Having great feedback on attaining 1,000,000 visitors in 1100 days, a short history of the Aquarius Papers may be of interest. So, once upon a time in a land far, far, away.... I found my way to The Blog. Blogging is different than a web site, which I did for years with mixed success. When I started "The Aquarius Papers - Astrology for All" at Salon.com, it was an experiment to see how many people are into astrology on the web. Willing to try something different involving multiple realms, I added a section called "The Outer Edge" where I posted metaphysical articles and investigative reports on important socio-economic, environmental, and political urgencies confronting our nation and world.

This long post was inspired by a comment about contradictions and speculations regarding 2012, the Mayan calendar, the end of our current Age, the beginning of the New Age, and the challenges of finding our way to accurate information about the meaning of all this. If we would cut through the glamor, illusion, and Maya surrounding our current transitional period, then it's good to examine the nature of time, perception, and how our minds work. Welcome to today's theme.

Following up on yesterday's post, today we discuss what to expect in future years as Saturn continues to restructure Pluto's power of Divine Transformation for every generation on Earth. In it I touch on the coming Cardinal squares and oppositions sure to cut major forces loose in our world over the next few years, and elaborate on themes we began to explore in part 1 regarding how all of us currently alive on Earth can best use these major energies already showing up in our world.

Though I originally wrote this article a while ago, it seems like a good time to republish it since many with Pluto in Virgo are wondering how it's affecting them. Briefly, when Saturn conjuncts Pluto it restructures our Divine Power of Eternal Transformation, and marks the end and beginning of a major spiritual journey of self purification. Everyone on Earth has been through this, or is going through this, or will go through this in the next few years. If you want to know more, read on.

"We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately." Dr. Ben Franklin said this immortal phrase at the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and it is as true today as it was then. We are all interdependent in both large and small ways, more than we suspect. Alone, we can barely keep up with the demands of living in the 21st century, and usually feel isolated from others and ourselves. With friends, in community, we are happier and don't feel so overwhelmed with all there is to deal with. We find others who share our experience, and those with whom we can share a mutual wisdom, each contributing to a greater understanding for both.

Today we continue our examination of what the Virgo-Pisces total Lunar Eclipse holds for our world. As it builds on themes introduced in Part 1, you may want to re-read that before picking this one up, since I discuss the See Saw effect and some other critical elements of the Eclipse chart, as well as different rising signs around the world at the Eclipse. Overall, a very productive eclipse that will liberate everyone in some way between now and August, as well as for years to come!

Soon we'll have the first Lunar Eclipse of 2008 at 2 degrees of Virgo-Pisces. The midpoint of this total eclipse will occur on Feb 20 at 10:26 pm EST, Feb 21 for Greenland and points east. This is very close to the last Lunar Eclipse of August 2007 at 5 Virgo-Pisces, so expect echoes. Since Full Moons always fulfill the energies of the previous New Moon, this Eclipse will sprout the seeds of the Feb 2008 Solar Eclipse. Both eclipses are shutting some old ways of life down forever (as all eclipses do), leaving us space to embrace the new already waiting for us exactly mirroring what we've prepared for up to now. These will shine a light on closures, courage, and transmutation of energies into personality strengths in our process of going through our "liberating ordeals" that are protective mechanisms ultimately restructuring our lives, and what work we consider important.

February accents the Sun in the Air sign Aquarius, where we can find a larger world service, a wider view of a greater good for all, and a more ideal way to live, individually and collectively. This sign sees how and with whom we can make a larger contribution, as well as the power of managing our own or others’ energies on various levels of human experience. Mercury moving between 9-24 Aquarius 3 times from Jan through mid-March 2008, with Venus joining the party in late Feb, should help us all see things from a much larger point of view of what we can contribute and when to launch our vision of a better way to live and be.

Well, I've been telling everyone for quite a while that the weather is getting weirder! If you need verification, here's a recent article from the AP that may help to firm up your opinion if you're still sitting on a fence. Of course I'll be posting more metaphysics forthwith in the next few dozen hours. For now, welcome to our future of a much hotter Earth....

A quick look at the patterns occurring now in late February shows a distinct quickening, with more and more of the old peeling away or falling back in our rear view mirror. Mercury is speeding up, preparing to go direct, Venus is changing signs, and of course the big news is the Lunar Eclipse at 7:30 pm PST February 20 from 2 Virgo to 2 Pisces, activating protective energies that will show forms of the "liberating ordeal" all of humanity will go through in April-May 2008 that will have severe aftershocks throughout Summer 2008.

Every Valentine's Day I post something about love, since this is the day supposedly dedicated to lovers everywhere. Today we take a new look at why it's good to know when someone may be trying to manipulate or fool our affections, as well as whether they actually care for us. This is a primary factor in achieving an ideal love.

In the first two parts of this series, we explored what Saturn conjunctions bring and which signs and age groups have been most affected by Saturn's "destiny shaping" quality. Today, in Part 3, we'll explore how the squares and oppositions fit into a larger pattern set into motion at the conjunction to the Ascendant.

In Part 1, we explored Saturn's effects when it conjuncts a planet in our chart, as well as what we experience when it gets near our Ascendant. Today we'll explore who has been most affected by this long lasting influence on our lives, character, and destiny.

Knowing how transiting Saturn affects a chart is an oft-recurring question in my comment streams and personal sessions with clients. Saturn symbolizes that part of us where our socio-cultural biases, limitations, and rigidities run up against the Cosmic Timekeeper of our Higher Transpersonal responsibilities, aka "Dharma." In this 3-part series we'll explore Saturn aspects and influences. Today we take a new look at what it means when Saturn makes a conjunction to natal planets or the Ascendant.

Many on a path to Truth, at least once if not more often, wish they could retire from the world, and seek a life of contemplation and purposeful activity away from the hectic pace of the modern urban existence. Many have planets in key signs or houses showing these kinds of past life karmas, and are caught in an internal dilemma of retreating from the world to do "spiritual practice," or hang out in the world of desires, achievements, and different kinds of relationships that can be either pleasurable, painful, or both. Today we consider a few key points to remember as we dance through initiatives and retreats in our lives.

By now many of you have read The Solar Eclipse of February 6-7, 2008 in Aquarius offering an Astrological view of the eclipse. To get a deeper insight into its nature and possibilities of positive use of these energies, I consulted the I Ching for commentary on the question "How to make best use of the Aquarius Eclipse energies?" If you'd like to find out what it told me, read on.

Over the years many have asked me what Mercury retrograde is good for. We know it's supposedly NOT a good time to sign contracts, make purchases of electronics or major moves or decisions, and we are supposed to hang out with the energies, seeing that things may not be as they appear, and so on. That said, there is much that a Mercury retrograde period is good for, such as traveling, research, and other important things.

Today we take a brief look at one of the intersections of fate and free will. There is a widespread misconception about Astrology that because our charts show it's a "good" time or "bad" time for certain things we are allowed to ignore our responsibility to act as we should and not act as we shouldn't. To quote some timeless wisdom from The Bard, "The fault, dear Brutus, lies not in our stars, but in ourselves if we are underlings." We alone manifest our lives through the consequences of our actions and inactions. Whether or not these are in our best interests and can really get our intention accomplished determines a lot of what happens.

When Mercury is retrograde in Aquarius it's a good time to re-examine our internal connections, and find what we've lost in the way of ideal visions of a greater way that make us feel like we're contributors to a better world. Take a new look at your internal and external ways of why you do or do not want to be part of a larger group work, and how we can concretize that which feeds our sense of greater purpose through managing collective power.
