This is a huge chance to integrate very powerful dualistic energies if we don't lose our cool, and they affect everyone. We entered the zone yesterday due to Mercury squaring Uranus, with the square to Saturn coming Saturday. This hot zone between 19-22 degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces is active through December 18-19. The good news is that as the planets make their T-squares, they also sextile Neptune showing a larger comprehension will follow the stresses and changes we go through.
It primarily affects people born the second week of March, June, September, and December, as well as anyone with a planet in the degrees mentioned above. And of course, regardless of your Sun sign, often Mercury and Venus will occupy the signs to either side of your Sun, so Aries and Aquarius often have a planet in Pisces, Taurus and Cancer often have a planet in Gemini, Leo and Libra often have a planet in Virgo, and Scorpio and Capricorn often have a planet in Sagittarius.
The following lists older generations and subgeneratons primarily affected because of having a major planet in a Mutable zone of influence. These of course are approximate, and include those born 1924-1926 (Uranus in Pisces), 2-5/1928, 11-12/1928 (Saturn in Sag), 11/1935-2/1937 (Neptune in Virgo and/or Saturn in Pisces), 2/1937-9/1939 (Neptune in Virgo), 6/1943-8/1943, 12/1943-4/1944 (Saturn in Gemini), 6/1946-7/1947, 12/1947-4/1948 (Uranus in Gemini), and 11/1949-2/1950, 8-9/1950 (Saturn in Virgo).
Those born since then include 12/1957-2/1958, 6-11/1958 (Saturn in Sag), 6-7/1965, 10/1965-4/1966 (Saturn in Pisces and/or Uranus and Pluto in Virgo), 8/1966-8/1967 (Uranus and Pluto in Virgo), 8/1967-10/1968, 3-8/1969 (Pluto in Virgo),8-12/1972, 4-6/1973 (Saturn in Gemini), 1-6/1978, 11/1978-11/1981 (Neptune in Sag and/or Saturn in Virgo), 11/1985-12/1986, 8-9/1987 (Uranus in Sag), 1-6/1987, 10-12/1987 (Saturn in Sag), and 3-5/1995, 8/1995-2/1996 (Saturn in Pisces).
Mercury is now bringing an element of mind, information, and life coordination to bear on the Saturn opposition Uranus, helping break through the polarized energies and releasing the ability to integrate along new Gemini lines. The Sun will move through the T-square from December 9-13, with Mars adding to the challenges from December 9-18. As you can see, the second week of December is highly active, so take note and be thoughtful of what shows up in that period.
These are waxing squares relative to Saturn, waning squares relative to Uranus. Thus we should see the first emergence of new duties, responsibilities, and life structures, while also experiencing the culmination of the revolutionary and individualizing energies Uranus has been bringing forth in forms of uniqueness and genius since the Spring of 2007. The waning sextiles to Neptune indicates we can be left with a sense of gratitude for opportunities to grow safely into greater maturity, and we're building our vehicles for embracing and expressing spiritual energies in 2009.
As Mercury moves through the squares, it sets our Gemini and Virgo energies at odds with our Capricorn and Aquarius energies, where something will have to give way, be stopped and/or turned in new directions, or articulated. It challenges us to cultivate our spiritual rapport with others and not fall into gloomy states or rigid thinking or narrow interpretations, or indulge this negative mental states in another. We should find ways to demonstrate our unique thinking, a new genius of coordinating our affairs releasing possible futures, move into accomplishing broader things, and be practical in seeing how the pieces relate to the whole.
When the Sun and Mars move through the squares, it sets our Aries, Leo, and Scorpio energies at odds with our Capricorn and Aquarius energies. This will vitalize and activate in concrete activities all that is promised by Mercury. These challenge us to let go of lesser duties as greater ones beckon, not get involved in disputes that only deflect or drain us uselessly, and not push when backing off is required.
Find creative challenges, take on responsibilities where we can use our diligence, perseverance, and life experiences up to now to help our wisdom to come forth, and be sensitive to consequences of what's happening. Awaken self and/or others to what's really important, and disregard immediate or lesser obligations, limitations, or fears when greater things beckon.
The voids are thrown into 19-22 of Gemini, spanning the actional and emotional, social, and cultural levels of Exteriorization in the Span of Restlessness. Spanning the second and third decan of Gemini, you can bet there will be dualities and dilemmas that will require us to deal with "Values and Desires" issues, as well as "Power and Responsibility" issues.
This span of degrees challenge our Venus and Mars functions relative to each other, as well as our Sun and Saturn functions relative to each other, both within ourselves and in external situations. Some things will be spun off, while other diverse energies will be integrated in a new form of understanding.
Since the void of a T-square is both the solution to whatever stresses occur, as well as indicate the nature of the stresses that occur, examining the degrees involved can help us understand possible things to watch out for and how to respond to what comes up. These involve techniques and fulfillment of being educated in ways to act, as well as the initial stages of educating ourselves within emotional-social affairs.
Many will find an ancient wisdom they may draw on for wider self-expression, as well as an inner wealth or form of "rich supply" to use in discriminating ways. There will be eruptions of what's been held in check up to now that will show us a more natural way to relate to others where we are all enriched and fulfilled in our associations.
The squares will show us how to contact the global Brain or planetary Mind so we can find seed knowledge that will help us assimilate diverse ideas or ways of viewing or interpreting things. While I have no doubt there will be many emotional outbursts, these can show us new approaches to how to express our individuality. Go for whatever rebuilds your body, feelings, energy and vitality. Some things will come out of this period that are more balanced and healthy than whatever we were attempting before now.
In any case, de-stress, don't let yourself be running on nervous energy when you can slow down and reprioritize. Find ways to see that though this is a fulfillment of a long process of revolutionizing our lives, it's also the beginning of things that are more natural for us.
Win, lose, or draw, some things are over, and how we deal with these T-squares will have important implications in March, the first half of April, and June through the first half of October 2009. Consider the next 2 weeks a vision and practicum of things to come.
PS - Addendum: It also affects any point in our charts around 4-6 degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius through the semisquare and sesquisquare aspects made to the hot zones described above. These of course trigger stress, internal and external irritations and even crises, so take note.

Interesting Robert, my moon is at 20 Gemini and I was recently involved in a health scare, is this something that I should regard as an ongoing concern, that being health related matters?

great information and great advice.

I should say too that as a 17 Capricorn sun with Mercury and Venus in Aq that i'm definitely feeling these polarities you're talking about.
I've engaged the process of mastering my animal nature through the use of soul-mind like never before. Getting away from pursuing high-risk, crisis, intensity at the risk of forfeiting moves into greater health, stability, consciousness and mindfullness. These things have all been more recently triggered in my space. I feel as if my body's karma is lashing out and seeking danger as a way to deny presence on Earth.

The first line in this article speaks of integrating
very powerful dualistic energies... I feel this strongly in myself and maybe because the Taurus points effected are hitting my midheaven ..I am not having a really difficult time with them BUT I REALLY see CLEARLY in other people the dualistic energies that exist thier psyches ???? How to cope with others
schisms and not create Havoc in your own life seems an ongoing lesson for me. Now the Gemini points all sextiling Neptune hits my Part of Victory in Gemini and I find myself pouring into creative artistic expressions right now definately lending to the theory of Mercury breaking through the saturn opp uranus polarizations and further the trends of something will have to be stopped, give way, turned into new directions or articulated. I guess Sun and Mars holds the answer and that other peoples personal demons are not my burden to bear anymore... reaching for the higher ..:) Happy Holidays
With Love ... Melody

P.S.
Upon reviewing the reading you did for me I am reminded that you mentioned that I have natally in
my chart saturn/Pisces 'biseptile'? # i'll double check this # Neptune/Scorpio and you commented on it drawing out others subconcious stuff when I'm around them ...does that energy lend more to the drawing out of thier psyches or my being able to see them ?? Oddly enough I am finding that all things piscean i.e. poetry, music, videos, fantasy seems to speak louder to other people when I try to convey things so
in turn I am seeing my own power and using it.
Just curious about your thoughts on this

Hi Robert, thanks for spelling all of this out so clearly. I keep hearing incredibly negative things about this upcoming full moon and it is officially freaking me out. I feel a bit better knowing that none of the degree spans fall on anything significant in my chart that I can see (3/21/71 - 12:15 am). There is a whole lotta stress going on in my life right now anyway and I do not feel I am coping with it in a healthy way. I just feel really blocked. Bleh. Anyway, thanks again.

Hi, Robert. 4 May 1941 I have Neptune in Virgo, 25°10'32, retrograde. lol Virgo is my asc. Things are very interesting, needless to say.

Thank you Robert for this great article.
Personally,as I am already in the midst of the big change-break life transition (transiting Saturn-Uranus opposition speaks with my natal Sun 18Gemini- Moon 19Sagitarius opposition, and 23Gem ASC), I can only welcome incoming T-squares .
Very challenging and stressful cycle, but necessary at the same time. As some kind of presentiment I have that very soon the time will come to an end for all unnecessary and unresolved aspects of my life; the time to dismantle; unbuilt unneeded to be able to rebuild afterwards again.
Take care and stay in tune with yourself- wish for you all, as for myself too. Love, Lili

I keep ruminating over this article because I have someone in my life who keeps trying to stay mired in
negativity and thier own loops of crazy narcissistic intellectualism and justifications because they aren't really moving forward and they keep trying to pull me back into being centered on them. It's sad really. Integrating duality within oneself is just that .. within oneself. But many people can't do this and PROJECT this unto others insisting that everything the other person does is for and about them ( they need the other person to be thier mirror -this is especially true if they do NOTHING in the real world or real time through right action towards accomplishing anything positive with the other person )... again one's burdens are, need and should be one's own. When one is honest in one's life and with oneself .. energy has a natural flow .. that includes being honest with everyone in thier lives -- lending balance to all thier relationships (hopefully ) .. its a delicate give and take dance. That is .. in truth the nature of Nature. All things sustain each other ..and it all goes in cycles. Anything else is well ... not natural and usually ends up being twisted and destructive for one person over the other - it becomes predatory I guess one could say for people's transparencies are entirely based upon thier motives and so is the fruit of thier actions. Honest people with honest motives have no need to compartmentalize thier lives and relationships. So Mercury here .. as you say brings the mind coordination that is so necessary for the internal integration for tapping into the Saturn opposite Uranus..and again I am taking note of the Sun/Mars stuff that is showing up in the next week or two. Being true to myself being at the very foundational core of my actions these days.
But I'm gonna say you nailed it right on with the following paragraph:
" As Mercury moves through the squares, it sets our Gemini and Virgo energies at odds with our Capricorn and Aquarius energies, where something will have to give way, be stopped and/or turned in new directions, or articulated. "
Lots to think about as usual Robert and very insightful. I hope everyone just hangs in there and keeps thier cool. Don't let the rats and mosquitos of the world get to you. There are bright days ahead this I firmly believe :)

Hi Damien - I don't know if your Moon is directly related to health matters in your chart. These are usually associated with 1st and 6th house influences. Moon is specifically stomach and digestive issues. With Saturn and Uranus both in long term squares, there are definitely things you need to take care of in terms of adjusting your life and habits to take care of yourself better. Uranus is now moving out of square (you've been dealing with it for a couple of years) while Saturn will put pressure through next Summer. Of course, Saturn and Uranus are very favorable to your Sun, which should help many areas of your life.
Hi Elizabeth S. - Thanks.
Hi Melody - Some of what you say are lessons for all of us, since as we learn about our own issues we often have to deal with others going through similar stuff while not losing our equilibrium. Misery may love company, but it doesn't mean we should also become miserable simply because someone else is indulging that useless emotional response. Yes, you have Saturn biseptile Neptune like others born when you were. With Saturn in Pisces in 7th, it can work both ways you describe as well as more. Happy Holidays to you and everyone else as well!
Hi Christine - Please stop freaking out about the coming Full Moon. Even difficult aspects can be used to turn things for the better if we find the right point of view. I suspect that you could be tuning in on the collective angst, or perhaps have something triggered from subconsciousness that is challenging right response, which may mean nothing more than just hanging tough and not making anything worse than it is while feeling what you have to feel.
Hi Anne - You're in a training period. Accept the rigor and you'll be ready to become a force in the collective by this time next year. Until then, get clear about your ideals and open to being led out into a transcendent world of activity. Things are afoot beyond your present understanding, and remember to practice your life actions as though you are being observed by a Divine Presence.
Hi Lili - What's being fractured will open major opportunities when Jupiter moves into Aquarius next year. What Neptune has hinted at will become concrete opportunities and visions to be fulfilled. Saturn is showing you what and how to end "all unnecessary and unresolved aspects of my life." And of course, once the detritus is removed from our life, then we build/rebuild what we need to with whatever is left plus whatever has shown up.

Thanks for the response man. I recently experienced a profound shift in my perception this past saturday night coming clean with a lot of internal garbage gunking up my system a lot related to health matters and sensation seeking addictive tendancies. 'A house-keeping of the soul' as decribed in the song Bonfire by the band Lamb co-writtern by the very Scorpionic Lou Rhodes, sounds about right, what with the emergency kisses of the Cap Jupiter and Virg. Saturn due to leave their earth-swarms in the coming year.

HI :)
Thank you Robert for your warm and supportive response .. I have to be completely honest ( a shocker for one Aries to another LOL ;) ) I kind of count on you for validation at times because I know you'll only give me that when it is warranted or you will give me a typical Aries :) 'Hey your going the wrong way let me explain with clarity friend' response because thats really what I get from your site along with all the wonderful astrological teachings and spiritual sharings. Keep doing the great good work besides being a scholar and a gentleman you are a gifted rock and anchor for many ... Hi Robert,
I really enjoy reading your columns and like the spiritual perspective you bring into a bigger picture. I have been on a very deep journey for a number of years now and clearing old stuff is allowing a blossoming. During this powerful time mentioned in this article I am working with and presenting to groups from a perspective of inter-relational being and the principles of collectivism - of possibility and potential for the future. I am inspired by this piece as I feel all the energies are supporting this work. Also the Jan 09 eclipse is conjunct my natal sun within half a degree (8th) and also trines my natal Jupiter-conjunct-Uranus (4th). This will occur on my 40th birthday!! I have a strong feeling of emergence building within. Any information you are willing to share on this would be welcomed.
Many blessings!

Hi Robert,
As always, great reading and very insightful. I always look to your articles for a 'heads-up' for things to come and how to best deal with these issues. Thanks so much!

Hi Damien - Sure. Sounds like you're in major motion. This is truly the time for breakthroughs around "spiritual gunk."
Hi Melody - I just try to call 'em as I see 'em, and often seem to get it right, whatever that means. And yes, be kool but don't drink the koolaid!;-)
Hi Isis - Glad you can get into the spiritual dimension of my posts. Eclipse trines show that by things getting shut down in the houses in which the eclipses fall, we gain understanding and harmony in the areas they trine. You've finished creating whatever vision you had several years ago, and now will be going deeper to find a new form of compassionate understanding. Also take note of where the Mars-Jupiter conjunction falls in your chart. Very important.
Hi anu - Haven't had time to compose anything yet. Barely keeping up with what's already on my plate. Cleared several things in the past few days, but still have more to do than any two people could accomplish in a timely manner. Will see if I can compose something.
Hi Tiffany - You're very welcome. Keep checking in, and also you may want to check out archives from a while ago, since some of what I write stays valid for months.

Thank you, Robert, for your answer. I have no idea what you are talking about, but I am sure someone does, and I will know when I am supposed to. A
