This Full Moon falls at 13 degrees Pisces-Virgo which will fulfill the seed of the past New Moon in Leo. A well defined See Saw pattern coupled with Mercury going stationary retrograde (RX) makes this a very important lunation. The Light will join with Saturn to illuminate new purposes and duties, while the Moon conjunct Uranus should bring forth innovative forms and needed closures.
This Full Moon falls on September 4, 9:03 am PDT, 12:03 pm EDT, 5:03 pm Greenwich. It occurs on September 5 in extreme East Asia. A quick look finds 14 Libra rising in Santa Monica, 17 Scorpio in Washington DC, 12 Capricorn in London, 16 Capricorn in Amsterdam, 15 Pisces in Johannesburg, 24 Aries in Istanbul, 6 Taurus in Trivandrum, 14 Taurus in New Delhi, 30 Taurus in Perth, 22 Gemini in Melbourne, and 10 Virgo rising on Maui.
Because the New Moon preceding the Full Moon always represents the seed forms that are brought to surface at and after the Full Moon, please check out The New Moon in Leo - What's Happening in August-September 2009. This can help focus what blessings and seeds are being offered to us in the near future.
This Full Moon falls at 13 degrees Pisces and Virgo. It is said that the middle third of any sign deals with the social levels of life, and being the second decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Cancer and Capricorn. Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take.
The Solar degree Sabian Symbol is "A Strong Hand Supplanting Political Hysteria." This is a degree where energies are transmuted through the power of the personality to articulate racial ideals. Rudhyar comments that it symbolizes "charisma" that focuses "the collective need for order... into a personage who incarnates the answer to this need."
So the Light will show as an ability to calm and inspire others, restoring emotional or social chaos to a form of order. Perhaps this shows a need to speak to the unconscious, personal or collective. Here personality is the vehicle for the Higher Mind focused through "voice" magnetism to exert control over the lower nature.
Dr. Jones says the keyword is POWER and when positive it's said to be a degree of "consistent effectiveness in dramatizing personal potentials." We find it is a degree of "the weight of human personality" as it intervenes in public affairs where drifting or confusion has set in. Stating "The greatest opportunity for self-discovery lies in the transient crises of everyday living," this symbol provides us all a corrective in our personal and interpersonal affairs.
The formula is Sustaining, Practical, Efficient, Specializing, Spiritual and Receptive. Rudhyar states the degree is in the Span of Idealization, and the Individual-Mental level of Characterization.
The Lunar degree symbol is "A Sword in a Museum." It speaks of the "courage and fearlessness needed in the quest for spirit and real understanding." We are told we need faith in ourselves, while examining any feelings of emptiness or dread.
We are reminded that our Will is our ultimate Spiritual weapon, and used with Love, Wisdom, and Intelligence in an action focusing the greater good we serve as examples for others to follow in their own way and time. This symbolizes the ability to become a symbol of courage that certifies our Spiritual worth.
Dr. Jones says the keyword is EXAMPLE and when positive it's said to be a degree of "personal power in living common ideals." The form of the light of this Full Moon will involve the influence of our predecessors, and how wisdom incarnates as new leadership that counters confusion and uncertainty. Here we are encouraged by examples of past greatness in whatever realm to become one ourselves for those who will follow.
The formula is Sustaining, Practical, Universal, Specializing, Spiritual, and Receptive. Rudhyar states the degree is in the Span of Innocence, in the Individual-Mental level of Federation.
From these symbols it seems we can experience ours and/or others' magnetism in ways that helps to focus anything that is not in order. The form will involve courage in focusing will on behalf of a greater good. Power will take form as Example related to wherever this falls in the birth chart.
Especially as it accents the close Saturn opposition Uranus, we should be able to see the Light of Saturn that helps us integrate our two power planets in a practical form. Since Virgo involves "training for discipleship," then there should be great benefits for adopting long term Spiritual disciplines.
The illuminated Saturn lessons involve challenges to maintain our innocence, overcome preconceptions regarding distinctions, and find a "vibrant simplicity" in fresh views freed from old intellectual traps. The Sun can vitalize our "Spirit-born imagination" so we can play with ideas and note their interconnectedness.
Moon conjunct Uranus in Pisces helps us find compassion, as well as deep feeling-knowledge, around that which is ending or has been drifting or irresolute. The form is in the same sign as the Individualizer, offering unique forms of whatever Pisces energies need focusing.
Right now Uranus helps all to find ways to do their own thing in their own way at the end of a long period. We can finally understand the harmonics of how our values play together and separately, and through hearing the "inner call to realization," we can find new meaning in our lives and path to Truth.
The lunation is about the light of practical adjustments externalizing in opportunities to show courage and focus in a greater good. Expect individualizing experiences with like-minded beings related to your Ray work in obscure or fogged conditions that show you how to use your will according to a greater model. This is distributive Earth (practicality) taking form through distributive Water (feelings).
Since it is a See Saw pattern, stay centered, and try not to get lost in the margins even while exploring the outer limits of the field. This time can bring new feelings that can serve long term purposes. Try to find the way to mediate between opposing views by finding the third or fourth points that harmonize the opposites.
Every planet except Mercury is in a forming or separating opposition, showing lots of potential for awareness along the Cancer-Capricorn axis (Mars sep. opposed Pluto), the Leo-Aquarius axis (Venus in wide forming opposition to the Aquarius stellium), and the Virgo-Pisces axis, already discussed.
Given the aspects and positions, expect unique circumstances that will bring forth seeds of future power and situations where they will sprout into forms of authority in our lives. The next two weeks will bring major reorientations and decisions of alignment, as well as productive contacts.
We'll definitely see the results of previously held ideals, what we formulated, for good or ill. What shows up will depend on how diligent we were in dealing with the thought form being built, consciously or unconsciously. For some, a turning of epic proportions. For others, long awaited rewards from Spirit. Joy will be a major factor in knowing what's happening to us individually.
Mercury (ruling the Sun and Saturn) in its final square to Mars in this season indicates we'll need to re-adjust how we are or are not taking care of what we need. There is a need for personal initiative and organized purification.
This puts the focus on much of what we'll be experiencing or understanding in new ways in mid to late September when Mercury RX and the Sun both square Pluto. This gives us a heads up on what we will encounter by the second week of October when Mercury again moves through early Libra, crossing all of these degrees again. I'll explain more in a future article.
This should mostly be a benign lunation period, even if strong disciplines must be adopted. The edge will be sharpest for those with planets around 4-9 Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn. However, this will quicken so much in our lives anyway, it's a great opportunity to be practical and swift in our assessments.
Be alert to quick decisions that divert or distract, unrealistic ideals, acting in ways that we really don't care about, or avoiding taking responsibility for securing our personal needs. Also be aware of tendencies to idle speculation, wishful thinking, and superficial dedications that are not your true concern.
We will all need to find an "adequate motive" for our initiatives so the results will be what we want, and learn how to recognize opportunities we could develop into major chances. This can benefit all with planets in early Taurus, Gemini, Leo, Virgo, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Aquarius, and Pisces, so more will be benefited than challenged.
These are the qualities of the Full Moon, which should help us express whatever new directions we were shown at the New Moon. You will recall its late Leo theme requires that we find "sustainment in a larger whole of being," and a happy collective self-expression. We are finding new interpretations, new releases, and new energy.
Briefly, from the New Moon article covering this time,
This lunation is the last one in which Saturn will play a part of Grand Irrationality, since it triseptiles Neptune even though it has moved out of the biseptile to Pluto. (More at this link.) This will bring a sense of finality to the choices we've been making since September 2008 when it first entered the pattern. And, as Saturn was part of the pattern during the recent eclipses, we will continue to deal with those lessons for some time to come, even as it moves completely out of the pattern by transit. Also, in this Lunation Saturn occupies the exact degree of its RX station last December. This also brings finality to the lessons, adjustments, and disciplines we've been dealing with since then in order to know what long range venerable standards we'll be living in the future....
Saturn is moving through the end of Virgo between now and late October, when it will enter Libra. Until then, we are finishing our education in emotional-social and individual-spiritual lessons and trials of doing "the Great Work." We can now experience our "bottom line" issues in a new context based in ways we've begun to live the past 8 months. Just remember that for a long time to come, everything connected to the Saturn lessons in our lives is challenging our ability to deal with the long wave ongoing Saturn opposition Uranus. They are now 4 degrees apart and closing.
This very powerful pattern is revolutionizing our lives and forcing us to adjust, learn, practice, and be very realistic in training for something that is to come. The polarization can assist us in building a new interactive yet protected existence if we embrace needed adjustments, conform to a plan, and do whatever it takes to live the higher standard we believe is worthy....
Among other lessons: search for your place of greatest service, keep the initiative despite headwinds, find ways of expressing yourself more effectively, get behind inhibitions, and be practical in seeing what works and what doesn't. Follow the yearning for extended experience in "distant lands," be skillful in displaying your enthusiasm while taking nothing for granted, and allow a new perspective or rhythm of expression to adjust old habits in action, thought, and feeling.
... Some will be "flooded with new ideas and new possibilities," so enjoy whatever "lightness of feeling" you are able to experience after so many months of striving to come to your particular form of light.
This degree synthesizes the energies of Soul and personality fusion with realizations of new ideas and forms to achieve release of those spiritual impulses. This is a point of taking ideas out into the social realm, powered by Soul magnetism, to achieve a new individual-mental form of spiritual expression....
Find your true concerns which move you to serving others' needs appropriately. Through an intuitive understanding of what is ending and the enduring elements of deeper wisdom, find a fresh grasp of your Soul's needs, move into a higher vision, a "quiet inner strength," and a calm objectivity.
This is the final phase of claiming a form of collective power and an enduring vision. We are still growing toward doing a work that will outlive us, so bring your unique gifts into practical usefulness, move from theory to accomplishment, and see how various steps all work together within a larger vision.
Say goodbye to whatever is hindering your individuation or courage in focusing your energies to express your Higher Self. Through the light of Divine Innocence, allow your life to be restructured in practical ways to get beyond glamor and preconceptions and be sensitive to the potential for joy to arise. Embrace the unique gifts that will come as we truly shift direction and reorient toward that which stabilizes our Spiritual Self as the director of our personality.

Dear Robert:
Yesterday I had an communication from an old acquaintance and heard news which helped to heal many old pains from the past. Realized how what I had gone through couple of years back actually helped to built my foundations spiritually, professionally and led me to something which was more in line with my value system.
This universe does have a way of communicating to us what is right and what is wrong for us - and sometimes it does so by introducing painful situations which propel us out of our comfort zone into something far more superior and apt for us.
The wisdom on this site helps to keep the perspective during difficult times.Keep up the good work.
Regards,
Mani

Hi bethincary - Well, I figure there are many different ways a lunation can demonstrate. Much has to do with our ability to find the right point of view relative to the energies involved. For one, squares and the like can mean major difficulties. For another, the chance to shift gears, or change directions, steering the ship of personality in more profitable directions. "Jittery" energies are certainly in the air, with Mercury square Mars and Saturn opposed Uranus. Plenty heavy enough with just those two!
Hi Mani - Always good to heal ancient wounds so we don't carry cellular memory and karmas into the future. Very good that you can connect the dots to how these pains have contributed to true spiritual growth, since you're getting a larger view of your karma and "hero's journey." And yes, it's no big deal to cruise when things are easy. Greatest growth comes from accelerating karma, chewing it up, transforming it from substance to wisdom, and seeing a greater process. As a great Master once said, "Nothing great was ever created in comfort." While it's nice to rest from time to time, ever the Path beckons, with challenges that help us become greater Consciousnesses than we ever imagined.
Hi Chickie - You should be doing quite well now that you have a new Solar Return. Glad you're hanging in there and the supposed "great quake" did NOT hit your parts. Just goes to show ya can't trust scuttlebutt....

Reading this, I am thinking about the health care debate that has been on going the past few months. Finally President Obama is taking the initiative to steer the issue. This is very much a Virgo - Pieces issue. It is time to lay aside the divisions. We all need medical care at some time in our lives. If a person is uninsurable due to some major illness, but able to pay some kind of deductible than let them buy into a public plan according to their income. It should be a no brainer that by reducing emergency room visits we all benefit.
On the other hand I will see what occurs before the next full moon as this one fell on my sun directly.

We had a particularly powerful Full Moon Meditation last weekend with our Full Moon Group here in the Sacred Black Hills of South Dakota. Amoung other things we read and discussed Robert's article "Thoughts on walking the path of hastened attainment." I might suggest that any of Robert's articles are great fodder for group discussion. If you are not part of a group, just start one. It is easy. Just ask some friends over for dinner then strike up a conversation. The time of the lone wolf is over.
Then my wife and I journeyed to the Great Stupa of Dharmakaya at the Shambala Retreat Center one hour north of Fort Collins, Co, in the Rocky Mountains. It is honoring the Venerable Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche. This awesome place is open to the public. It is truly life changing and inspiring. Please go there if you ever are in Northern Colorado. It is free to visit and open year round.
Finally, apropo of the Virgo/Pisces Full Moon the good folks at Souledout.org remind us:
"Service is it's own Reward."
Much Love to all Sentient Beings.

Hi William - Yes, the entire polarization can be seen in the Saturn in Virgo opposition Uranus in Pisces. I believe the necessity of a properly structured health insurance regulation is Saturn, while the rebellious, deceptive willful obstructionists are Uranus. This lunation falling on your Sun puts the focus there for two weeks.
Ultimately, we MUST lay aside our divisions if we are to mitigate the disastrous lack of affordable public health care in the US today. Too much suffering, too much impoverishment, too much fear and uncertainty. These are ingredients for a long term public disaster and the collapse of our nation through disease and debt. I agree that we need a universal coverage so that our ERs aren't unnecessarily clogged. Since they are funded by taxpayer money anyway, we wouldn't lose anything there.
Hi dcu - I meant to thank you for posting that piece from "At the Feet of the Master." It put me on a quest, and now it's in the Metaphysical Links on the left side of the page. We just never know what we're setting into motion by our offerings....
Glad the meditations continue to produce good results. Figured the article on "Hastened Attainment" might be good grist for the mill of Soul. Glad you found something rousing in it. I agree starting any productive form of collective activity is good. Dinners are indeed a great place for conversations, as long as they don't create indigestion!;-) (Some topics are like that.)
Definitely agree that the time of the lone wolf is over. Great that you made pilgrimage to the Great Stupa, and thanks for letting readers know where it is and what the deal is there. Tens of thousands of prayers offered by Truth seeking Souls can't be wrong! Thanks also for the reminder of service, since that's the way we demonstrate our awareness of our Oneness.
