Spiritual Astrology in July-August 2007 Pt. 1 - Uranus, Neptune, Pluto Retrograde Coming In From the Unknown
by Robert Wilkinson
With all three outer Transpersonal planets retrograde, we're reviewing "spiritual" forces at work since March that have us at threshold states of doing and being. Uranus binovile Pluto offers ways to see the common basis for divergent realizations. Neptune splits influences this month, giving realizations through appreciation in some situations, disappointment in others, but as it's the end of the Saturn opposition from Leo, at least we're going to get clarity despite the extreme weirdness.
The past month and a half we've taken a "walk with a Higher Wisdom" while showing our world what we are able and ready to do. The past few months Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto have shown us unknown zones of Spiritual futures since they have been in degree spans not experienced in close to a century or more.
Due to the Solar Eclipses of the past 7 months square Pluto while the Lunar Eclipses conjuncted or opposed Uranus, we're in a future oriented tide of evolution that is closing life chapters and opening new ones where we can become inspired, enjoy ourselves more, and light up our world in ways everyone can appreciate.
This is a time to review the paths and challenges from Spirit that brought us to the threshold of new beginnings as we take a new look at our ideals, the way we're relating to others and everything that is, consciously and unconsciously, and how we are willing to embrace our uniqueness or genius. This month we can see how a new wisdom can be creatively expressed to others while developing resilience and strength of character.
We start the period with Saturn still triseptile Uranus, important in showing us that we're at "the intersection of fate and free will," and our choices will show as progress or regress. Beginning late July we experience the final Jupiter biseptile Saturn as it quintiles Neptune. This extremely important biseptile will last through mid-November, and promises things to be generically weirder than they have been, if that's at all possible.
Jupiter and Saturn translate the energies of the outer Invisible Triad into widespread social influences within which our personalities operate in local conditions, however wide or narrow our field of influence. This time is directly related in bringing forth our higher truth of Being resulting from the choices and changes of the mid-December 2006 through early January 2007 Jupiter biseptile Saturn, a time when all of us confronted major forks in the road of our destinies. These choices continue to shape our personalities toward a future on the way like an express train over the next few months.
Jupiter and Saturn begin this period in a powerful Tredecile, a specializing time of unique interactivity that manifests as "serendipity" in the areas Jupiter and Saturn are transiting in our charts. This is related to the tredecile of January 2007, and should bring more unique gifts perfect for our circumstances, or our unique qualities found situations perfect for them.
The ones in January stabilized between March and May, and are showing as a further development of unique interactivity between mid-June and mid-July 2007. After then we confront a "point of no return" between late July through mid-November 2007, when these two powerhouses form the last biseptile, first from Sag to Leo, then from Sag to Virgo after Saturn enters that sign.
Saturn continues to put pressure on collective consciousness to awaken to a more mature heart energy, through the on-going Saturn opposition Neptune. Though it was exact for the final time on June 25 from 22 Leo to 22 Aquarius, it is still very much in effect in July, with a powerful reverberation in August when Sun, Mercury, and Venus retrograde all conjunct Saturn while opposing Neptune. Expect major realizations to cut across many areas of life. Still, be clear and thoughtful in early July, since it's a very hot zone where this aspect is still very powerful in its influence, especially when the Moon conjuncts, squares, or opposes either.
This aspect challenges us to narrow our focus to get a better sense of, and handle on, the larger whole of our affairs, not get needlessly detached, and try to bring the ideal into reality while busting old illusions born of fear and releasing duties and limitations no longer appropriate to the new life Uranus has awakened these past two years. Saturn opposed Neptune is a general oppositional polarizing tension we're been dealing with since late 2005, though by the time this period is done it will be too.
This opposition has taught us how to manage dualisms and tensions through balancing the reality and the ideal as they evolve over time. We had a lot of light shed on these issues in February when the Sun conjuncted Neptune and opposed Saturn, vitalizing and illuminating what we acted on when Mars went through the tension zone from mid-to-late March.
These lessons will be complete by August. Neptune's lesson this year is a challenge to get balanced and find creativity in the realm of ideals, the collective consciousness and unconscious, and what love and friendship actually are as we learn to be the patient, mature, and methodical directors of our on-going Self-transformation.
Saturn is no longer the nozzle for all the other planets, as now one of the empty spans is filled, creating a "Locomotive" Jones patterns with Saturn forming a trine to Pluto defining the remaining empty span from late Leo to late Sag. The only time this pattern is altered is when the Moon moves through Virgo, Libra, and Scorpio. With Saturn anchoring the span of activity of the Locomotive, it shows that we shall attain definiteness and a sense of Dharma, or "true functioning," through our experiences. Saturn represents Dharma, and in Leo, it's helping us mature in our self-expression, pleasures, and enjoyment of how we're doing our Being.
As you know from the on-going weekly forecasts, Neptune and Pluto are still in septile, and therefore anchoring The Grand Irrationality. As to why 2007 is somewhat over-the-top energetically, besides being the Year of the Fire Boar, the Grand Irrationality has been continually triggered from November 2006 through the present time by transits of various sectors bringing forth this collective weirdness affecting us all. It is why strange, irrational, obsessive-compulsive energies are boiling to the top in personalities and situations, and there continues to be a hard edge to our lives. Collectively we are at a fork in the road of human evolution.
As I wrote in the last Spiritual Astrology forecast for the outer invisible Triad, late January and early February intensified the process, since it boosted what happened last Autumn. Mars initiated changes January 10-15 followed by Venus January 17-21 and Mercury January 25-29. In February the pattern was set off between February 6-12, and in late February Venus activated a third point of the Seven Pointed Star and the Moon a fourth in the Cancer zone February 27.
In March and April The Grand Irrationality was triggered March 1-3, March 20-April 4, April 12-18, and intensified in May and June through a major clustering of planets in almost all its zones. Mercury and the Sun lit up the Gemini zone May 11-14 and May 21-27, Mars was in the Aries zone May 27-June 3, and Venus in the Cancer zone May 29-June 2. The point of maximum intensification was May 28-29 when the Moon in Scorpio lit up the 6th of the 7 points in this Star pattern. These transits set off important changes and choices that may not have made much sense, but we had to make them anyway. It's been the forward edge of future "destiny" by how we've been greeting the weirdness of the NOW.
Any time a planet goes through any of the zones of The Grand Irrationality it triggers effects. At present these points are approximately 27 Sagittarius-1 Capricorn, 20-25 Aquarius, 11-14 Aries, 2-7 Gemini, 24-27 Cancer, 15-19 Virgo, and 6-10 Scorpio.
As you also know from the weekly forecasts, the Moon's transit of any of the hot zones will trigger the pattern. In the coming two months the Moon adds another point to the Grand Irrationality when it transits Aquarius July 3-4, July 30-31, and August 26-27, Aries on July 7, August 1 and 30-31, Gemini on July 10-11 and August 6-7, Cancer on July 14 (New Moon!) and August 10, Virgo on July 18-19 and August 14-15, Scorpio on July 22-23 and August 18-19, and Sagittarius on July 26-27 and August 22-23.
In the next few weeks, the pattern will be set off by the inner planets numerous times. Of primary note will be when the Sun moves through the Cancer zone from July 14-18, Mercury in Cancer from July 30 through August 2, and Mars in the Gemini zone August 7-14, activating the critical choices and decisions we made in May.
Since the Sun, Mercury, and Mars are involved, it will trigger changes in the houses ruled by these planets, as well as any life areas where we have planets in those hot zones. The houses they occupy as well as rule will be most directly affected. By staying on top of where these zones are triggered by outer events symbolized by the transiting planets, we are given a heads up on what’s coming. During transits to any of the 7 zones of influence, expect shifts, changes, forks in the road, irrational or compulsive behavior in self or others, and important times of decision.
All septile series aspects indicate an on-going weirdness, strange choices, crucial decisions, and general edginess and the sense that forces beyond our control are at work. Not necessarily bad, as long as we remember that we may not be able to reason our way through what's happening and the energy doesn't get too crazy or destructive. This aspect set moves us to make choices that affect our potential "higher destiny." The days mentioned above are the times when the generic weirdness is triggered, and bring decisions that may not make much sense but have to be made anyway.
Part 2 of this month's Spiritual Astrology will explore more about the spans the outer planets are in as well as the times when planets will make dynamic aspects to the Invisible Triad, being periods when we are most challenged to cooperate with "Spiritual" energies.

Robert,
In an earlier email you spoke of maybe recieving a "gift" that would help me serve the world.....would that gift be in the timing of the mid-august conjunction of Sun, mercury,Venus on my Uranus, or the end of July's events which i think effect a quintile in my chart.
My dream jounals of the last 3 years have "shown this"....I also had info, of being "liberated", that you spoke of,...but maybe having to wait...a month a transition period".... which would put things closer to the eclipses of Sept? I feel I am close, and it seems the closer I am getting that there is an "inner conflict building"....the new Identity you spoke of...is integrating...at the same time..the Old is rearing its head in protest...that there will be an inner fight...then death/and a new identity....that event/"liberation" should be mid-Leo...with a transistion period till Saturn enters Virgo in Sept?
namaste....WHR

Hi WHR - Not sure what I was referring to, as there is too much to keep track of. Just ride your process, stay centered in the now, stay alert to gifts and unique qualities, and I'm sure you'll be able to tell me within a few weeks.

Thank you for sharing this piece, your post inspired my own insights about what and why I am in a flux. Why I was so confused by the adults around me as a child. Transition and transformation. I was born with Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and the Nodes in retrograde. Just wanted to share I quoted you today over at my blog the New Moon Journal.

Hi Michele - Thanks for the quote. Glad I could help elaborate on this recurring and powerful phenomenon.

Robert, I LOVE what you write here---"Just ride your process, stay centered in the now, stay alert to gifts and unique qualities"
so needed to hear this.... this is golden wisdom...when all else fails ride it...hold on to your hat, hold tight to the bucking bronco!! ....and flow...
I am realizing over and over it is all flow---different rhythms, different tempos, different speeds....
thanx
lots of love & light
michele :-)

Hi michele - Yes, we're all surfing the largest wave in history (or at least since Atlantis!) We're breaking free of old inertias and Earth gravity from ages long dead, and it's truly less of a space shot than us learning the nuances of riding a wave with its twists, turns, changes in pace and direction. Sometimes we get to hang 5 or even 10!

Today, August 1, has been full of strange disconnections--really strange. What can you tell me in the celestial readings that may account for this?
Very confused,
Lambness

Hi Lambness - It could be a variety of things, from the Mars square Saturn to the Moon in Pisces. It could be Mercury quincunx Pluto, or any number of aspects to your planets if this is a personal rather than collective question.

Thank you for the response, Robert. I'm not familiar enough with transits to make much sense of their significance, except to say that the month of August has been very strange indeed. I've been experiencing a whole mess of electrical oddities--my tv is stuck on the highest volume setting, lights keep burning out, my receiver won't turn on, my portable radio which is stashed away mysteriously turned on. Do the transits actually manifest in ways that affect electronics like this?
Posted by: Lambness | August 17, 2007 at 08:44 AM
Hi Lambness - Yes, transits can manifest as peculiar occurrences. I also had a strange computer crash that seemed to fix itself, and a watch that went dead for no apparent reason. Of course, there are "real world" reasons for these things, even if we don't know why they happened. Things do have a built in timing, based on when they were "born" aka assembled.
