As I originally wrote about these two articles, these remind us we are Eternals riding the ever-changing waves of Earthly existence, and there’s really no need to sweat the small stuff. We have far more choice than we usually remember about how we can experience what's going on, and whether we're having a good time or not in the midst of the great uncertainty of our times.

Right now and over the next 48 hours, we have an exact Sun square Mars. Adding to the volatility, today's Moon in Capricorn squares the Sun and opposes Mars. This is a very powerful T-square, throwing the void into 10 Libra, a degree of relief. This is a particularly intense transit, marking a culmination in the Sun-Mars cycle.

I was asked to comment on the recent conjunctions at 20 Pisces with Jupiter at 20 Capricorn, Chiron at 20 Aquarius, with the Moon joining the " 20 degree club" at 20 Sag on March 27-28. This was a very productive set of fusions and resonant patterns impacting us in important ways over the next year. Though this article is somewhat technical, we can learn a lot by examining the forces involved.

This is another in the series of how our charts work in terms of our "real world" experiences. If you've ever wondered why people suddenly appear or disappear in your life, today's article may clarify why they did, and what function or lesson they brought.

This is the next in a series of articles where I try to answer some questions posed by readers of this column. In this article we will examine the question "Doesn't astrology imply a lack of 'faith?'"

This is a rerun of a series from a while ago about how Astrology relates to intuition, hunches, belief systems, and other internal reference points. I originally wrote this article as a response to a question a friend posited, that being "Why can't someone just rely on their intuition instead of astrology?" I suppose the short answer is that you can, but just be ready to take the consequences of acting with incomplete knowledge. While true intuition is always accurate, the problem is knowing whether we're operating from intuition or another set of feeling assumptions that may have been formed by less than accurate perceptions.

In a recent post I noted there is a difference between types of karma. This article was originally written to offer ways of navigating the regular karmic storms that blow through our lives, whether those generated by our actions, the actions of another, or seeming "divine events" and "acts of God." There are many kinds of karma, though they all fall into one of two main groups. Knowing these can help explain why things happen as they do.

When the Moon is Void of Course (VOC) it means that it makes no more major aspects to other planets before it leaves a sign. It is a phenomenon of the transiting Moon, and there is a lot of controversy about what its influence is, and whether we should punt our lives and affairs during those times. It is said that nothing happens of note, and so is supposedly a good time for filing tax returns, but a bad time for getting nominated for the presidency.

Every so often I get asked if there is such a thing as bad luck. The simple answer is yes and no. As for bad karma, we all know there is such a thing, but often have a hard time dealing with it, whether our own or another's. Today's article takes a new look at these things that seem to exist, from the angle that we have far more power to overcome and transmute bad luck and bad karma than we usually think.

By now, most readers here are familiar with what I have termed "The Grand Irrationality." As you know, it is associated with the ongoing Neptune septile Pluto, with obsessions, compulsions, and widespread irrationality in the air for many years. Today we take a new look at ways to cope with this energy, and maybe even find ways to surf the waves with style, grace, humor, and adeptness.

I just did a fairly good talk on this Full Moon which I'll try to link here in a few days. Until then, a few observations about this Full Moon, the first one of the new Solar year. This is said to be the first of the "3 High Festivals" indicated by the Full Moons of Aries-Libra, Taurus-Scorpio (aka the Wesak Festival) and Gemini-Sagittarius, aka "The Christ Fest."

In the Vedas, the Holy Books of India written in antiquity, it is said there are 3 gunas, or "tendencies." They are called Rajas, Tamas, and Sattvas, and manifest as modes or forces of operation. In Astrology, we know these forces as Cardinal, Fixed, and Mutable signs, where each plays its part in initiating, stabilizing, or distributing energy. Today we explore how these relate to our charts.

March accents the water sign Pisces, where we take a long look back and harvest, materially and psychologically, the fruits of our last year’s labor. We can deeply feel a wider view of a greater good for all and a more ideal way to live, individually and collectively. It is the sector of our reality where we are required to find the light and power of a broader, more impersonal motive and a deeper compassion for our common humanity. It’s the end of Winter and the beginning of Spring, which kicks off at the Vernal Equinox on March 19, 2008, at 10:49 pm PDT (March 20 in CDT and points east).

In yesterday's article, I inferred that each century has 4 seasons of 25 years each, and that 2012 is merely the midpoint of Winter, with Spring approaching in 2025 when Pluto enters Aquarius. Each century has a unique quality, and today we'll explore some ways we can understand the larger sweep of history as we stand on the cusp of the future.

The first 25 years of this century, aka the "Winter" of the 21st century, is dominated by Pluto in Sagittarius and Capricorn. The midpoint of this larger season is 2012, after which we will approach the 25 years of Spring beginning with Pluto's entry into Aquarius in 2025. Through 2013 we have some very dynamic aspects going on between the Invisible Triad and Saturn, the keeper of time and sculptor of forms.

In Parts 1, 2, and 3 we explored general Spiritual factors of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto bringing forth our Higher Self as we stand individually and collectively at the threshold of a new era. I offered points of particular importance due to major aspect patterns going on from late 2007 through February 2008. Today we continue to explore more about the pressure we're under and within, what it means, and how this is impacting certain signs directly.

All three outer, Transpersonal planets have entered zones they haven't been in for a long time. Having moved through familiar degree spans in late 2007, now Uranus enters the last part of Pisces, Neptune is firmly in the last part of Aquarius, and Pluto is in Capricorn for the first time since 1762. these months we learn about the wise use of power, build our methods of delivering spiritual power, and find that which nourishes us at the end of a larger cycle of manifestation.

As is true each year at this time in history, in the early months of the year the outer planets are in direct motion and entering unknown zones of Spiritual futures indicated by degree spans not experienced in close to a century or more. This three-fold series of Higher Pulses each and together give us glimpses of phases of experience we've never know before. In Spring they each go retrograde at various points in time. By mid-Summer, they are all retrograde, bringing newer, deeper insights and connectedness with the Divine Process.

Jupiter and Saturn translate the energies of the outer Invisible Triad into widespread social influences within which our personalities operate in local conditions, however wide or narrow our field of influence. They show the pulses of inner and outer progress in a larger field of interactive experiences on social, cultural, and global levels. These months they expand and organize the power begun in December and expanded the past two months.

Though not astrological, this is extremely important, and has international implications since it restricts free speech and commerce in Europe. Apparently the US government has shut down "Web sites owned by a British national operating via a Spanish travel agency" aimed at Europeans who want to visit Cuba. The NY Times article goes on to state "these days not even a judge is required for the U.S. government to censor online materials."

By tomorrow morning, Mars will finally leave Gemini and enter Cancer. I'll post more on this influence in the near future, but today I felt a look back is in order, since the recent Mars retrograde between November and January is still impacting what we're going through even now. Yes, just because it's direct doesn't mean the RX influence is over and done! Why? Read on.

I've been pondering some of the choices I've seen people make in the past, and are making in the present. Though I strive to find meaning or coherency in some of those choices, it still seems strange to me that people choose as they do, given the very wide range of possible responses to life, its challenges and promises. While I can write much off to conditioning, there also seems a larger karma is going on that is impelling some of the decisions that are peculiar to me. Not necessarily bad, but peculiar.
