February accents the Sun in the Air sign Aquarius, where we can find a larger world service, a wider view of a greater good for all, and a more ideal way to live, individually and collectively. This sign sees how and with whom we can make a larger contribution, as well as the power of managing our own or others’ energies on various levels of human experience. Mercury moving between 9-24 Aquarius 3 times from Jan through mid-March 2008, with Venus joining the party in late Feb, should help us all see things from a much larger point of view of what we can contribute and when to launch our vision of a better way to live and be.

Well, I've been telling everyone for quite a while that the weather is getting weirder! If you need verification, here's a recent article from the AP that may help to firm up your opinion if you're still sitting on a fence. Of course I'll be posting more metaphysics forthwith in the next few dozen hours. For now, welcome to our future of a much hotter Earth....

A quick look at the patterns occurring now in late February shows a distinct quickening, with more and more of the old peeling away or falling back in our rear view mirror. Mercury is speeding up, preparing to go direct, Venus is changing signs, and of course the big news is the Lunar Eclipse at 7:30 pm PST February 20 from 2 Virgo to 2 Pisces, activating protective energies that will show forms of the "liberating ordeal" all of humanity will go through in April-May 2008 that will have severe aftershocks throughout Summer 2008.

Every Valentine's Day I post something about love, since this is the day supposedly dedicated to lovers everywhere. Today we take a new look at why it's good to know when someone may be trying to manipulate or fool our affections, as well as whether they actually care for us. This is a primary factor in achieving an ideal love.

In the first two parts of this series, we explored what Saturn conjunctions bring and which signs and age groups have been most affected by Saturn's "destiny shaping" quality. Today, in Part 3, we'll explore how the squares and oppositions fit into a larger pattern set into motion at the conjunction to the Ascendant.

In Part 1, we explored Saturn's effects when it conjuncts a planet in our chart, as well as what we experience when it gets near our Ascendant. Today we'll explore who has been most affected by this long lasting influence on our lives, character, and destiny.

Knowing how transiting Saturn affects a chart is an oft-recurring question in my comment streams and personal sessions with clients. Saturn symbolizes that part of us where our socio-cultural biases, limitations, and rigidities run up against the Cosmic Timekeeper of our Higher Transpersonal responsibilities, aka "Dharma." In this 3-part series we'll explore Saturn aspects and influences. Today we take a new look at what it means when Saturn makes a conjunction to natal planets or the Ascendant.

Many on a path to Truth, at least once if not more often, wish they could retire from the world, and seek a life of contemplation and purposeful activity away from the hectic pace of the modern urban existence. Many have planets in key signs or houses showing these kinds of past life karmas, and are caught in an internal dilemma of retreating from the world to do "spiritual practice," or hang out in the world of desires, achievements, and different kinds of relationships that can be either pleasurable, painful, or both. Today we consider a few key points to remember as we dance through initiatives and retreats in our lives.

By now many of you have read The Solar Eclipse of February 6-7, 2008 in Aquarius offering an Astrological view of the eclipse. To get a deeper insight into its nature and possibilities of positive use of these energies, I consulted the I Ching for commentary on the question "How to make best use of the Aquarius Eclipse energies?" If you'd like to find out what it told me, read on.

Over the years many have asked me what Mercury retrograde is good for. We know it's supposedly NOT a good time to sign contracts, make purchases of electronics or major moves or decisions, and we are supposed to hang out with the energies, seeing that things may not be as they appear, and so on. That said, there is much that a Mercury retrograde period is good for, such as traveling, research, and other important things.
