I was asked to comment on the recent conjunctions at 20 Pisces with Jupiter at 20 Capricorn, Chiron at 20 Aquarius, with the Moon joining the " 20 degree club" at 20 Sag on March 27-28. This was a very productive set of fusions and resonant patterns impacting us in important ways over the next year. Though this article is somewhat technical, we can learn a lot by examining the forces involved.
Mercury, Venus, and Uranus all were in close proximity to each other this past week. Mercury conjuncted Venus on March 24, fusing our Taurus, Gemini, Virgo, and Libra planets and houses at 15 Pisces. Where this falls in our charts is where we will work through this coming year's issues and lessons of the previously mentioned signs. March 27-28 Mercury sextiled Jupiter and conjuncted Uranus, followed on March 28-29 by Venus making the same aspects just as Jupiter completed its exact sextile with Uranus.
Sextiles are inherently productive in a naturally stabilizing way. This has been, and continues to be, a very productive period due to the Jupiter sextile Uranus that will continue in close sextile through June 2008, then recede to a quintile in August and early September before going back into sextile through early December when they move into a septile. As the sextile holds sway most of the year, it should help us get and stay organized in the life areas ruled by Capricorn and Pisces.
I'll point out here that the sextile is exact for quite a few weeks to come, and plays a very important part in the Mars in Cancer opposition Jupiter in Capricorn and trine Uranus to come in mid-April. This will happen in the 22-23 degree spans of those signs, and marks a period when we can pull together things and activities previously polarized into concrete forms of work, health, and/or spiritual service. This is the result of the work we've done resulting from the Mars opposition Jupiter in late 2007
Mercury and Venus conjunct Uranus sets these planets' yearly cycles connected to Uranus into motion, offering us ideas and relationships that should prove productive in some very deep ways. That the conjunction occurred at 20 Pisces shows that we should find the nourishment we need among those with whom we are connected by the web of life. It may bring forms of "ingathering" of energies, which to me could manifest as a constructive regeneration, retreat, or "gathering one's medicine." It could bring people and information that we need at the end of a cycle of activity.
20 degrees is the culmination of the span that begins at 16 degrees of a sign. It is the fulfillment of the first third of the second half of the sign, which we are told is an "actional" level of activity, and naturally leads to the emotional-social-cultural span of 21-25 of a sign. 20 degrees is also the culminative degree of the second decan of a sign, showing the fulfillment of that type of related energy. So 20 Pisces is the culmination of the Cancer decan of Pisces, just as 20 Capricorn is the culmination of the Taurus decan of Cap, 20 Aquarius is the culmination of the Gemini part of that sign, and 20 Sag is the culmination of the Aries part of Sag. There is also a more ancient decan system, but that would only obscure the principle I'm trying to get across here.
So this past week, Mercury and Venus energies touched the creative uniqueness of Uranus in productive relationship to Jupiter, the expander of whatever is in relationship to it. This should have been a productive time between many different areas of our lives influenced by Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Virgo, Libra, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. Chiron is now occupying Neptune's stationary point, showing that as we rise to our higher calling, we should find rewards from Spirit, or at the least, a form of healing that constitutes a sign from our Higher Self.
It's important to point out that when the Moon crossed 20 Sag, it released the Mercury-Venus-Uranus conjunction energies in some very good ways, since Jupiter, ruler of the Moon, is in harmony to the Pisces energies being released. The voids were at 20 Gemini and Virgo, implying that there is a lot to assimilate in the swirl of the past week, and whether we knew it or not, we launched a new adventure in consciousness despite feeling that something was inadequate, either in ourselves or the resources at our disposal.

Hi robert,
You talk of so many energies being released and assimilated, crisscrossing the zodiac belt!
Nothing happened for me tho my ascendant is 20 pisces!? What gives?
On a less personal note, how does one also assess what the most powerful planet influencing one's life could be? In Vedic astrology it is the planet with the greatest degree, the atmakaraka or the soul planet that is the final arbiter of one's fate generally speaking.

Hola Robert-san...
I am beginning to feel inner struggles/shifts/old voices
and starting to "observe" and comprehend... unconcious repeated old patterns....as I observe...the old is breaking apart,....past communications with you ref endings/liberations taking concrete form in May...bring up the 2 Full Moons in Scorpio Apr/May....one at 1 Scorp...and the 2nd at 29 Scorp. Both Full...one at beginning, one at ending...I have had some dreams about this...(an actor Colin Farrel showing me two Full moons-one in the East and one in the West)...the first conjunct my neptune in the first..the second conjunct my Sun in the second....what is the significance of 2 Full Moons in the same sign...at beginning and end? Culminations/Harvest...but 2 choices?
Did I just answer my own question?
Grasias amigo...WHR

Hi Ann - Paypal is the only way if you're overseas, unless you know someone who can mail me a check from a US bank. Or perhaps a bank cheque drawn up for US dollars, but we'd have to make sure they don't charge me a fortune to process since it's a foreign bank. I don't know why paypal doesn't work. It does the trick for my clients in Europe, Australia, and India. Try again, and then let me know via email.
Hi anu - Just because there is a transit doesn't mean some thing will happen. Mercury and Venus conjuncted your Asc with Uranus there. This could mark the beginning of a year of revolutionizing your self image, way of being with others, home, way of perceiving, and what you desire. As for the primary significator in the chart, in Vedic it's usually the Sun, or planet of highest degree. However, in Western Astrology it can be any of the planets, usually the ruler of the Asc if strongly placed, a planet in the first, or the final dispositor to the most other planets. However, it can also be a strong planet by house and sign conjunct the Sun, Moon, or ruler of the Asc.
Hi WHR - Actually, yes, you did answer your question! ;-) Lunations that fall in the 11th and 12th houses usually do bring illumination and fulfillment of "the old" in those areas of your map. The first Full Moon in Scorpio will put the focus on your Neptune, while the second will bring a new form of integration of values, or regeneration of "the light" regarding how to use what you have. Of course, generically, two Full Moons in the same sign actually happens more frequently than we would think, and yes, opens as it closes, begins one thing and ends another. The first one is actional, the second one individual-mental or spiritual.
