We've actually all been dealing with the precursory signs of this energy since Aug 2007 when Virgo activated in opposition to the ongoing subtle long wave revolutionary energies of Uranus in Pisces. Virgo brings forth practical useful forms in the 4 worlds of consciousness across the 3 dimensions of human experience, while Pisces feels the wholeness of the entire cycle of experience ending within a larger sea of Absolute Consciousness. In this opposition can be found the mystery of the Passage and how to preside over transitions by mastering and demonstrating the evolved elements of our inner Priest, Priestess, Healer and Shaman.
Learning the full implications of dealing with this one inner polarity could fill a book, as does any thorough exploration of any human archetype. This article won't explore more than the basics, which are considerable in their implications for our world and humanity.
In this opposition we'll learn what works, what doesn't, and see practical forms of our Divine Individualizer. We'll deal with opposing energies that are two expressions of One Force through the eternal power dance between Uranus and Saturn, "father" and "son," Will juxtaposed with Time, Spirit with "the Great Work."
The pulse of Uranus throughout our life shows us the Higher Law of our Being, and brings forms of freedom and creative inspiration wherever it touches our lives. Saturn's pulse is that of Dharma, our "true functioning" to perfect our Human-ness into our Divine Potential, however that may manifest. This opposition will free us from old duties and obsolete limitations and fears, while crystalizing a form of our Divine Individuality and/or Spiritual Higher Law in our lives.
It will bring revolutionary earthquakes that will shatter structures that have no potential, as well as put into place new molds for the evolved states of consciousness and views of human reality already showing themselves on Earth. These future forms in the making are why the future actually looks very good in many ways, even though the short term path looks very unstable and perilous to many. Here it's useful to remember that flexibility is a virtue in an Age in Transition.
This dance will show through Virgo-Pisces forms and experiences, one of the 6 polarities that are the twelve signs of human experience. All polarities involve opposing forces, and we can measure the health of how a sign is functioning in our chart by checking out how well we are expressing the virtues of the opposite sign.
All signs exteriorize through its opposing sign. While often difficult, oppositions are actually the best aspect for bringing forth higher "Spiritual" realizations, since we are in fact forced to resolve the dilemma of "the pairs of opposites," as it is termed by the Arcane School.
The opposition between any Earth sign and Water sign is to focus on using any other Earth or Water sign to generate the understanding and productivity of the sextile and trine to that opposition. (Yes, it also works the same way with any Fire opposition Air polarity.) Capricorn is one of the Earth signs, the zone where the possible becomes actual in the realm of personal command. Capricorn is where we crystalize our personal power function in the social realm as we begin to harvest the meaning of the entire cycle that preceded that phase.
At this time, we can use the power of what we've learned from Jupiter in Capricorn trine Saturn since December 2007 to get a handle on the Saturn opposition Uranus. Jupiter has made many different aspects to both Saturn and Uranus throughout the year, first while direct in motion from Jan to May, then retrograde from May to September, and now direct again, in constant trine to Saturn through the end of 2008.
So we've had many opportunities to become organized, disciplined, methodical, determined, and persevering in doing our duty and fulfilling whatever training "obligation" we owe ourselves during the time of Jupiter in Capricorn. And it's easy to understand with the Earth trine between Jupiter and Saturn, so the Saturn function should be fairly clear to each of us.
There is, however, another powerful configuration occurring that involves the extraordinarily productive Jupiter sextile Uranus also occurring. As I related some months ago, anyone with a planet or sensitive point between 16 through 25 degrees of Leo has experienced a Yod, or Finger of God, on that planet at times in this year due to the Jupiter sextile Uranus in that span earlier in 2008. This has created many "expansion through sacrifice" types of experiences and interactions squeezing us out of old magnetisms and clearing our focus for the immediate future.
Jupiter's stationary direct point being one of radical self-transcendence and exactly trine Saturn will open opportunities to mobilize ourselves to substantiate forms of "gain" on material, emotional, mental, and Spiritual levels of life. This is a "go for it" type of aspect, with each step secured becoming the stepping stone to the next secured material form. But there will be sacrifices.
By November 2008 many things will be very clear magnetically, even though a second potential Yod is in major force through the end of 2008. Besides Jupiter and Uranus stimulating 17-22 Leo, Saturn will quincunx Neptune opening 17-23 Aries and Cancer as zones of productive activity. This makes mid to late Cancer exceptionally important, since it's the void of the sextile and trine made by Jupiter and the sextile to Saturn. It will generate positive lessons and opportunities, even if those lead us to have to sacrifice some Aquarian parts of our life to make room for newer forms.
This has major implications for what will expand when Jupiter moves through Aquarius and makes its quincunx aspects to Saturn, giving us new lessons, openings, and closings through the adjustments and sacrifices indicated by the quincunx aspect. To anticipate a question, Of course a sacrifice involves more than just one object. Any single person or event is merely one of many forms around that lesson.
Through it all, reflect on what has been or is being squeezed out of your hologram and how you are achieving focus. The value of sacrifice is that it eliminates that which is no longer "true" for us, regardless of what we think or feel about that. Through seeing what is conditionally "true" for us, as well as the wisdom we distill from that experience, we can find meaning around our process of Self-realization.
Through Jupiter in Capricorn, we're finding opportunities to express our authorship wherever our duty points us. This is helping all to feel differently about the immediacy of our experience, however we feel that. As we learn to find the right points of view of the opposing forces we move through, we can understand the inner and outer dilemmas and dualities from more effective approaches.
The gift of repositioning our view is it offers different angles of illuminating a given person, experience, or lesson. Once you illuminate the object from multiple angles of lighting, the shadows are dispelled. Jupiter is offering some clear opportunities in 2008 that we'll be able to use effectively in the future for as long as this opposition lasts.
On a final note, what we learn of Uranus and how to live its Higher Law in the near future determines much of what will come forth for us personally when Jupiter moves through Pisces and conjuncts Uranus opposed to Saturn in April, May, and June 2010. This triggers the huge disruptions affecting the entire world. How we've positioned ourselves in 2008 and 2009 in terms of practical skills and initiatives, as well as our sense of higher group purpose, will entirely determine our experiences in the transition zone of 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013.

Hi, Robert great article and it makes me think about alot of stuff. There is so much that pertains to my life at the moment. I also had the opportunity to listen to you speak on the radio show Awakenings. It was really nice to hear your voice and I agree with quite a bit of what you say. Thanks again for sharing your wisdom.

Hi Ace - Glad to hear from you. I figure connectivity is spotty in your part of the world. Did you try to connect with me via a group site about three weeks ago? (No hurry on the answer but just want to know.....)
Hi Micheline - Glad you got to check in at Awakenings. It's definitely leading to other things. Will definitely do more audio posting here in 2009!

Hello Robert,
I listened to your rapid fire radio interview. I appreciate your elegant encouragement to those of us being squeezed by these grand forces.
Personally, I have looked to my wounds of the past in order find my past motives, hoping that by healing and changing my motives, I will be better able to call in a more fortuitous future.
My own experience now, is that grief often feels like fear...we all know one cannot create a glorious future with fear. The self absorption of grief is numbing and painfully without movement.
So my question, what antidotes may I look for, to keep me involved in the practical world of living, while experiencing multiple losses such as my 18yr marriage, blame for the lack of professional success, theft of my contributions and property, exile and no legal framework to take the struggle, as all promises were on spirit level. I am shaken but hopeful.
Bless the kindness in you,

Hi all,
I got to say I really like this post ..it brings up certain aspects I was wondering about from past things you've written Robert.
I especially feel ( as many already are saying in this stream ) ...the ...
"Through it all, reflect on what has been or is being squeezed out of your hologram and how you are achieving focus. The value of sacrifice is that it eliminates that which is no longer "true" for us, regardless of what we think or feel about that. Through seeing what is conditionally "true" for us, as well as the wisdom we distill from that experience, we can find meaning around our process of Self-realization."
I think everyone is making all kinds of sacrifices ...either one's they choose or one's that are being forced upon them. And I deeply feel the immediacy of claiming my own person and personal experiences over that of the negative ' others ' that used to be in my life. I devote my energies far more productively now towards things that are far more healthy for myself and my family. These times have opened up alot of room in myself and in my life.
It wasn't until certain debris/places/people in my life was removed, forced out and sacrificed that newer and more positive things were able to come into
my life and I was able to make room for them and narrow my focus in a much more productive fashion.
You've said " As we learn to find the right points of view of the opposing forces we move through, we can understand the inner and outer dilemmas and dualities from more effective approaches."
I find that my personal views of the past few years
and the ' escape from a very narrow destiny '... has rang out LOUD and clear and my views have morphed to
a much healthier place. Virgo energies in opposition of Piscean energies ... the practical earth in opposition of the morphious open seas of collective conciousness. Robert your lessons on how to polarize
oppositional energies have been a life saver for me through my own times of woe and times of craziness ...
With such strong Pisces energy hinging my intercepted signs ... embracing Virgo/Earth/Practical/Vesta excercises have been amazing.
Here's to healing, letting go, moving on, forgiving the foolish, ignorant and the blind ( for they cannot be helped as they are trapped in useless cycles and saturn stuff from the past and we should not wish them harm ) so we are each no longer bound by anything from the past in our hearts.
I hope you write an article before December on the upcoming eclipse in January 2009 ... for that eclipse sets off my prenatal eclipse return ... any thoughts on such an event ??
Namaste,
Melody

Hi Robert,
You wrote: "Saturn will quincunx Neptune opening 17-23 Aries and Cancer as zones of productive activity. "
Does that mean we'll feel the pinch alternating from 17-23 Saturn in Virgo and 17-23 Neptune/Chiron in Aquarius? where the tip of those Yods will be, depending on what planet will be transiting Aries and Cancer?
Blessings to you :)

Hi Inanna - By learning from our experiences, we come to know things about ourselves and our reality, some of which we can change, some of which we accept as a lesson and by learning that lesson, leave it behind. By our wound we know our authenticity, since that experience is part of our life mystery. Sometimes grief is numbing, but eventually it fades when it's been accepted in its sacred function.
Fear is useless in finding our higher Truth of Being, since it obscures and distracts from the solution. There are many articles in the archives that can help you with the question about antidotes. This is an issue about examining your "bad luck/bad karma" so that you can see how to remake future effects so they don't look like the past. You probably got stuck in more than one attachment, aversion, and illusion, three of the mental afflictions hardwired in us humans. Examine what gave rise to what, and you'll see some connections. Look at your imagery, and remake what leads where you don't want to go. Then find the right time to do what is truly in the interests of your Higher Self.
Hi Melody - Will try to write something when I get off the road.
Hi AceStar - Thought I would ask anyway. Of course email when you wish. As I am on the road it may take me a while to answer. Be well.

Hi Alix - Yes. Depending on what transits are going on, it will release energies through either of the quincunx segments.

robert - this is great....
i am re-reading... taking all in.
i feel we are all purging on some level, and as you say...for some by their own volition & others it seems to come from outside or external sources....all from higher self
by last couple of posts i get from you that all these oppositions are helping to get us all "clear"..... bringing more awareness & understanding to separate the wheat from the chafe....since i am food sensitive to wheat this is now being made easier for me!!!
if it isn't life enhancing or of a resonance (i am allergic or overly sensitive).... lessen the use or connection to it!!
:-)
for me i am paying a greater deal of attention to my body wisdom (intuition)
thanx for these recent posts & re-posts.....so timely & helpful
aum

Hi Michele - Glad you're getting more and more. Oppositions bring awarenesses, which we act on to our benefit or stay in a state of split. Resolving the inner and outer splits in our lives brings integration. Glad these re-postings are still of good use!
Hi Anne - Well, you've already done the hard part of emotional maturing when Saturn sat on your Moon opposed your Mars and square your Taurus planets for all those months along with Neptune joining in the T-square. Elimination and regeneration city! Now the Grand Earth Trines should have helped you stabilize in major ways. This will continue through next Summer, though right now Jupiter is very favorable to you. Do whatever training you need with Saturn in your first house, since it'll set the skills you'll be able to use wisely for years to come. I would think that as things come to the surface with Mars opposed your Taurus planets, you'll see more clearly what direction things are going. Prepare for new initiatives in January accelerating into major opportunities in March and beyond.

Thank you, Robert. Since 1 January, things have been strange indeed. As far as seeing where things are going, I gave that up somewhere toward the last of February....

Thank you! This opposition is currently on my nodal axis (Uranus on NN//Saturn on SN), my partner's MC/IC, both my sister's Pisces Suns, and my boss' MC/IC. That's just the most immediate examples I can think of. I haven't even gotten to friends!
Many of my peers have a natal Saturn in Virgo/Uranus in Pisces opposition, not to mention Pluto conjunct Uranus and Chiron conjunct Saturn. It seems for mid-to-late 1960s birthdays, this is a very important time, somewhat fated. Many things are happening to people that are beyond their specific control. Life is just sweeping away what we knew. I never thought my generation would have a period of testing like this because things seemed so safe and dull but it turns out we will. Pluto in Virgo must need to be awakened to our potential. Maybe we've been too busy hiding in the shadow of, or criticizing Pluto in Leo.
Posted by: reefaroundme | February 08, 2009 at 10:59 PM
Oops, I meant the opposite of that natal opposition. Say that ten times fast. Saturn in Pisces/Uranus in Virgo.
Posted by: reefaroundme | February 08, 2009 at 11:04 PM
Hi reefaroundme - Saturn on Uranus and Uranus on Saturn will always shake some big things up so a being can structure their individuality in different ways. Yes, things will seem very much out of control with such aspects. Uranus is a tornado that blasts old material out of its previous place in our lives. And while Uranus and Pluto in Virgo can indicate tendencies to excessive criticism of what everyone else isn't doing perfectly, with Saturn there it's a great time for honoring the limits of Uranus-Pluto energy as well as getting a way to demonstrate mastery of these energies in our world.
Posted by: Robert | February 18, 2009 at 11:00 AM
That's such a good way to think of it, thank you. I'm preparing for Saturn to conjunct natal Pluto in Virgo soon, so that's helful personally as well.
