Previous Jupiter-Pluto Conjunctions at the Galactic Center - Pt. 3

I've read a lot already being spoken about this conjunction, and it seems as though many are waiting for anyone from Santa Claus to the Devil himself to manifest as a result of these planets coming together. Of course, the conjunction falls in Sagittarius every 250 years give or take. Jupiter has a stronger influence due to its rulership of Sag, so count on its expansive influence to quicken the growth of whatever seeds of transformation Pluto brings forth from the Galactic Center.

Having investigated these before now, I thought I should take a look at previous Jupiter-Pluto conjunctions to the Galactic Center, and found they have occurred several times in the past two millennia. In my usual compulsion to be thorough I went back 2000 years to find all Jupiter-Pluto conjunctions and found interesting correlations.

We start our scan with Jupiter and Pluto conjunct each other and the GC in November 26 AD at 30 Scorpio (GC around 29 Scorpio). They again came together Dec 275 AD at 9 Sag (GC around 3 Sag) and in Jan, Jul, and Sep 525 AD at 16, 15, and 14 Sag respectively (GC around 6 Sag).

They conjuncted the GC again in 774 AD at 24 and 22 Sag (GC around 11 Sag), in 1260 AD at 10 Sag (GC around 17 Sag), and in Feb, May, and Sept 1509 at 17, 16, and 15 Sag (GC around 20 Sag). The last time Jupiter and Pluto conjuncted in Sag was Nov 1758 at 22 Sag, very close to the GC around 23 Sag. Right now we are told the GC is around 26 degrees Sag 52 minutes, so this conjunction is also fairly close, though not as close as others across time.

Of note is that over 2000 years, there was never an instance of one being direct while the other was RX. Either both were direct, or both were RX. In fact, in all years where they conjuncted more than once, the first and third conjunctions were always direct and the second showed both retrograde. They usually conjunct three times in a year between 25-60 years from the last cluster of conjunctions.

There have been Jupiter-Pluto conjunctions in every sign, of course, and a great number of them have formed every possible aspect to the Galactic Center point across the centuries. There were more oppositions to the GC than I would have thought, and it might be interesting to research subsequent events to both the conjunctions AND to the oppositions. For those who want to know, oppositions occurred in 174 AD, 423-424 AD, 673, 910, 922, 1171, 1408, 1657, 1906, with the next one coming 2155.

So in this era of hyper-inflated expectations about this conjunction and the hype and rumors that this event has never occurred before and other such assertions, take time to slow down, take the long view, and remember that the Galactic Center affects our entire Solar System, so it may or may not show in some dramatic fashion on a personal level. However, you can bet that the conjunction will manifest in our lives in some very personal and far-reaching ways, based in where it falls in our charts and the aspects it makes to our planets, whether natal, progressed, or in our Solar Return charts.

This isn't going to have a global impact, but today my dog got sick. He's a Gemini (June 18, age 13)and the conjunction is opposite his sun. Pretty wierd, huh. I don't normally go for pet astrology. He got severely dehydrated, I took him to the vet for some TLC- he may have just picked up a bug or ate something bad for him. I think he'll be okay but it scared the daylights out of me. He's usually pretty healthy.

As to the dates above- it will be interesting to look them up and see what major events correspond to them!!

What you are forgeting is that on the previous conjunctions Jupiter has had with Pluto while in conjunction with the GC, we have not known about it, as Pluto was not discovered at that time. It makes a massive difference when to the conscience.

Interesting indeed. Do you think the latest scientific report on global warming and the melting artic - the report said so much ice melted this summer, they now think the Arctic could disappear by 2012!-has to do with this conjunction or with the oppositions you mentioned previously?

TO Robert and all others. I agree with "when to conscience" I think there has been a cumulative growth in consciosness due to increased information and knowledge especially with advanced technology.
Ask the Pluto Scorpio generation. So if we all consciosly aspire to manifest the positive attributes of the planets and their placings on a world wide view.Maybe we could say May mars manifest the grace of nurturing on the earth and when in Leo May mars manifest strenghth through humility not pride. If astrology or other occult practises expose to some the planetary concepts and alignments then it is the resposibility to issue only the enlightened manifestations. Too much knowledge can be a confusing dilemma for the masses.I think faith is all we need.. Feeling the Knowing... Aum Shanti

Certainly today is a more powerful day. Pluto is conjunt Jupiter in 29ºSag, and there is as aspecting pattern around 9º Vir/Can/Sco, formed by transiting Saturn, retrogade Mars and Venus.
So any transits over planets we have in those degrees, will be activated today and tomorrow :-)

Hi Valerie - Sorry your pet got sick. "Severely" anything is usually Jupiter regarding worldly things, since it shows excessive conditions for good or ill. May he get better quick!

Hi MJ - I promise I'm not forgetting anything. The outer invisibles were well known to the ancients and initiates of all ages. Only the public were unaware. They still are, in the sense that the vast majority of people on Earth don't know "Jupiter conjunct Pluto at the Galactic Center" from the Popul Vu. Not to be grim, but most humans barely recognize what conscience (or being conscious) is, or we wouldn't have such widespread greed, fear, war, violence, and cruelty. It is the current leap from unconsciousness to semi-consciousness that is putting humanity through such birth pains and why there is so much widespread polarization and fear.

Hi Elizabeth - This conjunction (Jupiter/Pluto) is the beginning of a 12 year cycle of eye-opening to a broader vision and greater truth (Sag), so yes, I do believe this ushers in dramatic change on every level of human existence on our Earth. I don't know that our monkeywrenching the environment these past two centuries has much to do with "galactic" anything, but it sure will have an impact on the Earth and Her creatures. I would think Galactic manifestations would be very vast, even beyond our Solar System. Maybe we'll get Contact in this next cycle, though I can understand why our friends from outer space may be gun shy, given the number of guns pointed at anything our governments can't or want to control. To reiterate, fear is a very dangerous disease.

Hi Felita - We're definitely on the Path of Return at the dawning of the Dwapara Yuga, the era of electromagnetic remembrance that will ultimately lead us to a view of life, matter, energy, time and space like we haven't known in over 10,000 years. Pluto in Scorpio may see widespread destruction, but also holds promise of embracing energies beyond anything humanity has known in a loooooong time. Great affirmation that "May Mars manifest the grace of nurturing on the earth and when in Leo may Mars manifest strength through humility not pride." I agree that generating focus on positive manifestation is always preferable to doom and gloom.;-) As for knowledge and the masses, we KNOW we're not supposed to be killing, fearing, torturing or enslaving, since we KNOW we're not supposed to be doing to another what we wouldn't want done to us, but funny how many justify it in the name of whatever.....

Robert, our galatic neighbours will certainly only make a clear global contact when humanity is ready, and more evolved in spiritual and ethical terms, which is definitely not now.
We are progressing that point however.
Global peace, global awakening, care for our friendly animals, plants and landscapes, care for our geological planet and our climate, reverence for the creation, more ethics in our society, in jobs and in relationships, a transparent approach to money, giving everyone a oportunity to have shelter, food and companionship, and plenty other aspirations.

I think our galatic friends are closely watching us; some may be in fact already contacting a few people around (I would not dismiss that in for example some very convincing and spiritual-inclined channeling). Moreover, I strongly hope that this present global awakening spreads beyond the grassroots and into the mainstream. That would certainly be our start of a GLOBAL awakening. From Africa to the US. From Europe ro Russia. From the common people to governments and rich men. Maybe as we pass through 2012 who knows...
