Yes, I know the current incarnation began July 6, 1935, but he is an unbroken consciousness aware of his ongoing existence and has been for quite a few centuries! As I wrote last year, "This Being is truly one of the most benign and enlightened consciousnesses ever to walk this Earth, and having had the privilege of attending numerous talks with Him, I am always in awe of his gentle sense of humor, his generosity of Spirit, and his profound wisdom."
This most remarkable man for the Ages was enthroned on February 22, 1940 in Lhasa, and he was forced to deal with Communist Chinese brutality from a very young age. In the article linked below from last year you'll find out more about this kind and playful gentle man, Nobel Laureate and all around good guy.
Happy Birthday Tenzin Gyatso! May you outlast and outlive the rule of China over Tibet, may you ultimately see the Tibetan culture restored, and may you return to the Land of Snows empowered by your decades in exile.
A few good quotes:
"War is legalized murder."
"If you can, help others; if you cannot do that, at least do not harm them."
"It is very important to generate a good attitude, a good heart, as much as possible. From this, happiness in both the short term and the long term for both yourself and others will come."
"My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness. "
"Old friends pass away, new friends appear. It is just like the days. An old day passes, a new day arrives. The important thing is to make it meaningful: a meaningful friend - or a meaningful day."
"Today, more than ever before, life must be characterized by a sense of Universal responsibility, not only nation to nation and human to human, but also human to other forms of life."
"As human beings we all want to be happy and free from misery… we have learned that the key to happiness is inner peace. The greatest obstacles to inner peace are disturbing emotions such as anger, attachment, fear and suspicion, while love and compassion and a sense of universal responsibility are the sources of peace and happiness."

oh yes ! happy birthday to the dalai lama. i wonder why i was under the impression that he is a saggitarius.
Robert, here is a question for you ? i have noted on several occasions that the horoscopes being casted are a week late i.e. what they bring to light is something which has happened in the week past. can you shed some light on this phenomenon ? there could be several view points one being that what may not be visible to the naked eye may have already transpired or (and this is really stark) what i feel say this week may be a precursor to the same playing out in a much stronger manner in the following week, you know what i mean ?
it will be great to hear your take on this.
good cheer !

Well, always in search for the truth, do you think that Dalai Lama is a real spiritual referent beyond exotic assumptions?.
Aren't there political factors?.
Please understand me, the quest for truth leaves no topics for me.
But I simply ask about it.

I love this! My brother is married to a Tibetan refuge, she recently marched all day in peaceful protest during the Olympic Track & Field Trials in Oregon. While fully supporting the athletes, and the Olympics, she wants the world to be mindful of China's role in others' oppression.
Tonight I am going to the documentary, "Dalai Lama Renaissance," can't wait!

keen to know about my future

Hi nareshavaduta - Aren't we all? ;-) This is not fortune telling. Your future is determined by your choices, how you act, react or don't act in the face of circumstances. Times of challenge and Self-realization can be known, but your future is to a large degree in your own hands. The key is knowing the best potential in your natal birth chart.
