This series deals with the numerous T-squares being made by planets to the on-going Saturn opposition Uranus in play for the next 2 years. T-squares integrate and release powerful energies wherever they fall.
In Gemini T-Squares to Saturn Opposition Uranus in June, July, August 2009 - Pt.1 - The Sun We discussed the way that the 2009 Summer squares from Gemini to Saturn opposition Uranus work, with a specific focus on the Sun. I discussed which generations are most affected by the Mutable squares, and why these are so potent despite the wide orb of the opposition at times.
In Gemini T-Squares to Saturn Opposition Uranus in June, July, August 2009 - Pt.2 - Mercury, Venus, and Mars I offered specifics about how the squares from these inner planets would work. We delved more deeply into the different nuances of the opposition and the numerous squares, with suggestions about the best way to use these very powerful energies in positive ways.
We now move into the long range view of the opposition and squares over the next two years. We pick up on some key points from the previous 2 articles:
Though Saturn in mid-Virgo and Uranus in late Pisces are still about 11 degrees from their exact opposition, now that Saturn is direct in motion we'll be feeling the opposition effects until late October 2009 and again in Spring 2010. The rest of the time over the next 2 years they'll still be in opposition, but out of sign or from Saturn in Libra to Uranus in Aries.
As I explained in Gemini T-squares Pt. 1, even when the orb of the opposition is very wide, when a planet moves through squares to the planets in opposition, it functions as a "time lag" T-square. This creates a situation where the energies are said to be "collected" by the planet which links everything together across the time span between the 2 squares.
Though the opposition is very wide, it can still function as a T-square due to the astrological principle called "collection of light." As I noted, "Collection of light" also has other applications in chart interpretation, but that's beyond the scope of these articles.
The principle of "collection" also works in a similar manner when planets are in close opposition, but in opposing signs. It does not really apply when out of sign planets are too far apart.
That's why the December 2009 squares from planets in Sagittarius will not truly constitute T-squares. For practical purposes these squares will operate more like 2 distinct squares than a T-square, with the first square in late Mutable signs and the second square in early Cardinal signs.
By late February 2010 Saturn and Uranus are again within close orb of opposition, but still out of sign. This continues through March. When the Moon squares Saturn and Uranus it will function as a T-square even though out of sign due to the tightness of orb.
The other major factor during this time span is that from November 2009 through April 2010 Saturn in Libra will be squaring Pluto in Capricorn, setting up Cardinal T-squares when planets move through early Aries throughout March 2010, throwing the void into early Cancer.
These will have an entirely different effect than the T-squares created by the Saturn opposition Uranus. By how we deal with the dynamic initiating Aries energies of March 2010, we'll learn how to manage the even more potent squares to come over 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013. These are kicked off in a big way through Jupiter conjunct Uranus in Aries opposed Mars conjunct Saturn in Libra with all square Pluto in July-August 2010.
A hint: pay close attention in late June, early July, early and late August, and early September 2009 for signals on skills we'll need to deal with what's coming Summer 2010. And, we'll all get another look at these skills in late May and again late June 2010, just before the fireworks of July and August that year.
Back to Saturn's dance with Uranus in 2010. In April 2010 Saturn retrogrades back into Virgo and stays in very tight opposition to Uranus at 29-30 Pisces through the end of May. During this 7 week period, we will see the revisiting for the last time of a Gemini T-square to the Virgo-Pisces opposition, confirming what we're learning now in the Summer of 2009. In mid-May 2010, Venus again returns to late Gemini and makes a very tight Mutable T-square.
This will be a time of leaving old lesser standards behind, finding an abundance perfectly suited to what we need, blending beauty and functionality, and getting a blessing that finalizes our "escape from a narrow destiny" set into motion by the Eclipses the past few years. You can find more about this "escape mechanism" in the archives.
By the time the Sun and Mercury make their squares in June 2010, the opposition will be out of sign due to Uranus' entry into Aries at the end of May 2010 just as Saturn goes stationary direct at 28 Virgo.
Uranus' entry into Aries will still feature a tight opposition even if it is out of sign. As noted earlier, even if the Sun and Mercury do make T-squares, they will work with radically different energies than the current Gemini T-squares.
The first Saturn in Libra opposed Uranus in Aries begins late July 2010 and lasts for a few weeks until Uranus retrogrades back into late Pisces for the last time. During that time there will be no T-squares made except by the Moon.
The opposition is already growing weaker by October 2010, and by the time the November-December 2010 planets could make T-squares, Saturn is already too far into the middle of Libra to be considered opposition to Uranus back at 27 Pisces.
The last possible inner planet T-squares to Saturn opposition Uranus will be in late June through mid-July 2011 by Mercury, Sun, and Venus moving from 5-12 degrees of Cancer, creating a Cardinal T-square throwing the void into Capricorn. These integrative energies will be activated by Mars in August 2011.

Hi, Robert. My North Node is in Libra. My ASC in Virgo. How is Saturn's move into Libra likely to color my chart? Thanks, Anne

Hi AnneTexas - You have been restructuring your self image, and are no doubt more disciplined and mature than you were even a few years ago. Saturn structures whatever it touches. NN is line of greatest evolutionary development. You'll find more evolved ways of living your grace, balance, and justice. You may find your way of being with others as an equal is changing as well.
