Pluto is the ultimate purifier. It's an intense, "waaaay out there" type of energy, utterly non-negotiable, and strips things of any impure matter attached to whatever it touches. Though occasionally fearsome in its effects, it also helps us do a "spiritual spring cleaning" on parts of our lives, so that we can quickly dump the psychic and physical clutter and move forward unencumbered by obsolete life attachments. The recent Pisces Solar Eclipse was almost exactly square Pluto, promising major developments. But it didn't start there.
Taking a look back, we've had a chain of New Moons in the last degrees of each sign since September 2006's Solar Eclipse at 30 Virgo, which as you know has set many things into motion for all of us helping us "escape from a narrow destiny" by being willing to rise to some occasion joyously to "broaden our life horizon." I have termed Lunations, or the sequence of New and Full Moons that occur like clockwork (literally!), "God's Footprints in Time." They show us a bigger "action beat" in our lives, since each puts the focus on sequential houses in our charts, thus triggering beginnings and fulfillments in each of our 12 sectors of reality each year.
So since last September, we've had New Moons dynamically aspecting Pluto, showing us new beginnings in the houses they fell in. By studying these New Moons and the aspects made during those important markers in time, we can understand how they worked, both in general and specific to how those angles fell in our charts, and what aspects they made. (No, I cannot comment on each possible manifestation, since that's about 10 books of possibilities!) That said, there is much we can learn by looking at one primary factor in those lunations, the source of much anxiety and many recent questions on this site. That involves the Pluto aspects made by each lunation.
While transiting Pluto makes aspects to our natal chart planetary positions, because it is the outermost planet, ALL the transiting planets make aspect TO Pluto. In astrology, a planet inside the orbit of another makes aspects to the outer planet. Sun, Moon, Mercury all make aspects to Jupiter and Saturn; transiting Saturn does not make aspects to Mercury, Venus, etc. Thus even Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune make aspects to Pluto, not vise-versa. And Pluto has configured dynamically in every New Moon since September 2006, so let's explore a little more about the implications of Pluto being involved in every new beginning we've experienced since then.
In the September 2006 Solar Eclipse New Moon at 30 Virgo, it squared Pluto at 25 Sagittarius, throwing the voids into Gemini and Pisces. This began the breakdown and rebuilding of our lives wherever this square fell. As with all New Moons square Pluto, it challenged the Cancer and Leo sectors of our lives to "right action" relative to the relentless purifying pressures of Pluto. As this was an "upper" square, or "Waning" square, it showed a culmination of the old Pluto cycle set into motion when the Sun last conjuncted Pluto before then in December 2005 at 27 Sag, releasing the seeds of our "sculptor" Self.
After that significant beginning/culmination, the next New Moon was at 28 Libra, waning sextile to Pluto, helping us all gather with allies and friends to build the connections to further future "civilizing" processes. The New Moon of November 2006 was at 29 Scorpio waning semisextile Pluto, the final New Moon of the old cycle before the New Moon of December 2006 at 29 Sagittarius which conjuncted Pluto at 27 and anticipated Pluto's stationary retrograde point in 2007 at 29 Sag. The end of 2006 closed the books on the old Plutonic influence for the year, while opening up the seeds of the future, including the on-going powerful Galactic Center influence in effect due to Pluto's conjunction with that point.
The first New Moon of 2007 was at 29 Capricorn, waxing semisextile Pluto, while the recent Transfiguration New Moon in February was at 29 Aquarius, sextile Pluto. This should have made for productive purifications and intensifications in that period, not necessarily "bad," though Pluto can often not be easy, usually feels "out there," and is usually not well understood or welcome, given the extreme effects associated with its working in our lives. Still, regard what you've let go of the past two months as productively tuning you up for future effectiveness.
The New Moon Solar Eclipse of March was waxing (lower) square Pluto, the source of the aforementioned high anxiety. Still, as I stressed in the article on that Eclipse, I believe due to other aspects it will yield good effects, whether it appears that way in the short term or not. We are now at the turning point of the yearly Sun-Pluto cycle, and this New Moon should show the first appearance of the seeds sprouted last December.
The next New Moon will occur at 28 Aries on April 17, 2007, at 4:36 am PDT, and trine Pluto. This will help stabilize the on-going Plutonic emergences, stabilizing the transformational process in Fiery and inspired ways, helping us burn up old life materials to give Light/Life to the new that is promised by the Grand Fire Trines of this time. This is followed by the New Moon at 26 Taurus waxing quincunx Pluto, promising easy and natural adjustments toward our "well defined desires" which ensures the manifestation of our dreams. That will alter our lives in accord with how we have used our imagination to define role, function, and imagery precisely according to our individual standards and needs.
The New Moon of June 14, 2007, falls at 24 Gemini. This New Moon opposes Pluto, thus bringing its power to the surface in various ways, depending on how and what we've built relative to the beginnings of the New Moon conjunct Pluto of December 2006, and how we've dealt with the changes promised by the turning point of the Pisces New Moon square Pluto.
July 2007 breaks this pattern of traditional aspects between the New Moon and Pluto, since it falls at 22 Cancer on July 14 and is triseptile Pluto. Things will take some irrational turns after that, since that Lunation falls in the Cancer span of The Grand Irrationality. Cooperative, collective group endeavors mark that Lunation effect, so expect major forks in the road for individuals and nations.
August 12, 2007, the New Moon falls at 20 Leo, still trine, if wide, to Pluto. This will further harmonize and stabilize the purifications begun last December which have evolved up to that time, and show how we used the Grand Fire Trines wisely, or not. This is the last of the major aspects made between the on-going chain of New Moons to Pluto, since the next Solar Eclipse of September 11, 2007, falls at 19 Virgo and is not really square Pluto, though it does make a very obscure minor aspect in the "Faith" series made my dividing the circle by 11. The 2007 Virgo Solar Eclipse will challenge everyone to make a leap of faith to transform a duality into a form of mastery, however that applies.
On a final note, expect things to crank up significantly in terms of world transformation beginning December 2008 with the New Moon at 6 Capricorn conjunct Pluto at 2 Capricorn. That begins the chain of aspects to Pluto for all of 2009, with the New Moon in Aquarius of 2010 at 26 Aquarius significant, since it's conjunct Neptune and septile Pluto, showing another big fork in the road of destiny for all of us and humanity as a whole.
You can derive a lot of information about how the "Spiritual" planets (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) manifest by studying how the various New and Full Moons aspect them, since that's how the Transpersonal process shows itself from month to month. In any case, there's no need to freak out about the recent Pluto square; it's just one more element of "God's Footprints In Time" showing us a larger point of view.

Hi Robert, going through an intense time with both eclipses, so I´m already wondering about the next one in September. In your article you mention that the solar eclipse will fall at 19 Virgo. At an other site is says it will fall at 29:20 Virgo. I have Pluto at 18 and Uranus at 20 Virgo, so an eclipse at 19 would be right in the middle but at 29:20 would give me some space .... which one is it, 19 or 29:20?

Hi Katrina - The 30 Virgo Solar Eclipse happened in 2006, and I have several articles outlining what that was about. It's why we're all "escaping from a narrow destiny." The September 2007 Solar Eclipse will fall at 18 Virgo. I hope this clarifies.
Hi Ace - You're welcome. Laser beam purification can yield amazing results.

Hello Robert, regarding what you've written:
"since the next Solar Eclipse of September 11, 2007, falls at 19 Virgo and is not really square Pluto, though it does make a very obscure minor aspect in the "Faith" series made my dividing the circle by 11. The 2007 Virgo Solar Eclipse will challenge everyone to make a leap of faith to transform a duality into a form of mastery, however that applies."
I've found this about that aspect: "An Undecile occurs when two planets are plus or minus thirty-two degrees, forty-three minutes and seven seconds apart (approximately thirty-three degrees). An undecile is one-eleventh of a circle. Undeciles indicate psychic gifts. Where undeciles are found, modifications are required. Undeciles relate to the power of computers, science and technology. Undeciles resonate with Uranus, Fixed, Air and Aquarius energy."
How can this manifest and in which signs? How can we handle this influence?
Posted by: Alix | March 22, 2007 at 11:58 AM
Hi Alix - Well, I don't call them "undeciles," since a Decile is a semi-quintile, so I've always felt the term misleading. I call that series the "Elftile" series, since the word "Elf" means "eleven" in German. (Plus elf is a nicer word than "un" anything.) I do not believe they necessarily mean "psychic gifts" and ANYTHING could yield "modifications required." I don't believe they relate to computers or technology, or necessarily with Uranus. Someone has a very active imagination, but not connected to anything symbolizing "11" apart from a haphazard association with Aquarius, the 11th sign.
Briefly, (since this is a whole article in itself), 11 is non-rational, a quality it shares with the Septile series. But 11 being a Master Number requires transcendence of duality either a) through a form of mastery, or b) embracing a form of faith yielding a form of mastery in order to achieve the transcendence of Duality. If anything is Aquarian about this series, it's the fact that Aquarius is a synthesizing sign, which is what is required to transcend duality while immersed within it. I'll share more in an article soon. And this is exactly what exasperates me about most of what is published these days about astrological aspect meanings. It's not grounded or founded in ANYTHING coherent.

Hi Robert,
I think you always have wonderful, detailed, and insightful things to say about astrology. I have a question that I hope is not too off topic , but the recent March 2007 solar eclipse conjuncts my venus/mars in pisces exactly(well, close enough - venus 29 degrees pisces, and mars at 28 degrees pisces), and activates both my moon and neptune (25 gemini and 28 sag). Any general thoughts on how this solar eclipse will/has activated my chart and what possibilities it will open for my future?
Posted by: lotus | March 23, 2007 at 12:19 AM
Hi lotus - You'll have old Venus-Mars responses shut down and greater lights and forms come forth. Square the Moon-Neptune shows you could find a greater "cause" now that you're at the end of an old Neptunian view, once you see how the whole and the parts relate to each other, and enlarge your view by narrowing the focus. Things will be much clearer as Mars moves through Pisces and re-echos the squares and activates the Eclipse for all of us in whatever area it fell.

Robert,
I noticed while reading the above postings that the solar eclipse this September will be at 18 degrees Virgo. That's the degree of my sun. Can you give me some idea of what I might have to look forward to? Thanks.
Posted by: Michele | March 25, 2007 at 08:00 PM
Hi Michele - Well, it would seem that there will be current aspects of how you shine your light that will be shut down so that other elements can come forth. This will affect the houses where you have Leo and Virgo. Perhaps an old service will come to an end in the light of newer, more important ways of being effective. Much depends on the other aspects in force. And on a "final" note, that eclipse will be in the heart of the Virgo zone of "the Grand Irrationality," so expect for somewhat dramatic events to put you at a fork in the road of your Solar destiny. Each time the Grand Irrationality is triggered between now and then will offer you a "lesser fork" preparing you for what will happen after the eclipse in September 2007. And I'm SURE we'll speak before then!

Hello Robert,
I have been having a terrible time since last year,My dob is 27 March 1975,everything i do seems to be going wrong. My long relationship with a girl ended in a firey manner,i have met many accidents and currently going through a rough period in my work.
Robert, pls help me and tell me what is going on in my life and when is it going to end
Posted by: Satvinder | April 11, 2007 at 11:12 PM
Hi Satvinder - You're an Aries. We do better at beginnings, not endings. You, like the rest of us, are excaping from "a narrow destiny," whatever that has been. Relationships end when one or both know the other is not the Twin Flame, and then it's just a matter of how to do it with least wreckage. As an Aries, some of mine ended spectacularly, and my job was not to make it worse than it was. Sit with the problem, ask Spirit for the solution, and at the right time astrologically you'll get the answer as well as some degree of clarity about what to do about it. Uranus and NN on your Mercury is showing you your genius while Saturn opposed your Mars is showing you how to deal with repressed anger through gradual loving patience. Jupiter on your Neptune tredecile/trine your Sun for the next several months is opening new doors to freedom and opportunity. And remember, suffering is always overcome by one's willingness to do something to end it. Affirm the doors ARE opening, and affirm your willingness to do whatever it takes to embrace the new, the vast, the liberated, and go have some fun!

Hey Robert-
Could I have your D.O.B, T.O.B, P.O.B? Everything that I have learned about Astrology since February 06', via our consultations and this site as the HUB, is now bearing beautiful results in my personal life!
I once wrote to you in an email an idea that then may have come from the "Crown." A practical yet inventive food-business venture. As I embrace my path in the moment, rather than to resist it, I am finding much more contentment and happiness!
To date Astrology has brought me great confidence. I am truly amazed each day by the path that I am on in my "intersection of fate and free will," in the good times and challenging times. Thank you for your contribution to the "great work."
Gotta go serve,
Love and Blessings,
Don.

Hi Don - Glad you're hanging in there and doing well. April 1, 1951, 1:13:40 pm, Upland, PA (a suburb of Chester). I have what could be considered an extremely difficult chart, but also one that has some amazingly special qualities. I suppose that's why my autobiography would be a) a tragedy of monumental proportions, b) a magical tale of dreams come true beyond my wildest imagination, or c) both of the above, depending on how I wanted to write it.

Hi Robert,
Thanks for the wonderful advice,i do feel a bit better now, knowing that things are going to get better..and its also true that i deal with beginnings better than endings.I cant get her off my mind and it feels so pain everytime i think of it.I hope and pray everyday that my life would change for the better and all that i am going through right now is just a karmic "pay back".I really hope that the new moon in aries would bring change for everyone (including you robert) and may it be the best year to come
Posted by: Satvinder | April 12, 2007 at 11:44 PM
Hi Satvinder - Try to remember Lincoln's dictum that "A man's just about as happy as he makes up his mind to be." That gives us some degree of perspective on the passing white noise of our earthly existence. I believe relational wreckage and pain help us distill unconditional Love out of conditional love, always a good thing, even if difficult. Just focus on the Love you shared and ARE, find compassion for yourself and her and everyone else who must say goodbye, even if temporarily. It always hurts, but strengthens the heart if we don't get distracted by unfortunate attitudes and behaviors. Face your future determined to attract the right mate at the right time, and until then, "gather your medicine" and welcome the life renewals promised by Jupiter. And of course, practice detachment, dispassion, discrimination, and generate as much goodwill as you can, since these will lessen your suffering and make you the kind of person anyone would like to be around.

"The 2007 Virgo Solar Eclipse will challenge everyone to make a leap of faith to transform a duality into a form of mastery, however that applies."
Hi Robert,
I'm very intrigued by this eclipse combined with this aspect on September 11th, I sense that many things will happen then. And there'll also be the conjunction of the South Node with Saturn at the end of September/beginning of October, both conjuncting each other at 5th of Virgo (where I have Pluto)... many, many important events and a lot going on...
By duality you mean some hidden and unacknowledged talent?
Posted by: Alix | May 09, 2007 at 12:42 PM
Hi Alix - Well, the world is duality in the 10,000 ways. It'll be in the leap of faith that we will overcome some form of duality in our life, and in that leap of faith we will attain our particular form of mastering that kind of duality. Not necessarily a talent, but a way of moving through uncertainty and dualisms and resolving potential problems rather than falling into strange states of mind and feeling. Gifts and talents are more associated with the quintile series.
