Today's article isn't astrological, but important nontheless. In the midst of the turmoil created by a lone whackjob, I have again revisited something I've maintained for a long while. There are too many guns, and while the NRA insists that "guns don't kill people, people kill people," in the final analysis bullets kill people. In fact, bullets kill or seriously injure almost any living thing they hit; and yes, if you shoot a tree or a cactus often enough it will die, just like people and animals.

Today we look at why many are still dealing with large challenges despite the positive indicators of the Grand Fire Trines. Yes, it's due to the planets named in the title. These are major forces not to be ignored, since they persistently affect everyone in powerful ways. I've received many emails that things are very weird for a lot of people, with frustration due to a lack of clarity in some life areas and harsh, jarring realities in others. We'll be dealing with these for months to come, especially the Jupiter square Uranus, even as Saturn opposition Neptune will grow stronger through the end of June.

We started this global meditation about a week ago. It is interesting to note that in the past week, there has been a major breakthrough in the Darfur insanity, and also a story break internationally about a possible cause for the collapse of the honey bee population, both the subjects of our meditation. If you’re interested in the progress of this on-going thought-form, please continue reading.

The New Moon is the conjunction of the Moon and Sun, and sets the pattern for what will come during the next four weeks. This New Moon falls on April 17, 4:36 am PDT, at 28 Aries, a degree of shedding new light on old ideas, views, and opinions, and busting illusions. We will all be held accountable for something in the house this lunation falls in. It is an extraordinarily well-aspected New Moon, and with Mars the ruler of the lights at 9 Pisces conjunct North Node and Uranus, expect Compassion to be a major theme, with a quickening that will spur us toward speedy attainment of some social goal.

This week we get new ideas and perspectives on the Fiery Illumination process lasting several months thanks to the Grand Fire Trines made by Aries transits to Jupiter and Saturn. This helps our Gemini and Virgo planets and houses vitalize in harmony with Sag, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces planets and houses, stabilizing our understanding and ability to coordinate half of our reality. The New Moon initiates many new things, and Saturn on its station point shows a sea change coming in all our lives.

With Venus now entering Gemini, we begin a series of squares and oppositions between Gemini, Sagittarius, and Pisces that will dominate from now through mid-May, with a very important Grand Mutable Cross formed between April 26-28 by the Moon in Virgo. This marks radical shifts in the areas ruled by these signs, as well as Taurus, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn, and Aquarius. Thus 3/4 of our reality will be going through major change and perhaps stress, depending on your circumstances. The rest of the article is dedicated to explaining how we can best deal with these fragmenting energies.

The answer to the title is probably all of the above, just at different times. Knowing your particular astrological "formula" is key to understanding your strengths and how you naturally play life's choices and changes. Today we'll take a brief look at the way energy cycles through our lives and interactions with others.

Not long ago I offered that some points in time are especially potent for our meditations to become real. After deliberating on ideas for a group meditation experiment where we might achieve measurable results, I think I've found an initial two that are crucial and we'll find out quickly whether what we're doing is effective. I'm announcing this now since Mercury is on the 30th degree of Pisces and so offers us the power to make Archetypes manifest. This is a slightly different group meditation than those usually done, but it's structured in a way that makes it possible for everyone around the world to participate. If you're interested, read on.

We all know that we seem to get along better with certain signs than others. That's the foundation of Relational Astrology, and gets to the heart of what parts of reality relate more or less harmoniously with other parts of reality. While then entire subject is more than we can address in one (or three!) articles, today I'll give you a sense of how the different signs relate to each other.

This week we bask in the afterglow of the Grand Fire Trine made by the Sun, Jupiter, and Saturn vitalizing, illuminating, and harmonizing at least half of our reality. Couple that with Mercury in the last degrees of Pisces giving our visualizing power focus and coordination, and we're entering a week of harvesting the best of the past lunations as we get ready for the New Moon at 28 degrees Aries on April 17.
