The Week of April 23-30, 2007 - Mercury trine Pluto entering Taurus, Venus square Uranus sextile Saturn trine Neptune opposed Jupiter, Mars conjunct Uranus square Jupiter
by Robert Wilkinson
This week is a mixed bag of many important aspects affecting every planet except the Sun. Venus makes a rectangle opposing Jupiter configuring with Saturn opposition Neptune creating tension through the gap between the ideal and the reality, the theoretical and the practical. This extremely productive configuration is released and/or challenged by Mars conjunct Uranus square Jupiter, releasing those energies into mid-mutable degrees requiring us to pay attention to details and be able to multi-task by ordering things into their appropriate place in the larger scheme of things.
You can find out more about the Jupiter square Uranus and Saturn opposed Neptune by going to this link. You can also find out more by consulting last week's forecast for the time period we're in right now. In that article, please note the information about Saturn being the nozzle for the expression of energies right now, as well as the information about the long term effects of the multiple eclipse effects that we're still dealing with.
Since these are long range indicators of major change in collective consciousness and challenges to confront, I'll be reworking these articles in the near future in ways that make the information more accessible, As it is, some on-going configurations are making these weekly forecasts the articles that ate Cleveland given their ever-expanding size.
Venus square Mars kicks off a two-week period of changes, blockages created or removed, and interpersonal friction associated with this aspect which begins the first phase of the Mutable squares and Grand Cross active from now through early May. Everyone can expect BIG changes in the Aries, Taurus, Libra, and Scorpio life sectors, and it provides us with an opportunity to "square" ourselves and our personalities with more open values and minds, as well as more effective compassion and ways to bring closure to old life movies.
Venus is fairly important in heralding things to come right now, since soon it will close the gap between Saturn and the other planets, creating a Locomotive pattern by early May. Saturn will no longer be the nozzle for the other planetary energies, but it will be one of the brackets, along with Pluto, framing the Locomotive pattern that will predominate for many months to come. I'll explain the difference between the Bucket and Seesaw patterns we've been living with for awhile and the coming Locomotive pattern and its lunar variances in the near future.
As with last week, we're still "floating on a sea of Pisces," since we have a Mars-Uranus-NN conjunction there. Please go to the last weekly forecast to read more about the Mars in Pisces effect relative to the eclipses I've mentioned. As Mars moves through the mutable squares, it can release a lot of the rectangle energy if we've resolved our natal Venus-Mars, Venus-Jupiter, Venus-Uranus, Mars-Uranus, and Jupiter-Uranus aspects into positive behaviors.
Any difficult aspect merely challenges our ability to demonstrate that combination of energy productively. Given the quantity of these dynamic aspects, we shall all be forced to "step up to the plate," as it is said. Big changes are coming, so turn a corner, adapt through flowing through, beyond, and around obstacles into a more precise larger way of relating or doing productive activities. No doubt it's a time when meditations may be scattered, but also can be adapted to achieve greater precision.
Venus square Mars requires that we don't get deflected by momentary distractions, use the right means to achieve our ends, and keep a long view, as does Venus opposition Jupiter. We also must stay conscious of ultimate ends, not settle for lesser things when greater rewards are at stake, and not allow bizarre interruptions to throw us off our center. We must make things sufficiently sound to get a better handle on them, not jump to conclusions, and be alert to unexpected or strange opportunities that are blessings in disguise.
Take nothing for granted, be alert to shifting developments that could turn a different direction on a moment's notice, and watch out for bizarre types, who could be geniuses but also have some strange ideas and values. In any case, this series of squares and oppositions should help is reorient and understand how to find the balance where needed, and turn the corner in other areas, since squares are either the emergence of something (waxing square) or the fulfillment and culmination of a process (waning square).
The week begins with the Moon in Cancer. As I noted last week about this weekend leading up to the coming week:
The Moon enters Cancer April 21 at 10:50 am PDT just as Mercury makes the Grand Fire Trine with Jupiter and Saturn. Overall, an excellent day for liberating yourself from old pressures and burdens, and making primary decisions to turn a corner in your life. The favorable Lunar aspects continue into April 22, and with the favorable Mercury sextile Neptune, follow your intuition toward your inspiration without getting caught up in funky interpersonal gear grinds.
The Moon enters Leo on April 23 at 4:38 pm PDT, again putting the focus on Saturn as the nozzle for the Bucket energies, helping us get a focus on what responsibilities and duties are assisting our future to be made manifest. This will be of special note on April 24-25 just before and at the exact conjunction, since it will renew the Grand Fire Trine involving Mercury.
This week should be good for initiating new activities, getting inspired about ideas and visions and communications, and stabilizing energies in very good ways, despite the Venus square Mars. Just don't get distracted by short term issues or difficult people, pay attention to details, get a sense of humor and follow the big picture.
Moon in Cancer is good for gardening and beauty treatments, Of course, in the mid to late part of that sign it triseptiles both Neptune and Pluto making a very exotic "kite" pattern triggering The Grand Irrationality, showing major forks in the road for all.
As noted in other articles, The Grand Irrationality is why everything feels much weirder than it used to, with hard edges and widespread irrational and/or compulsive behaviors more and more evident. Sometimes these energies grow stronger than at other times, depending on where the planets are. The link to The Grand Irrationality will explain more about this widespread long term influence in depth, along with internal links in that article that explain more about the larger field and what we can do to maneuver it successfully.
Right now the hot zones of The Grand Irrationality fall at 26-30 Sagittarius, 17-22 Aquarius, 9-13 Aries, 1-5 Gemini, 22-25 Cancer, 13-17 Virgo, and 4-8 Scorpio at this time in history. This pattern is setting up the generally strange atmosphere, a lot of compulsions coming to surface as well as forks in the road of our destiny in several areas of life, and overall one long hard edge of choices, changes, and a future that never is quite as logical as we may like.
In dealing with the generic weirdness, remember that even if things get very bizarre or irrational, we are not powerless. Even if destiny is "on the move," we still can steer the process to some degree, if we don't lose our cool in the midst of the great weirdness. We’re learning in these strange times not to lean too heavily on "things making sense," and how to fly by the seat of our pants, not going funky places we shouldn't, and making choices that will propel us into an evolving future that may not make much sense but is perfect for the uniqueness we are.
Every time the Moon triggers the Grand Irrationality we experience a form of a turning point of sorts, where the seeds of the future will stand revealed. Besides April 22-23 when it moves through the Cancer zone, it will activate the Grand Irrationality on April 27-28 in the Virgo zone, and again May 1 in the Scorpio zone.
A longer range look shows Mercury in the Gemini zone the 2nd week of May, the Sun there mid-to-late May, followed by Venus in the Cancer zone and Mars in the Aries zone. This will create full 7 pointed Star patterns when the Moon is in Scorpio, as the transiting Angles will occupy the Gemini and Virgo zones four times a day, with the aspects exact in some places on Earth.
Moon in Leo good for dealing with garden pests and doing things that require fixity or long term stability. Many good things can be launched or stabilized April 24-25, and while there may be an unusual edge in the air due to the Venus square Uranus, clarity should prevail. Just figure out what you're expecting and why, and make sure it's in harmony with what you REALLY want, since sometimes our expectations are more hinderance than help.
The Moon enters Virgo 2:24 am PDT on April 26, and makes some very favorable aspects which should help us get a lot accomplished. Of course as it moves through mid-Virgo it triggers the Grand Irrationality followed quickly by it making the Grand Mutable Cross, fracturing some things and recombining much as I mentioned in the paragraph above. Ride out the multiple gear grinds the best you're able, pay attention to details, and allow whatever needs to fragment to blow apart, since what's left will be the materials for new building periods to come.
The Moon enters Libra 2:45 pm April 28, a volatile day due to the Moon square Pluto and Venus opposition Jupiter at the same time Mars conjuncts Uranus. Things could get waaay out of control in a heartbeat, so take no chances. When in doubt, follow your intuition and retreat. Look at April 29-30 as a "dues paying" time, when we shall see what must be expiated, or what we have expiated.
Some fairly great aspects dominate that time with the Moon harmonious to Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, and Neptune. April 30 features an exact Grand Air Trine, harmonizing the Moon, Venus, and Neptune, showing a great interactive atmosphere, so enjoy, reach out, make phone calls and/or get out and socialize. Ideals and friendships can become very clear, and many progressive and harmonious initiatives are favored.
A look into the week after shows the Moon entering Scorpio 3:41 am May 1, and about 24 hours later we'll have the Full Moon of Taurus-Scorpio, also known as the Wesak Festival, commemorating the Buddha's birthday, enlightenment day, and death day. Aum Mani Padme Hum! One of the "three high Moons," I'll do an article on that soon
Just remember that any time the Moon goes through a Fixed sign (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) we have major effects related to the ongoing Saturn opposition Neptune challenging "right action" on our part. The opposition was exact from mid-February through mid-March 2007, persists through the next few weeks, and will be exact from late May through mid-July 2007. Every time the Moon triggers this effect, it reminds us of the strength we've received as a result of breaking up old patterns the past 18 months. This T-square is active May 2-3, and so will exercise a major influence on the coming Full Moon.
As I've noted, the Fixed sign squares and crosses of late 2005 through late 2006:
... for the most part 1) broke some things up forever, 2) challenged us see what to clear out, 3) made us evaluate what to "put on the shelf for the future," and 4) opened up solid paths of personal, social, and spiritual development associated with things, heart, magnetism, ambition, and idealism. We were all challenged to one or more of the following: persevere despite difficulties, cut our losses when blocked by intransigent obstructionists, stabilize what which was unstable, or break apart that which was stuck in the mud.
Any square to the Saturn opposition Neptune shows us how to release important Fire energies through Saturn, offering us a chance to transcend old limitations and generate new heart power and brought important questions to the forefront for all of us. What is our message? Where is our heart's interest? Where is our play, our creativity, our enthusiasm, our spontaneity, our pleasure? These can show us the way to our higher purpose.
This week into the future we'll get chances to ground the recent beginnings of the Fire Trines into forms we can draw on to sustain the momentum as we need to. Move things forward this week, without getting worried that the Mutable squares and oppositions will take away anything relevant to your future. They're merely breaking up resistances and offering us opportunities to turn "every knock into a boost," as is the nature of rectangles. Understand, let go, be aware and productive as is required in the moment, stay flexible, and remember when Mars enters Aries in a few weeks everything we've seen, felt, or think we know will be propelled into action. Get ready!

hey robert...
this gives some meaning and understanding for so many "explosions" in words, actions or behavior...the energy is intense....creative, breaking through and yet, some people tend to be doing "odd"behavior...or, explosive behavior.
will this nrg be harnassed by may/june gateway?
thanx for the great insight.
looking forward to catching you talk again. got it on my calendar :)

Love your website...have been reading it for some time...BUT...would like to subscribe to the feed, and simply can not figure out what to do. Clicking on the logical link asks me whether I want to save it or search for appropriate software on the web...Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi michele - Yes, the Venus square Mars has been a bit of a gear grind. Dealing with lots of inconsiderate drivers lately, but that's LA! We should be doing better by mid-Summer, since Saturn will be finished opposing Neptune and Jupiter in wide orb to Uranus. See you next Sunday!
Hi Gabriella - I've never figured that out. The feature was installed by my original webmaster who went south and bailed some time ago, leaving me to clean up some stuff. If any of my readers are adept at such things, please feel free to weigh in.

Robert, I want you to know that your compatibility reading you did for me in March has been truly life changing for both me and Chris!!!
Even Chris has listened to the reading 5 times already!
Even though, not everything in the reading was favorable as far as compatibility is concerned, Chris and I have both looked at are own behaviors more closely in order to start building our friendship again.
Your ability to paint a beautiful and realistic picture of what our relationship could be, which is based on both of our charts has been more inspiring to us both than you'll ever know. We are motivated to learn more about ourselves, and each other in a whole new light.
The I-Ching Hexagrams that you included in the reading based on my questions have become motivatonal "pep talks" for me.
The meanings of the hexagrams in the I-Ching, Book of Changes reminds us to focus on the core of human relationships, and how nature reflects the same balances that are needed in the give and take of our own interactions with each other. Truly Beautiful and inspiring! Thank You!!!

Hi Lisa - Glad the tape is yielding so many insights, and that you're each evolving separately and together. Of course, friendships are the only basis for long term relationships, so I'm happy I've been able to inspire that. Thanks for your praise of my work. I have no doubt you'll continue to glean realizations from the tape, so enjoy!

hi Robert
what's going on?
today really was pretty weird, off the charts for stresss and strain for myself and several of my "sensitive" friends who felt it as well.
someone sent the following about "Uranus Shock, Jupiters Awe ~ 23 April 2007 - and - Mars makes a ninety-degree (stress) angle from its place in Pisces to the largest thing known in astrophysics, the Great Attractor (14 Sg 02)"
a very srange and stressful day to say the least. I have been unable to relax and calm down no matter what technique I attempt to use. So now its down to Kaluha, and some anti stress mix formula.
the news of course has been off the charts! such strange volatile behavior from every corner of the globe. the suppressed shadow issues from those people who have never handled their dark side, is erupting all over the place!!
I am extemely sensitive to the planetary collective consciousness. and sometimes dont know how to tune it out. the only thing that really works is when I am immersed in the music and the creative process. however, I cannot always be in that, and when I'm not, I feel "at effect" instead of at "cause." very challenging times we live in!
any thoughts from you on what's going on?
thnx Robert....

Hi suz-d - Don't know about "the great Attractor" per se, but do know that we've had Venus square Mars exact the past three days, with Moon in the Cancer zone of the Grand Irrationality on Monday. Rude and weird to say the least. In LA I've seen it primarily manifest in totally messed up driving by people with a death wish. The overall tensions can definitely be attributed to Mars conjunct Uranus, along with impending Venus square Uranus opposed Jupiter. I had a low grade persistent headache some of Sunday and all day Monday, so I ate healthy and went to bed early.
As for the shadow erupting, I figured this would be the case with Pluto square the last two Solar eclipses, and Uranus conjunct or opposed the last two Lunar eclipses. As the pressure to bring forth a new way of regarding life, matter, energy, and interactivity builds, expect some to rise to the occasion, while others will explode/implode. We're ALL choosing our positioning for the impending collision course between Earth and its destiny, which of course will impact ALL creatures, regardless of how lordly humanity considers itself. We are dwarfed by the power of nature, but our collective hubris forgets that until the next "storm."
Not sure we can ever "tune it out," since to become more aware means becoming more sensitive, and that means feeling more acutely everything that IS, since from one point of view none of us is ever disconnected from the ALL. We just have to manage our own responses, and make sure not to make anything worse than it is. Hang in there, detach as needed, and take the long view.

excellent advice as always......
one of my facilitators used to suggest to me, unplug from the world.
I responded, I dont know how to do that.....
eventually she moved away from the metropolitan areas, advising me that the more we come into the big changes, the crazier the people will get, and that it's a good idea to move far far away from big cities. well, I'm near SF, you're near LA, so now what?
that facilitator is now moved out to the boondocksi n the middle of nowhere, which I couldnt do as I need a variety of engineers to handle all the complicated gear I have.
so, yes, hanging in there....and finding ways to deal with surrounding mass neuroses, (and - what I would call black ops interference, psychotronic manipulation, etc etc, a whole nother conversation.....)
thnx R!
..back to work...

Hey,
Last night, April 27, was a really strange night. I talked to someone else today about it as well, weird awkward sexual experiences all around.
Could you tell me a little bit more detail about what was going on? My birthday is December 20, 1985, I was born at 1:38AM.
My other friend is a Sagittarius as well.
I read your posts all the time. I find it really helpful to print them out so I can make notes in the margins. Don't make them shorter! They're great long!
Posted by: bazookajoe | April 28, 2007 at 10:22 AM
Hi bazookajoe - Well, we're dealing with the Grand Mutable Cross I've posted on here, involving Mars-Uranus in Pisces squared by Venus in Gemini opposed Jupiter. The Moon triggered these multiple squares and oppositions between April 26-28. These planets in these signs could very well manifest as "weird awkward sexual experiences all around." Any planets you or your friend have in mid-to-late Mutable signs would be affected.
As for article length, I write what I can about what is, which is why some are longer, some are shorter, and some must be cut into parts lest they become the articles that ate Chicago. Tomorrow's and Tuesday's articles are such a creature. Now if I only got paid by the word by a sponsor of integrity.... And it is good to print some of them out, for exactly the reason you state. Notes are a good thing.

(Original comment deleted by Professor Robert) Hi there whoever you are. Robert here. Not only did you provide a busted link, you obviously don't get that this site doesn't promote certain dubious things. Peace out...

"As for article length, I write what I can about what is, which is why some are longer, some are shorter, and some must be cut into parts lest they become the articles that ate Chicago."
Gosh, Robert. Do you remember the Monty Python episode with the hedgehog that ate Chicago?
Posted by: Anne | July 23, 2007 at 09:01 AM
Hi Anne - Well, I remember "the eggplant that ate Chicago," and I'll definitely have to go back to re-check the Monty Python episode, since they are my third favorite comedy troupe of all time. The first? The Marx Brothers, of course. The second? The Firesign Theater, a brilliant group of Fire signs, as their title implies. And I do love Python. (The knights that say "nicht!")
