This week continues the incredible string of Grand Fire Trines I've been discussing, with the Sun entering the configuration, vitalizing, illuminating, and harmonizing at least half of our reality. This is quickening things for the better, though it may seem very strange at times due to the Sun also being in the Aries zone of The Grand Irrationality, showing major forks in the road for all.
As I've noted in other articles, The Grand Irrationality is why everything feels much weirder than it used to, with hard edges and widespread irrational and/or compulsive behaviors more and more evident. Sometimes these energies grow stronger than at other times, depending on where the planets are. The link to The Grand Irrationality will explain more about this widespread long term influence in depth, along with internal links in that article that explain more about the larger field and what we can do to maneuver it successfully.
Right now the hot zones of The Grand Irrationality fall at 26-30 Sagittarius, 17-22 Aquarius, 9-13 Aries, 1-5 Gemini, 22-25 Cancer, 13-17 Virgo, and 4-8 Scorpio at this time in history. This pattern is setting up the generally strange atmosphere, a lot of compulsions coming to surface as well as forks in the road of our destiny in several areas of life, and overall one long hard edge of choices, changes, and a future that never is quite as logical as we may like.
In dealing with the generic weirdness, remember that even if things get very bizarre or irrational, we are not powerless. Even if destiny is "on the move," we still can steer the process to some degree, if we don't lose our cool in the midst of the great weirdness. We’re learning in these strange times not to lean too heavily on "things making sense," and how to fly by the seat of our pants, not going funky places we shouldn't, and making choices that will propel us into an evolving future that may not make much sense but is perfect for the uniqueness we are.
It is definitely a time of making decisions that will affect our futures, and with the Fire Trines, open to the light that consumes old deadwood, moving on to new fuel. Pluto's recent stationary point shows we're in the middle of several weeks of getting in shape to fulfill a blessing in the future, and with Jupiter going stationary retrograde this week, it marks the threshold of major openings that will come as we let go of past ghosts and continue to ride the waves of change promised by the last 4 eclipses.
We are still being heavily impacted by the recent Pisces Solar Eclipse. All Eclipses take something away, creating space for newer things more appropriate to our evolving consciousness. As I've noted, the Eclipses of March 2007 will ultimately prove very favorable, bringing us a new way to view "the movie of our life," as well as endings within the collective consciousness and unconscious. Keep releasing old toxic factors in your life, make clear and definitive decisions that purify whatever needs it, and follow the seeds of a greater Spiritual future that will be expanded by Jupiter later this year.
There will be radical and abrupt completions to things affected by the March Solar and Lunar eclipses. The North Node in Pisces in those Eclipses shows the qualities we should develop to demonstrate what we're learning through the Virgo South Node. Practice efficient adaptability through compassion, forgiveness, and glimpsing larger possibilities. End whatever needs ending to be free to move into a mysterious unknown to receive a harvest that nourishes us at "the end of the day." More on how these Eclipses work at this link.
As I noted last week, through these Eclipses we will see many things fade into the landscape of our life movie and experience more our oneness than our separateness. Use the skills I've outlined here when dealing with those who are critical, worried, fussy, nitpicking, or too uptight. And of course, remember that everything that has happened since September 2006 and for years to come are offering us opportunities to "escape from a narrow destiny" begun at the Autumn 2006 Eclipses. We're all being trained to be fluid in our compassionate adjustments, holding some empty space that will be filled at the right time, and preparing to use the Heart strength we've cultivated during Saturn in Leo in a form of practical service when Saturn enters Virgo September 2, 2007, at 6:49 am PDT.
Mercury sextile Venus was a strong factor in those eclipses, and still continues to play a major part this week in providing forms of genius and geniality to be a natural experience. This is harmonizing our Earth and Water areas, and specifically wherever we have Pisces and Taurus. It also harmonizes our Gemini and Virgo energies with our Taurus and Libra energies, so communication should be easy, steady, flowing, and at times brilliant due to the Mercury conjunct Uranus. Let your lower mind express the compassionate, intuitive, unitary awareness of the Higher Mind, or Universal Mind, and enjoy the vast feelings of merging with the Absolute, to whatever degree your mind will allow.
We've been learning how to break free of heavy feelings related to others past and present, and find gentle enjoyable ways of relating as individuals to others through glimpsing our uniqueness and genius. The areas of maximum impact are from 20 to 30 degrees of Pisces and Taurus. Any planets we have in Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, or Pisces can be harmonized and specialized through sextiles and quintiles made to planets in these signs. Though it affects everyone one way and another, great progress can be made by people born in the mid-60s and mid-80s, due to those generations' Neptune and Pluto being very favorably aspected, as well as the Uranus of each, but for different reasons.
Have you noticed that Venus in Taurus has already begun to work its Earth Angel magic? There's a gentle, grounding energy that wasn't here even a week ago, helping us enjoy life more fully, and "plow forward" in the Taurus and Libra areas of activity. This grounds the Fire energies pervading these times, so enjoy basic pleasures that make you feel more focused, grounded, and stable.
Jupiter continues to prepare us for future conditions through thorough action and going deeper in understanding what we must sacrifice to prepare for a future coming soon. This week it goes stationary retrograde. Keep cultivating foresight and redirect energy with an eye to this being a month-long glimpse at things to come in October.
This week Mars is in the "Transfiguration zone" of the final degrees of Aquarius, activating the New Moon of Aquarius that fell at 29 Aquarius. Mercury's recent retrograde went over that span three times in February and March, so now it's time to demonstrate whatever "spiritual power" we have been trained to express. Mercury continues to speed up, preparing for its "Superior conjunction" with the Sun on May 2-3 at 13 Taurus which will mobilize us all.
Every New and Full Moon for the next few months continues to show the influence of Saturn opposition Neptune. Saturn in Leo has brought important questions to the forefront for all of us. What is our message? Where is our heart's interest? Where is our play, our creativity, our enthusiasm, our spontaneity, our pleasure? These can show us the way to our higher purpose.
As I've noted in past articles, Saturn is the nozzle for focusing planetary energies due to sitting opposite all of the other planets except the Moon. During past and future months, the primary line of tension and awareness is dominated by Saturn opposed Neptune, symbolizing the generic oppositional polarizing tension we've had to deal with since late 2005 and be living with through Summer 2007. Saturn is the means as well as the forms of expressing Neptunian energy
This opposition represents an on-going lesson in managing dualisms and tensions through bringing the reality and the ideal back into balance. Find creative idealism, be loving when confronting the collective consciousness and unconscious, and focus on love and friendship as you learn to be patient and mature directors of an on-going Self-transformation. Get a clear focus on what your ideals truly are and how to achieve them using Saturn's discipline, organization, and persistent endeavor.
Saturn shows us how to focus the power of the NOW into forms appropriate to our highest evolutionary intention. It is the planet symbolizing Dharma, our Ultimate Purpose or "True Function." It requires focus, and making time our ally to achieve the steps toward our Leo heart's intention and enthusiasms. We can find natural ways to get work done quickly, reorganize our lives and affairs, and find creativity and enjoyment in doing our worldly thing.
From September 2006 through August 2007 Saturn continues to put pressure on 18-26 degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. Right now it’s focused on 18-20 degrees of these Fixed signs, and why sometimes things feel more stuck than others. Generate the virtues of these signs to express Saturn the best possible way. Simplify, purify ideals and lifestyle, and be as noble and loving as possible. We are learning over time, using patience to come to maturity, to break up pessimistic, inert, or unhelpful attitudes and needless drifting to enjoy life more fully and creatively.
As noted in previous articles, the theme of the first six months of 2007 is seeing how the lower self is being joined to the Higher Self through the death of useless things, and emotional stress is bringing forth forms of “spiritual linkage.” Saturn opposition Neptune will continue to show hard realities and greater ways to make our experience, discipline, maturity and wisdom real through August 2007.
Another on-going factor in the generic tension is the Jupiter square Uranus through October 2007. Now that Jupiter is retrograding back toward the square that becomes exact over the next 8 weeks, expect this long range influence to dominate affairs. The effects will be strongest when any planet goes through 15-20 degrees of Pisces, Gemini, Virgo, or Sagittarius. It will definitely affect planets in our charts in these zones very powerfully. Briefly:
On-going tension and erratic energies are primarily due to the Jupiter square Uranus... volatility will be in the air, with unexpected setbacks for some, unexpected opportunities for others, and generally huge nervous tension for all. Big schemes concocted during this time are subject to unexpected challenges and twists and turns.... try not to let the tension get to you as you show faith that whatever "forced growth" you're subjected to in early August 2007 is leading you to your deepest "physical enlightenment" and methods of presenting yourself and your works for recognition. This forced growth is directly related to whatever we've been going through in early January... this aspect challenges us to get a grip on our temperament and get oriented so we can put our drive in gear to embrace a larger adventure on our own unique terms... it's truly a turning point in the adventure promised late in 2006 with Jupiter's entry into Sag, so show discernment, pay attention to details, and find ways to communicate.... many good liberations and visions can come out of this turning point in the larger affairs of our world and our lives.
The week begins with the Full Moon at 13 degrees of Libra culminating at 10:15 am April 2. As I noted last week about this weekend leading up to the coming week:
All in all, should be a fairly productive time, despite the point of the "change of cosmic tides" promised by Pluto going stationary retrograde at 29 Sagittarius on March 31 at 3:44 pm PDT... April 1 (great day that it is!) brings us the Moon's entry into Libra at 8:43 am PDT. Great for all kinds of things, this period should be very unique and full of changes due to the high tension and genius of Mercury conjunct Uranus, Venus square Saturn, and the impending Full Moon...
The Venus square Saturn will help us attune to knowing things from subtle sources, as well as mobilize everything we've got to overcome some frictional stuff affecting our Taurus, Leo, Libra, Capricorn, and Aquarius sectors. Venus in Taurus is extremely powerful, pleasant, and determined, so we should be able to demonstrate what we've learned of positive Saturn in Leo energies at this time to focus in on our higher purpose with magnetism that fulfills and stabilizes what Saturn has been teaching us and how we're doing that Dharmic function.
That Full Moon features a Grand Fire Trine with lots of supporting Air, so get ready for the energies to diversify even more, bringing new information and perspectives that will electrify many lives, bringing things to an end once and for all as they are burned up by the NOW. Even though there's a Mercury square Jupiter and Venus square Neptune that culminate on April 4, these should release a lot of energy, helping us turn certain corners and reorient toward a greater efficiency and adaptability.
Keep feeling the Springtime energies, helping us remember that Life is alive and in motion. Go with the new ideas and energies that are feeding fire to the recent transfigurations. Break free of obsolete ideas and interpretations and see things from a different point of view.
April 2, 3, and 4 the Venus square Saturn opposition Neptune is exact, throwing the void into 19 through 22 degrees of Scorpio. The void sign shows either the problem or the solution (or both) so purify, let go of stuck feelings, examine your magnetism and why you are or are not attracting what you want or don’t want, and regenerate. There are many supportive harmonizing Lunar aspects on April 2 and 3, so find the balance and try to see it as old karmas being taken care of.
This Venusian T-square helps us understand what we need to do when the Moon in Scorpio creates a Grand Fixed Cross. Much will fragment, and at the highest levels, it opens the door to a greater Spiritual purpose and function. By releasing stagnant energies, we can attract what we need in order to fulfill the potential of the Saturn opposed Neptune. We are aided by a very productive Mars sextile Pluto, activating the "graduation into a new realm of being" promised by those Aquarius degrees. Any planets in the final degrees of Fire and Air signs will be benefited, as well as the houses they occupy and rule in our charts.
The Moon enters Scorpio on April 3 at 9:36 pm PDT, meaning April 4 everywhere east of CDT. Any time the Moon goes through a Fixed sign (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) we have major effects related to the ongoing Saturn opposition Neptune challenging "right action" on our part. The opposition was exact from mid-February through mid-March 2007, persists through the next few weeks, and will be exact from late May through mid-July 2007. Every time the Moon triggers this effect, it reminds us of the strength we've received as a result of breaking up old patterns the past 18 months.
As I've noted, the Fixed sign squares and crosses of late 2005 through late 2006:
... for the most part 1) broke some things up forever, 2) challenged us see what to clear out, 3) made us evaluate what to "put on the shelf for the future," and 4) opened up solid paths of personal, social, and spiritual development associated with things, heart, magnetism, ambition, and idealism. We were all challenged to one or more of the following: persevere despite difficulties, cut our losses when blocked by intransigent obstructionists, stabilize what which was unstable, or break apart that which was stuck in the mud.
The Moon in early Scorpio is in the zone of the Grand Irrationality discussed earlier, and triggers that powerful weird irrational effect. Every time the Moon triggers the Grand Irrationality we experience a form of a turning point of sorts, where the seeds of the future will stand revealed. Besides April 3-4, the Moon will also trigger the Grand Irrationality when it goes through late Sagittarius on April 8-9 and conjuncts Pluto at the Galactic Center, nurturing the seeds of major large scale change indicated by this 250-year cycle affecting everyone on Earth. Jupiter is helping the growth of these seeds throughout 2007, so every time the Moon goes through Sag we should see these positive seeds get larger and stronger in our lives.
The Lunar Grand Cross is active April 5, with a beneficial trine to Mercury and Uranus in Pisces to help our understanding. That day Jupiter goes stationary retrograde at 6:24 pm PDT, followed immediately by Mars' entry into Pisces 1:51 am PDT April 6.
The Moon enters Sagittarius on April 6, and the square to Mars cautions us to decrease impulsiveness, irritability, and pay attention to details while not getting scattered. Follow your curiosity, but don't let it run you into a ditch. After the square in early Sag, the rest of the Moon's stay in that sign should be great, since it plugs into the Grand Fire Trine dominating the entire week.
When we factor in the very harmonious Venus quintile Uranus along with Mercury in Pisces sextile Venus in Taurus also discussed earlier, this should be a very pleasant, stabilizing, inspired time. Over April 7 and 8, the Moon trines the Sun and Saturn, conjuncts Jupiter, and sextiles Neptune just as the Sun trine Saturn is exact April 8 at 4:56 am PDT. This effect is very strong for several days, and also features the exact Sun trine Jupiter at 5:07 pm PDT on April 9. These aspects will impact the next two weeks enormously, so lighten up, brighten up, and go with the inspiration!
The Moon enters Capricorn April 8 at 8:36 pm PDT, and immediately harmonizes with Mars and Uranus, a good thing since Mercury square Pluto is in effect through April 11, exact on April 10 at 12:23 am PDT. Be a pioneer, don't get distracted by other people's negativity about the problems, and focus on the potentials that are there despite the supposed limiting conditions. Bust lies or misconceptions, don't necessarily believe everything you're told, and find ways to re-weave your song to your world while revising ideas back to source if need be.
This important square will show us the "gestative power" of whatever Wisdom-form we've been pursuing up to now, and reveal "seed knowledge" that can provide a foundation for forms of renewal. We're finishing up our training in some way over the next week and a half, and being given another chance to envision or re-think our best and highest dream for our future.
Mercury will be transiting the 30 degree Pisces point of archetypes on April 10, so take a new look at Pisces 30 - Archetypes, Thoughtforms, Dreaming the Future, and our Power to Make it Real since on that day we can use Mercury, "Guide of Souls," to coordinate what was vitalized by the Sun crossing that point. This "dream" will start to be evident by mid-May, when Mars goes over the point and further activates Pluto conjunct the Galactic Center through its square.
This week should be great for inventiveness, inspiration, and resolution of confusion, conflicts, and blockages that we do not want nor need. The Sun and Jupiter are harmonizing the Saturn opposition Neptune in long term understandings that will lead us to liberation from oppressive conditions if we don't cling to perceptions and ways of viewing things that are untrue, rapidly fading, or self-defeating. Break up rigidities, purify your life of actions, feelings, and thoughts that undermine your hope or momentum, and open to receiving a new inspiration.
As I've noted about this time over the past few weeks, this is the front end of a new wave of inspired activity and new initiatives, so move forward, use spiritual energies to check up on different elements of your life to make sure you're doing what you want rather than living with burdens you don't need to carry, and ride the Fire, since the next four months are going to be much different than what we've been living with for a while. The Solar Eclipse is already ushering in many changes, so say goodbye to the old as you leap to greet the new.

Hi Jim - I guess that means you're having a good time! Glad you're doing so well with what I've written.
Hi Larissa - Thanks for the praise. At least I've found something the world needs, I love to do, and can do it well. As they say in Texas, "Even a blind pig roots out a truffle sometimes." ;-)

Robert, you are lucky because you love what you do and you are the best at it. I always wanted to be a surgeon. I ended up teaching, then doing indepth medical research. I love big independent projects. I read this article and have noticed too and feel nicely the presence of Venus in Taurus and feel its magic now. It feels even stronger than ever. I hope full moon in Libra in April is good for us, Aries. Librans in general are charming, except sometimes I get somewhat impatient with their beautiful balance since it feels they are balancing for too long.

Happy Birthday Robert,
Isn't this full moon the first of the three High Moons? Can you say something about this? Love to hear your perspective.

Hi all - thanks for the birthday greetings. Elvis has left the building, but I haven't. 3 High Moons? Sounds like an article involving the upcoming Wesak Festival to me! Thanks for the birthday wishes, Vic. What you said is sweet. I do affirm that I (or we, whatever that looks like!) shall be given all we need to accomplish what is to come. There is much to do these next few years, and it's going to take time, energy, and money.

Hi Robert,
Quick question..(?)
I have a Libra sun with Aries rising. After eading the above, it is hard not to get curious about the Full moon in Libra during aries sun.
any comments?
thank you
Posted by: beingstill | April 01, 2007 at 10:02 PM
Hi H - Thanks. I'm sure we'll speak soon.
Hi beingstill - Well, the ruler of your 4th will be opposed the ruler of your 5th, and the light on your self image will find a form through your natal light. That's just one interpretation, but you can bet there will be realizaitons about how you view you and your illumination through others. The Light of Aries will show you your unique way of being you, to find form in a new creative self expression through a new illuminated archetype of integrity.

Who can tell me what the very bright star or planet is that I can see in the night sky right now? It looks too big to be a star really. Thanks!
Posted by: Linda | April 03, 2007 at 10:53 AM
Hi Linda - What time of night, and where is your location? If early evening, it's Venus. If late evening, Saturn is high but setting, whereas Jupiter is rising in the east. If late late night, and high in the sky, it's probably Jupiter. Mars is a "morning star" right now just before dawn.
Posted by: Robert | April 03, 2007 at 11:17 AM
Hi Robert -
Sorry, I meant to say my location. I first noticed it in Costa Rica last week where the sky is so clear and I was driving West. Then back in North America, on the East Coast (but still heading West) I noticed it again last night about 9pm (about the same time as in CR, given the time difference).
Thanks so much!!

..born in 1980 and already want to get married? I would not do that if I were you. :-)
Posted by: Larissa | April 03, 2007 at 12:48 PM
It must be that full moon in Libra gives an inclination to think about marriage and partnerships.
Posted by: Larissa | April 03, 2007 at 01:51 PM
Hi mohammad - What you ask for is waaaay too much for a comment stream. You need a session with a professional astrologer to get those kind of in depth answers. That said, you will do well as a result of the Fire Trines this Spring and Summer, Jupiter is in a favorable sector in your chart, you are ending a 7 year cycle, and approaching your Saturn Return. This brings endings and beginnings, and the assuming of new responsibilities. Your next two years will show you wnat you can and cannot control, and you will learn that what happens is not as important as your reaction to it and handling of it. Your life will take off in June, and your way will become clear by August. Enjoy the ride to come!
Hi Larissa - Well, as one who was in his second marriage by the age of 25, I couldn't possibly comment about such a thing ;-) I do agree that as a rule, we who marry young usually do so as a result of unconscious pressures originating in family or culture. Once we get over them, we have a shot at a conscious relationship. And of course, you and others who come here know that my bottom line is to cultivate the genuine friendship first, and romance second. That's the only sound basis for relating in the first place. Anything less is a dance we do with someone who is not our friend. Is it any wonder why so many marriages end?
Posted by: Robert | April 03, 2007 at 02:00 PM
I agree that friendship gives a good foundation. However, my boss told me that a man could not possibly be my friend. He smiled when I said I was looking for a friend. He had that smirk on his face, meaning it is impossible. I married late for my culture (at 29) and only because my relatives were pressuring me. Marriage was never on my mind and the whole idea was sort of frightening. My ex proposed in one week after we met and all went too fast. Shortly after we got married I realized we had very little in common with my Virgo husband. It was a very quiet lifewith its budgeting limitations and its comfort, but my fire died. Instantly. My marriage was like an empty cold icehouse giving me chills each day. What I was going to say, Robert, love must be there.
I agree that friensdship first is a good idea, however love must be there too, not a habit. Since we brought it up, I have to say I married my ex to forget another man I loved. Call me a pig if you'd like, but I could not find another way out. OK, I think I gave up too much info here, bottonline - good thing if friendship can come first, if such thing is even possible.
Posted by: Larissa | April 03, 2007 at 04:09 PM
Hi Robert -- One more thing: each of us has a different opinion, but one marriage was enough for me. I am out. I would have an eternal lover for my self, but do not want to get married again.
Posted by: Larissa | April 03, 2007 at 04:15 PM
Hi Larissa - Perhaps I need to elaborate on what friendship means to me. True friendship is the exteriorization of love, as Leo and Aquarius oppose and thus manifest the other. Without friendship there can be no real love, just infatuation, attraction, seduction, playing games, or whatever.
Love and friendship are always united as two manifestations of one energy. Where there is true friendship, there will be love, and never indifference. True friends love each other no matter what. Then it's merely a question of what kind of love: eros, philia, or agape. If eros, then we have a romantic friendship, the stuff of classic love stories of two who "are meant for each other." If philia, we have a closeness and caring beyond description. If agape, then we are united in universal love. All are a good basis for relating. And of course I am sorry you married the wrong man for the wrong reasons. No one should endure a loveless marriage. That's hell, not marriage.
Posted by: Robert | April 03, 2007 at 04:24 PM
I regret I started this. Now I am all upset.
Posted by: Larissa | April 03, 2007 at 04:39 PM
Hi Larissa - Of course, old relationships can be a difficult memory, yet I found that in accepting the task of turning conditional forms of love and relating into unconditional Love in whatever form I was able, even for a moment, I grew into something beyond the pain of my former life. Not easy, but crucial. The old hurts became a dream for my Loving evaluation, and in examining that I became stronger than I imagined. I had my heart broken many times over decades before I finally got it right. And every "failure" became a building block for my future successes in living love on its own terms.
Posted by: Robert | April 03, 2007 at 05:12 PM
OK.
Posted by: Larissa | April 03, 2007 at 05:20 PM
Nice explanation, Robert. It is not actually about the memories, I freed myself from it not long time ago. Nothing holds me up. But what I think I need and expect is magic, and when magic and romance is missing, everything is missing. MEN are not romantic these days. Maybe what I really need is a stronger man who would put me right in place, sometimes... ( at least he can think he did :-)... and yet, he needs to be strong in every sense of this word... Good evening, everyone. Bon Soir.
Posted by: Larissa | April 04, 2007 at 04:16 PM
Hi Larissa - You're right - most people are not very romantic these days. Something about a constant drumbeat in the media about everything that's wrong and violent and edgy in our world. And we know how deadening those can be. Yes, you DO need a strong man, since you are a very strong woman. And many men are unclear about their strength these days. I tried to help many men get clear about their strength during my years doing men's gatherings, but on the whole most men have no idea who they are or what they're doing, which is to the world's detriment. It may take a major crisis to awaken them to their power.

Thanks Robert. I've been trying to figure out a few things as I have Jupiter in the 1st house in Libra, Neptune & Venus in the 2nd in Scorpio, Uranus & the moon in Leo in the 11th and Pluto, the Sun, Mars & Mercury in Virgo in the 12th. I've been so on edge but the skies are lifting and I know better days are on the way. This transformation feeling is wonderful and so long overdue for me. Thank you so much for this explanation. It has truly helped. I know the days ahead are not going to be easy but I know they will be transforming. You're the best at what you do. Keep on inspiring us.
