Mercury comes out of retrograde this week, so it's time to begin to crank things up after recent weeks of rehearsal, review, research, and preparation. This week things should start moving forward, but continue to build in slight delays at least unti the end of the week. We're still under the influence of the Full Moon at 6:49 am PDT June 30 that falls at 9 Capricorn, helping us all attune to our inner guides, angels, and other aspects of "Heaven Within," exteriorizing the promise of the past New Moon in Gemini.

Today's post comes from a client who asked an important question affecting us all. She told me of an astrologer who said they could tell what age a person would have their karmic debt paid off in this life. However, my client asked her astrology teacher (no, not me!) who does karmic and archetypal astrology (like me!) about this question, and her teacher believes we are never done working out our karma (as she put it, "paying for it, suffering for it, etc...") While this subject could be explored forever, my answer may help explain how the concept of "karma" actually works.

"Inferior conjunctions" only occur when Mercury's apparent backward retrograde motion brings it to a conjunction with the Sun. Mercury, symbolizing Mental Coordination, and the Sun, the Life principle itself, do a unique dance. Each year they conjunct 3 times in a "Superior" conjunction, when Mercury is faster than the Sun, and 3 times in an "Inferior" conjunction, when Mercury is retrograde. These each have importance in the relationship of Life to Mind in our yearly affairs. If you want to learn more about this phenomenon, here's "Mercury retrograde and the Superior and Inferior Conjunction"

Yesterday In Part 1 we explored general Spiritual factors of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto bringing forth our Higher Self as we stand individually and collectively at the threshold of a new era. I offered points of particular importance due to major aspect patterns going on in July and August. Today we continue to explore more about the pressure we're under and within, what it means, and how this is impacting certain signs directly.

With all three outer Transpersonal planets retrograde, we're reviewing "spiritual" forces at work since March that have us at threshold states of doing and being. Uranus binovile Pluto offers ways to see the common basis for divergent realizations. Neptune splits influences this month, giving realizations through appreciation in some situations, disappointment in others, but as it's the end of the Saturn opposition from Leo, at least we're going to get clarity despite the extreme weirdness.

Today we revisit an article offering perspectives on Universal Mind, Consciousness Itself, the nature of Maya, Miracles, and Light, and how these impact human existence. These can serve as guides to what IS, whether we perceive it or not. We'll also explore now Soul is different than Spirit, why darkness exists at all, and why we're here.

Mercury is completely retrograde, though after the Inferior conjunction on June 28 we'll experience things picking up. We're still reverberating from Uranus going stationary retrograde, but overall this week should provide a sense of things finally moving forward, freed from the jagged edge of recent times. The Full Moon at 6:49 am PDT June 30 falling at 9 Capricorn will help us all attune to our inner guides, angels, and other aspects of "Heaven Within," and exteriorizes the promise of the New Moon in Gemini.

The Summer Solstice falls on June 21 at 11:07 am PDT. It's the longest day of the year, and said to be the point at which "free will" acts more powerfully than any other time. It is a point of decision, and kicks off Summer, the season of work, play, productivity, and lots of sunshine for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. If you're "down under," remember to have a little compassion for us up here in the north when December 21, the Winter Solstice, rolls around and we're freezing while you're enjoying the beach! What follows are some hints as to what we all can expect to experience over the next 3 months, regardless of where we live.

This was inspired by a recent comment. When asked how the Mercury retrograde and Mars retrograde, both in Cancer, will affect us if we have planets in Cancer, I thought it would be good to share how I see the process working so you can anticipate what you'll be dealing with later this year.

Several people have contacted me, telling me their intuition feels like it is growing stronger, even if sometimes they don't know what it means. This happens for one or both of two reasons. First, there are times when our personal intuition grows stronger, whether by our practice or just our evolving state. Second, there are times when the field gets stronger, or the filters between the rational and intuitive levels of existence weaken. Right now we seem to be going through the second state.

Today we send up a big Happy 65th Birthday to one of the world's treasures, Paul McCartney. He has given us some of the most memorable love songs in history (rockers too!), and is living proof that those who said the Beatles were a "flash in the pan" and would be forgotten within a few years were impossibly wrongheaded contrarians. And he's still rocking! Today I've dug up a few things that may entertain you, so enjoy! Thanks for everything, Sir Paul. You changed the world for the better, and that's a very good thing. (Keep going for more videos!)

I've been flooded over the years with questions about what to do if Mercury is retrograde AND there are things to be done, meetings scheduled, elements of projects that must be decided and implemented, and other such important matters. No problem! There are many things that move forward exactly as they should during Mercury retrograde periods. Though there may be delays and misunderstandings, there are ways to navigate these recurring periods and keep everything on track quite nicely.

Sometimes I hear from people who feel like they are victims of bad luck or bad karma, and are unhappy with some aspect of their life. Often they are in some form of difficulty and having a hard time with their life choices, and believe that by "putting it in God's hands" it hopefully will be better in the future. While surrendering to a "Higher Power" is always a good thing to do, it does not mean we don't have our own part in participating in bringing good karma out of bad, or better "luck" for ourselves in the future.

This is going to be a very eventful week, even if things are more than a little weird because of Mercury retrograde, Uranus going stationary rx, and Saturn exactly opposition Neptune. We're still under the influence of the New Moon at 24 Gemini, accenting the Sun opposed Pluto, so get and stay clear, enjoy what you can while you re-create what you need to, and expect dramatic upheavals in the world thanks to Uranus' station, always indicating major sea changes in people and nations.

As most of my readers know, I usually post astrological and metaphysical articles I believe will bring forth a greater astrological understanding and sense of "spiritual connectedness." I tend not to post on other things here, since I found most political debates too strident with a lot of "sound and fury signifying nothing." That said, I found something I believe to be of utmost importance for all of us to be aware of, since it does involve our spiritual connectedness with the land and "all our relations."

There are many things that are favored while Mercury is retrograde, despite the general opinion that it leads to massive confusion, miscommunication, and things going everywhere and nowhere all at once. Usually the week just before and after the beginning of the period is most difficult for people, and yet if you know how to adjust your sense of timing, you'll see things fall into place in ways you never suspected.

All we know is vibration. From the grossest to the subtlest, the densest to the most ethereal, everything we think, feel, perceive or imagine is vibration. We are told in "esoteric philosophy" that there are 7 "frequency zones" that describe our entire reality and that which is beyond. Today we begin an exploration of what are called the "7 Planes" of our individual and collective existence.

June marks the end of Spring and the beginning of Summer, a time when the creative pulse of Spring expands in forms of ideas and new discoveries leading to fundamental reorientations. This month is usually dominated by the Air energies of Gemini, though this month only the Sun is in that sign. Gemini is the phase in the twelve-step evolutionary process where what was stabilized in Taurus goes through a period of adaptation, expanding into many possibilities and new understandings, preparing for decisions that will be made when the Sun enters Cancer at the Summer Solstice June 21, 11:07 am PDT.

I recently got an email from someone feeling hopeless. They wrote "life in a standstill...no money... no marriage...no children... nothing has gone right for me... I am without a job....is there any hope in the future? Cause without health and money nothing really comes around... Should I move somewhere else? Will that change my destiny?" Since we all feel one or more of these things at least once in our life, today I'll share my response. Even if you're not in a state of difficulty, what I offer may help you to help others who are feeling hopeless for whatever reason.

This week close things out or finish up agreements or preparations as Mercury goes retrograde for three weeks. It's the end of a larger phase, and we now get a chance to look back on what's happened the past 4 months and see how things are connected from a different angle of understanding. We finish the Grand Fire Trine with the Sun trine Neptune providing a lot of Air to finish launching new initiatives, and many should see their work diversifying in some interesting ways. The first half of the week we can get more done than the last half of the week, so plan accordingly.

Today we give a major league Happy Birthday to the pioneer of "free will" astrology, the venerable Grant Lewi. College professor, author and publisher, this legendary astrologer gave the world more than a few masterpieces of astrological knowledge, and is still my first suggestion for those who want to begin learning, or advance their knowledge of astrology.

This Mercury retrograde period starts June 15 (June 16 England and points east) and ends July 9 (July 10 east of Brazil). This retrograde moves from 12 degrees back to 3 Cancer, with the inferior conjunction between Mercury and the Sun occurring June 28 (June 29 India and points east) at 7 Cancer. This degree is one of "Two Nature Spirits Dancing In the Moonlight," symbolizing the "play of invisible forces" contrasting "the invisible with the visible, the inner with the outer, the dream and ideal with everyday reality." A degree of "Creative Imagination," Rudhyar also says this degree is "Man's recognition of the elusive play of underlying forces in nature," "cooperation with the invisible," and "unusual good luck."

Chiron, the Wounded Healer! Who is this "being" that generates so many questions and so much speculation? In Greek Mythology this brilliant and kind astrologer-healer was first, last, and best among centaurs, born of a different lineage than the rest who were a fairly rowdy bunch. Son of Kronos (Time/Saturn), Chiron was immortal, and though he could heal others, he could not heal himself, and gave his life so humanity could receive the gift of Fire. Since much of Astrology has some connection to mythology, what else can we learn about how to apply Chiron in our charts?

This week continues to fulfill the prductivity promised by the 26 Taurus New Moon brought to surface by the Blue Full Moon at 11 Sagittarius-Gemini. Like last week, trust your body wisdom and get it in gear, since the Fire trine can give wings to what we've been working toward since March. Open to new vistas of concrete development while taking care of details, since the Mutable Solar T-Square can help us confront neglected inner power and spur us toward cooperative activities that synthesize a lot of what we've been striving for up to now.
