we are not done with the Bushy crowd as yet, as they have an ace up their sleeve and that's why Bush seems so confident.

Hi carrie ann - I know I should post something on the state of the world soon, and will, now that I'm no longer on the road and my "sacred day" will soon pass into another day.

hi Roberto,
wow... it's been kindofa weird time lately....
'As I wrote last week, "Saturn's present position continues to put pressure on late degrees of the Fixed signs... 24-27 of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius...'
'Right now the hot zones of the Sag Jupiter-Leo Saturn irrationality field fall around 23-27 Leo, 14-18 Libra, 7-11 Sagittarius, 28 Capricorn-2 Aquarius, 19-23 Pisces, 10-14 Taurus, and 1-4 Cancer. Couple these with the usual trigger points of The Grand Irrationality at 26-30 Sagittarius, 17-22 Aquarius, 9-13 Aries, 1-5 Gemini, 22-25 Cancer, 13-17 Virgo, and 4-8 Scorpio at this time in history, and you have a generally strange atmosphere,...'
how do these current aspects relate to a 18 degrees Taurus with a 19 degrees conjunct Uranus, a 28 degrees Cap moon conjunct Mars, etc.... I see that my 18 degrees sun is 6 degrees from one aspect and 4 degrees from another.... but I'm guessing it's being affected somewhat... I'm a bit spacey and not quite able to focus in my usual way....
thanks again for all your good counsel to us all

Hi cd - Well, it means that your Sun-Urnaus was not directly affected by the rapidly passing Jupiter-Saturn Irrationality zone, but your Moon-Mars was, indicating important choices and changes in those areas of your life which should be triggered in dramatic fashion when Mars transits those points. And of course you're most welcome.

Hi Robert,
I would like your feedback about the following transit and situation. (I am a Virgo with 4 degrees Aquarius rising). For almost the last two years, Saturn has been in Leo and for the last six months or so it has been in my seventh house closely conjunct both my Pluto and South Node (which are almost an exact conj. in Leo). During this time, I have been doing long-distance caregiving for my elderly mother (Pisces with Uranus in Aq. opposite Neptune in Leo, and Pluto conj. Moon and Saturn in Cancer), who had both Parkinson's disease and, as I was to discover this June, colon cancer. It has been excruciatingly difficult and I have felt at various times both pulverized and pulled apart (and sometimes both at the same time) by the experience. I was with my mother during the last week of her life (she passed away on New Year's Eve) but due to a combination of physical weakness/sickness of my own and an unsupportive relationship with my brother, was unable to stay with her until she died. I was also feeling what I can only describe as a "dark force" around me that I did not feel that I had the strength to withstand. I don't know what this force was - if it was an energy representing Pluto's conj. the Galactic Center or if it was a final playing out of Saturn contacting my Pluto and S. Node or if it was my mother's death, or all of the above - but I remember feeling very small and childlike and also feeling the immensity of this darkness all around me and not feeling enough support to withstand this. It was also depressing and very physically draining. So I left and returned home. I'm still trying to understand what this "dark force" represented and was wondering what your take on this is. I'm also trying to rebuild my life after my mother's death, as I feel that I have no family anymore (my only immediate family is my brother and we're not close; he and his wife were very angry that I left a few days before my mother died). I feel like a large house has fallen on me and that I need to clear as much of this wreckage as possible before beginning my new life. The old life just doesn't seem to fit anymore. Whatever insight you have to offer me would be greatly appreciated.
Posted by: michele | January 27, 2007 at 08:45 PM
Hi michele - Saturn is certainly giving you a dose of how to demonstrate what you've learned this life, and purifying your way of being with others. Your mom had her journey to do, and as much as we would like to be able to spare our loved ones their trials, that's not the way this world is hardwired. And of course we all die some time in some way, so whether we consciously choose our exit strategy or not, it eventually is shown to us.
I'm sorry you were not physically able to be with your mom as she checked out, but your heart was there, and on the level of unconditional love, your closeness and presence are determined by your intention to love, regardless of the separation of physical location. Unconditional Love does not take note of physical location. Your heart kept vigil, and that is enough.
"Dark force" is usually the sensing of dense energies by the Higher Self. It could be fear, anger, possessiveness, resentment, or whatever. It doesn't matter. If you didn't feel strong enough to stand up to it, it's still okay. As magnetic units of energy, we sometimes do not have enough magnetism to stay unaffected and clear in the midst of dark energies. I doubt it was something as generic and widespread as Pluto conjunct the GC. It may have involved, at least partially, your sensing the vastness of the void which we call death, which is a pretty dark place for our ego, which does NOT want to imagine "death." It's not really dark as in "bad," but it is awesome and absolute and the place of annihilation of whatever "I consciousness" we think we have. And of course there is usually a ton of fear present when someone is dying, especially from those who are freaked out by the awesome process of a Spirit withdrawing from their form.
To paraphrase a great carpenter, "Who is your family?" Though our bloodline represents a familiar frame of reference, often our Spiritual family include those who are not incarnated, or those who are, but are not "blood," whatever that means. I'm just sorry that your bro and sister in law are allowing something as useless as anger to obstruct and distort their legitimate grief. Leave their anger to them; you be about loving the memory and eternal presence of your mom, do all the prayers and meditations you need to help her Soul find its way through the Bardo to the frequencies of "Heaven" and enjoy the freedom to be your loving self as an Eternal that is your divine birthright. And of course the "old life" doesn't fit anymore. So embrace the new one, whether you know what it looks like or not! Don't worry about what others think - take this depth experience as a chance to go places you may not have gone before, shedding fear, aversion, attachment, and others' illusions. You do not have to suffer at this magic moment in your life quest for meaning.
