Jupiter in Capricorn should bring organization and power resulting from the new horizons, adventures, visions of higher truths, and greater opportunities opened up by 2007's Jupiter in Sag. Jupiter, the "expansive principle" inside us, "guru" in Sanskrit, teaches us various ways to liberate ourselves as it makes it way through the zodiac. Wherever we have Sagittarius and Pisces planets and houses, take responsibility, get organized, and develop a long term plan.
Today is a brief overview for each sign for 2008. It's a year of practical stability as we approach a larger collective threshold state indicated by the coming squares and oppositions. The first half of 2008 shows Mars in opposition to Pluto, Neptune, and then Uranus, while late 2008 Mars brings these transpersonal energies to fulfillment, preparing us for the intensity of 2009. Get things lined up securing whatever is practical and useful for the future, since Jupiter offers protective or expansive opportunities to help us in the wild ride of years to come!
Welcome to the first of several articles about what's coming. There are many things to discuss, since 2008 promises to be a year of initiating new opportunities, new disciplines, new actions, new regimes, and new values. After many years of minimal Earth, this year will bring forth maximum advantages from persevering, organized, mature intention.
Yes, Diva Annie Lennox has a Christmas birthday, so I figured I'd find a video or three for your Christmas enjoyment. Indeed, "sweet dreams are made of this..." May you all have a great day however you can wherever you are.
While composing a comment in another stream, I starting listing the ways I've seen this Mars retrograde period operate, and the ongoing oppositions yield their own insights. Today I'll share a few.
You probably don't need reminding, but this is a time of many oppositions with the added energy of the Full Moon bringing many things to a head, so expect internal and external polarizations and realizations. This very strong storm of oppositions we're dealing with began in mid-December and will last through early January.
The Winter Solstice occurs December 21 at 10:08 pm PST, which is 1:08 am EST and 6:23 am GMT December 22. Thus for everyone east of MST, the Solstice occurs on December 22. This is the shortest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, and from now on the Solar force will get longer and stronger, a welcome relief for those of us who need lots of sunshine to keep our dispositions equally sunny.
Though we are almost at the Winter Solstice, December is the month that features the Fire of Sagittarius, and in 2007 we have had more Sagittarius planets than usual. When the Sun transits Sagittarius we are challenged to open to a wider view, a greater truth, and a more generous attitude regarding future possibilities. This is the sign of the quest, where the abstract mind opens to a higher reality and ideally finds a more abundant sense of humor and perspective.
As noted in part 2, What Does the Chart of Jupiter Conjunct Pluto at the Galactic Center Tell Us? this Jupiter conjunct Pluto happens once in 12 years, and both the chart done for the time of the conjunction and the location of the conjunction itself yield profound insights as to how it will affect each sign for the next dozen years. Today we take a brief look at this 12 year influence for each of the signs.
Taking a break from Jupiter, Pluto, the Galactic Center and Mars retrograde, let's reconsider some primary factors in our lives. Though Astrology teachs us what, why, and when the pulses of our Reality manifest, the "7 Sacred Planets" also symbolize greater forces and things. For example, each planet is associated with a color, tone, and Chakra, the bodily magnetic centers that receive and transmit Electric Fire. If you've wondered why the number 7 is so special, you'll definitely want to read on.
I've read a lot already being spoken about this conjunction, and it seems as though many are waiting for anyone from Santa Claus to the Devil himself to manifest as a result of these planets coming together. Of course, the conjunction falls in Sagittarius every 250 years give or take. Jupiter has a stronger influence due to its rulership of Sag, so count on its expansive influence to quicken the growth of whatever seeds of transformation Pluto brings forth from the Galactic Center.
As noted yesterday, Jupiter conjuncts Pluto once every 12 years, mas o menos. It is useful to do a chart for all significant conjunctions between transits, since it offers a glimpse of what the subsequent cycle is about. Where it falls in our charts shows where the fused energies will manifest. This one has the Sun and Mercury conjunct Jupiter and Pluto, a Grand Water Trine, and a Mystic Rectangle. If you're interested in this chart that will influence individuals, groups, nations and the world, read on.
