Today we celebrate the birth of the ONE of whom John Lennon said, "Before Elvis, there was nothing." He was a singular pioneering force, a genuinely spiritual man and electrifying figure who blazed a gyrating trail of a new form of art that would impact our world for all time.
I was a kid when he hit the national airwaves, and I had the privilege of hearing the King via the now extinct thing we called "a transistor radio." Even though I didn't know much, I knew THAT voice got everyone agitated, both kids and adults, and that a whole lot of people started getting very excited one way and another. Astrologically, we had a huge stellium in Leo that showed a huge heart door opening, and "Elvis the Pelvis" was the one who showed up to light the way.
We should make January 8th a national holiday where we can Sheik Ourbootes. It would even give our international marketing culture a new holiday, a week after the Western New Year's, so it fits with the long term plan to make every week a holiday!
I gather there are global celebrations of the man and his work on cable today, so by all means, if you can get to the cablecast, pop some popcorn and prepare to have fun! And if you just can't shake free tonight (or don't have a DVR!), then today's link to last year's birthday celebration will give you a whole lot of viewing entertainment.
In last year's article I provide some backstory for those who weren't around when the King was on stage. He read some pretty profound spiritual works, and recited passages from books by HP Blavatsky, Dane Rudhyar, Krishnamurti, Nicholas Roerich, and the Tibetan Book of the Dead while he was on stage during the final years of his life. I go into a lot more detail about his impact in last year's article, so please check it out.
Happy Birthday Elvis! I have a feeling your voice will entertain and impact our world forever, even if you have truly "left the building." "Thaankyewverramuuch......"

Your Highness,
Speaking of Elvis and his shakey pelvis, the desert just shook from a 4.5 in San Berdu attached with a strange windflow!

Hi Chickie - With all the other major earthquake activity clustered around the northern end of Baja lately, it's not a very good sign. Ride the waves, and when "you gotta go, go now, or else you gotta spend all night...."
