Yesterday we covered general concepts about the squares being made by planets in Gemini to the Saturn in Virgo opposition Uranus in Pisces, and the Sun's influence in kicking this series into motion. The Solar squares are going on now through the Summer Solstice. Today's we'll look at the other T-squares to come.
As noted yesterday, the Solar squares are most influential for those with planets or sensitive points near 16 and 27 degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces due to where Saturn and Uranus are in their respective signs. Humor and a larger vision are required to "break on through to the future."
This is yielding confrontations demanding new inspirations assisting the release of locked-up power, and a need not to fall into distress at not knowing what's coming. It's also a culmination point of an old way producing a yearning for larger things where we may demonstrate our genius or uniqueness in original ways.
Though Saturn in mid-Virgo and Uranus in late Pisces are still about 11 degrees from their exact opposition, now that Saturn is direct in motion we'll be feeling the opposition effects until late October 2009 and again in Spring 2010. The rest of the time over the next 2 years they'll still be in opposition, but out of sign or from Saturn in Libra to Uranus in Aries.
Over the next few months, T-squares will be made by Mercury, Venus, and Mars as they transit Gemini, with the Moon giving form each time it goes through Gemini or Sagittarius. These Summer squares are very important, since they help us integrate and release energies of the opposition productively.
Regarding these T-squares, the closer the opposition gets, the narrower the time lag between the Saturn square influence and the Uranus square influence, and the narrower span of degrees affected, though these will feel the squares more intensely. Thus the Sun is a wide range but not closely linked, whereas Mars will T-square with the narrowest range.
The Summer squares are the last "integrated" T-squares for awhile. Saturn will have already moved into Libra by the time the inner planets transit Sagittarius this year, and from Nov 2009 through Feb 2010 Saturn and Uranus will be very far apart and out of sign. I'll explain more how that will work tomorrow.
Mercury's T-square operates in late June and early July. It squares Saturn June 26 at 17 Gemini and Virgo, and squares Uranus July 1-2 at 27 Gemini and Pisces. This will help blow up and blow out old pent-up energies that will help us regenerate and become more "whole." These are mental-transformative energies that will refine us and help us live more spiritually, coming out of old doubts, worries, and narrow points of view so we can express our originality and genius better.
Venus' T-square begins just before the Solar Eclipse at 7:35 pm PDT July 21 (3:35 am Greenwich July 22). I'll compose more on that eclipse in early July. Venus first squares Saturn that day at 19 Gemini and Virgo and then squares Uranus July 28-29 at 27 Gemini and Pisces.
This Venusian T-square will help us demonstrate new values and likes, capturing new substance and ways of relating that we see is important in doing our originality. This is about a fundamental reorientation in view based in a deeper wisdom being transmitted to us. The yearning for repolarization at the fulfillment of the old cycle will still be there, and a form of friendly competitive cooperation may be required so that survival issues are addressed.
When Mars makes its T-square, all that was vitalized (Sun), examined and considered (Mercury), valued and captured (Venus) will be activated into life as either an aggravation or an efficient method of doing our genius. Mars squares Saturn August 10-11 at 21 Gemini and Virgo and then squares Uranus August 18-19 at 26 Gemini and Pisces.
The Mars T-square shows the need for learning through imitation and a greater hope leading to spiritual expansion. Avoid those who refuse to grow in Spirit. This is a training exercise that will show us when to back off or not push things, as well as what we should not take for granted.
We'll definitely see the bare bones of things, as well as how we may need to go our own way. A greater dedication beckons as we'll be led out into a new world of transcendent activity where we must learn to serve with attention and humility.
After this period, there will be no more T-squares to the opposition (except by the Moon) until May 2010 when Venus again returns to late Gemini and makes a very tight Mutable T-square. By the time the Sun and Mercury make their squares, the opposition will be out of sign due to Uranus' entry into Aries.
I'll explain more about the in-sign and out-of-sign T-squares made in 2010-2011 tomorrow.

Hi Robert,
Firstly, thanks so much for your great hard work and for sharing your gifts of insight to the rest of us 'mere mortals'! I try to read and learn and apply your knowledge as best I can, but now and again it's too much for my untrained brain to take in!
Of late my chart seems to be being 'peppered' with hits, so I'm hoping for some enlightenment! (but fully understand if my request is far too specific to be of use to others and best left alone).
The recent new moon hit my natal sun at 4 gem and I interviewed (really well, I think!) for a job on my birthday, May 26th. The job involves moving overseas to work in educational reform, which I find a very exciting prospect; although I haven't had the final go ahead, I have been asked to get all my paperwork in order. I have 11 can asc and 5 aries moon, both of which have been mentioned in recent posts and now I see that I have T-squares approaching my ven 16 gem and mars 15 vir; born in '65, my saturn is at 16 pis and NN is 13 gem rx. There's certainly lots of potential on the horizon of my life at the moment; could it be that the ven/mars square could help bring some of this potential to fruition? I'm not exactly sure how ven (in 12th) and mars (in 4th) could be tied up in a career move. Is there a link, d'you think? (ok, so I couldn't resist the rhyme!) Any pearls of wisdom gratefully received!
Arohanui, Maggie (Auckland) :)

Hi Maggiemac - You're most welcome. Just keep plugging away, and eventually you'll realize you know more than you thought! Congrats on the interview. Educational reform is potentially a great field, given the current systems usually don't work very well, if at all, regardless of what country we're in. It would seem like the transits mirror what's happening in your chart. You were born with a Mutable T-square, and the Sag void shows teaching or anything overseas is a good solution for whatever gear grinds that T-square represents. Saturn on your Mars in the 4th would indicate new home, new ways of relating to land and family, as well as memories of early life. Saturn square Venus shows you're rewriting your address book, and learning to get along without things and people who no longer accurately symbolize who you are and what you like at this time in your life. In any case, best of luck at this crucial juncture of the larger Saturn cycle in your life!!

Hi Robert,
You said that Mercurys T-squares to Saturn/Uranus will blow-up and out old pent-up energies,
and at the same time, end of June, Scorpios are being "tested" to not get aggravated, avoid unnecessary
confrontations, impulsive people. I have an SNode Aries 2 and POF 12 Aries, and I have been very
re-active in my past, so Im wondering...if this energy is somthing I am going to feel as an inner
conflict, or outer? And will I have to use my will to manifest it, or supress it?
I have had dreams of "explosions in the water" there were bombs being dropped in the water,
which I was in, and I was under it with a straw above the water to breathe.....
Im suppose to be moving to my Libra NNode, of grace, charm, kindness, disspassion, calm, and I guess
let go of the Aries directness, impulsiveness, abruptness...so am I suppose to
go with this energy or is it "old energy" that is dying?
Grasias Senor...

Hi WHR - It may or may not arise, depending on your level of awareness and detachment from old patterns. Scorpio is actually benefited now through Uranus and Saturn, even though Venus and Mars are opposed, since it forms a rectangle where every opposition can be turned to multiple productive understandings. Glad you have the reed to breathe through as the bombs go off "up there." I don't look at the SN as something you can release, since it's the sum total of evolutionary tendencies already evolved up to now. More like "show what you know" energies. De nada, mi buscador para verdad.

Hi Robert,
My chart is being hit on so many sides. Any suggestions? I've attached a link to my natal chart with transits and progressions.
Thanks,
Olivia

Hi Olivia - Being a professional, I prefer not to go to other sites to look at charts and then try to say something, since I have no idea as to your life or issues or how much astrology you do or do not know.
