Well, it's happening NOW! Today Mars enters Cancer, Mercury enters Libra while slowing down preparing to go retrograde on Sept 6-7, and they are exactly square late today (early tomorrow everywhere east of EDT). Mercury and Mars will both afflict Pluto tomorrow, just as Venus enters Leo. What does this mean?
I covered a lot of what we can expect in the articles Astrology in mid-to-late August 2009 - Two Major T-Squares Showing Upheaval, Shifts, Reorientations, and Emergent Possibilities - Pt. 1 and its companion piece here. These can offer an in-depth look at elements of this very dynamic time and what these configurations imply for all of us.
Today we will explore other elements of these squares and oppositions from an entirely different angle. Though Mercury usually moves quickly through its aspects to other planets, because it's slowing down in motion and will retrograde while still square Pluto, this time is actually merely the first of three waxing squares Mercury will make to Pluto. Thus it's safe to say the next few weeks will be dominated by this aspect.
Among the things to keep in mind are that it's a great time for busting lies and misconceptions, both past and present, as an entry vehicle into a new world of individuality. Mercury, Guide of Souls, is now showing us new archetypes, new ideals, new images of potential immortality that will be crystalized to whatever degree by Saturn as it also moves across the Critical Degree of 1 Libra between late October and early August 2010.
Mercury square Pluto also requires that we learn a proper conception in how we coordinate affairs so we can integrate potentials as we see them without letting limiting conditions throw us off our balance. It's a time to practice concentration, block out corrosive elements, and go deeper in our understanding and/or investigations. It's a good time for uncovering hidden things and pioneering seeds through independence of assessments and judgments.
The archetypes glimpsed here will have major implications through October as the inner planets give us more information about them. All of them will square Pluto from 1 Libra to 1 Capricorn, offering us a culmination point for whatever Plutonic processes were awakened in 2008. These are what Saturn will crystalize at various points in the next 11 months. As an aside, since Pluto is still very close to the Galactic Center, please consult the archives to learn more about this important point of global shifts that occurs every 250 years.
I discussed some of the groups that will be most affected by this set of squares in Part 1 linked above. Others most affected right now include those born 1927 and early 1928, Mar-May 1929, Dec 29, Aug-Oct 30, Apr-May 37, Sep-Oct 37, Jan-Feb 38, Jan-Feb 42, Sep-Dec 42, Jan-Oct 43, Jun-Jul 44, Feb-Mar 45, Aug-Dec 48, Jun-Jul 49, Nov 50-Mar 51, Aug-Sep 51, Jan-Feb 59, Jun-Nov 59, Mar 60, May-Jun 60, Oct-Nov 60, Jun-Aug 66, Feb-Apr 67, Nov-Dec 67, Sep 68-Sep 69, Nov 70-Feb 71, Oct 71-Jun 74, Aug-Dec 77, Apr-May 78, Sep-Nov 80, Mar-Jul 81, Jan 84-Jan 87, Jul-Nov 87, Feb-Jun 88, Nov 88-Apr 90, and Aug-Oct 90.
Tomorrow we'll discuss the nature of what happens when several planets shift signs. It has implications for at least half of our charts, so stay tuned!

This Aries is feeling quite stimulated too although he's meditating over the meaning of this t-sq opposing his natal t-sq on Mercury at 30 Pisces.

Bone weary from 'Busting lies and misconceptions' from oceanic depths. Anticipating equinoctial storms and treading water through T Sat conj nat MC sq nat Mars. Its a long haul, the silence of the night being its prefered field of operation! The reward seems to be unexpected waves of compassion ebbing and flowing... in and out....

About those dates... Ah, but June 1954 is getting a pretty big hit too!! Pluto conjunct my Mars in Cap (opp. all my Cancer planets), and stuff just keeps happening to me and my family... I hope when Saturn makes his move into Libra that it won't be too hard to bear. I am very tired and scared, sorry to admit it. I have worked so hard to be strong and brave but don't feel so good right now. And I might have to have a tooth yanked out in Sept. (Saturn!) What else??
Robert, I sound like a silly little girl. And I'm 55 years old. I'll keep toughing it out I guess. Hope you and yours are fairing better...

Interesting to read this after the conversations of all that is, yet ignored and virtually unseen. This article explains why I have been wanting to rewrite past and present misconceptions... Scorpio Here!

Hello again Valerie, re-reading my comment and it looks so toe- curlingly condescending - sorry, put it down to insomnia. I hope that by now you're feeling a bit better,

I have 0º Lib Mars and 30º Sag Mercury, so this T-square strikes on two of my planets! And my Mars is in 8th house.
Also, both Saturn and Uranus square now my 26º Sag Sun!!!
This is one of the most intense moments of change of my life..

I would like to add, this moment became particularly intense during these last two weeks! So much new doors opening... but that Saturn slows me down.....

Morvah- it's okay, no harm done. communication seems to be at a premium. i just pissed off my favorite sister something awful and don't really know what i said. don't ever tell someone to "get over it", it might just push the wrong button... i'm taking one day at a time, everything must happen for a reason.
aum.....:)

Hi Cheryl - Everyone is confronting major shifts in direction and how they're dealing with what's emerging. Grinding can be painful, but in the end we wind up like faceted jewels.
Hi WarriorLady - Excellent. I have found that when the potential for tension or conflict is most extreme, energy can be focused directly and effectively. We just can't afford to lose our cool.....
Hi Matt - This is a critical emergent point in this part of your evolution. Perhaps your Mercury needs to get focused on what forms you want to see made manifest beginning when Saturn opposes your Sun. Definitely new responsibilities and maturity on the way!
Hi Morvah - Yes, many lies have been shredded recently. One advantage to living with integrity is that you seldom need to bust lies within you, since the process of self-realization shows us how to transcend illusions. As for others, though we can point out the obvious, ultimately THEY must take responsibility for their self- and other deceptions, change pattern, or suffer the consequences. Glad your sense of compassion is intensifying. It's sorely needed in our massively dysfunctional world.
Hi Sue Moon - Libras are all preparing for new authorship on whatever level they aspire to be. Some will be very pleased as they take responsibility, while others will most definitely see the end of long-held illusions.
Hi Juliet - The symbols for an opposition, when drawn in one way, is the infinity symbol. That shows that all oppositions are just poles of one area of life. Will email you tomorrow to firm things up.
Hi Valerie - It's not that all signs are equally affected by the T, though this is giving you a practice run for when Saturn disciplines your Mars. Could be good for gathering energy and using it wisely. 55 is a peak year, ushering in major new developments for you next Summer after Jupiter moves through Pisces and opens a world for you in Aries. And - usually when we must tell someone to "get over it" they really need to! Whether they like it or not...... That said, there are diplomatic ways to say it, and blunt ways to say it. I find that when someone freaks out when told that, it's their personality trying to control a message they desperately need to hear.
Hi Morvah - 1954 people have had to say goodbye to long held associations for all kinds of reasons. Again, though, wait until 2010, since that year will be a lot more open than the past period.
Hi Mike - You're closing in on a harvest that has kicked open doors you never dreamed of before now. When other things get unveiled the next few weeks, and you experience a new Solar Return, then you'll see some high profile action that can bring forth your nobility and heart strength. The first half of 2010 will be excellent for breaking into the higher realms!
Hi Beth - August 1967 was a great vintage to be born! It's been difficult with Saturn on your Venus, but you've learned a lot about why you like what you do or do not, and dropped many relationships that no longer accurately reflect who you have become. You will definitely be doing well by Spring 2010.
Hi Popplagid - You're definitely restructuring how you do what you do. This is helping you be more practical in your assessments, and reorganize what you need to in order to prepare for Saturn's entry into Libra. Continue to examine higher responsibilities, more important purposes for the next year. Follow the yearning, allow yourself to be protected, and let go of things you no longer need to bear. Saturn's been slowing me down as well, and it's been a good thing.
Hi Shanita - The entire year has been a bear, given the constant Saturn opposition Uranus! But you are learning what you can and cannot do, and finding a more mature and enjoyable self expression and forms of creativity and play. Look at the next 9 months as cleaning up residue, capturing rewards, and saying goodbye to old worries that cannot be solved by your worrying....

Hi Robert -
While reading a friend's chart the other day, I was thinking about this T-square and I realized something. The void of the t-square was also approximately where Venus went SD in April. Is there anything to glean from this - particularly as both Jupiter and Uranus will expand, shake up 30 Pisces just before 1 Aries.
Thank you,
