Jupiter biseptile Saturn is now exact. Changes are in motion, much that can go askew is going exactly there, and yet many things are revealed by how things are getting done and what momentum is being generated. This is a crucial moment in a long term process, and is showing us how "destiny is in motion" on some very large levels, since Jupiter and Saturn rule large scale social processes on individual and collective levels.
You can find out more about how this affects us on a spiritual level by going to this article. This is the final long count for this particular generic weirdness, and will be with us for more than a few weeks, so hold on as it could be a very wild ride involving our Sag, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces house affairs going through major irrational changes and forks in the road in our Sagittarius, Leo, and Virgo sectors.
This will impact any planets or points we may have around 19 Libra, 10 Sag, 1 Aquarius, 23 Pisces, 14 Taurus, 5 Cancer, and 27 Leo, mas o menos a couple of degrees to either side of these points. Every time the Moon crosses any of these, it will trigger the larger configuration, so expect some very bizarre events and behaviors to dominate for several weeks. A whole lot of us will find ourselves in a very changed reality fairly shortly, so go with the flow.
If appropriate, avoid extreme behavior and people, but remember also that sometimes stances must be taken as the time requires. There are moments in human life that affect us for the rest of our life, for good or ill, depending on who or what is assisting us or betraying us, consciously or unconsciously. And of course, when we choose a path, we must leave behind other options that would hinder us in learning and practicing the wisdom that is ours to experience.
So consider this is a time when "the die is cast," when choices and changes are determining the future in ways unimaginable to us now, since the process itself won't make any sense as it unfolds. Even though there may be edginess, there's also magic and transformation at work, so ride the waves, be as reasonable as possible in the face of irrationality, and honor your quirks as well as your particular form of uniqueness and/or genius.
This energy will be around for a while, so take a deep breath, take the plunge into what path you know you must take, and don't worry about why it's so weird. It just is, and will be for quite a while. Remember also that The Grand Irrationality is also active for years to come, so at present there are about 14 times each month when these forks will be hit and choices must be made. It's all part of humanity becoming individuated, and consciously choosing what behaviors to cling to and which to transform.

Hey there Robert, how goes it with your journeying?
Liking this article a lot, brought me the thrill of that crazy anticipation when getting seated for a rollercoaster i'm in for the magical & transformational ride. Joy to all H

Robert,
Welcome to the Southwest! May your time here be joyously productive and prosperous. Even though Giant Changes & Crazy Process feel like a recurring birthday gift to me, my Pisces 23 Ascendant plus Pisces 27 Sun and Mercury, have me quivering a bit in my celestial fin-boots! Does this shed light on why, just about Now, it's harder and harder to separate dimensions, levels and planes, and why time seems to be collapsing upon itself? At the same time, my grounded, topside work is also barrelling ahead (sideways? upside downside?) at warp speed. I learned millennia ago how to ride these tsunami waves, but it's still a challenge finding others equally exhilirated to work without a NET (yes, pun intended). This one's really, really big for me in the best possible way, isn't it?

Hey Robert,
Hope things are going the way you want! As for the above commentary, is there a way we can choose, None of the above?(hee hee). It sounds scary to a person who just wants to be bored...

I think I am getting close to having barfed up everything on this rollercoaster ride that I have to give. So maybe I can just lay back now and feel ill.
My boss is now focused on someone else's negatives and I have actually gotten a few kudos. Ripping the gallery apart and putting it back together with new paint & flooring in August. Boss threatens to fly into town this week.
I think I need to start taking some form of herbal prozac to supplement the Grand Marnier.
Years you say, Robert? Years? 14 times a month? I am 51 and my wife is good but her 8th house is empty, mine has sun on cusp, moon and Mars in Virgo. Where should I look for a mistress to supply the endorphins I need?

Robert,
Here is a twister for you...ok you don't need it maybe but do indulge me.
So I was reviewing some old horoscopes for Aries and Saggitarius, aries as one of my special friends is one and i know 'somewhat' of what is going on in his life and now that i know you are one too.
On comparing i find that for the last 2-3 years aries horoscopes keep talking about relationships this and that and Saggitarius - money, career etc. Its quite depressing for me to see that all my life - all my capable waking life - for the last decade and a half - has been all about security issues. Love offers security in life too but I wonder if the god's have forgotten what they preach.
The sky does not look to break in the next few but wish it would rain.
Love and Blessing :-) All in good sport.

Hi H - Am still on the road, set to take off for Florida in a few days, so commenting again will be sparse! It's a pretty wild ride for most I know, with great promise despite the edges and crashes that send misguided ones hurtling through the air all around. I think the next 2000 days' ride will be awesome to say the least.
Hi Rachel - So far it's great. Love the weather, love the landscape, love the skies and love the mountains. Thanx for the productive and prosperous wishes. Right now there's a blurring of many things that once separated people and ideas and so forth, probably because it's the edge of change, where many options open simultaneously so we can choose our destiny for the next cycles. Pluto is definitely putting you through changes, so pay attention to details, finish your education however that applies, and release pressures no longer appropriate to where you want to go and be. It's pretty big for many, and for many it involves the choices of a lifetime to go forward into greater power and realizations or get clobbered by karma for stubbornness or fear. I think next year will prove excellently unique and gifted for you.
Hi Mary - Things are going, that's for sure. I'm finding that major change challenges the "family system," whether blood or close friends. Some parts adapt willingly, other parts resist. Wouldn't know how to be bored if I had to. Just too much to do.
Hi Richard - Well, once you surrender to the inevitable, it feels good to stop beating your head against the proverbial wall. Just do what you can, and don't worry about the rest, since it's not really under your control how another's compulsions will manifest. Just glad you've dodged enough bullets that you know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. Herbs are good if you find the right ones. Oriental medicine has literally saved my life more than once. As for 14 times a month, just think of how many options for productive conscious change we're being offered! Empty 8th doesn't necessarily mean whatever. Endorphins is as endorphins does. Raising the pain threshold is a good discipline so we have perspective about what really hurts! (And mythologically "End orphan" always intrigued me as a phonetic homonym.)
Hi abacus - Don't know why generic horoscopes would say my tribe has been about relationships, since Saturn in the 5th deals more with self-expression, creativity, spontaneity, etc. Neptune's been in the house of friends, but that's longer than 2-3 years. Don't know why they'd accent Sag career, since it's been more about karma, rewards, closures, new environments, shared wealth and values, social values, higher truths, higher education, traveling, and/or intuitive flashes. All security issues relate to Saturn and and Moon. Use Saturn in whatever house wisely, and you can find security from those affairs. Deal with Saturn's natal position to find lasting security while you're in this body. And the rain is coming - but for most of our world, "it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard rain that's gonna fall..."

Hi Robert,
I loved your article. It does however, open up some questions for me regarding the hot issue of the North American Union being the trigger behind the illegal invasion/occupation.
I wonder from an astrological perspective the possible out come of this massive deception and intrigue, when you have described only more irrationality. I am very concerned.
Thank You in advance for your consideration and courtesy extended.

Hi Elena - The dysfunctional system is collapsing. Period. There is no possible sustainability to the present economic and environmental situation on a global level. This is merely one more of many points of decision, where everyone is aligning themselves with Culture or barbarism, Peace or war, Construction or destruction, isolation and exploitive separativeness or Community. These work on every dimension, personal, interpersonal, and transpersonal, both separately and simultaneously. The outcome will be wreckage, but the distant outcome is the redemption of Culture, Community, Wisdom, and Love, expressed through intelligent action on many levels. Please take the long view, and re-read the many articles in the archives about my take on the short term and long term view of the 21st Century, which is very hopeful, after this current delusion passes, with all the accompanying wreckage.

hello robert
i was wondering if you could tell me what your thoughts are on jupiter in sagittarius going direct and how it will affect fire and water signs/houses?
lotta heat right? lol have you watched the weather channel at all?
Posted by: robyn | August 05, 2007 at 11:25 PM
I am feeling a strong, burn-out related, urge to make work changes but my family's financial stability is quite dependant on my current situation. I am pursuing many new artistic directions right now and am being cautious in making major changes. In ways, I feel that I am carefully laying a new foundation and being open to new directions. My husband is experiencing changes in his self-employed business related to business partner breakdown. So if you say this is a 'die is cast' moment, I would have to say I am operating under the fear of change from a very beneficial stable yet unfulfilling work situation. I am working in new directions spiritually and creatively though. Will I get a karma slap for not taking bigger risks?

Hi Robyn - Haven't been watching tv, but it seems not that hot here in the SW, where it looks like temps are in the mid-80s/low 90s, which is a blessing here in the desert! Now there are fires.... As for thoughts re: Jupiter direct, it should be a blessing for all who have learned Jupiter's promise these past 4 months, and it's going to open many doors for planets in Fire and Air, therefore opening houses they rule as well.
Hi Kristin - A comment stream is usually not adequate to address life transforming changes. That said, you're seeing the signs and signals that it IS time for a change, so it's your job to manage the transitional period in terms of when, how, inner and outer organization, and so forth. This is not the time for hasty decisions, but for planning, so it's great you regard this as a time of "carefully laying a new foundation and being open to new directions." Partner breakdown is always a prelude to new possibilities! In any case, do NOT fear change, since you don't have to do anything unnecessary. Also remember you may be picking up on others being stressed to the max, but don't have to hold those astral patterns inside you or even believe they belong to you. Jupiter will be VERY productive for you in 2008; use this Autumn to eliminate unproductive emotional states, be flexible, and by mid-2008 your life will be a series of unique gifts and miracles in motion. With Uranus where it is, you're in the process of a subtle, far-reaching, intuitive and compassionate revolution. So I would have to say, no fast moves right now, since everything will unfold in a fairly orderly fashion next year. Look to January for clues.

Hi Robert,
It is so very kind of you to answer inquries while you are on the road. I am an Aquarian (Feb 13, 1961) with Leo rising (27 degrees,18'31) The last two & half years have been really, really rough, especially regarding partnerships and career. I've been counting the days until Saturn moves thru and past my rising sign, but your latest post sounds like this will never end. Thanks for any insights you have time to share.

Hi Robert and everyone,
I wasn’t sure where to post this so I thought I would just place it here.
I was wondering if you had any thoughts about a certain kind of addiction to astrology. I have been thinking a lot about this recently. It seems SO many philosophies and tools that are very useful can actually be detrimental if used to avoid life rather than live more fully. I don’t think astrology is any different.
Reading all these posts (and I am no exception), there is a lot of stuff like; “I can’t wait until Saturn moves away from my Sun!” Or “Pluto squaring my Venus has been so painful; I can’t wait for this year to be over.” Sometimes, I have found myself almost feeling more like a prisoner of transits, constantly looking to when this influence will end or when a more fun one will begin. It can be a way to try to gain control of life, to have total knowledge of what is going to happen (which is impossible). I see this especially clear with the manifestation of my lunar nodes, I have an Aquarian south node in the 7th house. Astrology has been great but I am always in danger of using it as a way to become a little too removed, objective, and detached from my own life (always a danger with S. Node in Aquarius). Sometimes I fear I sacrifice the spontaneity and the unpredictable adventure-like quality of life because I am constantly analyzing what configuration is correlating to a specific experience.
Any thoughts, guys?
Ben

Hi Rochelle - These are the last comments for awhile. Saturn has taught you what you can and cannot live with, put you through a rigor, and now you have vastly different skills than you did 3 years ago. Saturn rules your work and partnership sectors, so it's no wonder that you've been put through the ringer. Saturn will still be in your first house for awhile. In fact, it's been in your 12th up to now, helping you see the movie of your life from a broader perspective and ending whatever has brought you sorrow up to now. Get to work, get trained however it's appropriate, and learn to make time and patience your allies. Jupiter has shown you a greater vision and a wider reality of goals and friendships while expanding your foundations. Next year is about play and creativity, calculated to bring you long term rewards. You will reap karma next year, most likely good on a practical level due to your diligence, perseverance, and steady foundations.
Hi Ben - There will be several articles over the next week or so addressing aspects of what you raise here. Briefly, one cannot "be addicted" to astrology. One can be clueless and place faith in belief systems rather than oneself; one can be evasive and blame or attribute causation to whatever externals can be targeted; but astrology cannot be "addictive," since only an individual can be addicted to whatever attracts them. (I've known junkies who could kick heroin in a few dozen hours, but had a much harder time with their ego!) I have known people who were paralyzed by the thought of bad aspects, but that was their problem, not astrology, and one should NOT abandon any spiritual practice simply because one's own ego or another's misuses that practice. There is something to be said for waiting until certain transits are past before doing something, else we wind up in a ditch due to bad timing. The coming article on belief systems addresses some of those concerns. Also, there is something to be said for waiting out storms, or you take the chance on getting wet at best and hit by lightning at worst. This is not superstition, but the laws of "right timing." Another way to put it is that if we launch our boats when the tide is coming in, there's no one to blame but ourselves when our boats wind up on the sand. Timing is everything. That's why astrology is so universally respected. It's not about controlling life; it's about controlling one's responses to life. Your tendencies to analyze things may be other factors in your chart than astrology, but in any case, you should definitely become more creative and playful and less detached. Thanks for raising some important questions about the dance individuals do with the craft.
