Every so often I get asked if there is such a thing as bad luck. The simple answer is yes and no. As for bad karma, we all know there is such a thing, but often have a hard time dealing with it, whether our own or another's. Today's article takes a new look at these things that seem to exist, from the angle that we have far more power to overcome and transmute bad luck and bad karma than we usually think.

By now, most readers here are familiar with what I have termed "The Grand Irrationality." As you know, it is associated with the ongoing Neptune septile Pluto, with obsessions, compulsions, and widespread irrationality in the air for many years. Today we take a new look at ways to cope with this energy, and maybe even find ways to surf the waves with style, grace, humor, and adeptness.

I just did a fairly good talk on this Full Moon which I'll try to link here in a few days. Until then, a few observations about this Full Moon, the first one of the new Solar year. This is said to be the first of the "3 High Festivals" indicated by the Full Moons of Aries-Libra, Taurus-Scorpio (aka the Wesak Festival) and Gemini-Sagittarius, aka "The Christ Fest."

In the Vedas, the Holy Books of India written in antiquity, it is said there are 3 gunas, or "tendencies." They are called Rajas, Tamas, and Sattvas, and manifest as modes or forces of operation. In Astrology, we know these forces as Cardinal, Fixed, and Mutable signs, where each plays its part in initiating, stabilizing, or distributing energy. Today we explore how these relate to our charts.

March accents the water sign Pisces, where we take a long look back and harvest, materially and psychologically, the fruits of our last year’s labor. We can deeply feel a wider view of a greater good for all and a more ideal way to live, individually and collectively. It is the sector of our reality where we are required to find the light and power of a broader, more impersonal motive and a deeper compassion for our common humanity. It’s the end of Winter and the beginning of Spring, which kicks off at the Vernal Equinox on March 19, 2008, at 10:49 pm PDT (March 20 in CDT and points east).

In yesterday's article, I inferred that each century has 4 seasons of 25 years each, and that 2012 is merely the midpoint of Winter, with Spring approaching in 2025 when Pluto enters Aquarius. Each century has a unique quality, and today we'll explore some ways we can understand the larger sweep of history as we stand on the cusp of the future.

The first 25 years of this century, aka the "Winter" of the 21st century, is dominated by Pluto in Sagittarius and Capricorn. The midpoint of this larger season is 2012, after which we will approach the 25 years of Spring beginning with Pluto's entry into Aquarius in 2025. Through 2013 we have some very dynamic aspects going on between the Invisible Triad and Saturn, the keeper of time and sculptor of forms.

In Parts 1, 2, and 3 we explored general Spiritual factors of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto bringing forth our Higher Self as we stand individually and collectively at the threshold of a new era. I offered points of particular importance due to major aspect patterns going on from late 2007 through February 2008. Today we continue to explore more about the pressure we're under and within, what it means, and how this is impacting certain signs directly.
