A Cosmic Perspective on Mars' 2007 Retrograde Station Conjunct the Star Sirius - The Sun of our Sun

The star Sirius is said to be the most important star in our galaxy. It resides near 14 degrees of Cancer, very close to where Mars went stationary retrograde. That would imply that we stand on the threshold of receiving the awesome galactic wisdom residing in this star, and that we've reached a point where we can act differently than we have before now on the basis of that wisdom. So let's find out more about this powerful influence, the "Sun of our Sun."

It is said to be one of the "Dog Stars," with a brightness of the first magnitude. It is a brilliant white and yellow star, also known as "Orion's big dog." It is said to confer honor, renown, faithfulness, devotion, passion, and is associated with guardians, custodians, curators, and high government office.

The great astrologer Vivian Robson noted it had associations with Osiris and Thoth, and "formed the basis of the Sothic period of chronology." She says the Chinese knew it as Tseen Lang, "the Heavenly Wolf," though they thought it portended thievery, and Ptolemy thought its nature to be a combo of Mars and Jupiter, while another ancient included a Lunar influence as well.

It is said to correspond with the cetaceans, which we know as the whales and dolphins. These are said to be the celestial messengers from Sirius at the dawn of human existence, our friends and allies as we evolve on Earth. Both these species are at least as intelligent as humanity, and probably much more evolved, given our present global barbaric tendencies. Theirs is a wisdom of community, global awareness, and singing songs while playing in their own unique way.

Then there's what we know from Alice A Bailey and her Tibetan Master, an Initiate of the 5th circle we know as "D.K." We are told in "Initiation Human and Solar" that the "greater Lodge" of supremely higher levels of consciousness exist on Sirius. We read that it is a very potent cosmic influence on our Earth, the Sun of our Sun through which "the energy of thought, or mind force, in its totality, reaches the solar system from a distant cosmic center via Sirius.

Sirius acts as the transmitter, or the focalizing center, whence emanate those influences which produce self-consciousness in man." We are told it is the source of our planetary life on Earth, and that its energy moves through Earth's spiritual hierarchy transmitting "the principle of buddhi, of cosmic love. This, in a mysterious way, is the principle found at the heart of every atom."

Furthermore, the solar Logos uses pure electrical force from Sirius given by the Lord of the Lords of Karma to create conditions for very advanced Initiates to move into higher levels of awareness. Evidently Sirius is the home of a "greater Brotherhood" of Lodges of very high spiritual beings we know as planetary intelligences. We also read that its influence wasn't recognized "until Christ came and revealed the love of God to humanity. He is the expression, par excellence, of a Sirian initiation." It apparently is also where many of Earth's advanced Initiates will eventually go.

We also find that Sirius is the source of the impulse toward freedom that all beings on Earth experience. This is no small thing, as freedom is one of our Divine characteristics that keeps us evolving according to our own sense of the higher Way. As it is written in "The Rays and the Initiations,"

This principle of freedom is a leavening energy which can permeate substance in a unique manner; this divine principle represents an aspect of the influence which Sirius exerts on our solar system and particularly on our planet. This principle of freedom is one of the attributes of Deity (like will, love, and mind) of which humanity knows as yet little. The freedom for which men fight is one of the lowest aspects of this cosmic freedom, which is related to certain great evolutionary developments that enable the life or spirit aspect to free itself from the impact, the contact and the influence of substance.

There's much more in that volume and other works of the Tibetan, but some of it is fairly abstract. Boiling it down to soup, it would seem a new wave of freedom will spread across humanity, which of course will inspire some to greater realizations and others to react to that freedom in ways that are retrograde. Internalize your sense of what has or is freeing you for greater things to come.

That it went stationary retrograde in a grand water trine should make things perfectly clear by March-April 2008 exactly what has been freed for greater expression through what feelings have been allowed to flow between now and then. This retrograde portends some very important developments in the near future that will free humanity from the chains of obsolete thinking and living. Aum Namah Shivaya!

Robert...I can't believe this is happening at this time. I have not yet recieved my chart from you but this confirms what i have always secretly longed for in my thoughts fantasies and dreams.
I believe i have been one of the beings described here and have been separated from my "other". Furthermore i believe i have made contact with him over the past few weeks and i have been reeling ecstatically ever since. I have never felt such unconditional love. I wonder if he feels the same..he cerainly responds to me and elicits inspiration at evey oppertunity. While we live in different countries this does not even seem to be a paritcular obstacle...I'd be scared to tell my therapist this stuff( i am training as one at the moment and should be doing my thesis as i write)

Thank you Robert for all your recent posts. It is obvious that you are very Sirius about this Mars Retrograde portending major changes for all of us. I am reminded of one of my favorite songs by Bob Marley-Redemption Song, "these songs of freedom...." The old pirates tried to rob I and I, but they failed, and their day is done.
BTW-have you seen the movie "Zeitgeist?" It is causing quite a stir amoung the netroots. I found it to be a good summary of what the "old pirates" have tried to do. But we are still here, and still singing these songs of freedom. Aum Tat Sat.

I was about to write today as I became aware of the coming full moon at 2 Gemini/8th that trines my north node 2 Libra 12th/conjunct my venus 5 Libra 12th.. conjunct the Asc 12 Libra...and ask about that...when I read this article....my mid-heaven is 14 Cancer...and your description of it brought clarity to alot of dreams....things are becoming clear, and shifting within....it seems just when I need some "awareness'...I am guided to your site.

Hello Robert, WOW, this article is so on point and confirming. Just this morning, my supervisor @ work spoke w/me regarding my now "repeated lateness to work" and the possible repercussion of losing my job of 6+ years if this continues. Truth be told, I've changed and the lateness bears witness. I've explained to her that although I agreed with her, understood her position and respect that she must act within her authority -- I view life quite differently now. After having been confronted by a succession of "extremely difficult challenges" in the past 3 years, I am now very thankful for those "challenges" because they've freed me tremendously. I've witnessed first hand the power of God or infinite intelligence if you will and embrace moving forward into the unknown, certain that spiritual guidance is ever present(for all of us really)and therefore I am at peace. Yes it sounds crazy and no I am not a religious fanatic, but I now know that there is a life force much greater than finite intelligence and that it is those very life challenges that can and will be (if you allow it) a carthesis to open you up to greater joy, mental freedom and a vastness (thinking outside the box). In other words, when you lose your life you will "find" it. I'm looking forward to 2008 when things really take off, I can "feel" it. Taurus(sun), Scorpio(asc), Sagittaruis(moon). Your comment seems to me very interesting.
I'm too a Scorpio Rising, and through some big sorrows since childhood, today I can say: Without them in the past I wouldn't be able to recognize inner happiness (or plenitude) inside nowadays. I would be less alive. Pain always discloses big inner treasures on a long term range and through slow processes (though there is people that insists on hanging on the pain and becomes depressive). I think the pain is the longing of something larger and greater inside us that demands to be freed from inner -or outer- walls.

Yes, this is how it works. At least for us, Scorpio Risings.

Dear Robert,

thank you for the interesting information on sirius. I have always been keen to learn about this star having sun at 11 cancer, mars at 7 cancer and venus at 14 cancer in the second house you could imagine how intrigued I have been about this star and its impact if at all on my life. Another reason why Im trying to dig deeper into its significance is that i have a node at 14 aries exactly square my venus and I have read that having a node at the same degree of another planet in the chart binds the two in some meaningful way. I dont know enough about that and would really appreciate if you could shed some light(sirius light) on this too. I am actually looking forward to 2008 too, hoping for another chapter to open in my life.

I read with interest your comment...and I too am looking at/feeling new "strength/power" after a difficult couple of years...I am a scorpio..with moon in Taurus in the 8th...opposing my Sun/2nd...my situation/s are about power/control issues..and how I have jumped thru hoops in the past....that is dying...there is new strength, about what is best for me... manifesting in the ability to communicate those needs..regardless of the results....as you spoke of in your letter. Thank you for writing your expierence...as it helped me connect/trigger the "hidden power" that I needed to acess.

I am a beginner here..

From the north, Sweden. I have Mercury in Cancer 13,8 (8th house)- a grand water trine - Jupiter in Pisces 12,15 (third house) and Neptune 10,43 in Scorpio (11th house).
And a strong feeling for the old Egypt.

I never felt that I really belong here among humans..I see this life " a bit like a job".. I am quite worried about the life in the sea.. The pollution.
The planet has to defend herself.

Hi Marie - We all have some "Sirius" energies at work in the deepest parts of our psyche if we're on a path to Truth and/or Freedom. Sometimes our Twin Flame "recognizes" us, but may have personality issues or karmic connects to others. Still, I'm sure we never forget those we are bound to on a Soul level. And over time, I believe our higher Karmic bond to our Soul mates, helpmates, and Twin Flame lead us together as much as our personality allows.

Hi Maggie - Yes, you're absolutely a being on the Great Way from/to Sirius. You are a dolphin being, playful and wise. Perhaps you should study the lives of the cetaceans, as there may be metaphors for you. Actually, it's a case of stepping up the development and then watching for what/who shows up! Each feeds the other.

Hi WHR - Und guten tag fur dich. Any chart with Sirius near the Asc or MC is a clear sign of that person embodying that energy in their world. You probably seem to others to be otherworldly. And the holidays served to help me finish the move. so now the center is anchored!

Hi Lyzette - Glad you have thrown off a form of mental slavery, since we should not suffer from others who cannot think outside the box. Our challenges can serve to free us if we just find the right point of view, and it sounds like you took the opportunity to open to a vaster perspective and power of personal choice to step outside of enslaving views. The life force greater than finite intelligence was perfectly referenced in the famous quote from Goethe about when we commit, all sorts of unforeseen incidents, meetings and material assistance will rise up to help us. Definitely when we lose our ego assumptions it creates space for better things to enter our lives.

Hi Henry - I believe that we experience the results of prior karmas so we can indeed come into our truth of Being. I do believe we can learn to recognize the good without the bad being necessary, but that requires intense positivity. You may be interested in reading "Through the Gates of Gold" by Mabel Collins, usually found in a "two books in one" package with "Light on the Path," since it raises some interesting points about the duality of pleasure and pain for Western path Souls.

Hi kiwa - It shows that the Divine Revolutionizer in your life, that which symbolizes your uniqueness and genius, is exactly the energies of Sirius. It also shows that inspired Sirian energies can integrate the polarized planets in opposition and release powerful energies into 14 Cap, showing the need for a "valid historical perspective" in your life, as well as the need to see what is culturally enduring in situations and letting go of the superficial and irrelevant.

Hi aisha - I don't feel a square from the Lunar Nodes is that important, unless it's from the Moon. At most it shows your Venus is at "cross purposes" to that axis' meaning in your life, and that it is a point of release into Capricorn, which is also at cross purposes to your Nodal energies. Your Venus exactly conjunct Sirius would show that the areas ruled and occupied by Venus in your chart would be the portals for Sirian wisdom. Thanks for your blessings.

Just chiming in on the Sirius energy...I just listened to your tape again recently and you said something about some part of my chart having a relation to Sirius (I can't remember which off the top of my head). But on Thanksgiving Day I was out in a kayak and saw a whale swimming by not too far away. This post made me think about that...pretty cool :)

My uranus is in Cancer, 14°51'19 in house 12, and my Ascendant Cancer is 20°39'46 retrograde, Sun Pisces 0°51'25 in house 8. When you said the solar Logos uses pure electrical force from Sirius, it made me recall how I always felt a transmittence from some unknown place, but of course I kept it to myself.....Reading your post on Sirius makes me wonder if it was from there. I guess I am in the mix of all this right now. Since I am older now, phewwww, it's all beginning to make sense. Any additional insights? By the way, GREAT place to come and quench my thirst!

Hi Sky - Welcome to the cantina. Your uniqueness will be an expression of the Sirius wisdom energy. It should come out when you're in seclusion or meditation, or at the end of self-image transforming processes. As the spiritual ruler of your 8th house, it shows you have deep wisdom about regeneration, loss and gain, timeless values, and creating space that will be filled perfectly at the right time. Pisces knows more than it can ever express anyway, so give up all your insecurity as the feelings of something that is inherently unreal to begin with, and accept your role as a witness and conscience in your world.
