This Full Moon falls at 11 degrees Aquarius-Leo, which fulfills the seed of the past Solar Eclipse New Moon in Capricorn. This period will help us productively consolidate through asserting our deeper, subtle personality strengths. Just remember revolution is in the air, as well as a sense of relief that we've "made it through the night."
This visionary and creative Full Moon falls on 29 January at 10:18 pm PST, 30 January 1:18 am EST, 6:18 am Greenwich. A quick look finds 13 Libra rising in Santa Monica, 8 Libra rising in Vancouver, 16 Scorpio in Washington DC, 11 Capricorn in Rio, 11 Capricorn in London, 15 Capricorn in Amsterdam, 25 Capricorn in Berlin, 27 Capricorn in Tallinn, 1 Pisces in Istanbul, and 14 Pisces in Johannesburg.
Moving into Asia and the Pacific, we find the Ascendants to be 13 Taurus in New Delhi, 6 Taurus in Trivandrum, 2 Gemini in Bangkok, 19 Gemini in Hong Kong, 20 Cancer in Tokyo, 29 Taurus in Perth, 21 Gemini in Melbourne, 4 Cancer in Brisbane, 16 Cancer in Wellington, and 10 Virgo rising on Maui.
Because the New Moon preceding the Full Moon always represents the seed forms that are brought to surface at and after the Full Moon, please check out The Solar Eclipse at 26 Capricorn January 14-15, 2010 - Where Does It Fall and Who Is Affected? along with the companion article The Solar Eclipse at 26 Capricorn January 14-15, 2010 - What Are Its Effects for Different Signs and Generations? These articles can help focus what blessings and seeds are being released in the world over the next two weeks.
This continues a pattern of the recent few months where the Full Moon falls in a different sign than the previous New Moon. This implies that this 2 week period of fruition of the seeds of the previous lunation in many ways anticipates what is to come. That is because the Sun sign of this Full Moon will also be the sign of the coming New Moon on February 13, 2010, at 26 Aquarius (which happens to be the Neptune of this Full Moon!)
This phenomenon of the Full Moon being in a subsequent sign than the previous New Moon indicates that what is released as realizations in the Full Moon period actually "prepare the ground" for the coming New Moon seed. Strange reversal of function, since you would think the New Moon provides the seed for the next Full Moon. But this set of lunations works the opposite way.
For astrologers who may be interested, we last had New Moons in the same sign axis as the subsequent Full Moon May 2008 through June 2009. Beginning July 2009 and lasting through September 2010, we have the Sun of the Full Moon in the sign following the Sun of the New Moon.
Another way to look at this is the Sun sign of the Full Moon is the same as and precedes the Sun sign of the next New Moon, reversing the usual way lunations work. So the fulfillment of the Full Moon sets up the next "seed" to be revealed at the next New Moon. We will again have the Sun of the New Moon in the same sign as the Sun in the following Full Moon from October 2010 through May 2012, after which it again reverses function.
This Full Moon falls at 11 degrees Leo and Aquarius. It is said that the middle third of any sign deals with the social levels of life, and being the second decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Sagittarius and Gemini. Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take.
The Solar degree Sabian Symbol is "Man tete-a-tete with his inspiration." This is a degree of creative power, and "its relationship to social behavior," and "self-crystallization in a form of power." We are told this symbolizes "the need to rely upon inner inspiration and guidance at the start of new developments."
Rudhyar says this degree is one of "keeping open to the descent of spiritual or Soul forces, especially when a new period of individual activity is about to begin." We are told not to depend on outer circumstances or incentives, but to get out of our own way and allow a creative power to flow through us.
Dr. Jones says the keyword is ECSTASY and when positive it's said to be a degree of "enthusiastic idealism and a tireless desire to serve others." So this Full Moon will demonstrate the light of our creative inspiration at the threshold of a new period of activity.
We are told this degree is one of "satisfaction in the transcendental experiences of selfhood," where we are told to "act continually in personal self-interest, and to translate every vision into practical consummation." Here we can see and accept an "overshadowing of a universal life and order" to demonstrate our special qualities and strive anew to express an individual achievement.
The formula is Manipulating, Ideal, Ingenious, Specializing, Spiritual and Experimental. Rudhyar states the degree is in the Span of Defensiveness, in the Individual-Mental level of Contribution.
The Lunar degree symbol is "Children on a swing in a huge oak tree." This is a degree where we find "the sustaining and protective power of ancestral background" and "appreciation of inborn cultural restraint."
Rudhyar comments that this phase is where we see "the power of tradition as it shelters the beginnings of individual self-expression," where we can play with feelings, ideas, words, and concepts which attach to a tradition. Here we demonstrate the release of emotional intensity at various levels of individual consciousness as we discover new mental potentials.
Dr. Jones says the keyword is DELIGHT and when positive it's said to be a degree of "a consistent zest for every possible phase of living and a real generosity of self-expenditure." We find it is a degree of "satisfaction in the normal exercise of selfhood" and the "dependability exhibited" by what sustains us socially and physically. We are told that it is a degree of "refreshment of the spirit" through developing our responsibilities to manifest it, and that as we accept the "overshadowing of a universal life and order" we will achieve a better conception of our personal reality.
The formula is Manipulating, Ideal, Original, Specializing, Spiritual and Experimental. Rudhyar states the degree is in the Span of Assurance, and the Individual-Mental level of Combustion.
From these symbols it seems we can see the light of our creativity leading us to transcendental experiences that will express in life events showing us how to play with ideas and delight in exploring greater ways to live through giving wholeheartedly of ourselves. We will see a greater vision of how we may contribute to bringing a universal life to form, and playfully find enthusiasm and idealism in ways that serve our world.
Here we illuminate and integrate a greater vision of self within a group work or form of world service and figure out where our heart is at so we can demonstrate it in a creative form. We can see the light of our group, which will bring forth new creative or playful forms of self expression. This period will stabilize the new initiatives of the recent Capricorn New Moon Solar Eclipse.
There are several major aspects showing "fork in the road" energies at work. We see the Moon septile Saturn, a turning point in how our personal and professional inclinations relate to each other; we also have Moon triseptile Mercury and Mercury biseptile Saturn, putting the coordinating principle at turning points to our habits, feelings, limitations, and responsibilities.
These three planets rule the Gemini, Cancer, Virgo, Capricorn, and Aquarius sectors and planets in our charts, and place these at a hard edge of choice and change relative to each other. Clearly how our feelings, interpretations, and fears or personal authority relate within us will shift direction, or at least become clear through deciding to maintain the status quo in these areas.
Also of importance is Mars triseptile Jupiter while sextile Saturn, also a turning point between the Aries/Scorpio sectors and planets relative to our Sagittarius/Pisces sectors and planets. However, Mars sextile Saturn for many weeks to come should provide us very productive opportunities to use Leo energies blended with Libra energies to use heart power in productive balancing or equalization in the Leo-Libra areas of our chart.
Another important aspect is the Moon opposed Venus, challenging us to externalize deep and subtle aspects of our personality and not allow ourselves to be maneuvered out of perfectly good opportunities by failing to assert ourselves. Follow the spontaneity as you confront weirdness and find a relief in transfiguration following the realization that you've "made it through the night." Many will know they've been tested and succeeded in moving into new levels of heart expression.
Jupiter is quincunx Saturn while sextile Pluto, offering hints about the Yods, or "Fingers of God," that will occur in early February involving Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto. These show many will experience multiple interlocking "expansion through sacrifice" energies, with a lot of productivity driving forced "hard adjustments" that will squeeze out all that is not useful to our expanding spiritual awareness. I'll compose more on these over the next two weeks.
To note, separating aspects show things that have already happened in the past, which is why I don't stress them in these lunation chart evaluations. Included among the separating aspects are Sun and Venus opposed Mars, Moon-Mars sesquisquare Uranus, Sun-Venus trine Saturn, Sun semisquare Uranus, Mercury quintile Uranus, and Mercury triseptile Mars. All of these show things that occurred before now.
Mercury semisquare Jupiter shows that whatever ideas or interpretations are challenged are those we cannot use during this time of depth wisdom and enhanced dream techniques shown by Jupiter in Pisces. There will be various exercises showing us what is transitory and what is indestructible. It puts certain Gemini and Virgo affairs in disintegration mode relative to our Sagittarius and Pisces affairs.
Since Saturn rules the lunation, the dominant aspect in this Full Moon is the ongoing Saturn square Pluto. I've explained how this very powerful frictional aspect works in many articles over the past several months. If you're wondering how the Saturn square Pluto affects you, please check the archives to find out how various birthdays and generations are affected by this major aspect in play for many months to come.
The squares release energies, challenge us to "square" ourselves with our true Self, or create friction allowing us to turn critical corners in the areas affected by the square. This major square affecting the entire world is most dynamically affecting those with planets in early Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn, as well as 18-22 degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius.
It will obviously most affect those born in late March, mid-May, late June, mid-August, late September, mid-November, late December, and mid-February. This aspect challenges us to bring bring new structure to our life and purpose while a larger disintegration is happening, get oriented to overcome any tendency to aimlessness or drifting, and by getting a profitable sense of direction, become a "pathfinder" or "one who shows the way" to others.
I cannot elaborate on how all the different aspects will affect each of us. Still, remember the septile series aspects will lead to more radical choices and changes that will propel those areas of our lives into a more defined destiny. Since we have septile series aspects that involve Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto, you may expect strange events in all areas ruled by the first five planets, as well as the houses where these 7 fall in your chart.
Since it is a See Saw pattern, stay centered, and try not to get lost in the margins even while exploring the outer limits of the field. If you find yourself seesawing between views or energies, try to find the way to mediate between opposing views by finding the third or fourth points that harmonize the opposites.
This time stabilizes creative vision and expression to demonstrate how we can productively consolidate a new inspiration as we move through cathartic revolutionary conditions. There is a great destabilization going on, and with balance, perspective, and self-mobilization we can find autonomous power and a vision of a higher dimension of self expression. Let go of cat and mouse games, people who make sophistical arguments, and ride through the karmic adjustments while curbing recklessness.
It's time to focus while breaking through unproductive density and inertias as we move into the new duties and responsibilities of Saturn in Libra. This is opening new energies in our Libra, Capricorn, and Aquarius sectors and releasing powerful Plutonian influences. It is a time of radical emergences and leaving behind old collective influences through significant life re-alignments that can give us higher, broader perspectives once we give up searching in old ways and places.
For astrologers, a final note regarding the aspects finds the Sun, ruler of the Moon, in separating favorable trine to Saturn, ruler of the Sun. This would imply that we have all come to a recent stability or understanding about the backdrop to the issues that will appear during the next two weeks.
Thus the rulers of the Sun and Moon both in Air signs work together to build a productive understanding despite oppositions. Just keep demonstrating an appropriate self control, and compartmentalize the various affairs of your life so you don't have to give up one thing you want just to get another. Get clear about what are wants and what are needs, and see if you can get the details of your life cooperating with each other.
As with the last several New Moons and Full Moons, this is the final phase of renewing the light of our "transpersonal" or spiritual Self. This will help us to see and feel a greater ideal of group work or form of collective service, and many will tune in to the collective consciousness in forms that express a "higher power." Intuition and idealism will be very high the next several weeks, as will the potential to transfigure your life and consciousness.
Continue to say goodbye to whatever is hindering your individuation or courage in focusing your energies to express your Higher Self. Through the light of Divine Magnetism, eliminate whatever you need to in order to set the pattern of regeneration, and express it through stable and creative forms of playful self expression.
The last New Moon helped us see the downward flow of subtle natural energies, and began the ending of old responsibilities, limitations, and obligations. This Full Moon stabilizes our creativity in new forms of personal power.
Those who open to a deeper wisdom these next two weeks will find new development rapidly occurring in late February through March. Since Jupiter is in Pisces, appreciation and gratitude will go a long way to healing whatever needs healing as we find new ways of seeing our experience and expressing compassion.
Spontaneous radiations of a greater faith will be in the air. Now is the time to integrate with kindred spirits while continuing to leave internal and external limiting factors behind.

"Now is the time to integrate with kindred spirits while continuing to leave internal and external limiting factors behind."
Especially agree with this last line. A group of kindred spirits is so powerful and will ensure that doors open, and remain open, for us. Same goes for the reverse.

Good news. I have resumed crying. So much to contend with, with bio unit members, etc down for a very very long time. Had to play the strong one. I lost the ability to cry. I don't feel sad. It is just a great stress releaser. Totally irrational, like it's just a physical function. It works. I forgot. Catharticism without the parsing as to why, like there is something wrong, when there isn't.
Great full moon write for a great moon hanging out with a very visible Mars. I love following that guy home after a long day. Visible even with the bright lights along the highway.

Thanks Roberts for sharing info. This FM might deeply relate to the August FM - Eclipse in leo-Aquarius 2009.
While following your article, there is certain dispositions when it comes to a range of degree in each house as I see you mentioned '..mid- third degree deals with social levels of life...creative.' and in the other article I often saw that you specified spiritual disposition of certain degree as well. Could you make a clear note about overall degree? Little mixed up at this point.
It is another story. When Saturn in Libra around 1980 I got a major scar on my face-Me, the Ultimate Libran with Lilith conjunction and Pluto at the entrance. This libran Saturn came on Oct 2009, I have had hard time dealing with allergy esp., around my face. My skin became so sensitized since August 2009. Do you see any connection with the Libran Saturn? Kind of interesting and put me in thought of what makes the difference btw 1980's Libran Saturn and 2009's onward.
Also, If you share about Lilith related information, I would be appreciate. Me, a girl. Lilith conjunction with my multiple planets sounds not pleasant..at all --; would like to get the fact right about lilith in a more deeper level..
My appreciation for all.

....the vision of a fuse ignighted....rapidly traveling to its destination.... the impending, inevitable,
...knowing it is necessary.
Surrender....
a snake's eyes clouding over, new vision approaching....
.... slithering forward, leaving behind.... the old skin.
a catapillar weaving a cocoon, surrendering to the darkness...
catharsis...
knowing instinctively....that the dark will bring the light...
and a new "expression"...

Hi shakti - You're most welcome. Glad you decided to comment. Thanks for the attitude of gratitude.
Hi GG - Some Full Moons are like that! Blessings all 'round.....
Hi Samantha - By all means! Meditations for peace are always good. If anyone might benefit from the info and community, then please introduce them to this cosmic cantina/pizzaria!
Hi Jones - Glad you enjoyed it. 'Round these parts we try to keep it interesting!
Hi WarriorLady - In community we learn and achieve things we never imagine in our perceived separateness.
Hi Morvah - This place can be a place of immense truth, goodness, and beauty when we generate any of these. Sometimes the beauty of the natural world is stunning!
Hi Morlokk - Yes, the Year of the Metal Tiger will unleash much that needs to be "tempered" into shape. We have entered the acceleration period where again the centrifuge will spin off the next batch of impure compounds. And yes, we are all truly learning the truth in the immortal words of Dr. Franklin that we all hang together or else we shall all hang separately. "Hot town, Summer in the city..."
Hi Aditya - The Jupiter return is an important point marking the end of an old quest and the beginning of a new one. The Vedas supposedly say it is a time when the Magic of one's life can renew itself for 12 years. Perhaps it marks a closure on old sorrows and motives while embracing a greater wisdom-compassion within a sense of an all-enveloping Divine Mother energy? You may find a deeper sense of yourself as Divine Witness, along with a greater appreciation of the value of solitude. This helps you say goodbye to many things as you prepare to leap into the new this Summer!
Here's a good Jupiter in Pisces meditation: Imagine yourself as a leaf floating on the surface of the ocean of Divine Mother energy. Infinite sky and depth are all around while you gently float, securely held on Her lap. Feel the unity with All-That-Is.
Hi caliban - Tears serve many useful functions. And research has found that tears are composed differently depending on what motivates them. Glad you found your way to another element of natural human-ness!
Hi ev - Yes, all lunations are related to other lunations along the same sign axis. What you ask about is actually a subject for an entire class, since it deals with how different degree spans relate to each other. Generally, the first third is physical or actional, the second third is emotional, social, or cultural, and the third third is individual, mental, or spiritual. These are not set in stone in the sense that all third decans may or may not be indicative of a spiritual nature. There are too many more ways to approach the parts of any whole to go into here. It's a huge field of study.
All skin maladies involve Saturn, since Saturn rules the skin and bones in a chart. I don't use Lilith in my work, since I have never read anything that attributes good qualities to Lilith. Since I do not accept that any astrological thing is bad per se, I ignore unproven assumptions that attribute ill to a thing. Perhaps when something productive and useful is offered connected to the myth and symbolism, then I'll consider its merits.
Hi Wild horse running - I do believe surrender has been the theme of the North Node of late. The butterfly began to emerge from its chrysalis in January, and by March 1 it will be done. Catharsis is Uranus precipitating individuality by purifying the personality. Sounds like you're reading the patterns fairly accurately.
