Following up on yesterday's article on the general meaning and function of the "Inferior conjunction" between the Sun and Mercury, today we explore the specifics of the Gemini Inferior conjunction of June 7, 2008.
Though seemingly an obscure part of Astrology, in fact the Inferior and Superior Conjunctions between the Sun and Mercury mark very important points in how our life evolves relative to how our minds are either racing forward or backward evaluating our experiences.
Over the years many have asked me what Mercury retrograde is good for. We know it's supposedly NOT a good time to sign contracts, make purchases of electronics or major moves or decisions, and we are supposed to hang out with the energies, seeing that things may not be as they appear, and so on. That said, there is much that a Mercury retrograde period is good for, such as traveling, research, and other important things.
In part two we explore more about this phenomenon that occurs three weeks at a time three times a year. At the end of this article I have included a table so you can find which house(s) this May-June 2008 Mercury retrograde period falls in relative to your Sun or rising sign. Then you can consult my article How Does Mercury Retrograde Affect Us In The Different Houses? to find how this transit will affect you personally as a result of Mercury retrograding through the houses in your chart.
To continue the party one more day, here are two of my favorite Bob Dylan creations, both beautiful love songs in their unique way. I've included links to the original audio album tracks on BobDylan.com so that you can hear some of each song as it was originally performed.
May 24th marks the birthday of a force majure across generations and a true American original. He just won a Pulitzer Prize, making him the first rock star ever to achieve such a thing. As I wrote last year, "His work is vast, awesome, majestic, and compelling, We haven't known an American poet who embodied such electricity since Walt Whitman... Some of your offerings still have the power to blow the illusion to the far side of Pluto." Definitely more below the fold.
Yes, it's THAT time again! Three times each year, Mercury goes retrograde, throwing many people and circumstances into a whirlwind of over, under, sideways and down. But does it? Just what is Mercury retrograde, and how will this one affect us?
Better late than never! I realized the Sun is about to enter Gemini, and I never gave you this year's list of distinguished Taurus traits and people. So to that end, here's this year's birthday celebration shoutout to the tribe of Taurus.
Yes, this is an amazing Cosmic moment in time! Due to the degrees where last month's and this month's Full Moon falls, we have been blessed to have TWO Wesak Festivals this year. Traditionally the Wesak Festival is considered the Full Moon of May since it celebrates the birth and enlightenment of the Buddha, Himself a Sun in Taurus and Moon in Scorpio. However, for the first and last time in many years, we're having two Full Moons, one in April and one in May, triggering the first and last degrees of those signs.
In Parts 1, 2, and 3 we explored general Spiritual factors of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto bringing forth our Higher Self as we stand individually and collectively at the threshold of a new era. I offered points of particular importance due to major aspect patterns going on in 2007 through now. Today we continue to explore more about the pressure we're under and within, what it means, and how this is impacting certain signs directly.
This isn't astrological, but it is meta-physical. There's a movement afoot to bring down humanity's carbon glut that warms our atmosphere every day, melting ice all over the planet, portending things no one really wants to contemplate. NASA's leading climatologist has definitely stated ""if humanity wishes to preserve a planet similar to that on which civilization developed and to which life on earth is adapted, paleoclimate evidence and ongoing climate change suggest that CO2 will need to be reduced from its current 385 ppm to at most 350 ppm." If you care about life on Earth in the near future, read on.
All three outer Transpersonal planets now occupy zones they haven't been in for a long time. Having moved through familiar degree spans in late 2007, Uranus is now in the last decan of Pisces, Neptune is firmly in the last part of Aquarius, and Pluto is in Capricorn for the first time since 1762. These months we're asserting our authority and receiving blessings, being more conscious in choosing our behaviors, and codifying new values so we can greet a new life order.
