This week we bask in the afterglow of the Grand Fire Trine made by the Sun, Jupiter, and Saturn vitalizing, illuminating, and harmonizing at least half of our reality. Couple that with Mercury in the last degrees of Pisces giving our visualizing power focus and coordination, and we're entering a week of harvesting the best of the past lunations as we get ready for the New Moon at 28 degrees Aries on April 17.
Though the latter part of the week qualifies as an "old Moon," indicating there won't be a high level of energy then, it's probably a bit of a relief from the recent intense periods resulting from the Grand Fire Trines. Still, as Jupiter is now moving retrograde back toward its square to Uranus, it is increasing the overall tension, as well as expanded opportunities to specialize, individualize, and/or find our uniqueness. Since it's getting stronger through mid-May and will be in effect through October 2007, here's what I've condensed about this aspect:
...The effects will be strongest when any planet goes through 15-20 degrees of Pisces, Gemini, Virgo, or Sagittarius. It will definitely affect planets in our charts in these zones very powerfully... volatility will be in the air, with unexpected setbacks for some, unexpected opportunities for others, and generally huge nervous tension for all. Big schemes concocted during this time are subject to unexpected challenges and twists and turns.... try not to let the tension get to you as you show faith that whatever "forced growth" you're subjected to in early August 2007 is leading you to your deepest "physical enlightenment" and methods of presenting yourself and your works for recognition. This forced growth is directly related to whatever we've been going (since) early January... this aspect challenges us to get a grip on our temperament and get oriented so we can put our drive in gear to embrace a larger adventure on our own unique terms... it's truly a turning point in the adventure promised late in 2006 with Jupiter's entry into Sag, so show discernment, pay attention to details, and find ways to communicate.... many good liberations and visions can come out of this turning point in the larger affairs of our world and our lives.
This week the Moon in Pisces April 13-15 activates this square, which is already starting to move into high gear with Mars' recent entry into Pisces. This Mars conjunct Uranus energy will dominate the rest of April, culminating in the major Mutable T-square and Grand Cross occurring the last week of the month. I'll write more about that soon. For now, it's important to note that all of this mid-Pisces activity is stimulating the recent Pisces Lunar Eclipse effects. Please go to the link to learn more of what this important months-long influence is all about.
The North Node in Pisces in the recent Eclipses shows the qualities we should develop to demonstrate what we're learning through the Virgo South Node. Practice efficient adaptability through compassion, forgiveness, and glimpsing larger possibilities. End whatever needs ending to be free to move into a mysterious unknown to receive a harvest that nourishes us at "the end of the day." Since Pisces is the quality to grow into, bless it all, forgive it all, see the vaster infinite possibilities, and set sail into the unknown, since these eclipses usher in the next stage in a years-long process of "escaping from a narrow destiny" begun in Autumn 2006 Eclipses. Keep saying goodbye to elements of your life to create space to demonstrate your willingness and fitness to do some larger work in your world.
The Moon in Pisces this week will germinate the recent Pisces Solar Eclipse. Soon Mars will activate it in big ways. All Eclipses take something away, creating space for newer things more appropriate to our evolving consciousness. As I've noted, though there will be radical and abrupt completions to things affected by these lunations, the Eclipses of March 2007 will ultimately prove very favorable, bringing us a new way to view "the movie of our life," as well as endings within the collective consciousness and unconscious. Keep releasing old toxic factors in your life, make clear and definitive decisions that purify whatever needs it, and follow the seeds of a greater Spiritual future that will be expanded by Jupiter later this year.
Over the next months and years, these Eclipses will assist many things to fade into the broader landscape of our life movie, and we'll understand many things from a broader point of view, allowing us to experience more our oneness than our separateness. Be alert to situations where there is criticism, worry, nitpicking, or uptightness. We're all being trained to be fluid in our compassionate adjustments, holding some empty space that will be filled at the right time, and preparing to use the Heart strength we've cultivated during Saturn in Leo in a form of practical service when Saturn enters Virgo September 2, 2007, at 6:49 am PDT.
Mercury is still sextile Venus for awhile, and both planets change signs this week, harmonizing different areas of our charts, but it's all good! This has been harmonizing our Earth and Water areas, and specifically Pisces and Taurus, making our Gemini and Virgo energies in a productive relationship with our Taurus and Libra energies. This is a time when communication should be easy, steady, flowing, allowing our lower mind to express the compassionate, intuitive, unitary awareness of the Higher Mind, or Universal Mind, and enjoy the vast feelings of merging with the Absolute, to whatever degree our minds have allowed.
This week still continues this pattern, but the productivity of the sextile moves into Aries and Gemini. Instead of Earth and Water, we now have Fire and Air harmonizing our Gemini and Virgo with our Taurus and Libra. Mercury enters Aries April 10 at 4:07 pm PDT, while Venus slips into Gemini April 11 at 7:15 pm PDT. We've been experiencing harmony in Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, and Pisces sectors, and will begin to experience harmony in the Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, and Aquarius sectors. This will affect the first 8 degrees of these signs between April 11-16.
With Venus' entry into Gemini, we also return to a time of no planets in Earth until April 17, when the Moon enters Taurus just before the Sun enters Taurus on April 20 at 4:07 am PDT. Expect the next week to be a bit ungrounded. You can find out more about this long term important influence by going to Astrology Imbalances in March 2007 - There Are No Planets in Earth Signs Right Now.
The week begins with the Moon in Capricorn. As I noted last week about this weekend leading up to the coming week:
... Over April 7 and 8, the Moon trines the Sun and Saturn, conjuncts Jupiter, and sextiles Neptune just as the Sun trine Saturn is exact April 8 at 4:56 am PDT. This effect is very strong for several days, and also features the exact Sun trine Jupiter at 5:07 pm PDT on April 9. These aspects will impact the next two weeks enormously, so lighten up, brighten up, and go with the inspiration!
The Moon enters Capricorn April 8 at 8:36 pm PDT, and immediately harmonizes with Mars and Uranus, a good thing since Mercury square Pluto is in effect through April 11, exact on April 10 at 12:23 am PDT. Be a pioneer, don't get distracted by other people's negativity about the problems, and focus on the potentials that are there despite the supposed limiting conditions. Bust lies or misconceptions, don't necessarily believe everything you're told, and find ways to re-weave your song to your world while revising ideas back to source if need be.
This important square will show us the "gestative power" of whatever Wisdom-form we've been pursuing up to now, and reveal "seed knowledge" that can provide a foundation for forms of renewal. We're finishing up our training in some way over the next week and a half, and being given another chance to envision or re-think our best and highest dream for our future.
Mercury will be transiting the 30 degree Pisces point of archetypes on April 10, so take a new look at Pisces 30 - Archetypes, Thoughtforms, Dreaming the Future, and our Power to Make it Real since on that day we can use Mercury, "Guide of Souls," to coordinate what was vitalized by the Sun crossing that point. This "dream" will start to be evident by mid-May, when Mars goes over the point and further activates Pluto conjunct the Galactic Center through its square.
The intensity of the Mercury square Pluto challenges us to bust old illusions and be self-reliant, going our way to see the potentials in things separate from the limitations of the conditions or other people's fears and concerns. This will show us how we need independence in our judgments, without getting deflected by strange notions or ideas.
The Moon enters Aquarius on April 11 at 4:23 am PDT, and makes some great aspects to all the other planets except Saturn. This will actually accent the Saturn opposition Neptune and show us how to release important Fire energies through Saturn, showing us our ability to transcend old limitations and generate new heart power and brought important questions to the forefront for all of us. What is our message? Where is our heart's interest? Where is our play, our creativity, our enthusiasm, our spontaneity, our pleasure? These can show us the way to our higher purpose.
As I've noted in past articles,
... Saturn is the nozzle for focusing planetary energies due to sitting opposite all of the other planets except the Moon. During past and future months, the primary line of tension and awareness is dominated by Saturn opposed Neptune, symbolizing the generic oppositional polarizing tension we've had to deal with since late 2005 and be living with through Summer 2007. Saturn is the means as well as the forms of expressing Neptunian energy.
This opposition represents an on-going lesson in managing dualisms and tensions through bringing the reality and the ideal back into balance. Find creative idealism, be loving when confronting the collective consciousness and unconscious, and focus on love and friendship as you learn to be patient and mature directors of an on-going Self-transformation. Get a clear focus on what your ideals truly are and how to achieve them using Saturn's discipline, organization, and persistent endeavor.
Saturn shows us how to focus the power of the NOW into forms appropriate to our highest evolutionary intention. It is the planet symbolizing Dharma, our Ultimate Purpose or "True Function." It requires focus, and making time our ally to achieve the steps toward our Leo heart's intention and enthusiasms. We can find natural ways to get work done quickly, reorganize our lives and affairs, and find creativity and enjoyment in doing our worldly thing.
From September 2006 through August 2007 Saturn continues to put pressure on 18-26 degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. Right now it’s focused on 18-20 degrees of these Fixed signs, and why sometimes things feel more stuck than others. Generate the virtues of these signs to express Saturn the best possible way. Simplify, purify ideals and lifestyle, and be as noble and loving as possible. We are learning over time, using patience to come to maturity, to break up pessimistic, inert, or unhelpful attitudes and needless drifting to enjoy life more fully and creatively.
As noted in previous articles, the theme of the first six months of 2007 is seeing how the lower self is being joined to the Higher Self through the death of useless things, and emotional stress is bringing forth forms of “spiritual linkage.” Saturn opposition Neptune will continue to show hard realities and greater ways to make our experience, discipline, maturity and wisdom real through August 2007.
Of course, the joker in the deck is that when the Moon is in Aquarius and conjunct Neptune, it also septiles Pluto, triggering The Grand Irrationality, showing major forks in the road for all. As you know, the Sun passed through the Aries zone of this configuration last week, and marked a turning point for many of us, whether we know it or not.
As I've noted in other articles, The Grand Irrationality is why everything feels much weirder than it used to, with hard edges and widespread irrational and/or compulsive behaviors more and more evident. Sometimes these energies grow stronger than at other times, depending on where the planets are. The link to The Grand Irrationality will explain more about this widespread long term influence in depth, along with internal links in that article that explain more about the larger field and what we can do to maneuver it successfully.
Right now the hot zones of The Grand Irrationality fall at 26-30 Sagittarius, 17-22 Aquarius, 9-13 Aries, 1-5 Gemini, 22-25 Cancer, 13-17 Virgo, and 4-8 Scorpio at this time in history. This pattern is setting up the generally strange atmosphere, a lot of compulsions coming to surface as well as forks in the road of our destiny in several areas of life, and overall one long hard edge of choices, changes, and a future that never is quite as logical as we may like.
In dealing with the generic weirdness, remember that even if things get very bizarre or irrational, we are not powerless. Even if destiny is "on the move," we still can steer the process to some degree, if we don't lose our cool in the midst of the great weirdness. We’re learning in these strange times not to lean too heavily on "things making sense," and how to fly by the seat of our pants, not going funky places we shouldn't, and making choices that will propel us into an evolving future that may not make much sense but is perfect for the uniqueness we are.
Every time the Moon triggers the Grand Irrationality we experience a form of a turning point of sorts, where the seeds of the future will stand revealed. Besides April 8-9 when it conjuncts Pluto at the Galactic Center, it also triggers this weird configuration on April 12-13 and again April 16 when it moves through the Aries zone while harmonized in the Grand Fire Trine.
As an aside, every time the Moon configures with Pluto in almost any way, it nurtures the seeds of major large scale change indicated by the 250-year cycle of Pluto conjuncting the Galactic Center, affecting everyone on Earth. Jupiter is helping the growth of these seeds throughout 2007, with a special focus every time the Moon goes through Sag helping us see these positive seeds get larger and stronger in our lives.
The Moon enters Pisces April 13 at 8:39 am PDT, and immediately squares Venus while conjuncting Mars, setting off the series of Mutable squares mentioned earlier. Pay attention to details, get organized, be practical and optimistic as you see larger views and truths that are coming into clearer focus by the week thanks to the Grand Fire Trines involving Jupiter and Saturn.
April 13-15 slow things down, take it easy, don't get involved in strange disputes, conversations, distractions, or coercions. Forgive a lot as you play your cards close to the vest, and don't necessarily believe all you're told. If there is a problem, "the devil is in the details," as it is said.
The Moon enters Aries on April 15, 9:47 am PDT, and is favorable to Venus all day. By April 16, it triggers the very benevolent Grand Fire Trine energy spoken of in this article. These trines help us remember that Life is alive and in motion. Go with the new ideas and energies that are feeding fire, quickening the recent transfigurations. Break free of obsolete ideas and interpretations and see things from a different point of view.
Open to the fire and light that consumes old deadwood, moving on to new fuel. Pluto's recent stationary point shows we're in the middle of several weeks of getting in shape to fulfill a blessing in the future, and with Jupiter going stationary retrograde last week, it marked the threshold of major openings that will come as we let go of past ghosts and continue to ride the waves of change promised by the last 4 eclipses.
The Grand Fire Trines for the next few months will have lots of supporting Air, so get ready for the energies to diversify even more, bringing new information and perspectives that will electrify many lives, bringing things to an end once and for all as they are burned up by the NOW.
A brief look at the week after this one shows us a New Moon in Aries followed by Moon in Taurus. Any time the Moon goes through a Fixed sign (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) we have major effects related to the ongoing Saturn opposition Neptune challenging "right action" on our part. The opposition was exact from mid-February through mid-March 2007, persists through the next few weeks, and will be exact from late May through mid-July 2007. Every time the Moon triggers this effect, it reminds us of the strength we've received as a result of breaking up old patterns the past 18 months.
As I've noted, the Fixed sign squares and crosses of late 2005 through late 2006:
... for the most part 1) broke some things up forever, 2) challenged us see what to clear out, 3) made us evaluate what to "put on the shelf for the future," and 4) opened up solid paths of personal, social, and spiritual development associated with things, heart, magnetism, ambition, and idealism. We were all challenged to one or more of the following: persevere despite difficulties, cut our losses when blocked by intransigent obstructionists, stabilize what which was unstable, or break apart that which was stuck in the mud.
This week should be good for following through on efforts initiated before now, bringing some things to completion and accomplishing more than you suspect. The main grind will be late in the week with the Mutable squares, but overall the Fire Trine is leading us to liberation from oppressive conditions if we don't cling to perceptions and ways of viewing things that are untrue, rapidly fading, or self-defeating. Break up rigidities, purify your life of actions, feelings, and thoughts that undermine your hope or momentum, and open to receiving a new inspiration.
Even though the Sun is leaving the Grand Fire Trine, the Moon picks it back up just in time to tag-team with Mercury's entry into the Grand Fire Trine after April 16-17 lasting through April 25-26. Overall, a very bright time, especially since the Sun is now beginning to trine Pluto and quintile Neptune. Intuition and perception should be sharper than usual!
As I've noted about this time over the past few weeks, this is the front end of a new wave of inspired activity and new initiatives, so move forward, use spiritual energies to check up on different elements of your life to make sure you're doing what you want rather than living with burdens you don't need to carry, and ride the Fire, since the next four months are going to be much different than what we've been living with for a while. The Solar Eclipse is already ushering in many changes, so say goodbye to the old as you leap to greet the new.

Robert,
Some time ago you mentioned that if there was a "malicious" aspect, it would be a jupiter-mars opposition. I have been angsting about this ever since since i have this opposition, with a mars conjunct ascendant. I have always been told that I had an unselfish and altruistic nature and I work towards good will and openness towards all people (and animals and nature). My area of studies was social justice. Are there any other indications with this opposition other than malice? I actually would consider myself the opposite of Henry Kissinger!
Are there any mitigating aspects or especially beneficent aspects to look for as well when considering red flag aspects?
I am also concerned because my Mars in Pisces is going to conjunct Uranus in Pisces later this month, only a few degrees from where my natal Ascendant conjuncts my natal Mars in Pisces. Is this really a transit that ought to cause concern?
Thank you for a great, illuminating site!

Hi Sara - I can state it was not me that thought that aspect would be malicious, since NO Jupiter aspects are malicious. At the very worst they can be duplicitous, hypocritical, extravagant, unfocused - but not malevolent. It had to be someone else who posted that comment.
I believe that Mars opposed Jupiter is someone who could be an inspiration to their world, taking the lead in expressing some form of Jupiterian teaching, protection, benevolence, and/or abundance. As for the Mars transit, it sounds like you're beginning a whole new 2+ year cycle, which will activate your uniqueness or originality or genius in some way. Slow down, meditate a lot, forgive even more, and feel deeply the awakening going on. You have two years of sensing the tidal flow that will show you your Higher Individuality.

Dear Robert,
THANK YOU SO MUCH! Yes, it was someone else -- I just checked.
I was really concerned about this (as I consider Henry Kissinger a war criminal) and soul searching to see if I was hiding something from myself. I can find some intermittent duplicity, hypocrisy, extravagance, and lack of focus -- yes -- I used to be very tempted by the commercial, materialistic culture around us when I was younger -- and I work to purify this (Saturn IS the nozzle (S)!) but I couldn't find malice.
Sometimes I have experienced momentary ill will when witnessing abusers/perpetrators (esp. in our national govt lately) and wished that some people reap a quick karmic return, but almost immediately, I try to work through to a higher level of compassion, because I know, as Einstein says, that we can't resolve problems at the same level of consciousness from which they were created.
My spiritual director (and yoga/meditation teacher) also told me to slow down, meditate and forgive more -- just today!
Thank you so much -- I have been worrying needlessly -- and also told that all worry is needless -- a huge lesson. And I have felt as if I am experiencing an awakening, integrating, a maturation -- at a deep, spiritual level -- in conjunction from connecting with and being mentored by deeply mature, focused global peacebuilders. As if the deeply hurt child inside of me has healed -- but retained a sense of what it feels like to suffer, feel alone and lost -- in solidarity and in compassion for those still suffering or in healing and recovery. The focus is now outward and grounded in a deep center.
Thank you again also for this site -- a very uplifting and illuminating public service with so much wisdom! Happy Belated Birthday, Congratulations on your Marriage, also! And All the Best in Europe!
Om Shantih, Namaste!!

Robert,
I have one more question, if this is not problematic. I think I need a larger reading now -- because I have just become aware of the role of eclipses in charts. I never paid attention to them before, and don't know that much about astrology anyway. However your articles have made me start to take a look.
My Venus is at 29,43 degrees Virgo, in the 7th/8th houses, exactly conjunct last year's solar eclipse. My Jupiter is at 20 Virgo. My Rising/Mars (almost exact conjunction) conjuncted this year's lunar eclipse in Pisces. My midheaven is at 20 Sag, v. close to the Galactic Center, with the Pluto/Jupiter transits now affecting them.
Do you see anything in particular I ought to look at in light of these
eclipses and transits? Am I right sensing a lot of change is happening in my life -- all over the place -- mostly very positive, with lovely Sagittarian mentors in my life now. Increasing activity in higher ed and peacebuilding-- on a global basis.
Posted by: sara | April 08, 2007 at 07:46 AM
Hi sara - Though important, I usually don't go into eclipse effects in my personal readings for people, since there is so much more going on that requires my focus. I can only cover so much in any given reading in which I'm usually going at warp speed (as my clients will verify!) ;-) Eclipses are important as "broad brush" indicators of larger endings. Usually they indicate the shift of how you express the planetary energies they touch, though of course we have multiple eclipses in the same signs that stay in effect for quite a while. Sorting it all out becomes a major task. I'm considering writing a short book to do just that in ways that would be intelligible to anyone who wanted to figure out their effect. But until I can rearrange my writing schedule, it's just another idea waiting for my time. And of course, by all means continue to do your higher ed and peacebuilding work. That's as valuable as anything we could do.

My dear Robert, Here I am back In Brunei as my grandaunt had passed on...been awhile since am back ..I noticed though that theres a lot of similarity between Aceh and Brunei,in term of culture and etc...most of my family here( my mom side) are wondering why I am still in Aceh and how can I survive there.None of my Bruneian relatives want to go there...somehow,I notice and knew the link are there which I couldnt explain rationally..yet,somehow,my ancestors that reside in Brunei does come from Aceh which I strongly feel..perhaps thats why am feeling so close to Aceh and refer to the acehnese as 'my people' ..do you reckon the eclipses and the grand irrationality had bring about this strong emotion about for me??am beginning to question, why I am so attached to Aceh as no one else feels the same, especially my relatives..thank u Robert...
Posted by: ann | April 08, 2007 at 10:39 AM
Hi ann - You have a Soul bond with Aceh. Perhaps it's an ancestral wisdom in your genetic makeup that is more aware of itself than in your relatives, who may be more outer oriented this lifetime. Brunei may be the place to raise money and awareness, since it's directly wired into the global media to whatever degree. And of course, your dedication to your ancient land is a good thing.
Don't know that I could directly attribute this to an eclipse, though of course it could be. Usually this kind of "trans-lifetime" connection in higher selfless service is indicated by Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto configurations and transits. The movement is awakened at the first stationary rx point, embraced during the subsequent transits, and finally accepted as a major part of the life experience when it moves into the next part of the sign.
Yes, the Grand Irrationality is pulling you (and us all!) into major choices and awarenesses, forks in the road of our self-realization journey. For you, this part of the path seems to have led you to understanding the ancestral connect more strongly, while seeing the differences between you and others in your family group (not necessarily the same as your "Soul pod.") This is obviously an individuation experience of a very high degree, and can open you to seeing nuances and subtleties between you and others in your family. I'm sure some of them just have attitudes, whereas others don't have resonance. The former temporarily obscures, whereas the latter is not in the same musical key.

Thank you Robert!
I will do some studying then on my own so I will have a sense of these eclipses. It does remind me of a dynamic form of emergent calculus putting together a synthesis complicated by constantly changing movements of the heavenly bodies. But I love astronomy, psychology, and modeling so I have the patience to do this.
May I ask what you focus upon in a reading -- I already know my chart and what the signs/planets/houses/aspects mean in terms of my chart "portrait" and those closest to me -- as I did some work on my own on these. And I also have an awareness of the transits, especially the long-lasting transits.
Do you do what is considered "karmic" astrology? I am able to study Vedic astrology with someone. But I think it is different.
Would you answer specific questions? Or do you have a set program that you do? should have asked this at the reading page, but wanted to THANK YOU for your answers to my questions!
Posted by: sara | April 08, 2007 at 07:08 PM
Hi sara - I'd like to think that my approach is in fact "Karmic astrology." I focus on who you are, what your strengths are, some antidotes for blind spots or weak points, some relevant symbols in the natal and progressed charts, your 7 year cycles, what you're going through, what you're about to go through, what you're learning from everything, and yes, I answer specific questions AND do my analytical discipline. I also consult the I Ching for some insights into things you're moving through. I tend to go into a lot of material at warp speed, weave many things together, and give you a clear sense of the Eternal Being who is experiencing life in a personality. My clients will attest that my readings are unlike any other they've had, packed to the nines in ways that each time you re-listen to the tape you get more out of it, even years after the initial reading.

Thank you my dearest Robert..
As I leave Brunei today,my heart is crying..as it is,now am back in Aceh,am still in that melancholy mood...tears keep on running, just couldnt stop.. :) how I wish all my family that I love so much could be here with me,in this ancient land ....we are all apart by land yet so close in the heart..If only I could learn how to use energy,I can always visit my family there without using airplanes ya?? :) oh well, guess that will only be done in lemuria and atlantis time...
Have a wonderful week Robert...
Love for always,

Robert,
I think there are just not enough Thank You's in the the world to have gratitude for your gift and wisdom. I was wondering today why I had hit another roadblock (thinking I have gone thru enough to have earned much more than some experiences) and came upon your truth which had many answers. I am working on integrating my very distant past with my current self, as well as letting go of people from that past who seem to still have the ability to trip me despite my "thinking" I have moved beyond their level of perception. I get caught in their world for a while before I remember that my world is, hopefully, at a little higher level of reality. Again, Thank You so much for your soullight.

Hi Robert... suz-d here....
my chart must be being activated- May 9, 1939, Oakland CA, 6:50 am
essentially....18 degrees Taurus Sun conjunct Uranus, Capricorn moon with a nearby Mars also in Cap, gemini rising, and all kinds of squares, oppositions, malefics and trines etc etc.... Today, out of nowhere, two men from east and west coasts both attacked me out of the blue. they had all their facts wrong, and projected all their sh*t onto me. it felt really horrible. neither of them have done any responsible emotional clearing or processing work, so they had no idea that what they were acting out was their own stuff which then came out onto me as emotional blackmail. I sense I must be clearing some stuff around men, but wondered if some sort of malefic is affecting my chart....
thanks as always for your wise counsel... and happy birthday to you!!!!

hi me again....
I just saw this headline
Mercury square Pluto as it enters Aries
my mercury is in aries.... being squared by pluto.... I wonder if that's the malefic that is affecting my communications
Posted by: suz-d | April 10, 2007 at 02:29 AM
Robert,
THANK YOU again! I am now pulling out my astronomy books to get a sense of the energies and movements -- I used to have a globe of all the constellations on my desk as a child -- and wanted to put stars on my ceiling. My father (who studied the sky through navigation used to take our family outside to see constellations and other movements). I have been videotaping eclipses on the educational channels for a while. I have always been drawn to astrology but the simplistic pop versions did not grab me and the dramatic style of some astrologers don't resonate with my own style. However your work is just fascinating, deep, wise and your style reflects such a high level of intelligence and morality at work -- with interdisciplinary knowledge of many subjects with a global (even larger) perspective).
I am now studying what you have written about eclipses and gleaning many insights. I will be back in touch by email when I feel like I have more understanding to approach a reading with the kind of personal expertise I feel I need to bring to this (I'm a diligent student (S)).
I am now seeing where aspects/transits have different potentialities, depending how one handles them. I have noticed this often in life -- how some people transform "crises" or life challenges into alchemizing events to make their characters stronger, clearer, more beautiful, more compassionate. And how others get "stuck" in repetitive mindsets and situations. I see much of history this way too. We do this collectively as well as individually. We can get muddied by other people's karma depending on our we interrelate with them, or uplifted by their karma and vice-versa. And the same with cities, regions, nations.
Your addressing these movements at different levels is so fascinating to me and helping me access my own intuitive takes. Thank you very much!!!! I hope to use the wisdom I am learning to uplift others -- including many whom would never look at astrology because of the pop stereotypes. I won't be able to let them know where I got my insights from, but people will keep listening (S). So thank you on their behalf!!

Hi suz-d - Thanks for the birthday greetings. Yes, you're describing a Mercury square Pluto almost perfectly. Mercury, ruler of your Asc, is elevated, so it's probable that things would work out in the public or professional sector. Saturn is also square your Sun, forcing you to turn the corner relative to external power trippers jamming your gears. Pluto does bring about responses that we may not be entirely responsible for, since Mercury square Pluto can bring out other people's compulsions and force us to keep focused on our conception of things apart from others' obsession on the hinderances, problems, minutae, etc. It also forces us to bust old lies and/or misconceptions, whether our own or another's. You should be doing better when Mercury in Aries moves through the Grand Fire Trine, burning up old communication hinderances.
Hi Sara - You're most welcome. I agree that some astrology sites aren't worth the time it takes to realize that they aren't worth the time, and some astrologers substitute drama for clarity. Thanks for your praise of this site and my work. I try not to waste anyone's time! ;-) You've hit on a fundamental truth about our human system when you write: "... aspects/transits have different potentialities, depending how one handles them... how some people transform "crises" or life challenges into alchemizing events to make their characters stronger, clearer, more beautiful, more compassionate. And how others get "stuck" in repetitive mindsets and situations."
If more people were aware of their power to change and grow into a greater ability to respond, however it is appropriate, we'd see most of the dysfunctionality of our world vanish pdq. And yes, getting "muddied" in strange karmas is a trap in a reality where dealing with our own is a big enough job. And truly, astrology is only one piece of the puzzle. The Ageless Wisdom is vast indeed!

most illuminating! this really makes sense.
you mention - You should be doing better when Mercury in Aries moves through the Grand Fire Trine, burning up old communication hinderances. -
when pray tell does that come around? knowing how quickly Mercury can potentially move, I do hope it moves right along! and always good to be burning up old communication hinderances
bless you robert for your help

Hi suz-d - Mercury will enter Aries in less than an hour, and begin to form a Grand Fire Trine when the Moon transits Aries next Monday, as per the article, since it triggers a "collection of light." From one point of view, you got blindsided by the Mercury square Pluto, which said more about them than you.
