Continuing the theme of Part 3 of this series, all three outer Transpersonal planets are now retrograding through zones they haven't been in for a long time. Having moved through familiar degree spans in late 2007, Uranus now occupies the last decan of Pisces, Neptune in the last part of Aquarius, and Pluto is back in Sagittarius for the last time in the next 240 years. These months we're seeing the problems with the wrong use of force, can choose our responses rather than react reflexively, and find previously unknown powers within ourselves.
The upshot to all this is that we're getting a look back at elements of our past preparing for a new reality that will begin this September. At that point both Jupiter and Pluto go direct in motion, moving back toward its ingress into Capricorn even as Neptune and Uranus prepare to go direct in November. By Jan 2009 Pluto will again enter an unknown zone with Uranus and Neptune following into their unknown zones a few weeks later.
Since March 2008 we learned about the wise use of power, building our methods of delivering spiritual skills, and found that which nourishes us at the end of a larger cycle of manifestation. Now we are reviewing what happened last year and early this year, and are still getting a new look at the karmic returns related to what we did or didn't learn the first half of 2008.
As noted, Pluto is now back in Sagittarius. This period is one last fiery look through by the spiritual ruler of Aries and Scorpio through the Sag lens we've been peering through for over a decade. We are now given a last look back as Pluto camps out on the Galactic Center, sending seeds of "black hole consciousness" to Earth and shaking things up for about 250 years to come. You can find more about Pluto conjunct the Galactic Center through a link in part 1 of this Spiritual Astrology series.
Pluto will finally leave Sagittarius in late November 2008. As noted a couple of months ago, this Summer offers us one last experience of "the Pillar of Cosmic Fire" in the sign of Sag, helping us "get in shape," recognize how we have been blessed to enter a new world of experience, and claim our Higher Power in more organized and effective forms. We're now definitely moving between radically different zones of spiritual influence, and can use the skills learned in 2007 as Spiritual tools in the months to come.
As I wrote in the January-February 2008 Spiritual Astrology article:
In 2007 we "entered the Sanctuary" after which we "took a walk with our wisdom" and were invested with a certain power that we had to practice under difficult conditions to focus skill and valor. We got "rewards from Spirit" by inculcating feelings of appreciation and gratitude during the last half of 2007 while getting in shape and cultivating our "Spiritual vehicle." This prepared us to deliver our version of a higher power in 2008. Welcome to the "jumpstart" of that form of dynamic self-expression during this forecast period.
Through most of this period, Uranus continues to semi-sextile Neptune, moving back toward a binovile with Pluto in the months to come. As you know from Part 1 of this series, Neptune and Pluto continue to anchor The Grand Irrationality, keeping up the pressure on everyone to make some fairly strange choices and changes within the larger obsessive-compulsive irrationality pandemic on our planet.
We are now in a time when the inner planets have emerged from their conjunctions between Dec 2007 through March 2008 with Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. These conjunctions, which occur every year between those months, open new yearly cycles in terms of the Transpersonal dimension of existence.
As the Sun, Mercury, and Venus all move through Gemini, Leo, and Virgo during July and August, they move from waxing aspects through oppositions into waning aspect to the outer planets in July and August. This indicates that what's been building the first half of 2008 is breaking the surface and beginning to move toward culmination last half of 2008.
We can use this time of awarenesses and interactive aspects to sort out what we wish to culminate in the Autumn, while leaving other things dormant or eliminate them altogether. Especially as Mars, Venus, and Mercury move through late Virgo, they bring the old Pluto material to culmination, eliminate and/or regenerate Neptunian material, and repotentialize Uranian material.
Those of you with a knowledge of Astrology and aspects should take note. You can apply the general principles I've just offered analyzing "phase relationships" of aspects to any study of interactive cycles between planets.
Tremendous changes were kicked into gear last December as a result of transits from Sun, Mercury, and Venus merging with Jupiter conjunct Pluto and septile Neptune. This will have extreme importance in 2009 when Jupiter conjuncts Neptune and septiles Pluto, marking another major "fork in the road of destiny" for the entire world.
I'll certainly be composing several articles exploring the meaning of this important global event for all signs in a few months. A brief look shows we'll get a first look at what's coming in early January, another clear light in mid-February, a very clear set of signals as prelude of this major event in early March, and by May-June we're in the thick of it. So whatever was kicked into motion by the Jupiter conjunct Pluto in December 2007 will take a dramatic turn by Spring 2009.
As noted in prior Spiritual Astrology articles, another important larger factor of significance in the current "changing of the guard" during this 2007-2008 period involved the Moon's Nodes leaving Pisces-Virgo and entering Aquarius-Leo in mid-December 2007. To refresh your memory,
This moved the emphasis away from Saturn conjunct the South Node in Virgo and the seemingly endless grind and need to take care of a thousand details into more visionary developments. In fact, there were major transfigurations in many lives between mid-December 2007 and mid-January 2008 which were vitalized and given significant form between mid-February and mid-March.This Nodal sign shift also turned the emphasis from Uranus and North Node in Pisces to Neptune conjunct North Node in Aquarius. This is important since it set up the Solar Eclipse in February with Pluto at 1 degree Capricorn, promising the emergence of new power figures on the world stage, and new authority to assert ourselves in our world.
Due to 2 Solar Eclipses in the past 16 months square Pluto (along with 4 Lunar Eclipses) and the most recent Solar Eclipse configured with Neptune, we're still within a larger future oriented tide of evolution that is closing life chapters and opening new ones where we can become inspired, enjoy ourselves more, and light up our world in ways everyone can appreciate. The most recent Solar Eclipse will be extraordinarily dynamic in propelling us into our future in a roundabout way, thanks to 5 planets in Aquarius, including Mercury retrograde and Chiron, all trine Mars.
It may be useful here to reconsider some factors about the February 2008 Solar Eclipse. First, remember that all Eclipses shut old things down creating space for new things to appear, so expect new rhythms of activity based on a broader vision of things past and future in years to come. Mercury RX is a "back to the future" type of energy, and shows we'll have to resurrect old forms of protection as a larger unveiling process occurs.
The Aquarius Solar Eclipse will help us focus on what we care for and about, and be more active in demonstrating that. Over the next several years we will learn to see through passing phenomena and glimpse wisdom in the passages. The line of greatest development is in working with foresight, preparing for things to come, having more faith that Spirit will deliver, or protect, or guide us into a state where we can demonstrate appreciation, gratitude, and compassion. Though there was a semisquare from the Aquarius stellium to Pluto, the lunation was favorable to all the other planets except Saturn, which received no aspects from the planets in Aquarius.
Saturn, as the worldly ruler of the Eclipse, will prove very important, as will Uranus, the Spiritual ruler of the Eclipse. These two were in wide opposition, showing a polarization between the two energies that will yield realizations as well as polarizations. Saturn was and is retrograde, thus still receding from its coming opposition with Uranus in Pisces beginning in August 2008. This is giving us all a reprieve for a few months from this polarizing energy between the forces of service and deception on a global level, and between the progressive dreamers and those who would enslave the future in an avalanche of details, worries, and criticisms.
We can use Saturn to express the Uranus in Pisces energies of rebirth within a collective setup, but will have to find a practical use for the times where we must wait wisely. Overall, it seems that we can make tremendous material progress as a result of this eclipse. On a final note, the Eclipse Venus was the degree of January's New Moon, so we should have captured pleasing forms of protection and power over the past few weeks, as well as in years to come.
You can find more about expectable future effects of the eclipse by going to this post.
Jupiter's transit through the Eclipse zone next year will unleash major expansions and openings globally, as well as things ending in a BIG way. And of course, that's also what I'll be writing about in a few weeks.
