Part 1 covered many essential elements of this Virgo New Moon. Today we'll discuss significant aspects, degree symbols, and other important factors in this month's Lunation chart which show us a skillful and enjoyable freedom of expression, as well as beauty and healing in practical forms.
Since the past two New Moons were both Solar Eclipses, it's safe to say many things across the world are shutting down, especially those things connected to Gemini and Cancer energy forms. We've been challenged to a more authentic expression as we've shut down old limitations, roles, and duties.
If we did our purifications, the past 4 weeks have offered us new vision, new creativity, new playfulness, a new sense of adventure, and hints of our immortal Self. The next 4 weeks will bring us opportunities to demonstrate simple and practical skills within situations that are going up and down, around and around.
This Lunation, coupled with the inner planets, stretches out the spans occupied by planets so that the outer planet span between Pluto in Capricorn and Jupiter in Taurus now includes Cancer, Leo, and Virgo. This has closed the gap between Saturn and the others so that like last month, we are living within what is called a "Splay" Jones pattern, with 8 of the 12 signs with a planets in it. This span shows us where the outer emphasis is in our lives, and what we're experiencing in our worldly realm.
The Splay usually has a triangle pattern inside of it, and this one features the Grand Earth Trine of Sun, Moon, and Venus in Virgo, Jupiter in Taurus, and Pluto in Capricorn. This will show as a very harmonized practical energy between our feelings, life, and relationships (Moon, Sun, Venus), higher mind (Jupiter), and the ongoing Transformative seed power of Pluto.
This trine should help us weave stability, harmony, and understanding wherever we have the early degrees of the Earth and Water signs in our charts, especially through seeing the seeds of long range stability in finances and values. We shall spot the seeds to nurture, as well as how to characterize people and situations by seeing their salient features. We shall definitely all be given a chance to know what is true vs what is not by knowing subtleties and the place and function of every detail calling our attention.
In June and July the Solar Eclipses extended the span of signs occupied by the outer planets through Gemini and Cancer. So the occupied span stretched from Capricorn to Cancer, with Saturn in Libra as the nozzle for that pattern, which is termed a "Bucket." I've written a lot on it throughout past articles, so please check them out to know more.
Now, and for many months into the future, we will have either a Splay, See-Saw, or Locomotive configuration, depending on the positions of the inner planets and the Moon. That means Saturn will no longer be the nozzle focusing all the other planetary energies until Spring 2013, when the spans will be wide enough again for Saturn to become the nozzle. However, since it will be in Scorpio, we are now done with Saturn in Libra being the energy focusing all the other planetary energies.
It is useful to think of this as a time when all our experience begins with a Pluto in Capricorn type of energy, proceeds through Neptune in Aquarius and Chiron in Pisces, awakening into a Uranus in Aries experience, and then solidifies and envisions through Jupiter in early Taurus. This pattern will hold until Jupiter moves into Gemini.
At this time, the inner planets in Cancer, Leo, and Virgo show our experience proceeds through its ultimate closure via the Saturn in Libra lens, helping us complete the Capricorn through Taurus span of understanding and stabilization.
So the houses where we have Capricorn through Libra in our charts are active, with mid-Cancer, mid-Leo, and early Virgo also heavily accented due to the inner planets. The general theme is that we have finished what needs finishing to adjust to entering a new power and efficiency. This has brought us clarity despite the gear grinds over the last 4 weeks.
This has offered opportunities to live a more mature and structured peace in our lives, or being at peace, we could find a new spiritual authorship with profound depth knowledge of the seeds of future situations. We now can refine what needs adjusting to stabilize this peace, spiritual authorship, and harmonized clarity about the seeds of what is, and what could be.
Remember that in reading a Lunation chart (as well as a horary, inceptional, electional, or any event chart) the forming aspects show things to come, while separating aspects show things already past. This New Moon and the inner planets in Cancer, Leo, and Virgo make several very important forming aspects.
The Moon in this Lunation makes a forming conjunction with Venus, re-triggering the recent septile to Mars and triseptile to Uranus, with Mars biseptile Uranus. This triggered some important revolutionary decisions and actions in our lives. As the Sun is also involved, it too joins this revolutionary "fork in the road of destiny" decision-making party!
Add that the Lunation and Venus all trine Jupiter, and we find stabilization of those expansive energies which have been revealing what we care about and what we need to nurture over the coming months. This is assisted by the events of the past few weeks, when we've been learning how to be friendly, detached, purify outmoded things, find a greater way to serve while keeping the initiative in our own hands, and find new modes of self-expression.
Other themes we've been riding into this time of stabilization and understanding simple practical realities include finding cooperation without sacrificing our freedom to act, integrating our feelings with outer interests, not getting too spread out, pay attention to details, and not allow important matters to slip, whether from pride, neglect, insecurity, nitpicky attitudes, put downs, lack of clarity about roles, or settling for lesser rewards when greater ones are at stake.
In August we've seen the end of old "drags on our line," and had to learn how to make basic personal decisions to integrate our sensitivities with our more important responsibilities to ourselves, our Souls, and our Truth-of-Being. Now we get elementary practical opportunities to show our unique skills with artistry and without concern over socially inhibiting factors.
Other important forming aspects made by the innermost planets include opposition Neptune and sesquisquare Pluto, Venus (as described above) is under a "translation of light" by the Moon putting the septile to Mars and triseptile to Uranus back in play and of course is also trine Jupiter, and Mars is again biseptile Uranus due to the Moon.
Jupiter is one degree off an exact quintile to Neptune and about to begin trining Pluto again once it goes retrograde on August 30. As Jupiter doesn't quite make an exact quintile to Neptune, it shows as a threshold state where we can cultivate unique qualities of imagination and intuition related to opportunities and ability to sense subtleties in collective consciousness.
Most stimulated are those with points around 29 Aquarius-1 Pisces, 11-13 Taurus, 23-25 Cancer, 5-7 Libra, and 17-19 Sagittarius. Birthdays where the light of uniqueness may be seen include early May, mid-July, late September, and mid-December.
These impressions will bear huge rewards and important gifts in late March through mid-April 2012 when Jupiter makes an exact quintile to Neptune, fulfilling the promise of this Lunation. As both planets advance by that time, those most stimulated in unique ways or offered highly specialized circumstances in which to practice their gifts are those with planets or points near 2-4 Pisces, 14-16 Taurus, 26-28 Cancer, 8-10 Libra, 29 Sagittarius-1 Capricorn, and birthdays around late February, early May, mid July, early October, and late December.
I've described the Grand Earth trine earlier, which of course will be a great stabilizer and harmonizer involving areas in our charts with planets or important points in Aries, Taurus, Cancer, Leo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, and Pisces. We'll see these stabilize through events involving the houses where Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn fall in our natal chart.
This will be a very favorable influence for all born the end of February, end of April, end of June, end of August, end of October, and end of December. With so many other favorable aspects among the planets, all in all the next 4 weeks should be very expansive, creative, associative, and give us opportunities to express our artistic tendencies in practical situations.
Uranus square Pluto is still a major influence, but as Pluto is harmonized by very favorable trines, at least there will be no misunderstanding about the what, why, and how of things. And it's entirely possible that as very harmonious Pluto spiritual transformational energies are set into motion, we can turn away from, or efficiently utilize, the very intense and volatile energies of the square.
Remember that a trine facilitates flow, for good or bad. A square releases energies, whether through putting the brakes on something or turning a corner. In this case we understand, build, and stabilize through Pluto, and release through Uranus showing us the way to individuation, repotentialization, and a new Divine initiative in our lives. Just consider if the risk is worth the reward, and if so, find your unique ways to do what you have to do using your Fiery or Scintillating Intelligence in Its creative aspect.
Jupiter trine Pluto in this chart (and all year) shows a practical stability as we go deeper into unknown zones, core understanding, and profound insights into seed forms and structures. This will assist our practical imagination, our power to demonstrate skills in repetitive situations, and put the down times to good use. It's also a great time for purification to stabilize our inner and outer resources.
This will prove extraordinarily productive for those born late in the above-mentioned months. Also affected through unique circumstances and specialized abilities and situations are those born mid-January, mid-February, early March, mid-April, early and late May, mid-July, early and late August, mid and late September, mid-October, and early and late December.
Saturn is now direct and moving out of range to the opposition to Uranus and square to Pluto. While I'm sure it's a great relief to all, we're still learning to navigate the years' long global upheaval indicated by Uranus square Pluto mentioned earlier.
The separating aspects show reality already experienced, or things already set into motion. The Lunation is separating novile to Saturn, opposition to Neptune, and trine to Pluto. Mercury is separating sextile to Saturn and sesquisquare to Uranus, Venus conjunct Sun and trine Pluto, Mars sextile Jupiter, square Saturn, and sesquisquare Neptune, Saturn sesquisquare Neptune, and temporarily, Uranus square Pluto.
Taken together, these indicate a recent period of simultaneous high productivity with gear grinding. We got a form of thorough and practical understanding of what and who had to be eliminated after a period of waiting. We also experienced numerous forms of irritation that were annoying but not productive of crises.
Of note is Jupiter triseptile is now officially separating, though the aspect is 154 degrees 31 minutes, still within 14 minutes longitude of exact. This indicates we're in the heart of the choices and changes this aspect indicates, in life areas where transiting Jupiter and Saturn occupy in our charts. You can find more by going to the article linked at the bottom of this post.
The waves of activity set into motion between the first Mercury conjunct Jupiter in mid-March through the final Venus and Mercury conjunct Jupiter on May 11-12 continue to take solid shape in sustainable ways, with long term expansions to come during the last half of 2011 and first few months of 2012.
A New Moon sets the seed forms for what the following 4 weeks will demonstrate. This New Moon falls at 6 Virgo, "A merry-go-round." While I've given you a sense of this degree up to now, this is where we go into depth.
According to Rudhyar this degree is one of "unfearing plunge into life," and "the culture of pleasure as a transmuting force." He goes on to state that this degree could also involved "endless and futile repetition of experience."
More objectively, he says the keynote is "the first experience of the dynamic intensity of life processes and of the possibility of using them to reach a characteristic ego-satisfaction." He says the merry-go-round symbolizes the ups and downs of the emotional life, and the round and round motion symbolizes the recurring patterns in our world of outer affairs. This symbol is said to show us that "any cyclic release of life energy provides us with the opportunity of demonstrating some type of skill and mastery."
This is an initiating degree where we begin to see that recurring points in life experience offer us chances to show skill to "win a prize or a free ride," to extend the symbolism.
Rudhyar says it falls in the span of Idealization, the Process of Individualization, Act of Stabilization, and the Scene of Characterization on the Emotional-Cultural level.
According to Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, we find this degree symbolizes "a cyclic and necessary intensification of any personal being," where "pleasure is the simplest possible form of creative exchange, and it always encourages and refines" our individual "range of potential."
He states "here is a receptiveness to every turn of opportunity" and a "willingness to attempt its demonstration." He offers us the keyword DIVERSION, and says that when positive, this degree "is endless and happy resourcefulness in a constant reorientation of self to meet varying exigencies of life."
So over the next 4 weeks this Lunation will help us show skills that will help us understand and/or stabilize some repetitive situation we have to deal with from time to time. We may find forms of pleasure that help us become more happy and resourceful in new situations that are somehow familiar.
Over the past 13 weeks we've done our battles, showing us our independence and freedom from an old fate so we can participate in more important things. At best we cut our losses and let go of profitless efforts, people, and activities that just wasted our time. Many meltdowns so that new forms could present themselves, and as I noted last month, our Soul modified its self-expression through decisions where we mobilized our ambition according to our own standards.
Of the planets that rule signs, there are 5 in Earth, 2 planets in Fire signs, 2 in Air, and 1 in Water. This preponderance of Earth indicates a lot of grounded activity, practical follow up work, and decisions that keep everything on track in the world.
Fire (inspiration) and Air (relational and interactive) are well balanced, showing we can find inspired ideas and relationships during this time. The insufficiency of Water indicates that feelings are both lacking and reactive. So find ways to be as sympathetic and caring as possible as you use inspired ideas to ground practical activity.
Pluto in Capricorn continues to teach us deep lessons about practical, organized economy of energy and efficiency in sprouting seed forms of the new "laws of our lives" we can relax into. Since Spring we've been learning about a new role we can enjoy playing, and now that Pluto is on its stationary direct degree, preparing to go direct in motion September 16-17, we get to begin an all out mobilization to assert that role on our own terms.
As discussed earlier, through the harmonious trine from Jupiter these next 7+ months keeping the Earth energies well stabilized, we can safely purify what needs purifying and be leaner and more solidly able to rely on our material and non-material resources. Pluto now allows us to release the potential and ride the waves of the new archetypal roles we began to live in 2009-2010, using gentle and balanced forms of will power, training, maturity, and sense of our new roles to play to move into new vistas, new worlds, new lives, and new ways of doing our Being.
The next 4 weeks is a time to refine and work with what's left now that we've let go of the past in practical steady ways the past 13 weeks. Thanks to the recent Solar Eclipses, we are still being liberated from the ghosts of the past and letting go of burdens we no longer need to bear.
Having found at least some of what we've been looking for and opened to new ways of doing our Being, we can be more natural in our search for deeper insights into meaning and processes as we reach out to new and more complex vistas of potential interactions.
Due to the Jupiter in Taurus influence that will be with us for about a year, keep finding gentle, simple, and stable ways to move into your new life while becoming part of the "corrective force of Nature Herself." In practicing our unique individuality we can become the answer to some collective need, whether large or small. This is the time to define who you are apart from any inner or outer neutralizing factors that keep you from awakening to your uniqueness.
Due to recent larger influences, we continue to have chances to adjust our perspective and become more natural and joyous. Over the past several weeks we've all gotten at least one new look at old ideas and ways of coordinating our lives on our terms. We now can have more confidence in simply "being ourselves" as we allow the ageless Divine Wisdom to act through us, and can leave behind old ideas and memories that kept us split internally.
This period is showing us the baseline platform for the further extension into our emergent archetypes that demonstrate our authentic self. We saw the emergence of concrete forms of those images from August 2010 to January 2011, and now that we've done the review related to past and present actions creating present and future consequences, we're moving into the next phase of our quest. Repetitive patterns show us wisdom, skill, and the way to "transpersonal peace in action."
Here we continue to secure conditions, values, and resources while doing more practical work regarding the on-going fork in the road between our past and future relationships, truths, philosophies, and our understanding of core principles regarding the use of power and how primal patterns replicate themselves. As with June's Eclipses, here we can continue to find a sense of balanced peacefulness by knowing what is no longer a part of our life, and liquidating whatever parts of our past would hinder our entrance into new realms of development.
This is a time to think, gather and share information, and use a new vision to make practical decisions and do actions that demonstrate our artistry or balanced perspective, elegance, or values. After we think and envision, then decide and act, it's most important to go to our feelings about those decisions and actions.
What are we experiencing as a result of those decisions and actions? Knowing how and what we feel about recent actions will help us naturally flow into new ideas, new perspective, and a new vision of what we are to accomplish.
We have now cleared the decks and continued to secure what we need to establish future potentials already in motion. There are sweet and elegant expressions and great opportunities to enjoy ourselves promised by this New Moon, all of which will show us how to concretize in functional forms the new beginnings of March through May 2011. Open to trying skillful expressions to "win the prize" as you continue to embrace your greater quest, greater adventure, greater Truths, and be discriminating in how you ground these in practical ways.
All in all, a very favorable Lunation for most. Take a look back at how recent "liberating ordeals" have brought up a deeper compassion from within you so you could find more natural and joyous ways to release and demonstrate your heart strengths. We are now learning a new freedom of expression and association, so enjoy the growth, enjoy the occasional challenges, open to the beauty, and open to the healing.
Here's the article on the Jupiter triseptile that's been in full force for two months and will be back in late April and early May of 2012.
