Astrology in May-June 2007 - The Blue Full Moon in Gemini-Sagittarius

by Robert Wilkinson

The coming 11 Gemini-Sagittarius Blue Full Moon occurs at 6:04 pm 31 May 2007, early morning June 1 east of the Madeiras. The Solar degree is one of "new vistas of concrete, conscious development," and the Moon is one of "physical enlightenment" and "activity dominated by fate." The Moon is in the Grand Fire Trine quintile Neptune, with inspiration fed by the Sun in Gemini tredecile Neptune. This will bring powerful manifestations around 23 Leo, which no doubt will be crystalized over the next few weeks by Saturn. Be resolute and patient as you demonstrate your training while the Grand Irrationality swirls around us.

This Lunation will have mid-Scorpio rising on the West Coast of the US, late Sagittarius rising on the East Coast, mid-Pisces rising in London, and 1 degree Aries rising in Amsterdam. The sign on the Ascendant may provide clues to why things are the way they are where you are. This of course determines where the SeeSaw pattern falls in the chart, as which houses the planets fall in are changed accordingly. I can't go into specifics here, since that would require a lot more space than I can devote to it.

The outstanding feature of this Lunation is The Grand Irrationality driven by Venus biseptile Mars and triseptile Neptune and Pluto as Mars septiles Neptune and biseptiles Pluto. Expect the two weeks following the Full Moon will be filled with important choices and changes, where decisions determine future destinies whether they make sense or not. Just try to be practical, since it's now the last time for years where there will be no planets in an Earth sign. Once Mars hits Taurus, it's a whole new era!

These changes involve houses and planets ruled by Venus and Mars, as well as the usual suspects Neptune and Pluto. They will work these changes wherever we have late Cancer, mid Aries, late Aquarius, and late Sagittarius. This will directly impact all planets we have in any of the Grand Irrationality zones, outlined in the linked article.

The upcoming period may occasionally bring "cat and mouse" games, but don't try to fight the tide, as those who do will find themselves trying to hold the ocean back with a broom. Hold yourself to highest standards, trust your body-wisdom, and decondition your mind while opening to new visions of development.

We're building spiritual vehicles in this time to "deliver spiritual power" in the future, so defuse any lurking bombs of impatience, impulsiveness, or antisocial behavior. Allow a new perspective to come forth that can serve you in initiating a new identity. Confront lurking fears, and release the images that have enslaved you emotionally. Moon conjunct Jupiter in Sag is good for that.

Deciding and acting will be easy in the near future, but even more importantly don't allow feelings to build to breaking points. Insecurity will be high, as will the tendency to ignore experiencing reality due to too many activities and ideas. Learn how to name your experience of the moment, and allow your feelings to follow your vision or information you receive. Then let those feelings give rise to the next decision or action.

The lessons involve staying focused on the NOW, and not being tossed and turned by the passing things in the moment. Get still, meditate even more than usual, and you choose the movement rather than let it choose you. Definitely don't participate in the self-destructive patterns of another, regardless of how much you'd like to help them.

Also be careful of influences where you or another is smothering your heart. Don't let ego rigidity dominate your practice. Loosen up, give your "enforcer" a couple of weeks off, and try to remember to forgive a lot of human folly, whether your own or another's. Inexperience is not evil.

Overall, the bottom line lessons of the coming weeks are to prepare to establish a realization leading to a new realm. We shall be searching for justifications through persuading and being persuaded to cooperate in a greater collective effort, whether work or play. Beware of those who endlessly question and dispute, since that won't confirm anything except the old adage that "the best solution for dealing with a quarrelsome person is much distance between the two of you."

On a final note, it is said this is the third of the three "High Moons" of Spring each year. Also known as "the Christfest," this is supposedly the time when the World Teacher takes the new outpouring of compassionate wisdom brought forth at the previous Wesak Full Moon and transforms it into a multiplicity of ideas throughout the world, according to the unique need of each place it is made manifest. More about the 2007 Wesak Festival at the link.

Open your mind to a new way of realizing and expressing compassion and/or wisdom that has arisen these past few weeks. This is a time to find forms of fulfilling the promise of peace shown by the last New Moon in Taurus. The beloved is at the balcony. Sing your song, and avoid those who argue. When the Moon conjuncts Jupiter, there are greater realms to explore.

Hi Robert, My solar return will happen at 3:37pm, on May 31st here in London. Do you think the Blue Full Moon will affect that event?

Hi Alix - Well, it sure looks like you're going to be on a rocket ship this next year with a Grand Fire Trine and Libra rising. Venus ruling the Asc is at 25 Cancer, a degree of a descent of power that can make for leaders, and in the Grand Irrationality zone forming double triseptiles with Neptune and Pluto should make for an amazing year. You'll definitely be searching for a revelation/illumination that often will seem just beyond your fingertips, but you'll also come to a wisdom and new sense of the future.

2 weeks, no earth again? ... O'no! ... not exactly a picnic for me but I do appreciate the notice and your thoughts of wisdom. May have to read these paragraphs each morning, as I'm coming to trust you. It's just a really weird feeling without terra firma, mi amigo... Jan

Hi, Robert, thanks for this post. Very interesting. I have the moon transiting my fourth house and approaching my natal sun in sag (15d). I saturn might be doing something to my ac which is at 23 degrees in leo. I have saturn at 29 degrees Aquarius in my seventh house. Jupiter is now conjunct my sun as well (but Jupiter is retrograde). As you mentioned in the article above that we should look at what planets and houses are ruled by the planets venus. I have just went to astro.com to check the aspect being made to my natal chart. The moon is in fact conjunct my natal sun. Also, saturn will conjunct my natal asc. I have taurus in the 10th house and mars in my 2nd house. Should be interesting.
thanks again for your great site!!! and your wisdom that transcends the miles

"Inexperience is not evil."

Truer words were never typed, or more pertinent to my life at this moment. Thanks for keeping my head above water.

Much love.

4/22/79 Bellaire, TX 4:12 pm

one more thing I noticed that well with this no earth thing, and I have tons of planet in earth signs.... I wonder what will happen when saturn opposes my descendent and then also my own saturn in aquarius???
oh boy...anyway I hope it is enlightening and life moving and learning and teaches me new things...

Hi Jan - It's the last time for a looooong time, so enjoy the ungrounded sensation while it lasts. Thanks for the trust. We're all in this together, and while I'd never encourage a dependency of any kind, we also all have insights and wisdom born of our unique experiences that when shared can help diminish our need to reinvent the wheel. This site is a dynamically interactive global road map and weather report. And where else can you get these AND community?

Hi Micheline - Sure. You're finishing up long range self-redefining and coming to realize some assumptions you made around age 29 may need some tweaking. You stand on the threshold of a great transformation over the next 13 weeks if you choose to open the door and invite the guest in to celebrate the endings and beginnings. RX Jupiter is giving you a new look at new vistas of adventure to come this Autumn. Enjoy the new form of enlightenment this Blue Moon will bring. You're seeing a long term mature form of your most effective service to self and the world. Aum and blessings.

As for the second comment, your Earth IS the solution to what is lacking in your environment. I just addressed the Saturn transit, and would regard it as a time to accept your maturity and experience so you can express your authenticity to fulfill some aspect of your dharma.

Hi carrie anne - Well, so often we judge and are judged by our errors. Many of these are not deliberate, nor meant with any negative intention, but simply a lack of experience in dealing with some element of human existence. That's why it's important to default to forgiveness of self and others for what may be inadvertant errors. And you're welcome, since we're ALL treading water when we're not swimming with or against the flow.

Hi Robert, Thank you, I hope this means that things will start moving. Things started improving a bit but then I've been receiving signs and messages that now I have to slow down a bit and wait (even the temperatures here went down drastically, indicating another gestational period before the fruition of summer), it seems that something is about to happen and from there I'll be able to move on, as if I had already done what was needed and it clearly feels that there is this waiting period of a couple of weeks when things will finally start to fall in their places. Mid-Pisces (in London) means a lot to me, but it is still a mystery, something will be revealed to me I'm sure. It's interesting that you mention that the two weeks that follow the full-moon will be filled with important choices and changes that will affect other people's destiny's: I had to put a few things on hold, pending what is going to happen in the beginning of June. It is all related with Pluto retrograde and going to conjunct my moon again at 27Sag, many many decisions about the continuation of the termination of a home and a life that belongs to the past and part II of cutting my daughter's umbilical cord...
That's amazing.

According to an old astrology system that I use, It divides each sign into 3 decans 10 degrees each. Considering the 31 May full moon in Sagittarius, The attributed key word would be ''Exploration''. Opposing it will be the sun, in the middle decan of Gemini which is titled ''fidelity''.

Could it mean collectively that we are to explore within ourselves ''fidelity'' to our true selves, to our karma, to our responsibility to the greater whole, bring our choices into full light? Pamela

Hi Alix - Yes, sometimes the process is very mysterious, and the roundabout way is actually the shortest path to the goal.

Hi Pamela - According to the system you're using, the illumination will come through "Fidelity" (whether the embrace or lack thereof) and the realization of form will come through "exploration." Of course you also could be correct, in that we will get to reflect on our explorations, or explore to receive reflections on our Fidelities.

Robert,

I am having a birthday around then too, on the 2nd of June, born in Manila, P.I., June 1st in Greenich time, and I have had one hell of a year, teeth grindiing, money spending , no income yr. i need some relief, and an income, from this chaos and sadness, does it make a differnce if i have my birthday here in Houston or go back to mx wher i live?
I'll check my chart on astrodienst to see the difference.

I am ready to pull my hair because i don't understand why i have not been offered a position after 70-100 submissions. ok, venting with frustartion.

any suggestions?
thanks,
V

Hi Robert,
"Inexperience is not evil." This also rings loud and clear in my present. Birthday 9 Feb 70, 1:12pm, Windsor ON Canada. As in tune and fascinated as I am by your craft, I am swamped with stress, second guessing & obligation and can't find the time to meditate on my own circumstances. It seems as if anything good in my life I stumble across rather than actively attain. Does my chart give you any indication what I should focus my energies on to clear the cobwebs of anger and festering inaction. I hear the party but can't make my way through the labyrinth to get there. Always looking forward to your wisdom.

Hi Robert - the Blue Moon falls across my North Node in Gemini and my South Node in Sagitarrius. The North Node is conjunct Uranus and trines Jupiter in Libra. Am I right in thinking a surprise here?

Hi Victoria - Jupiter is showing you the way to a more effective service in your world once you embrace the quest. Learn to keep the initiative in your own hands, and practice forms of self-dramatization in how you express your intention. This is a time to explore how to expand and extend the new sense of purpose Saturn on your Sun showed you back in 2002. You are preparing your mind to perceive and communicate a more steady, creative vision so you can express it in practical ways beginning September.

Yes, it will make a difference where you are at your Solar Return. There are 10,000 possible reasons why you haven't been offered a position. It could be as simple as being not being able to catch trout in a bass pond, or as complex as your True Self blocking things until you open to something more appropriate for who you need to be in the future. When I was in that position as a young man, I decided to stop beating my head against the wall, take something to provide a few bucks while I looked for something completely different, and even got some training in other things. You may need to study the works of Florence Scovel Shinn and/or Louise Hay and reprogram your subconsciousness. There's something out there, and it's your job to find it and stop "tearing your hair out" over things that don't work.

Hi Julie - Things will be better for you after Saturn enters Virgo, and you'll be doing even better when Jupiter enters Capricorn. You're getting over impulsiveness as you see how to be a dynamic force for public good, and stabilizing your emotions the past couple of years. As for stress and anger, use the power of these to start new initiatives without judgment and expectation. Saturn opposite your Sun has restricted your influence while showing you more important things to be done, and how to let go of obsolete rules and limits. You're in a vision year, with insecurity around how to pull it off with what you have/don't have. Next year will jumpstart the process, so learn as much as you can this year.

Hi gailkav - The Sun will illuminate and vitalize your Uranus/NN contact. Go for whatever diversity, juggling, or new ideas present themselves, without scattering yourself too thin. Should be at least two dynamic expansions/initiatives in the coming weeks that move you into your individuality and magnetic line of greatest development.

Hello Robert,
Many thanks for yet another insightful commentary..
I'm interested, and hope other readers will be too, about the prior effect of the blue moon - my usually clear thinking feels 'foggy' this week; and I had the strangest of birthdays earlier this week.
(I live in London, my birth date is May 28 1974, and I was born at 2.10am, Birmingham UK.) Advice gratefully received on how I (we) can best cope with such powerful lunar energies..

Thank you for the quick reply, Robert. Things certainly do happen when that contact is energised. I was recently reunited with a granddaughter I hadnt seen for ten years when Venus and Mercury joined it. What do you think of a Kite? I have found very little info on it. I have one in my solar return for 2007. I was born on June 30 1946 at 1pm. I sympathise with Victoria, above, as I too have been through frustrating and difficult times. But I have faith that things are changing for the better.

Ah Robert, you are a good person to go to when one needs a bit of hope. Feeling so lonely (as Saturn approaches it's opposition to my sun)and devoid of a vision. I see this lunation has Sag rising here in my neck of the woods - opposite my Gemini ASC and the blue moon falls in my 6th/12th houses. Weary of being alone - hoping Jupiter joining Pluto in my 7th house this November will shake things loose. Single for 5 years and it feels like 50. thanks again for your great wisdom and good cheer!

Thanks, Robert,
yes the process of dissolution which started in 2002 is almost complete. i have been of service, though i thought i was before, this is was more personal because it concerned my family members and through it a deeper understanding how the health care systen does and does'nt work. How the mentally ill are diregarded, discarded and shunned along with many other forms of ilness except for the big ticket items. Maybe time for films on those topics that grow from the personal into the collective. thanks for the remimber that my life has so radically changed that person i was is no more.
beso.

Hi Ester - Remember that the recent New Moon was square Neptune, which recently went stationary retrograde, both of which can produce "foggy" sensations. I don't find astrological aspects work "before the fact," and that what's happening is always explained by what is already in motion, for example, the Eclipses of the past 6 months square Pluto associated with the recent radical changes many are experiencing. And of course, Happy Birthday and Solar Return.

Hi Gail - Please site google the words "kite configuration" and you'll find a host of references throughout many articles. There are many kinds of kites, and each has their unique energetics. Enjoy, since I looked myself and am somewhat astonished at how many times I've talked about them. I believe things ARE changing for the better over the long haul, despite the interruptions in our lives along the way. Mostly we're being abruptly moved into Dharma, whether it looks like that or not when we've moving through the fogs and dealing with desires.

Hi Diane - Well, when we realize we're NEVER alone, and feelings of isolation are those of egoic separateness, then we're on the path to recovery! If you can't fish, your nets are mended, and your boats are taken care of, then take a moment to enjoy the life you are and always will be. Now that you know you want/need company, then expand your feeling-perception to see just how connected you are, and go do some different things that will prove how not-alone you really are. Most feelings of being lonely are feeling-habits that re-echo from time to time to provide us contrast between our heightened awareness in the NOW and what we used to feel when we didn't know better. And remember it's better to be solitary and autonomously happy than to be in a relationship with someone who is indifferent, selfish, or any other toxic behavior. You may need to go back and re-read Louise Hay's "You Can Heal Your Life," do some affirmations to find a place of greater service, and I have no doubt that PDQ you'll have more new aquaintences than you could imagine.

Hi Victoria - Most of the world's "health care systems" are not. There are many forms of "mental illness" that are ignored because they're not glamorous enough to warrant media attention. And of course, many such "illnesses" may be forms of telepathy, synesthesia, prescience, and other types of "walking between worlds" we've pathologized rather than attempted to understand in our linear exploitive reality. Welcome to something calling you that can lead you to new adventures in effectiveness.

Robert -

Good answers! I actually DO count my blessings a lot and get out and about, but some new activities with new people would no doubt be good. And your advice echoes that of my beloved grandmother "if you're unhappy, pick up your broom" (i.e., be of service. As you most assuredly are. We are lucky to have you, Robert, lucky indeed!

Thanks, Robert, I agree with Diane, good answers! And I am encouraged to hear that you feel a better energy around too - just so you know, the blue moon has started and I have just gained another grandchild! The moon is all about family for me, but I am over the moon now, that's for sure.

Robert, thank you soooooooo much, submerged in the day to day minute i forgot, briefly, the experiences and healings i've been so blessed to be a part of, yes, yes, yes, my 4 gem's planets, my brothers natal placements saggitarius sun, saturn, moon mercury expanded by jupiter amd now the moon...wow!
thank you ,thank you thank you

Hi Diane - Well, if I can echo the wisdom of your grandmother, then I must be on to something! The crones are truly vehicles of great transgenerational wisdom.

Hi gailkev - Congrats on the grandbaby! May you both live long, and have a great relationship. I did with both my grandmothers, one of whom is still alive at 99!

Hi victoria - You're welcome. Live in the eternal, love in the eternal, and enjoy yourself eternally!

Robert is there any truth to the disappearnce (for a brief moment) of the solar magnetic anomalies of the moon on June 17th and the sun on June 20th?

I would also like to know if June 30th is a transitional day in which all these new changes will take effect- personal changes, global changes, etc.

Hi Robert,

I'm referring to your comment above about being in a different place on your Solar Return. It's too late for me to go anywhere now - my SR is in a few hours, 11 Gemini no less.

Anyway, my question is when to know when it is a good idea to travel during a SR? I take it, it affects the house positions? Do we look for the position of the Sun in the SR chart?

I just had a look at my SR chart for where I am now and it doesn't look too bad, though I don't know enough about astrology to be more certain. SR Sun in the 5th sextile Mars, sq Uranus in the 2nd. Venus in the 7th trine Uranus in the 2nd seems okay too...

Anyway just thinking aloud. Thanks.

Hi Toney - Well, I can't find anything anywhere via google on "Solar magnetic anomalies" in the upcoming period. Of course, there will probably always be fluctuations in the magnetic anomalies of all the planets in orbit around any Sun from time to time, since a planetary magnetic field is somewhat dependent upon and affected by the shifts in the magnetism of its Sun. June 30 is the next Full Moon, coinciding with Venus opposition Neptune conjunct Saturn, so there should be the concretization of some Neptunian forms already set in the hologram through Saturn's nozzle effect for the many months up to May. It definitely puts the focus on the long running Saturn opposition Neptune.

Hi hitchhiker72 - Congrats on having a Full Moon at your SR! The Moon conjunct Jupiter should open some doors very wide in the coming year. Where you are at the SR determines what houses the planets fall in. The sign positions and aspects stay the same, but the rulerships of your natal house and the SR houses in the SR shift based in where you do it. There are a lot of factors to take into account when assessing the "best" place to do a SR. Your SR Sun in the 5th means your SR Moon-Jupiter is in the 11th, great for friends and group work. The T-square to the 8th shows that unexpected losses will make for gains via the Venusian trine (people and circumstances ruled by Venus natally and in the SR) throwing the void to Scorpio, and free you from old perceptual and interpretive traps.

Sorry Robert busy week...full of nutty stuff. But I want to thank for your comment. Feels a bit hopeful. I will try to really keep my hear open. I went to a wonderful suf music event and found a lovely book on women who are whirling dervishes. Some of my friends think I should do this.
( I am a dancer first) hmmm Who knows? I just can not see myself prescribing to any religion. I have my own brand of spirituality. It is good to read your editorials. They are really very well written full of wonderful wisdom. I glean much from your thinking. I think out of all the so called religions, I do love Rumi and Budhism. They come from a place of pure love. Very hopeful for humanity. It has been an emotioanally heart wrenching year. I have not told much of this to friends. I think this is the best....I have mentioned but I really hate to put anyone through what I need to face and look at and I know that no one but myself can do that. I want to thank you again for reaching out to us who need your wisdom and your words. It is beautiful and heartfelt.
peace and love

Hi Micheine - In my life journey, I have found truly that "there is no religion higher than Truth," to quote one of the most remarkable women in history. The Ageless Wisdom cannot be confined to any one approach, but all approaches of any value are founded in one or more aspects of the Ageless Wisdom. Perhaps that's part of the reason why I am open to many different ways to the goal, since it's in the walking that we meet our Soul companions along the way. And of course, you're welcome. Having been lost in the woods for many years and finally found my way around, the least I can do is commune with others in those woods and show them the lay of the land. We're all in this together.

Thanks, Robert. Do people experience full moons with their SRs very often? I seem to remember reading somewhere that it's once every 19 years.

Hi hitchhiker72 - That's probably about right. I don't have the exact number on hand, but over time our SR Moon shifts in a predictable pattern. I've often thought that would make for an interesting study in itself. Another curious thing I've noted is that if I stay in the same place, often my SR Asc is in trine to the previous one, or varies by a relatively few degrees.

Hi, Robert...very interesting! This should prove to be a heck of a journey for me, as I have absolutely no earth signs in my chart. I have a bit of a mundane question -- I'm getting married this month and having a difficult time deciding which date might offer the smoothest ride, so to speak, for myself (Scorpio, Scorpio rising, libra moon) and my capricorn fiancee. Thank you for any advice in advance!

June 1 st was my birthday! this so seems to involve me but how?

Hi trine - Well, those with no Earth can be very inspired, but sometimes overdo the attention to details due to insecurity. As for marriage dates, choosing the right one shouldn't be done on the fly since a) good ones are hard enough to find and b) it's about to be Mercury retrograde! Usually people schedule a session about these kinds of things since they take some time to calculate on an individual basis. Off the cuff I'd say early Monday June 11 with Moon in Taurus, or perhaps morning or early afternoon June 19 with Moon in Leo. There are other dates in months to come, but for now, it's Mercury RX followed by Venus RX followed by mutable T-squares.

Hi Colleen - Well, it's your Solar return time, and you have a Full Moon. You should be getting lots of realizations in the coming year, and start seeing a greater way to serve your world. Cultivate a form of "public self-dramatization," and keep the initiative in your own hands while daring to be yourself. There are major worlds to embrace and learn about, so take it all as an adventure in valuing things you may never have dreamed of. There are other things of course, but this is a comment stream....

Hi Robert,

With this blue full moon as you mentioned, will there be any significant change in the career prospects of sagitarrius people?

How are the job prospects for saggitarius people now? Will it change?. If so, when? How will the career be after the change?

Kind regards

Srigupta

Hi Srigupta - Well, this will affect all people with prominent Sag/Gemini. As for profession/career, that is ruled by Mercury since Virgo is the 10th of Sag. Sag people have been opened to larger visions as a result of Jupiter, but need to retrace some steps or take a look back before proceeding in August into their new opportunities. It's time to make adjustments in how you define your needs, or habits, and let go of some attitudes as you search for your "professional mystery." If you are innovative, or can revolutionize what you need to in your understanding and way of communicating, then you should be able to finish old karmas quickly these next few weeks and move into something more creative, fun, or at least strengthening as you transition into a new professional emphasis this Autumn and Winter.
