Venus is already slowing down, preparing to go retrograde as it does every 19 months. When any planet goes retrograde, there is an inward turning, a greater receptivity to unconscious factors, and a retracing of steps already traversed. When Venus goes retrograde, we are enabled to find a new appreciation and admiration for whatever Venus touches or symbolizes in our charts and lives, or find a new value in old interactions and things.
Any New Moon kicks off a 4 week period of activity lasting through the next New Moon. Since December 2008, we've had a series of New Moons within the larger cluster of planets between Capricorn and Aries. This span will continue through the New Moon of late April affecting May. This week we are at the midpoint of 4 months of this cluster dominating everything. After that the New Moons will be outside the cluster, and allow for broader perspectives and experiences.
We have a New Moon coming in a few hours that will affect us for the next 4 weeks. This initiates the closing of the old year cycle, preparing us for the coming Vernal (Spring) Equinox, a point of extraordinary importance in time. Pisces is where we harvest the fruits of our labors, for good or ill, and remember many things in our mystic and distant past. It is where we re-view the movie of our life and see many things from a different perspective.
Thanks to the great news source TruthOut, we find a unique, charming, and profound snapshot of an interview from a frozen moment in 1969 when a teen with a reel to reel tape recorder went face to face with John Lennon in a hotel room during the "Live Peace" era in Toronto. This 5 minute short is a true work of art. If you're interested in spending a somewhat fascinating 300 seconds, read on.
I realize we live in an era of truncated attention spans, so I figured it would be useful to take a new look at recent eclipses and what they may bring to all of us over the next few months and years. Important endings and new beginnings will manifest, and so another look is in order.
Today I offer the last part of what the recent February 2009 Aquarius-Leo Lunar Eclipse holds for our world. Overall the effect would seem to show many disillusionments from the inability to prop up what ego is trying to force but cannot sustain over the next few months.
I've been asked to comment about Comet Lulin, the green comet now streaking through our solar system in apparent backward motion. Historically comets are regarded in astrology as distant wanderers, and while some return every so often, this is the first, and possibly last, time this particular celestial body comes to visit us. So just what could this comet portend?
Today we celebrate one of the great musical forces in our world, Aquarian Billie Joe Armstrong, the stellar frontman for Green Day. Able to draw the attention of millions around the world, he's been a great voice challenging the norms of the Bush era in his own blunt, uncompromising way. Today I have a large number of great videos.
This is the next in the eternal series of Mars/Jupiter cycles impelling change and growth on all levels of life. Unlike Mars/Saturn cycles which teach us whether we want to learn or not, when Mars and Jupiter get together it's a great feast of Fire and Water, with lots of expansion, protection, learning, and great growth into new Jupiterian realms of life. So what does it promise for us all?
Hi all - I'm finally able to answer questions from the past two weeks. I've lengthened the sidebar so you can find where your comment was posted. I only responded to questions, and appreciate the nice things some of you said about various posts. I'll answer more recent ones over the next few days.
I'm finally off the road. I won't be answering comments or emails for a day or two, since it's been a long road in a short time with lots accomplished, including three talks. I'm taking two days for myself, and I'll be getting back to all who have emailed me soon.
As long time readers know, I do a post each year on Valentines Day. This year's post picks up the thread from the Spirit of Valentines' past, and continues the theme of key issues around love, boundaries, loyalties, seduction, and courtship.
