For thousands of years, a Solar or Lunar Eclipse has been a signal of major change, often dreaded by those who fall under their shadows. Today we explore these phenomena known as Eclipses.

Though many people have never heard of singer, songwriter, and guitarist Bob Welch, millions have heard his instantly identifiable haunting, melodic songs. Whether ballads or rockers, this is the guitar slinger who fronted Fleetwood Mac in the years between the original 60s neo-psychedelic blues group founded by Peter Green and the mega-hit making machine of the mid-70s featuring Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham. Today I have a few excellent videos of this extraordinary talent.

There is a lot of fear and trepidation connected to Eclipses, an unfortunate leftover from previous centuries when Eclipses were believed to augur the fall of empires, dynasties, and powerful people anywhere the Eclipse shadow fell. While Eclipses do tend to shut down some elements in the area of life (house) in which they fall, this is not necessarily a bad thing, since we must bring some things to an end if we are to embrace newer, better ways of doing our Being. While the future effects of an Eclipse may be powerful, in that they last over a long period, they are not necessarily bad.

The coming Solar Eclipse will have a very significant impact on us all. Eclipses shut things down, taking away elements of our lives no longer "true" for us. Leo is the sign of personal love, creativity, self dramatization, and heart-felt pleasures. Some form of these will be shut down, with the void sure to attract new forms of expressing this energy. Wherever this eclipse falls in our charts is where we can expect long term endings, but also relief, transfiguration, and the joy of knowing we've made it through the night.

Today we take a brief look at the larger factors happening right now. The title shows the higher, "spiritual" requirements of the moment, which all in all should have shown us where our best interests are, both present and future. Whatever ordeal we've all recently experiences, whether large or small, has shown us the starch in our spines and the elements of character which will provide the basis for what will stabilize with clarity in September.

A dear friend of the site just lost her 10 year old boy to kidney failure. It happened breathtakingly fast, and gives pause for reflection on how fleeting and precious are our moments here on Earth with our loved ones. As one who knows the profound sorrow of losing one as close to my heart as my own breath, I thought that instead of posting an article on Astrology today we could revisit some things I've written about grief, sorrow, and how to heal the pain of losing a loved one.

As most of you know, I usually don't do political reporting here since it often creates discussions that skew in strident directions that disrupt what I'm creating here. However, these nuggets from TruthOut must be read by anyone who values a democratic method of electing governments. A new book titled "Loser Take Call" pulls down the veil of how the past 4 US national elections were stolen and We The People were defrauded by our election process manipulated by tyrants intent on seizing power illegally.

Continuing the theme of Part 3 of this series, all three outer Transpersonal planets are now retrograding through zones they haven't been in for a long time. Having moved through familiar degree spans in late 2007, Uranus now occupies the last decan of Pisces, Neptune in the last part of Aquarius, and Pluto is back in Sagittarius for the last time in the next 240 years. These months we're seeing the problems with the wrong use of force, can choose our responses rather than react reflexively, and find previously unknown powers within ourselves.

This video is one of the most innovative ideas I've ever seen, and truly gives hope that in a world gone mad with violence and ego pomposity, we can still dance. And I do believe we ALL want to dance. Thanks, Matt. It's one of the most moving things I've ever seen. Below the fold, an amazing video that truly unifies our world (and may even bring you a smile!)
