This is an interesting time, since the Sun is now trine Saturn from Aquarius to Libra, and will slip into Pisces in a few hours when it conjuncts Neptune. What does this mean and why is it profoundly important?
The Sun in the last degree of Aquarius shows that we’ve just come through 24 hours of the transformational energies of 29 Aquarius, “the butterfly emerging from its chrysalis,” the degree of Neptune’s station a few weeks ago. The Sun vitalizes and illuminates whatever it touches. That means that humanity now is empowered to finish its critical period of metamorphosis, or “see the light” of why we have all had to go through a complete transformation of our lives the past 10 years.
Uranus awakened this long wave metamorphosis in humanity beginning May 2002 when it went stationary retrograde at 29 Aquarius. After moving back and forth across the last degrees of Aquarius and the first degrees of Pisces, it then went stationary direct on that degree November 2003. That awakening set many revolutions into motion in our world, individually and collectively.
Jupiter then expanded and enlarged the “pulse of awakening” into personal and collective philosophies and belief systems when it crossed 29 Aquarius in January 2010. This was immediately followed by Neptune going stationary retrograde on that degree in May 2010, moving this Aquarian transformational energy into the collective unconscious in a vast tide of feeling-awareness. This set many widespread patterns of metamorphosis into motion, which is what we’ve all been feeling on the deepest of levels for the past two years.
Now that Neptune has moved into Pisces, not returning to Aquarius until March 2161, these long wave Aquarian patterns are no longer being formed; they will now be set as patterns in collective consciousness that will be triggered various times by various transits. The Sun’s transit over this degree in recent hours powered up the transformational energies of 29 Aquarius, and now trines Saturn at 30 Aquarius, the degree of conscious unity within the larger Light Field that we all are together.
So the Sun is now powering up the understanding and stability shown by the recent Saturn in Libra trine Neptune in Aquarius that was strong from early December through early February just past. This trine opened us to a new set of standards, a new “perfect measure” to aspire to in the future, as I’ve explained in previous New and Full Moon articles. At least some of these important Aquarian patterns of understanding and stability can become clear at this time.
When the Sun slips into Pisces today, February 18, at 10:18 pm PST, February 19 at 1:18 am EST, 6:18 am Greenwich, it will conjunct Neptune at 1 Pisces. As you know from my Lunation articles, this span of 29 Aquarius through 1 Pisces is what I have termed “the cusp of the Age,” in that it is the span where the Age of Pisces interfaces with the Age of Aquarius. I will again elaborate on this concept in the New Moon articles to come in 2 days focusing on the New Moon at 3 Pisces occurring on February 21, 2:35 pm PST, 5:35 pm EST, 10:35 pm Greenwich.
Given that 1 Pisces is where we are at right now during the end of the Age of Pisces, taking a closer look at the meaning of 1 Pisces may help give you a sense of what we’ve been dealing with in a larger evolutionary sense since the 1980s. And of course, the Sun conjunct Neptune sets a whole new year of Neptunian energies into motion, so it’s an important cycle unto itself, like the Sun-Pluto and Sun-Uranus cycles. These set Transpersonal-Spiritual energy patterns that play out across humanity over the year that follows.
So consider this weekend a point in time when you can get hints, glimpses, and intuitive flashes of the larger evolutionary point of human awareness, as it has been and continues to be at this end of the Piscean Age, as well as a sense of what is to come beginning the last half of this century into the next as humanity moves into the Age of Aquarius. This time illuminates the area of reality where the old Age gives way to the new.
