Now that we've been living with Saturn conjunct the South Node for a few weeks and will be until mid-December around the time of Saturn's retrograde station, I thought I'd give a reflection on what I've seen so far. Seems like a perfect Mercury RX thing to do, especially since Mercury is the dispositor of Saturn and thus has something to do with how we view it.
I responded to one of many questions about how to use the Saturn conjunct South Node wisely with the following:
I observe that the Saturn-SN conjunction has brought up things and people from the past that are better observed following the line of least resistance, since it seems there's little to do but learn from these various events. Sort of like taking a look at certain assumptions, duties, and obligations accepted in the past but time to shed now.
So far, I have seen it manifest several times recently as an echo from the past while seeing what's not working in the present. Old patterns of assumptions around duties, obligations, responsibilities have been put forth with no possible productive response but silence, letting go, and doing whatever would constitute the "line of least resistance."
Factoring in the Mercury RX influence, I've seen it work as discussing old problematic experiences from the hindsight of sober understanding, and examining inertias from whether they work magnetically in the present or not. The reconnections are great, even if there's a lot we cannot discuss at present. And of course the energies should shift significantly when it moves into Libra and goes stationary direct, still dispositing Saturn.
As the Mercury Retrograde period ends and we prepare to move forward in those areas with the insights gleaned from the past three weeks, we will have a sense of an ending. I would think that the ending, such as it is at any RX ending, will be one of going back as far as we need to in that area, and having retraced that ground there's a new "platform" of understanding enabling us to move forward with a different view. You'll find you can apply this in the coming Mars retrograde as well.
So to sum up, given Saturn's place in early Virgo and Mercury slipping back to a degree of transformation on a social-cultural level revealed as a result of a "mutation" associated with some expiation or dues-paying period, I would think that the outcome of this period is a heart's strength after being as practical as one can while shedding old chains and stones. It's definitely time to let go of useless fear, worry, criticisms of self or others, and do whatever discipline is natural for this time of reconnections, deep feelings, and new heart power leading us to the next stage of our practical discipleship, regardless of the form that takes.

Does this mean that if we experience strong emotions over circumstances or situations, we would be wise to accept those feelings, while perhaps not acting on them just yet?
I find your site to be a very positive place. Thanks for that.

Excuse me sir,
if you have the time,
could you point to some advice on how to achieve the things you speak of regarding:
cleaning up magnetism
reversing magnetism
if you could direct me to any reading material on magnetism at all that would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for all your time.

Hi Mary - Well, it suppose it is if you find the right point of view and don't get seduced by the general irrationality!
Hi severin - I always recommend that we step back from immediate strong emotions and examine what the best response would be, and whether the strong emotional charge is helpful. Right action is always clearer when we practice detachment, dispassion, and discrimination around anything that presents itself to our five senses and our minds for interpretation. And thanks for acknowledging the attempt to generate positivity, good will, and bodhichitta.
Hi elise - Well, since it's something we all have and must deal with, there are lots of works depending on your focus. For example, "The Wisdom of Florence Scovel Shinn" is great for cleaning up your thoughtforms, and therefore your expectations and attractions. Then in this site's archives are numerous articles about how to deal with negativity, "bad luck and bad karma," and other such illusions. Some were published on 9-9-07. 8-09-07, 8-15-07, 8-19-07, 8-26-07, 5-17-07, and 8-23-05 to name but a few. There are many more, such as articles taken from "The Magic of Space," "Fear is a Dangerous Disease," and others you can find via site google. Of course, there are numerous other vectors to assist in dealing with magnetics, including "The Holy Science" by Sri Yukteswar, "The Voice of the Silence" by HP Blavatsky, "At the Feet of the Master" by Alcyone, and many Tibetan Buddhist texts. Ultimately, cleaning up magnetism so you don't attract the causes of suffering and attract higher things involves forms of self-purification, and reversing magnetism involves generating the open mind and open heart of unconditional love and altruistic intention, to whatever degree you are able.

Hi all,
First, thank you Robert for sharing much good with us.
Since I am far from bookstores, I did a google search for Florence Scovel Shinn and found her books online.
Here is a link to The Game of Life adn How to Play it:

other books are also online, I found them via a link on her Wikipedia profile.

Hi Nandy - "The Wisdom of..." is a compilation of all 4 of her little works in one volume. I figure as long as you're ready for the first course, more should be at hand for your enjoyment! Since it's been in print for many years, there are plenty of used copies in good shape available from many online sites.
