Spiritual Astrology in March-April 2008 Pt. 1 - Jupiter Irritating Saturn Stimulating Practical Imagination and Invisible Helpers at the Threshold of A Liberating Ordeal

by Robert Wilkinson

Jupiter and Saturn translate the energies of the outer Invisible Triad into widespread social influences within which our personalities operate in local conditions, however wide or narrow our field of influence. They show the pulses of inner and outer progress in a larger field of interactive experiences on social, cultural, and global levels. These months they expand and organize the power begun in December and expanded the past two months.

Throughout this period, Jupiter and Saturn continue in Earth signs, with Jupiter moving forward toward its stationary retrograde point on May 9 at 23 Capricorn and Saturn retrograding back toward its stationary direct point on May 2-3 at 2 Virgo. Early March challenges us to make leaps of faith to demonstrate a mastery over a form of duality, while mid-March shows the sesquisquare, agitating the friction that can spur us forward anticipating the practical needs of the future and helping us get over preconceptions.

By late April and early May these two powerhouses are in a wide but active biquintile, showing the threshold of unique interactivity that will free us from old chains and give us major rewards for our courage. Many of these will pay dividends in January 2009, so in March and April surrender as needed, conform to the requirements of practical needs, and use March to wait for conditions to catch up to your situation as you rehearse for new things to come after the liberations of late April and May.

Taking a brief look at past as prologue, Jupiter and Saturn made several important biseptiles spanning 2007 when major changes were set into motion globally on every level imaginable. That's why things seemed crazier than usual with a constant "hard edge." to things. Radical decisions had to be made that shaped our long term "destiny" for years to come.

We actually had two qualities of biseptiles between these planets in the last half of 2007. One was from Jupiter in Sag to Saturn in Leo in July-August, and the second was during September-October when Saturn slipped into Virgo. This element shift created a very different energetic manifestation of this irrational, "destiny-producing" aspect which was examined in the article, Astrology of Destiny in August-September 2007 - Jupiter Biseptile Saturn Offering Giant Changes in a Crazy Process. When you're done here, please check out the article to get a sense of what was occurring in 2007. At the bottom of this article you can find links to other articles on how this long term biseptile affected us off and on throughout 2006 and 2007.

Along with Neptune and Pluto anchoring The Grand Irrationality, Jupiter and Saturn indicated some fairly weird times forcing major choices in multiple life areas. Any time the septile series aspects are active, obsessive-compulsive tendencies run high and we collectively and individually confront major forks in the road in many life areas. Choices made in late 2008 will definitely determine our "destiny" for a long time to come. More on the Grand Irrationality later in this article.

To quote from the Jan-Feb 2008 Spiritual Astrology article,

At times it probably seemed to get too weird for words since it was happening on an almost constant basis due to the Moon activating one of the two patterns 14 times a month during those periods. For four solid months everyone (was) on the edge of ...major changes, making character choices and decisions about duty and responsibility that shaped future opportunities and larger understandings. This is "the intersection of fate and free will," and our choices will show as progress or regress.

Between mid-November and mid-December we were blessed with Jupiter tredecile Saturn, and by the Winter Solstice we began a trine that (was) exact all of January... through mid-February. This will stabilize the new futures and truths we confronted throughout 2006-2007’s Jupiter’s squares and biseptiles to Saturn that specialized during the tredeciles.

The tredeciles were times of unique interactivity that manifested as "serendipity" in the areas Jupiter and Saturn transited in our charts.... This brought unique gifts perfect for our circumstances, or our unique or specialized ways of relating the Jupiter to Saturn in our lives found situations perfect for these gifts to manifest.

As you know from other posts, Neptune and Pluto are still in septile, and therefore anchoring The Grand Irrationality. As to why 2007 was somewhat over-the-top energetically, besides being the Year of the Fire Boar, the Grand Irrationality was continually triggered from November 2006 through all of 2007 by transits of various sectors bringing forth this collective weirdness affecting us all.

This year it continues, and is triggered every time a planet or the Moon crosses any of the seven zones of influence. It's thick and heavy right now (March 3-9) due to Mercury and Venus conjunct Neptune septile Pluto, and in the forecast period covered in this article it will be triggered again the first 3 weeks of April as the Sun, Mercury, and then Venus cross the Aries zone, and again in late April and early May when Mars enters the Cancer zone.

This septile-driven configuration is why strange, irrational, obsessive-compulsive energies are boiling to the top in personalities and situations, and there continues to be a hard edge to our lives. Collectively we are at a major fork in the road of human evolution comprised of the almost constant pressure put on everyone each time this aspect series is triggered.

This influence was almost non-stop in 2007. Boosting what began with the Autumn 2006 Eclipses, these transits set off important changes and choices that may not make much sense, but we must make them anyway. We are learning how to greet the forward edge of our future "destiny" by how we're greeting the weirdness of the NOW.

During March-April 2008, the hot zones of The Grand Irrationality are approximately 30 Sagittarius-3 Capricorn, 21-25 Aquarius, 12-16 Aries, 4-8 Gemini, 26-30 Cancer, 17-21 Virgo, and 8-12 Scorpio depending on the exact degrees of Neptune and Pluto.

As noted, of special significance is that any time the Moon transits any of the hot zones the pattern is triggered. In March-April, the first time the Moon either intensifies or adds another point to the Grand Irrationality is when it transits Aquarius occulting/conjuncting Mercury, Venus, and Neptune on March 5-6 and again on April 1-2 and 29-30. This will of course reinforce and bring forth manifestations arising from the February 2008 Solar Eclipse at 18 Aquarius which will unveil many things in years to come showing a widespread need to finish some renewal within a public or collective setup.

Remember that it is extraordinarily important that the Solar Eclipse began the year of the Earth Rat, indicating the coming year departs from prior long cycles since the Rat begins the sequence of Chinese Astrological animals. Due to the position of the Moon’s Nodes, which create the Eclipse effect, we will also have a Solar Eclipse on January 25, 2009, at 11:55 pm PST (January 26 all points east) marking the beginning of the year of the Earth Ox. These next two years will sweep away many assumptions, and clear the way for new collective efforts symbolized by the sign Aquarius.

The next time the Moon activates the Grand Irrationality, triggering forks in the road in our lives, is when it transits the Aries zone on March 8-9 and April 5-6 at the New Moon at 17 Aries, making April particularly important as a time of forks in the road of destiny for each and all of us. The Moon moves through the Gemini zone on March 12-13 and April 9, the Cancer zone on March 16-17 and April 12-13, the Virgo zone March 20-21 and April 16-17, and the Scorpio zone March 24-25 and April 20-21.

It moves through the late Sagittarius-early Capricorn zone on March 1-2, 28-29, and April 24-25. When in this specific zone it conjuncts Pluto at the Galactic Center, giving form to that long lasting major galactic influence, though with more of an Earth energy than the Fire conjunctions of December 2007.

In March and April the pattern is set off by other planets four times. While not many in number, these will be important points in getting ideas, insights, communications, and illuminations about forks in the road and forms of obsessive or compulsive behaviors in self or others. They are March 31-April 4 (Sun in Aries zone), April 8-11 (Mercury in Aries zone), April 15-18 (Venus in Aries zone), and April 30-May 9 (Mars in the Cancer zone). Of note is that early May will be a very important time due to Moon and Mercury occupying the Gemini zone activating 4 points of the seven pointed star pattern.

Early March is important due to Moon, Mercury and Venus conjunctions to Neptune giving ideas, perceptions, resources, and interactions arising from the broader Neptunian influence already vitalized by the Sun in February. This should yield personality fusions and integrations and influence the forks in the road shown wherever Mercury and Venus rule in our charts. Thus early March shows choices and changes in houses ruled by Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, and Libra.

Each time the Grand Irrationality is stimulated by the inner planets, it manifests along its most characteristic Sag-Cap-Aquarius energies. The Aquarius conjunctions add intensity to that anchoring aspect and bring the energies of the personality planets to focus on Neptune while marking a sprouting of the Plutonic seeds set into motion by the December 2007 conjunctions.

Take note of the houses and planets ruled by Mercury and Venus, since they’ve been intensified during the time between January 20 and early March. Thus highly energetic times are March 4-5 (Moon intensifying Mercury and Venus conjunct Neptune), April 9 (Moon adding a 4th point from Gemini), and April 16-17 (Moon adding a 4th point from Virgo).

Of course, all during the first 3 weeks of April if a planet isn't in the Aries zone, the Moon is often filling in another point during the in-between days, so it's more or less a constant influence. The times when the Asc moves through the 7 zones during these time spans should prove most important!

As previously noted, since the Sun, Mercury, and Venus are involved, it will trigger changes in the houses ruled by these planets, as well as any life areas where we have planets in those hot zones. The houses they occupy as well as rule will be most directly affected. By staying on top of where these zones are triggered by outer events symbolized by the transiting planets, we are given a heads up on what’s coming.

During transits to any of the 7 zones of influence, expect shifts, changes, forks in the road, irrational or compulsive behavior in self or others, and important times of decision. Adding to the intensity of our times are the other septile configurations that come and go, some more quickly than others.

We had two such major configurations occurring for much of 2007 during the previously mentioned Jupiter biseptile Saturn, as well as the times when Saturn was triseptile Uranus in Feb-March and mid-June through mid-July. As I mentioned earlier, it was almost nonstop with the Moon triggering big weirdness and shifts 7 times each month. No wonder so many heavy decisions and events came down last year!

All septile series aspects indicate an on-going weirdness, strange choices, crucial decisions, and general edginess and the sense that forces beyond our control are at work. Not necessarily bad, as long as we remember that we may not be able to reason our way through what's happening and the energy doesn't get too crazy or destructive.

This aspect set moves us to make choices that affect our potential "higher destiny." The days mentioned above are the times when the generic weirdness is triggered, and bring decisions that may not make much sense but have to be made anyway.

In Part 2 we will discuss Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto's influences as they enter Unknown Zones. Parts 3 and 4 we'll discuss how the outer Triad are impacting past and present eclipses, and in Part 5 we'll examine how this impacts the distant future. To make it easy, here's:

Spiritual Astrology in March-April 2008 affecting Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces - Part 4

(As I promised earlier, here's more on the Jupiter biseptile Saturn we all dealt with over 22 months in 2006-2007)

To recap what I've previously written about this, In our personal lives the process was directly related in bringing forth our higher truth of Being. The first point of choice and change was early 2006 and the second period from mid-December 2006 through early January 2007. I originally noted this aspect in the March-April 2006 Spiritual Astrology article, mainly in terms of when it would be activated. I addressed the second biseptile, along with the inner planets also making Sag biseptiles to Saturn with Jupiter, in this article.

These were times when all of us confronted major forks in the road of our destinies, whether we noticed it or not. These choices continue to shape our personalities toward a future on the way like an express train continuing over the next few months.

This put our Sag and Pisces energies at a point of decision and change, an "intersection of fate and free will" relative to our Capricorn and Aquarius planets and houses. Obviously this affects at least a third of our reality, and as these 4 signs constitute the "Harvest sector" of the zodiac, no doubt our "harvests" have been and will be greatly affected by our choices around vision and duty.

The last of the three Jupiter biseptile Saturn periods happened between mid-July and mid-November 2007. The edges of our larger social change originated February 2006 with Jupiter in mid-Scorpio and Saturn in early Leo, then moved back into range mid-December 2006 through early January 2007 with Jupiter in early Sag and Saturn in late Leo.

The next biseptile was Jupiter direct in July-August from mid-Sag to late Leo, with the final biseptile from Jupiter in mid-Sag to Saturn in early Virgo from September through early November. Advanced astrologers should take note of the decan and degree placements as well as other planetary aspects to each of these to get greater insight into how the Jupiter-Saturn effects worked out on every level.

Each biseptile was in two different signs, as well as two decans in one sign. In one way to apply this, on a national level Saturn in Virgo will manifest differently than Saturn in Leo, as will national sectors ruled by Jupiter. Education, imagination, vision, and law have hit a turning point relative to the power structure and "leadership" sectors of our world.

If nothing else, people everywhere who have endured the "child leaders" of our past (Saturn in Leo) are now recognizing the necessity for greater practical accountability and workable solutions to practical problems. (Saturn in Virgo). There are many other applications, so ask your imagination to show you ways to view this "turning point at Eternity Boulevard."

I'm feeling this call to absolute revelation of personal truth in my art. There still this blockage I feel in mainlining the complete honesty of who I am and where I've been. I'm doing this short astrological monologue about the current trends leading from now to 2012 and beyond and Sunday and I feel this conflict between just being myself and the somewhat airy-fairy, yet well intentioned vibe of the event. When will the veil lift and differences been seen, accepted, and validated as mere facets of Divinity's diversity and complexity, there is much work to be done before the veil lifts yet like the light action revelation can come in the instance of grandeur.

"eternity boulevard" - nice. :)

Hi Robert.

After a few days, I'm able to speak from self-centered spiritual basis and consciousness.
My -I thought- soul-mate (woman) left me in a totally irrational way. She felt the need to "break all bounds" in a totally irrational way.
She's a Natal first degress of Capricorn big conjunction, and Pluto, as well as Jupiter, are there, opposing her conjunction Moon/Saturn in Cancer in X as well as encoraging her IV Sun, Mercury, Venus.
I tried to explain to her in another words...but...it was impossible to reach to reasonable conclussions.
I think this opposition between Cancer-Capricorn natally for degrees plus Mars opposing nearly, plus Pluto, plus Jupiter...plus wathever I can see...is leading her to a totally mental revolution.
She said me it's all over and finished suddenly with me.
How can I integrate this lose?. We were together for 5 years...and I'm totally out-side her game!.

A really shocked by Grand Irrationality one!.

Hi Damien - By all means, just be yourself. Just make sure it's the best self to be. I don't think what's ahead is "airy fairy" since there is too much suffering in the world directly related to what is and is coming. Perhaps each veil is lifted each day we remember to strive for truth, goodness, and beauty?

Hi Jilly - It's a phrase I've used for years. I believe it accurately describes "here and now," wherever and whenever they are.

Hi Henry - Sorry you got blackjacked. I'm sure she was/is a Soul mate, since I'm sure she awakened a greater Love within you. I know of quite a few who are breaking boundaries in irrational ways, and it's not an easy thing to stand up to, or surrender to. This is just the first of many big changes she'll go through, as she in fact has entered a long term revolution. Reason is not strong enough to override desires, and non-reason is big in the air. You can integrate it by examining how the changes have unfolded the past several years, noting the signals you missed. You'll need to grieve the loss for a while, so move through the deep feelings while monitoring your heart. Take care of yourself, release the echoes to experience the emptiness that can attract realization, and remember that Nature, abhorring a vacuum, will no doubt send another to you in the right way and time, or you will find yourself attracted to another. Just make sure to make your list of desirable traits in your next partner, and get clear about what undesirable traits you don't want.

i too feel a great deal of wierdness. I havebeen marriage minded ever since dating my boyfriend of 3 years. suddenly....right at teh eclipse time in feb 2008, i am totally different in my views on my life and what i want. i thought i wanted stability and all that my boyfriend is to me, but now i am running amok, and completely unlike my normal self. it is shocking to me. and all others around me. learning of the sept 2006 eclipse having soemthing to do wtih this is helpful, as in sept 06, my boyfreind dumped me for 6 month period. i am not as experinced in reading about these astrological things, but i am seeing that there could be something related to it all in my situation.

Hi liisa - Well, we all go through changes, some more abrupt than others. The last eclipse is helping us unveil something and reorient ourselves toward a greater freedom and vision of greater effectiveness within the larger field. And of course, we are still living with on-going correlations of prior eclipses from 2006 and 2007. Hang in there, go with the changes, and take a broader view of your process of evolving from who you used to be to who you are now. You'll see patterns of growing into your autonomy.

Hi Robert,

I’ve been hearing and also coming across many folks whose existing health conditions have worsened or they are facing new health concerns. Is this the "Grand Irrationality" or does the planets influences still depend on the houses and aspects? It’s peculiar to me that suddenly the blustering winds of change are whipping folk’s physical condition. Do we sum this up to the Grand Irrationality?

Hi 81 - The Grand Irrationality is a generic irrational condition affecting the entire world. Health conditions are a matter of 1st and 6th house, as well as their rulers. There are also the matter of "contrails," which you may need to research.

Hi Robert ,I have also noticed people becoming sick lately. Most of them have chiron in Pisces opposing either Saturn or Pluto or both. One lady I know doesn't normally get ill.Loaded Pisces with Chiron opp her Uranus/Pluto conj 6th. In her case 6th house yet is it that emotional chiron pisces and the fact Virgo is health instigating this? Maybe those unaware of Chiron Pisces are manifesting physically.(Speaking of that generational influence here) Just curious.Thanking you Aum Shanti Felita

Hi Felita - Well, I haven't correlated Chiron's cycles with epidemics, but I suppose there could be associations. Maybe Saturn in Virgo is also helping us all get real about our health.

Hi Robert,

you have given a very nice information regarding the planets and the zodiac signs.....

Hi "Love Horoscope" - I deleted the link to your "name" since it was a plug for a site not cleared with me first. Please re-read the guidelines for commenting clearly posted on the upper right.

Well, it is quite interesting and enthusiastic to know about Global Astrology. The article was quite good with all the logics.

Hi zodiac aquarius - Since your IP is the same as "Love Horoscope" above, this is Strike 2. If you leave another "comment" like the last two, I'm banning you from commenting. You really need to contact me by email if you want to leave links.
