We're now solidly in an extreme zone where Mars at 11 Gemini exactly opposes Jupiter at 11 Sag. This challenges us to keep our perspective and avoid risky schemes, but also is a point at which long term Jupiter in Sag initiative and visions are finally coming to surface and getting kicked into high gear. This will favorably impact all points around 9-13 Aries, Leo, Libra, and Aquarius, so build what you can since it's a very dynamic powering-up in these spans.
The gear grind can be seen in the approaching Mercury squares to each of these, though it does promise a breakthrough in several areas of our lives that are ruled by these planets. This sets our Gemini and Virgo sectors at odds with our Aries and Scorpio sectors, but as it's the lower (waxing) square, it also marks a point of "first emergence" in ideas and coordinating activities of our Martian initiatives. Be practical, far-sighted, and practice patience and thoughtfulness in speech and travel.
Mercury continues through the T-square zone for the next few days as it first squares Jupiter at 11 Virgo and then Mars at 12 Virgo. This will challenge our "imagineering," or ability to combine imagination plus engineering to bring forth new life which will lead to an "unveiling" of things, where the "dream visualization" will be followed by an action that can lead us to a greater appreciation of life. See clearly what your inner light is revealing to you, and be daring in loving what you need to while saying goodbye to other things.
Mercury squaring the Mars opposition Jupiter throws the void into 11-12 Pisces, Uranus' stationary points in the not-so-distant past. This was our collective awakening to walk on into a new life and prove our ability to do what we needed to as individuals. We were all led into a "sanctuary" and had to show ourselves ready, willing, and able to fulfill a function associated with the part we wanted to play in a new life. This weekend gives us a chance to practice those skills.
Specific hot zones are around 10-13 Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces, as well as 25-28 Cancer, Libra, Capricorn and Aries. These points are all impacted by squares, semisquares, sesquisquares, and oppositions from what's happening now, making this a very energetic time. This affects birthdays at the beginning of March, June, September and December, as well as mid April, mid July, mid October and mid January.
As Mercury, then Mars, then Jupiter all make dynamic squares and oppositions to Uranus in the very near future, expect a lot to be shaken loose. I've commented on the Jupiter square Uranus extensively in past posts, so site google that aspect if you want to get more info about this very powerful set of forces about to be unleashed in a big way in our world. Of course I'll comment more in the near future about the Mars square Uranus and the Jupiter square Uranus, but you may want a front end look by going back into the archives. Past as prologue, and back to the future and all that.
In any case, SLOW DOWN! Refuse to get agitated, make impulsive decisions, and be practical and realistic in your assessments. Practice relaxation techniques, even as you set new things into motion (Mercury lower square Mars) and culminate old ideas and perceptions about futures and distant possibilities (Mercury upper square Jupiter). These aspects are setting things into motion in major ways, so pay attention, since Mercury is a herald for the Sun, which brings things to Life/Light. The Solar squares are just down the road, and Mercury can show us signals of what to expect.

Hi Robert - should Aries too slow down? Thank you
Posted by: Larisa | August 23, 2007 at 11:26 PM
How do I slow down? I'm dancing as fast as I can.I am wondering in the esoteric and metaphysical world,if the guardian angels are a little out of breath following me around. I have never seen so many car wrecks, physical assaults, and down righ meanness in the past time period. But, I have escaped thus far with just a major scare. Whoa there, I would love to slow down and see more peaceful existence. I have tried to really, but the forces have been at work to thawart the laziness that I would like to enjoy.

Hi Larissa - EVERYONE should slow down as much as possible while staying in motion to do whatever breakthroughs are required. This is a mobilizing set of aspects which must be managed carefully.
Hi Mary - I'm also "meditating and praying as fast as I can," as well as "surrendering to God as fast as I can." The trick is to dodge what bullets are flying, stay focused, and avoid those who are mean or creating wreckage. It's just that we need to be mindful to temporarily slow the pace for a few dozen hours while doing what we must in the whirlwind.

I'm trying to slow down, my sun is at 9 sag and asc at 19 pisces, and pluto is sitting on top of my moon right now. Been having a straight week of panic attacks and am faltering. I've never been so distraught in my life!!
Thanks for the article, it helps explain things a bit. I keep telling myself to just breathe.
Posted by: saggal | August 24, 2007 at 10:14 AM
Hi saggal - Sure. Jupiter is expanding your light and heart, Uranus is sending power surges through your physical vehicle, and your Moon probably does feel somewhat extreme on a constant basis while Mars is ringing your chimes. And you're protected, things ARE weird, and major choices and changes are in the air. In the outer world of affairs and the inner world of consciousness, things are in motion for all of us, just in different ways perfect for our growth pattern.
Step back, see the swirls through your eyes as an Eternal, observing the body, emotions, and mind doing their dances. What is happening is only occurring on certain phenomenal perceptual levels, and all we need to remember is to be loving and appreciating the opportunities to transmute the lower into the Higher, ending some karmic patterns and creating better ones. Everything is grist for the mill of Soul. And of course, breathe and love and breathe and love and ...

Hi Robert, I've got Sun at 10th Gemini, so Mars is sitting on it, no wonder why I've been feeling nervous and sleepless these days. Do you think this could be a turning point for me? I've also got Venus at 25th Aries in the 10th house. Oh, and Mars at 13th of Leo in the 2nd. I keep trying to get a job and it is feeling like that carrot in front of me that I can never reach, when can one ever know when it is time to give up trying?
Posted by: Alix | August 24, 2007 at 02:56 PM
Robert - how to slow down while staying in motion? Are you a magician? can you teach me how to slow down and move at the same time? I understand a bit this slow motion dance, waiting for a faster music?

hi robert,
do you have any thoughts on how the movements of the planets translate to emotion/thoughts within us? here's the context in which i was thinking - i've noticed that when a friend or parent is near their solar return, i'm most likely to have some really organic feelings about who they are and what they mean to me...and not just b/c i'm buying a card. it's like an appreciation for them that doesn't seem quite as whole at other times. Do you know what i'm getting at? where does the energy come from?

Hi Alix - Yes, Mars on your Sun no doubt has you agitated. More like a new beginning! I would say never give up attempting to reach for something better, but make sure you're using the right methods. If you haven't read Florence Shinn's The Game of Life it makes clear exactly what it will take to receive a "demonstration from Spirit." I believe that when you're REALLY ready to receive whatever is perfect for you, you'll open up to Spirit without letting mind or feelings get in the way and then you'll get exactly what's perfect for you right now pdq. Your job will be to say yes to that specific form and the adventure it will hold over time, which could lead interesting places. Even a low paying temp gig could lead to a career in television production and directing. Happened to me.
Hi Larissa - The trick to dancing, as in music, is to pay attention to the pauses, the silent points, the empty spaces. Tai Chi is an example of the type of skills needed at present. Calculated inaction, or keeping the internal center while moving or not moving or suspending motion for a moment are other skills.
Hi dottie - Well, the Solar return is when the Sun approaches its natal position, so you could very well be picking up on another's light when near the SR. It's a time when the illumination priciple (transiting Sun) is resonating with their individual Light (natal Sun.) That's a very good observation, both about them, when it happens, and your own organic response. This could lead you to a form of true intuition.
Hi Brian - Well, I haven't been there long enough to know what's received or not, since I'm now in LA having completed 3000 miles of the 4000 mile trek. And of course, there are more loads to move, since hauling the sum of two adult lives is more than one suspects, even when you're one of the two. A bit fried, but the posts are still quality. As for aspects and reading, you should email me at the address at the left hand links.
Hi saggal - Sure. Namaste.

Hi Robert, Its been a long time since i have commented here. I read your articles everyday though. Events this past one month have gone exactly as it was probably destined to happen. I tried to speed things up but the events kept their own leisurely pace. Even my agitations, as i saw it, only hurt me.
So I guess it is easy for me to slow down, as i know i cannot change much, except myself through meditation.

HI Robert, thank you, Yes, you are absolutely right by describing the current situation - it is like a dance. Especially at work where escalation of tension started end of July; my nervous boss Genimi is theratened that I am leaving, and he behaves irrationally just like my ex-husband before I left him. So, all staff are just sitting there and waiting for some news to arrive about the relocation. The company made some irrational wrong moves back in July 2007, now the best people are leaving to new firms as a result, because no one likes to sit and anticipate the unknown. The situation is strangely quiet, yet intense. We are calculating when would it be the best time to jump, yet still waiting for who knows what. Uncertainty is really strange.
Posted by: Larisa | August 26, 2007 at 08:45 AM
Hi aditya - Glad you're still checking in. It is not useful to push the river, as it only frustrates us and doesn't make the river move faster. That's why it's important to preserve one's strength to leap at exactly the right time. This is actually the time to break on through, using flow instead of force with a very wide view of the interrelationships of things.
Hi Larissa - Uncertainty teaches vigilance. Certainty breeds inertia. In uncertainty is potentiality. In certainty are walls. And one jumps when it's time; until then we stay where we are put and do the best we are able, since who knows what could be turned around with the right initiative? No need to expend energy prematurely, or needlessly.

Robert, I love how you write. Thank you for being such a good friend.

Hi Robert, Thanks so much for your words. I really thought that it was amazing that these hot zones are activating significant points on my chart. And oh my God, tomorrow there's this powerful lunar eclipse opposite my Pluto, conj. my Chiron, and on the 1st of September Saturn will conjoin my North Node! Do you think a demonstration from the Spirit could be coming during these eclipses?
Posted by: Alix | August 27, 2007 at 05:13 AM
Hi Larisa - Sure. You're most welcome.
Hi Alix - Mostly astrological trigger points do bring choices and changes due to what manifests, which often is exactly the demonstration we've prayed for. The trick is not to get frustrated if it doesn't happen exactly the way we want, since that shows us the emotions that could be blocking the manifestation. Looks like you'll be healing, and Saturn will be crystalizing your line of greatest evolutionary development for at least 9 months. If the demonstration doesn't come during the eclipses, it will definitely come at some point when the eclipse points are triggered somehow.

Hi Robert - this poignant dance continues. On the 28, the full moon and lunar eclipse day, I was invited to a meeting by one intense Scorpio. He didn't wnat to re-schedule. However on that day till now I am sort of overwhelmed, so I caused this Scorpio frustration by leaving it earlier. But I know that in the future I will have to deal with this complex creature.
Our office is disolving. Aftre a lot of logical and not logical thinking, most decided to leave. People leave and do not come back. Strange.
How long is it going to last, such situation? I am not sure in whihc direction to move - go for the gold or stay where I am now but without excitement, without trouble, but also without progress. What would you say?
Posted by: Larisa | August 30, 2007 at 03:37 PM
Hi Larisa - It will last as long as it takes to dis-structure whatever isn't real any more. I would say that this has to do with your heart, your intention, and your long term goals. As for Scorpio frustration, that's really more the Scorpio's problem than yours.
