Yesterday we introduced some key factors in the outer planet conjunctions by Jupiter. Today we'll take a closer look at the ongoing Jupiter conjunct Neptune, which will affect us all for 12 years to come.
Whenever Jupiter conjuncts a planet, whether in the sky or in our charts, it sets a 12 year cycle into motion. Obviously this affects the affairs of the house in which the conjunction falls, as well as the houses ruled by whatever planet Jupiter touches. This brings expansion, openings, opportunities, and possibilities to these areas.
Obviously, a major factor to these conjunctions is what sign these conjunctions fall in. This is as true for the transit to transit conjunctions as it is in our individual charts. Today we'll explore what this ongoing conjunction in Aquarius could symbolize, since the sign is the filter through which the planetary energies work their function.
Jupiter moves through each sign once every 12 years, bringing expansion, teachings, and larger visions of truth to everything connected to that sign. Aquarius is the sign of Angels, world servants, group work, and the higher ideals of humanity. We all have Aquarius somewhere in our chart, and that's where we can tune into these higher altruistic, idealistic energies.
Neptune has been in Aquarius for a number of years, but this is the first time that Jupiter has conjuncted Neptune in Aquarius since 1843. Students of history will note the years following that times featured new vision, new humanitarian and reform movements, and an overall expansionist atmosphere. So you can infer that 2009 is very important for imparting future visions to humanity as well as to individuals, since Jupiter will conjunct Neptune three times in the last third of Aquarius throughout this year.
The reason this article's title only concerns itself with the months through June is that these months show the forward span of Jupiter's movement through Aquarius. As of June, it goes stationary RX and retrogrades back to 18 Aquarius, going direct in October when it will again cross the span of 18-28 Aquarius through the end of 2009 before entering Pisces in January 2010 when it will streak toward its multiple conjunctions with Uranus.
The first exact conjunction between Jupiter and Neptune occurs in late May at 27 Aquarius on the exact point of Neptune going stationary retrograde. The next time is in early July at the same degree. The third time is at the time of the Winter Solstice in late December 2009 at 25 Aquarius, setting this cycle into motion through 2163, when the conjunction is in early Aquarius. To note, that will be a short cycle, since Jupiter again conjuncts Neptune in 2176 at 30 Aquarius.
25 Aquarius, the degree of the final conjunction of 2009, is extraordinarily important due to it being Uranus' stationary RX point in May 2001, its stationary direct point in November 2002, and Neptune's stationary RX point in May 2008. That would imply that the coming Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in late December 2009 will set things related to 2001, 2002, and 2008 into motion for at least 12 years to come.
Obviously these conjunctions will affect planets we have in mid-to-late Aquarius, bringing renewal of possibilities of that planetary function and opening a 12 year adventure of exploring how to expand those planetary energies. The degrees involved may shed light upon how these expansion energies will demonstrate.
27 Aquarius, the point of the first two conjunctions, is a degree of "delicacy of feeling," where we are able to see how the material shades into the spiritual, and can know values that unite seekers of the highest across the generations and ages. This is a degree where our heart finds assurance in an enduring meaning and identity. The keyword is Tradition, where we are told it can yield a "high realization of values and a real gift for using them."
25 Aquarius, the final launch point of the coming 154 year cycle, is a degree of learning how to allow volition to override reflexive or instinctive reactions, where we can find a new strength in knowing how to manage emotions or social-cultural affairs. This is degree of our ability to overcome handicaps, consciously integrate our self-knowing, and mobilize our powers to take better advantage of worldly opportunities. The keyword is Uniqueness, and we are told it can yield a "genius for turning deficiency in a real asset."
Both 25 and 27 deal with management issues. 25 is the culmination of the emotional, social, and cultural span, while 27 is the counterpoint degree in the individual, mental, and spiritual span. Both are said to be manipulating, ideal, ingenious, and generalizing, with 25 being "social-inspired" and 27 being "spiritual-sensitive." These fall in the Libra decan of Aquarius, where the Aquarian nature is focused on justice and fairness, and evened out through a balancing, weighing refinement.
We've been given the ability to sense these energies within collective consciousness due to Neptune occupying this span. Jupiter will now bring teachings and visions connected to these. It promises a new collective atmosphere, where we can grow into a wider, larger idealistic view and function based in what house it falls in.
It will be a very dynamic influences for those born in mid-February, mid-May, mid-August, and mid-November, as well as people born with Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, or Neptune in the latter part of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius, as well as those born in the mid-1950s and early 1990s. There will be others who are also very powerfully affected by these conjunctions, of course, but a detailed list of all those affected are too numerous to list here.
I'll compose more about this very powerful force majure in the coming months.

I've just noticed these conjunctions - they'll be squaring my Mars at 27.0 Taurus (10th h), and Jupiter will also station on my Descendant at 18 Aquarius. I'm curious to see what they'll mean for me! Any thoughts? (BTW, I have natal Jupiter and Neptune conjunct in early Scorpio.) Since I'm currently experiencing Saturn on my Sun square natal Saturn, I've been brooding on work/career issues.

Hello Robert,
Reading what you wrote above gives me much to be happy about but some pause as well; 2001 wasn't a great year for me (although 2002 proved to be a marked improvement). Should I have faith that whatever will be re-ignited from 2001 and 2002 will be spiritually purer and refined as Neptune has been there working his magic? Or in other words, it is reasonable to have faith that goals, wishes and desires (depending on the house calculation method, this occurs in my 11th or 12th) from those periods that were delayed may be realized in an even better form - provided that I work for them of course (I haven't forgotten about Saturn in Virgo!)?
What makes me happy is that my Venus is at 24 Aquarius and Pluto is at 26 Libra.
As always, thank you for some beautiful and insightful thoughts.
Yours,
Matt

This is SO real! You do have a unique gift to phrase these ideias in such a clear fashion that we can almost FEEL them take shape! My Venus is at 25th. and my Husband's Jupiter at 27th. Aquarious... I guess this makes this explanation so interesting for us!
Thank you once again,
Namasté,
Isabel

Hi Robert,
Excellent article! I was wondering what this will mean for those of us who don't have any planets between 23 to 29 degrees in any sign. I know that the house the conjunction occurs in will be activated (and probably the opposite house), but any thoughts on how this will affect us?
Thanks!

Hello Robert,
Do you think the second conjunction in July at 27 Aquarius could be a dispositor for an announcement that would somehow unite humanity (within a religous context) on a global scale?
Just wondering...
Juliet :-)

Robert, my Sun sits in the 9th House at 25 Leo. what does this opposition mean? i have recently taken my spiritual growth and healing to be my TOP priority in my life. By saying good-bye to many things an incredible assortment of gifts and experiences have been falling into my lap, including many incredible realizations. The funny thing is, talking about the keyword "Tradition", all of my experiences have been rooted in a spiritual tradition, spanning South American shamanism, North American shamanism and Tibetan Buddhism, as if all 3 are converging. Truly remarkable times! Thank you for any comment on how this conjunction, opposite my natal sun may affect me.

Jupiter is currently on my Ascendant so I'm excited to see what develops (and as it retrogrades back in June and October). I just got accepted to grad school and got funding so it's a big change for me. Will you be writing about this Aries new moon? It's right on my Chiron (in the second house) so I'm interested in a new start in relation to my problems with resources (both moolah and personal ones...). Maybe because Jupiter was also quincunx Saturn, my fellowship was smaller than it would have been last year with funding cuts. I'll still have to figure out how to finance most of my living expenses. Gotta work, I always have, just hoping in the future I will finally be able to devote as much energy to my own work.

This area of Aquarius has always been a point of confusion for me as far as interpretation. My 5th house cusp is 27'30 Aquarius and my natal Moon is 25'09 Aquarius, technically in the 4th house, altho I have been told that it should be considered a 5th house Moon because of the nearness to the cusp. How shall I interpret the upcoming Jupiter movement in this area of my natal chart? (Born: 4/23/57 at 5:35pm Summit, NJ.)

Oops...'religious context' is what I meant :-)

Hi, Robert. I have Jupiter, Saturn, and Uranus in my natal Taurus, and Nepture in my ASC, Virgo.
Since about mid-October 2008, it has been a very rough ride. This sounds better....

Hi Shehzaad - Thanks for the compliment. I've always believed if we could take a large enough view, miracles and wonder can come forth. Aum.
Hi Leslee - Think astrologically. Upper (waning) square is culminative. Look at the planetary energies involved. Your Mars will be challenged to find more ideal ways to express. You may want to comb the archives for the article I did on Saturn conjunctions to the Sun. Anything stationary on the Dsc shows changes in future relationships, and ways of greeting both others and opportunities.
Hi Matt - Things from the past may show up again as symbols of how far we've grown from the earlier form. Certainly you've grown since then, as have your heart and mind. Your own attention to 11/12 issues and how they relate can yield a lot of material. Your Venus will experience a true opening this year.
Hi Isabel - It would seem that you and your mate can experience some fairly transcendent feelings this year. The Jupiter (Guru) return can bring the rebirth of all good things, if we find the right point of view.
Hi Viki - Definitely look to the house it falls in, and take a deeper look at the various and many aspects it will make to a number of your planets. You're welcome.
Hi Juliet - Not sure that complex a question can be answered here. As I believe "there is no religion higher than Truth," it would seem there are many ways to find our way home. Religion, governed by the 6th Ray, is ebbing along with old Pisces ways. It is being replaced by the Aquarian Age, where we bring Order Out Of Chaos as the 7th Ray influences grows stronger for the next 2000 years. As we individually realize the Aquarian ideal, we become attuned with the evolutionary leap now occurring. And of course, since we're all on the Earth together, there will be an element of our common "worship" of our Earth that we may continue to live. Humanity is ultimately on a long range path of redeeming its human nature with Nature Herself.
Hi Yeshe - Sounds like you're doing your ideal. Get and stay clear about what roles you're playing, keep searching for your place of greatest service, generate momentum and do not overlook critical issues in the collective field. Train the mind to focus on the holistic view through synthesis. See the interrelated elements in assumptions of understanding, and open to seeing elements of the present as keys to glimpsing the future.
Hi reefaroundme - Congrats on getting into grad school! Very good Jupiter self-image beginning. By now you've read the New Moon article. This will stimulate new initiatives in your Higher Self in that area. We work at whatever until we find ourselves working at something else. The trick of course is to combine the ability to do what you love with the skill that the world wants and needs. I'm sure you will find something fairly perfect for you.
Hi Liz - Your Moon is in the bridging zone between those two life areas. That means it blends its experience. Jupiter will touch your Lunar elements for months to come, with potential for great blessings and expansions of vision or opportunities. And it's extremely favorable to your Sun. Expect significant developments in late May into June.
Hi AnneTexas - So Jupiter helped you get a clear understanding in 2008 so that you can now finish some things. You've been seeing and knowing some far-reaching things lately. See the regenerative potential and get it in gear late April, and ride the wave as Venus and Mars cross your Taurus stellium.

Thanks Robert...I guess I meant a 'spiritual context' more so than a 'religious one'.
Juliet :-)

Thank you so much, Robert! I did read the New Moon article posted shortly after this and it was amazingly on point for me.

Dear Robert,
Thanks so much for explaining my moon position and the upcoming favorable developments. At present, I am having a rough time of it with regards to keeping my home, generating income, and even my health. Have you any advice for dealing with these issues until the potentialities manifest themselves? I am currently at a loss and am experiencing a great deal of emotional and physical pain.
Posted by: Liz | March 29, 2009 at 09:33 AM
Hi Juliet - Sure. I believe the biggest shift in the coming years will be to redefine "spirituality" relative to religion. And the worship for the health and well being of our Mother Earth will feature prominently in any true "religion," since Earth is the foundation of our human existence.
Hi reefaroundme - Sure. I figured it would be on point. Sometimes I don't have the time to compose as quickly as I'd like.
Hi Liz - It sounds like you're going through what many others are also experiencing. Unfortunately, given the extent of what you're asking about, I really cannot go into an elaborate analysis of your chart in a comment stream. However, there are many articles in the archives that may be of use in reorienting your mind so that you can be more effective in creating thought forms that will assist your growth into a better life. You may want to re-read recent articles about finding a new job or profession, since what I offered there is of use to anyone trying to reinvent themselves.
Open to possibilities you haven't considered before now to generate income. Open to information that will help you improve your health. The best, quickest way to turn a life around is to get educated in skills that our world needs. That's how I've lived my life. I've been on my own for over 40 years, and along the way I've cultivated many different kinds of skills. I've often been offered gigs for money doing those things, even though I originally did them for my own pleasure. Open to what you have not yet imaged, and be receptive to the hints Spirit will send. Demand the revelation, and you will get one. And to quote a respected source, "Action speaks louder than suffering."

Thanks Robert, This applies to me too with Saturn heading for my much afflicted MC. Hope your wisdom can help to keep me on course through what promises to be an "interesting" time ahead. I will keep this in my mind. Meanwhile, may I send you the joy of a beautiful Cornish spring day for your solar return,
Shanti.

Hi Robert.
Although I know it is too much for a comment stream, I'm very curious about basic comments about this conjunction, for it falls in the cusp (+/- 2º) of my 4th house or IC, being this a place where I actually sense a deep void, being centered in the tasks of Saturn in 10th (I have to say, that my chart is radically filled over the horizon, and nearly totally empty down it, so it has something to say there).
Just to complete the picture, this conjunction (Chiron added more or less), squares my Jupiter Taurus in 7th -I'm actually a loner, at home and outside-, and at the same time of this great square, Uranus -being co-ruler of 4th Aquarius and opposed to current Saturn- leaving my 4th at the last degrees, starts making a sextile to this Jupiter, after years of changing home for all kind of reasons (Uranian unrestless process).
OK, this is a long term and very complex process, any insights will be appreciated with these "mess", but to simplify the question is: when receiving this conjunction in the cusp of 4th, it must involve your family or it can
speak simply about new place, new house, or inner life without material considerations?. Or...what to expect metaphysically or earthly in a few specifics, if it's possible?.
I'm a mid-Scorpio traditional Ascendant and houses.
Thanks as always.
Henry.

Thank you Robert for your advice and guidance. I plan to remain open and think outside the box! And demand the revelation too!
Posted by: Liz | March 30, 2009 at 09:47 AM
Thanks, Robert. I have read your Saturn conjunction article - many times lately! Still puzzling everything out. I just realized that the midpoint of my Sun (18Vir) square Saturn is within a degree of natal Neptune, which is 5 degrees approaching my IC. Maybe that explains why I've always been confused about career issues! Work (writing) I'm good at; career... confusing. I guess transiting Saturn (and Uranus recently) have been trying to clarify/adjust things. Transiting Neptune/Chiron/Jupiter squaring my 10th house Mars... should be working on that career thing from a whole other angle, so to speak. :-)

Hi, Robert thanks for replying to my other post I put on the first article that you posted about this new jupiter/neptune cycle. I keep reading information about neptune in the 7th house and it has such a bad rap. I am wondering what will happen this cycle will hit my 7th house now and what that will yield. I hope it is good. I hope to meet a cool person I can have a long term, healthy, happy relationship with. I am getting fed up with being single.
Posted by: micheline | April 01, 2009 at 12:21 AM
Hi Morvah - Saturn in the 9th prepares us for greater visibility and responsibility. An "afflicted" MC only means we get to enter into difficult situations where we can release positive energies, much like a "seesaw" configuration. We may experience internal oppositions, but eventually we get to hold the center in the midst of opposing outer forces. Thanks for the Cornish Spring!
Hi Henry - Your chart shows you're fit for high visibility. Right now you're doing deep, below the surface work on yourself, given that everything is currently below the horizon in your map except Saturn. Good for exploring a rich inner life. This conjunction for you should open a new view of everything you mentioned. It's more than the home and family - that sector represents our foundations. Also you can consider that the ruler of your 2nd and 5th are about to shift quadrants, offering you a new base of operations in those areas of your life. Jupiter's opportunities, protection, and teachings are preparing you for when Neptune moves through the 4th.
Hi Liz - Well, when we want a revelation as much as a drowning person wants air, then we'll get one in short order! In the tension of striving many things come forth that wouldn't otherwise.
Hi Leslee - Not sure if 18 Virgo is the midpoint or the degree of your Sun. I seldom use midpoints, since their effect is usually subtle and can be explained by other factors. Are you saying your Sun and Saturn are semisquare Neptune? If so, that can lead to internal confusion about what role you want to play, and excess timidity in being decisive about what you are to do. Mars in the 10th often shows a pace setter, someone who is a "warrior" for a public cause (and yes, may find friction in the profession!) Look to the ruler of your 10th for professional growth cycles, and use the Jupiter square Mars to do something public in a big way!
Hi Micheline - Neptune in the 7th may bring deceptions, but also dreams come true. Everything depends on what subconscious materials we allow to come forth, whether we're allowing the collective to drive our dreams or whether we're dreaming our highest idea to come forth from the vast unknown. With Jupiter there, look to an Aquarian idealist, a friend, a visionary, and someone who is more open than closed, even if it seems somewhat weird or mysterious with Neptune hanging out there. And no one needs to remain single - the trick is to find a friend with whom you can play and work, rejoice and adventure with one day at a time. As friendships mature we find love, play, creativity, and spontaneity.

I have that 1956 Jupiter/Pluto conjunction straddled across my Leo MC 24 degrees so the Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron configuration is settling all around my IC this year. The Neptune/IC conjunction so far has left me out of work for a year, isolated from family and friends because of lack of money and worrying about my daughter trying to get into art school (Neptune natally in 12th) It all started from trying to get away from the controlling power of my ex-husband.
I also have transiting Pluto square my natal Aries Sun (5th house )plus Saturb opp Mercury (Pisces 4th house). Will the addition of Jupiter ease the pain or bring things to a head? Make or break?
Posted by: Elaine | April 03, 2009 at 11:20 AM
Hi Robert,
I'm hoping that this conjunction will be the beginning of a new thought for humankind; one of those historical shifts.
I wonder what your thoughts are concerning Chiron joining this conjunction for time. Perhaps healing of collective wounds?
And I am holding my breath a bit. This conjunction is squaring my 12th house Scorpio Moon exactly. My long stable thyroid just went totally wonky with the exact first 25 degree hit of the square. I'm a bit unnerved as I have a past history of long term illness. Been doing some thinking and reading on how best to handle the square and grow from it without repeating my pattern. Any thoughts would be appreciated, although I see many are hoping for a response to a personal transit, lol!
Neptune and Jupiter will also be within 3 degrees of a trine with my 11th house Venus in Libra, so I'm hoping for a little support there, but not too much expansion of the former!
Glad to hear you are doing well, albeit quite busy. Don't forget to breathe :)
Blessings,
Jeri

Hi Elaine - Just remember that a planetary alignment never makes anything happen. The Neptune opposed your Jupiter shows you need to stay focused on the larger situation, and not let anything drift. Better to get away from external controlling factors and become strong so you have autonomy. After you've gathered your medicine, then you have the mojo to help daughter, etc. Pluto square the Sun shows you have amazing powers of concentration and insight right now, and must go deep to bring out your power born of your direct experience. Saturn opposition Mercury shows you should open to broader points of view, study, read, write, and get a good mental/learning discipline. Positive Jupiter has its areas of influence; a frustrated Saturn has its own different and separate area of influence.
Hi Jeri - Am breathing as best I can. This IS a historical shift of excellent proportions, given the other factors. Check out the archives for my articles on Chiron - it's more than just "healing" as it is healing to our Higher Self. My articles cover Chiron's traits, which mirror Thoth-Hermes' qualities to an amazing degree. Try "healing unto our (individual and collective) Higher Self." Squares turn corners, blocking old manifestations and showing us a door to new areas of influence and experience. Go broader, higher, wider ways of living and experiencing, get beyond discontent and get dispassionate about what you like/don't like, and show your heart. Thyroid is said to be ruled by Venus. Check out what's been happening to your Venus, and you'll get clues. Trines bring understanding, therefore you will understand your Venus and all it rules to a better degree throughout this entire year.

Hello Robert,
I am reading this article many times, it is holding so much goodness and truth for us all. Also the personal significance is extraordinary and very relevant.

Hi Robert! That was a very interesting article! I am interested in this upcoming aspect a lot! The late May conjunction happens exactly on my birthday, and forms a square with my 1st house scorpio moon, a conjunction to my IC (and opposition with MC as is expected…)… Could you tell me what I should expect? Should I be scared? Careful of something? Expect something good? Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: Ria | April 07, 2009 at 01:05 PM
Thanks, Robert! Yes, my Sun and Saturn are semisquare Neptune. The ruler of my 10th (and my Mars in Taurus) is Venus (which is conjoined Pluto in my 1st). I have Libra North Node, so this balance of Venus/Libra and Mars/Aries energies is a major theme. There's a lot of focus on my Venus now (trine from tr Pluto) and my 7th house, where this Aquarian conjunction is happening. Jupiter will station on my Descendant/natal Chiron. And there's the long Neptune-Chiron square transit to my Mars. I'm thinking (and seeing in current life events) that the self-vs-relationship issues I've long struggled with could get transformed with these transits.
Posted by: Leslee | April 10, 2009 at 04:29 AM
Hi Morvah - Yes, usually there's more to glean from reading my stuff several times, kind of like my personal sessions with people always yield new insights even years after the session. Your lighthouse sounds like some kind of beautiful home. And of course you're most welcome.
Hi Ria - What you want is more than I can discuss in a comment stream, since there are too many variables. It could be anything from moving to a new home to seeing the spiritual lessons from something in your early life that perplexed you before now. This is a point of emergent futures for your Moon, as well as your self image. You'll be feeling a lot all year as a prelude to greater understanding and ease of emotional expression in 2010.
Hi Leslee - It would seem that you're seeing a lot break the surface, and will be in a fairly public spotlight for some time to come.

Dear Robert - thank you for the amazing detail and practical analysis. This is all relatively new to me & I must reread everything multiple times to even begin to absorb! Please forgive the level of ignorance indicated by my questions - Can you elaborate a bit more on implications of the Jupiter transit opposing the natal pluto for us born in the late 40's - 50's? Please advise if you have any articles on that topic.. When you refer to position in specific degrees, does this relate only to natal planets @ those exact degrees? Transiting Pluto is very close to my MC @ 2 Cap 19', and Transiting Jupiter is almost exactly opposite natal Pluto @ 23 Leo 16', with True Node @ 15 Aquarius 12'. The past year has been a search for a new career path and life purpose (your articles on That topic were illuminating!) after employment was terminated. It has been a very healing time (gift)with a return to school, and remaining active in philanthropic outreach. With the degree in sight, I'm a little concerned about how to proceed during the coming months.. What little info I've located about the Jupiter/Pluto opposition seems to indicate difficulties ahead...any insight is greatly appreciated. Again - thank you for sharing.
Posted by: ryn | April 17, 2009 at 06:40 AM
Hi Ryn - You're most welcome. People of all levels come here to learn and hang out with each other, so greetings! We ALL have to read things several times to absorb the deeper meaning, if there is a deeper meaning there. I try to write for a variety of levels of understanding. You've given me an excellent idea for an article which will answer your question, as well as many others who will also be experiencing this phenomenon for several years to come. Just remember that any opposition can be turned into realizations that bring important things to the surface in our lives; in this case Jupiter can represent opportunities and adventures on a variety of levels.

Hi Juliet - I would think this is the time for you to heal into your Higher Self. Open the door and greet the guest! This is the year to turn inward, seek a new compassion and understanding toward self and others, and note the seeds of what's beginning to form. I believe many of your rules and things you think "should" be must be adjusted before August.
That things are unclear can be seen in the Aquarius stellium square your Mars conjunct Neptune. Keep it simple, keep it enjoyable, keep it noble, keep it playful, and keep your heart steady. Learn not to give up too easily, and always keep your eyes on the prize while putting your best self forward. I suspect you'd do well to cultivate more patience and let go of rules and expectations about others that pre-program difficulty even as you begin to let go of things and people that no longer symbolize your likes and values. You'll begin a new life adventure after November this year. Keep finding a form to express your uniqueness and genius more to your liking.

The Jupiter/Neptune Conjunction will be in a trine aspect to my natal Jupiter/Neptune conjunction affecting my sixth and tenth houses. I look at it as a career changer. Your thoughts?

Hi Robert,
Thank you once more for your great insight. I find you to be one of the only astrologers with a good grasp of the Long term cycles. I also very much appreciate the "science" of your writings, it's refreshing in my mind compared to the multitude out there.
I wanted to thank you as I experienced somewhat of an "epiphany" yesterday while reading your previous article in this series. Because of the other article, I realized that the last neptune/jupiter conjunction at 28 Capricorn occurred almost directly on my natal Jupiter back in Jan 1997. (I wasn't "aware" of astrology at the time that this conjunction occurred, but I certainly am now:)
Anyway, I was wondering if you could speak about these conjunctions in the 3rd and 4th houses?
In addition to the previously mentioned aspect, I've got a "boatload" of major aspects/transits occurring right now such as:
Sun 22 Aquarius - 4th house
Venus 8 Aquarius - 3rd house
Neptune 7 Sagitarius - 2nd house
Mars 29 Sagitarius on Galactic centre - 2nd house
Saturn 13 Gemini - 8th house
Moon .5 Gemini - 8th house
Pluto 4 Libra - 11th house
Uranus 23 Libra - 12th house
Chiron 13 Aries -6th house
Mercury 2 Pisces - 4th house
Jupiter 27.5 Capricorn - 3rd house
Asc 2 Scorpio
Quite the agglomeration eh?
It goes without saying that I am a completely different person from Jan 1997, and that I've learned a tremendous amount. I've lived the grand irrationality!
I'm particularly interested about Saturn's upcoming transit into Libra where it'll hit my natal Pluto and then later my natal Uranus in the 11th and 12th house respectively.
Anyway, since the aforementioned 1997 Jupiter/Neptune conjunction on my natal jupiter, life has been quite the ride you might say. Add to this all the intervening transits of Uranus and Neptune and Chiron, and North Node through Cap/Aquarius/Pices, and eclipses etc, and so I'm wondering if you can help me make head or tail of this situation? Maybe it's just Merc Retrograde, but to me it seems at times like a million things are going on at once.
Best,
JP

Hi Juliet - May your life truly become more pleasant before then!
Hi Louisa - Yes, it's conjunct your Chiron. Definitely a new Mars adventure, where you will see how to use that function to express the larger Aquarius energies in very public ways. Best of luck in healing into your Higher Self. You could become quite a Martial force in the collective.
Hi Kay - While you didn't give me much to work with, yes, it could be an understanding and harmonizing of career matters, and clarity about how to prepare for a new adventure or vision in such things. Much depends on where this conjunction falls.
Hi JP - Thanks for your praise of the work. Though some of what I write is rigorous to understand, I know that it offers readers an entirely new dimension on the ancient and venerable craft. These conjunctions at the bottom of a chart obviously affect the roots, home, platform of existence, and all the other 3/4 house keywords. It could manifest in 10,000 ways, depending on where it rules, aspects, etc. Given your planetary positions, this is a real opening year for you in many ways. It would seem that you're embarking on a new adventure, with productivity and intuition featured. Saturn on your Pluto will help you crystalize your divine power, as well as stabilize your relationships, values, and ultimately, your genius. 2010 will be very important in bringing a new vision, as well as a great healing of your personality so that your Higher Self can come forth. Usually in a chart there are quite a few things happening simultaneously, and figuring out what is what is all part of the Art of Synthesis. When Venus and Mars move through Gemini, you'll understand a lot more if you don't get hassled and accept the new responsibilities already in motion since February.

Robert,
Thank you ever so much for your sagacious comments. They are very much appreciated, and I will certainly keep them "top o mind" going forward.
Thanks again. Keep up the great work!
Best,
JP

Hi Robert,
Once more your analysis is greatly appreciated. As I review your analysis on a personal level, I can readily draw-out major live-events that occurred at all the points in time that you elucidate (2001,2002,2008). In particular, May 2001 was the beginning of a major change in my life, which I am now living.
To give you some context, so as to illustrate my larger point that is forthcoming, in May 2001 I moved from a major east-coast North American city to work at a lake-side resort for the summer. This move was a kind of escape for me literally, as many parts of the edifice of the life that I had built up to that point were disintegrating. Just for fun and for some colour, this disintegration included a failing tech start-up,(and the resulting foolishly-accumulated debts piling up from that venture), poisoned relations with my social group, due to destructive habits (both mine and those of my other "friends"), strained family relatiosnhips due to the above business start-up etc.
In May 2001, I left this situation by taking refuge in the country-side without a definite plan of what was to come next. Anyway, come the end of the summer, and thus the end of the work season, I decided to move to a major city on the west coast of North America. I had lived previously on the West Coast in 97-99, due to schooling, and was being drawn there.
I landed in my new spot on the West Coast(not the place I attended school, and I continue to live here) on September 8, 2001. We all know what happened 3 days later. Nonetheless, when I arrived, I remember having a sense/feeling/thought that I had arrived "just in time" or that I had somehow "just barely made it" into something. When the events of Sept 11 occurred just a few days later, this sense was magnified and emphasized for what I think are obvious reasons. In the intervening years, I have, on more than one occasion, described this sense (and the events of 9/11)to my friends as "a reset" point for us humans.
And thus my question for you today:
Can you speak to this "reset" point that I perceived/perceive, in terms of the larger macro-astrological elements (now and going forward), which you so elegantly align for us on a consistent basis?
As a note, again on a personal level, in the course of the intervening years, I have managed to "build a narrative" around these events in the course of striving for personal understanding and meaning, and thus I wonder if there are macro correlations too, from the universal perspective.
Also, for a little more depth in my personal narrative, the beginnings of my "move", can be traced to a year earlier (May 2000). If I remember correctly there was a Taurus eclipse at that time and depending on the degree it would've been somewhere between my 6th and 7th house (I'm a 22 Aquarius Sun to boot). I made 3 literal moves from May 2000 to Sept 2001.
Seeing that we are currently experiencing a lot of Taurus energy, it's probably not a coincidence that I now write of these things, but I'm also wondering if the 2000 eclipse has any special-bearing on the conjunctions that you describe.
Thanks so much.

Hi Robert,
I love your site - reading your articles offer deep and personal insights and of course much technical knowledge which is an education in itself. Your compassion and intelligence oozes through your work and especially how you respond so attentively to your readers. You encircle both the eastern and western philosophies so seamlessly - is this through training or your personal learnings?
question, if you can help throw some light, please. Born march 18, 1961 8.45pm (could be 7.45pm exact time unsure), luanshya. zambia. I have been experiencing crazy and confused career trends for many years now.....where is it all going? Am also involved with a vedantic spiritual organization but becoming very disillusioned with its typical samsaric (wordly) dynamics of politics, insecurities and money-focusedness, far removed from its original purpose of vedanta teachings..... feel am at a cross roads. Your insights I'm sure will offer some pointers. My vision is to achieve certain samsaric milestones by 2011 and then wander, wonder and write... will it come to pass? Thanks.

Hi JP - This one slipped downstream before I could answer you. As to what you wrote, you're most welcome. Am keeping on keeping on as best as possible given the number of Beings I know that are checking out. Sometimes life gets in the way of writing.... Glad what I offer correlates with your journey. Actually, the 1999 Leo Eclipse was the most powerful one at that time, and set a lot of crashes into motion. Grand Fixed Crosses are like that! We all lost a lot after that one, which of course created space for what followed.
Hi Pam - I tend not to separate my training from my learning, since personality integration so we can live our Higher Self involves both. I learned whatever called my Soul/Spirit, and with each realization comes the necessity to practice them so we can learn what is theoretical, and what works in what situations. Answering your particular career issues would involve more than I can address in a comment stream, since it requires some degree of in-depth analysis.
Regarding spiritual orgs, I tend to advise people to take the kernels of wisdom of the Teaching, but not buy into dogmas. Catmas are another thing entirely!;-) Also, organizational politics are usually tedious, and counter to any true spiritual practice, since politics = ego to whatever degree. Only a Being with strong 1st Ray development can enter the political realm without being absorbed by the dramas and illusions there.
So love the Wisdom, the Way, and the Community, but above all, open your Heart and Mind to signals from Spirit showing you which doors are opening as old ones close. As for your vision, it will only happen if it fulfills Dharma, which may involve not just wandering, wondering, and writing. Maybe you have greater service to do, a larger life to live, and a greater Group work beyond anything you've imagined before now. Vedanta may have prepared you for greater realizations beyond anything Vedanta can offer. I know of such things through direct experience. Jupiter on your Sun will open doors, but you'll have to get up and greet the Friend. But again, to explore more of these things would be waaaay beyond a comment stream.

Hi Robert, I've got the Sun 13°in Aquarius, Asc 1° Leo and a stellium in Pisces: Venus 1°-Mars 8°- Jupiter 11°. I'm already quite mystical, how do you see this influence. Thank you I admire your knowledge.
Posted by: szerabnordun | July 06, 2009 at 02:56 PM
Hi szerabnordun - You need to use your visionary power to benefit others. I also have Leo rising and Jupiter in Pisces in the 8th. Your compassion/ambivalence/procrastination will go through many adjustments as you learn to do tradeoffs with your world. Your life will begin to change in big ways in October, and by January you'll be backpedaling in one area while expanding radically in others. You'll be on track by March.

robert,
new to your site but been reading and learning quite a bit.
the jupiter neptune conjunction will be on my ascendant from mid december to january. what do you that entails for me (been quite worried lately, don't know why)?
Posted by: thatdude | September 05, 2009 at 01:07 AM
Hi thatdude - Welcome to the cantina. It's actually already been on your Asc for quite a while. It'll just get focused late this year and early Jan. Should be a great healing/liberation. Worried can come from all kinds of other things - not Jupiter conjunct Chiron and Neptune in Aquarius! You stood at the threshold of a new 12 year cycle of activity last June. That's what will pick up later this year through Feb 2010.
Posted by: Robert | September 07, 2009 at 01:24 PM
hi robert,
thanks for the welcome, love your site!
I must say that every time Jupiter conjuncts my ascendant it always starts a new life for me (literally). from changing careers to changing residency in different continents!
I also had Saturn conjunct my natal pluto which may be the source of my worries.
my birth info - May 24, 1969, 11:45 PM Manila Phil. currently residing in the US (see how I said changing conintinents! LOL!)
not only is Jupiter conjuncting my ascendant which (I am quite certain) would mean a whole new life for me again, but I'm also about to go through Uranus square, Neptune square in the next few months as well!
to say that I am both worried and excited is an understatement! mid-life is here and the excitement of the unknown is great, but the idea that the unknown is about to enter my life is for me a little worriesome!
I'd appreciate any input you might have on the current transits that I will be having.
Posted by: thatdude | September 09, 2009 at 07:52 PM
Hi thatdude - Yes, Jupiter conjunctions open major doors and adventures. All we have to do is follow through! Age 40 turns you inward on a quest for deeper or more effective compassion and understanding. You should have clarity in Dec 2009.
Saturn trine your Sun is a stabilizing force. Your prog Mars is about to go direct, and will be trined by Mars in late Oct-early Nov, then again for late Jan 2010 through April 2010. Tr Mars will also trine or tredecile your Venus from late October through January in a Grand Fire Trine with natal Mars. Very inspired time! Saturn is helping you structure your Jupiter conjunct Pluto in a form of work or service through Summer 2010. Adjust and make sacrifices of whatever when Saturn quincunxes your Saturn.
Posted by: Robert | September 15, 2009 at 09:07 AM
Robert,
Thank you very much for your analysis on current transits for me!
I am familiar with the trines and I am aware of the Saturn trine Sun. I also know that I will have a Pluto trine saturn in a few months as well as a Pluto trine moon a couple of months after that - not a true grand trine but close enough.
from what little I know of astrology I did not fully understand all of the trines that are occuring or are about to occur for me. getting confirmation from a teacher like you (such knowledgeable people like yourself are to be bestowed the honorable title of "teacher" in my culture) is such a delight and truly a confidence booster!
thank you for sharing your knowledge through this site.

Hi!
thought your readers might be interested in a few thoughts on the upcoming 2010/11 Jupiter/Uranus conjunctions:

Greetings from Scottish astrologer Anne Whitaker, author of "Jupiter meets Uranus" published this spring 2009 by the American Federation of Astrologers - a research study of the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction of 1997 set in its historical and mythological context.

Hi robert i will be glad to see the back of Jupiter in Aquarius im feb 1st 1962 around 9pm london and this year has been the worst year of my life, graham
Posted by: Graham | November 15, 2009 at 11:27 AM
Hi Graham - Jupiter may or may not bring comfortable conditions, but it usually indicates an opening by a being to a wider view of things. And truly, Jupiter on your Sun began a 12 year adventure/quest. 47 turns us inward, seeking new forms of compassion or understanding. Next year much will culminate, and you'll finish whatever you've been doing since your 20s.
Pluto on your Moon semisquare your Jupiter has no doubt transformed your life, and Saturn in Libra should bring stabilization and understanding for many months to come. You were born during one of the most remarkable vintages of the 20th century, and have an exceptional destiny should you choose to embrace it.
Get clear about your priorities, take an unusual view of things, be more adaptable, and learn how to give things a nudge so they prove in your continued interests. That way you won't fall into drifting off in odd directions. You have remarkable executive abilities and are now unhitched from old ways no longer effective for what you're moving into. Now that Jupiter has returned to your Jupiter and is moving forward, you're on the way. Just open the door and greet the guest(s)!

Robert,
a lot has happened in my life these past few weeks and it is literally "liberation" as you've stated!
first, I was offered a new job within the same company. a job that will involve lots of hard work (which I do not mind at all) but gives me a chance to renew everything in my career.
my old position has been a real downer for me since it has stagnated my career (even though it was management level) and has been a source of big "headaches."
two weeks ago, I was offered to head a new project within the company. it involves bringing in computer jobs that has been outsourced by our company the past few years. since it has been outsourced, I would have to build a new team. I can literally hand picked the people that would work for me and right now, I am actually able to help a friend that was laid off by our company a couple of years ago to get re-hired. he has been out of work for a long time and now, I can hire him back and give him long term employment.
this project also involves lots of travel in the beginning, I've only gotten back from traveling and there could be overseas travel involved with this project as well.
needless to say, I am looking at the rebirth of my career and the possibility of gaining accolades at work if the project goes well. this project also has the potential to earn our company millions of dollars more in the next few years as we market it to various states.
I am excited with my new position. excited at the rebirth of my career, and thankful for my liberation from an old position at work that caused stagnation and stress in the last few years.

Hi thatdude - Sounds like the Scorpio season truly helped you regenerate in very positive ways! This is probably somewhat related to the eclipse positions past indicating all of us could in some life area "escape from a narrow destiny." Congrats.
