This Full Moon at 8 Libra-Aries opens two weeks of new initiatives, breakthrough developments, and a lot of good opportunities through learning how to operate a multiple levels and cooperating with our invisible helpers. Be open to a new enthusiasm, since your honesty has brought you to a point of knowing what’s noble and what’s not, what’s loving and what’s not at this dawning of a new day. Get ready, since there’s a lot of work to be done!
As most of you already know, forming aspects show things to come, while separating aspects show things already in the past. This Full Moon has quite a few frictional forming aspects at work, showing a lot of agitation, awareness, seriousness of focus, and heavy realizations about what we care about and what we don’t.
The chart shows Moon opposed Mercury, sesquisquare Venus, sesquisquare Mars, and quadranovile Saturn, while the Sun shows a semisquare to Mars, novile from Venus, and trine to Jupiter. While this creates internal crises as the end of the current Sun-Mars cycle closes over the next few months, the trine to Jupiter promises that we can cut loose and pursue some idea, some relationship, some new beginning with enthusiasm since we know what fuels our fire!
It’s important to note that Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. This particular Lunation makes one very important configuration, a Kite with the Moon in a double sesquisquare with the close but separating Venus square Mars. This will release a LOT of energy through the Moon as the focus and form builder of what was just released by the power of that square.
Venus rules the Sun, Mercury, and Saturn in this chart, making it more powerful than usual. As Venus is in Leo, it is disposed of by the Sun, putting these two in Mutual Reception. You can find out more about this phenomenon that strengthens each of the two planets by going to the article Astrology Class – What Is A Dispositor and What Is Mutual Reception Between Two Planets?
The Kite will activate the degree spans around 25-28 Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius, as well as 10-13 Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn. Expect some significant shifts in the area represented by the planets or points you have there, with the need to move out of subjective shock or fear, or not let agitation or getting annoyed throw you off your game.
This “Kite” should mobilize many inner and outer things, focused by wherever this Moon falls in our charts. The need will be to be receptive to spiritual energies, see which way the winds of destiny are blowing, open to a greater hope, spontaneity, enthusiasm, and calm confidence, and be open to the shades of ideas to make your understanding more well-rounded.
This period requires us to be more open in our understanding to new ideas, new visions, and new ways of figuring what matters and what doesn’t. You can find more about the recent Venus square Mars and what is being expressed by going to Astrology Stress Zones in Late September 2012 – Venus in Leo Square Mars in Scorpio. Even though the aspect is separating in this chart, the Moon is re-triggering it to some extent, but from a different set of points, and thus symbols.
Other forming aspects are a mixed bag. We see Mercury conjunct Saturn and quintile Pluto, Venus quintile Jupiter, sextile Saturn, and in an out of sign opposition with Neptune. Out of sign aspects show some condition must pass before those are in play.
Besides these aspects, Mars is quadranovile Jupiter, square Neptune (out of sign), and novile Pluto, Jupiter is sesquisquare Saturn and quintile Uranus, Saturn is triseptile Uranus, trine Neptune, and sextile Pluto (both out of sign).
The quintiles show unique qualities and gifts, or highly specialized conditions that help us polish our skills and make them uniquely our own. The novile series aspects indicate spiritual realizations, or a time of gestation, or something coming out of a period of gestation into a greater realized state of being.
Perhaps the most important aspect is Saturn triseptile Uranus, indicating a critical turning point in a larger destiny wherever these occupy our charts. One represents the ongoing revolution of our times, the other represents the ability to structure these revolutionary or individualizing elements into coherent form. This aspect is the last in the sequence that began in November-December 2011 (Saturn 24-27 Libra to Uranus at 1 Aries) and gave us a second look at this cooperative, non-rational, “fork in the road” influence in February-March 2012 (Saturn at 30 Libra to Uranus at 3-5 Aries).
This third pass is special in that it is now somewhat wide and forming (from 30 Libra to 7 Aries), and will be a heavy influence for the next month as Saturn slips into Scorpio and makes the exact triseptile in mid-October. Degree spans most impacted involve 30 Libra-4 Scorpio, 22-26 Sagittarius, 13-15 Aquarius, 5-9 Aries, 26-30 Taurus, 18-22 Cancer, and 9-13 Virgo. If you have a planet or sensitive point in any of these spans, you will confront decisive moments and important decisions over the next few weeks.
In some ways these are natural developments from events and decisions that originated between late 2004 and late 2006. These expanded into opportunities, openings, or truths in early 2009, early 2011, and Spring 2012. Now we complete the sequence of choices, and can move forward into appropriate structures for our emergent individuality.
So Just What Was the New Moon Theme for this Period?
Remember that the qualities of the Full Moon express whatever new directions we were shown at the previous New Moon. You will recall its theme is being educated in some social-emotional way, and finding a fresh view of things outside of “social intellectual preoccupations.” We are being shown the power of the Ageless Wisdom as it’s been cooking in our lives for a while, leading us to new understandings based in our patience, work, and persistence. Honesty is in the forefront, whether as a lesson to learn, something to acknowledge, or a quality to express.
From the article:
This New Moon in Virgo is practical and distributive, and puts the Grand Irrationality into motion due to the Lunation septile Mars, triseptile Neptune, and biseptile Pluto. Destiny is in motion for everyone!! Expect critical decisions at forks in the road, and though things seem hard-edged and weird, take time to see recurring patterns that may not make sense when taken alone, but show larger forces at work when seen in relationship with other recurring patterns. The next four weeks will throw everyone into a) new directions, b) old directions that need cleaning up before entering a new life, or c) a combination of the two. There will be a hard edge to much of what comes down the next month, so be practical as you stand on the threshold of living a new law of your life that you’ve been rehearsing for about a year and a half.
Be honest with yourself without excessive self-criticism. Make adjustments as needed, get organized and energetic, and open your mind so you can be receptive to a more natural life or way of dealing with nature forces. This time we can step back from disingenuous thinking and communicating, and find a more innocent and natural way of seeing, thinking, understanding, and speaking.
This time gives us a chance to play with ideas and perspectives creatively, and remember what is significant to us in our society and culture while also realizing what is inadequate in our approach. Old ideas will not be useful to confirm new conditions, and periods of solitude can open us to new inspirations. Ultimately this period is teaching us about how well we’re managing our life energies through concrete actions, and showing us to let go of arguments that go everywhere and nowhere.
Here’s more:
... This New Moon at 24 Virgo, like other recent Lunations, puts the focus on learning, communicating, discovering, and perceiving new ideas and ways of relating to others due to Jupiter being in Gemini and Mercury strong in its home sign of Virgo with the Moon making a conjunction to Mercury. Much that we focus on during the next 4 weeks will help us to a more practical functioning while showing us the innocence in our nature, or how we have allowed glamor to seduce us. This Lunation will bring echoes of Saturn in Virgo lessons we learned in Sept-Oct 2009, and again April-July 2010.... The next 4 weeks are a time to get new ideas, new perspectives, and new visions that can help us come out of any sense of isolation or alone-ness and find new ways to express our warmth of feeling. The very favorable Venus sextile Jupiter and quintile to Saturn offer productive relationships that will help us in unique ways while strengthening our hearts and clarifying core patterns we value, as well as offering originality and creativity.
... The symbol is “Mary and her white lamb.” According to Rudhyar, this degree is one of “Freshness of viewpoint uninhibited by social intellectual preoccupations,” “Vibrant simplicity,” and “Spirit-born imagination.”
In the Astrological Mandala, he says this degree involves “The need to keep a vibrant and pure simplicity a the core of one’s being as one meets the many tests of existence.” He states that the only true achievement of our Destiny will involve “a pure, spontaneous, fresh and nonviolent approach to all encounters” that keeps us innocent. This is where we can step back from glamor, struggle, and ego dramas, and learn to “radiate innocence.”
He says that this degree is a technique for finding or recovering our innocence, and that innocence is an integral part of any true self-realization. He says it falls in the span of "Experimentation,” and it’s the fourth degree of the emotional-cultural level of the scene of Consolidation in the Act of Education.
According to Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, the degree is one of “that fullness of life which comes through a cherishing of young ideas,” where we adults can get clues about our potential through healthy approaches involving a child-like expectation. He states we must “take this with us in a very conscious way” so we don’t find ourselves “divided within… and defeated by our own confusion.”
He offers us the keyword of ARTLESSNESS. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree is "a highly ingenuous creativity by which an individual is able to make all contact with others a worth-while relationship of self.”
So we enter a time of finding and demonstrating our innocence, where we can step back from old ideas, criticisms, analyses, and sense of what is perfect and what isn’t, and learn to see the world and our potential with new eyes and a new sense of what’s possible. Here simplicity is favored, as is imagination and letting go of fears, worries, and judgments.
The planets in this chart are again in a Splay Jones pattern with elements of the See Saw. This "Splay" Jones Patterns indicates a widely spread out experience, with many strong involvements in areas that may not have that much in common.
The oppositions defining the See Saw influence show polarization and awareness, with occasional head-butting that can be resolved through positive Jupiter in Gemini actions. Just stay centered amidst the opposing trends, and see the bigger picture while not getting distracted by peripherals.
With 4 planets in Air, 3 in Fire, 2 in Water, and 1 in Earth, we have a heavy emphasis on ideas, ideals, relationships and interactions, as well as inspiration and a “fired up” feeling. Find what practicality you can inside you, since it’s not emphasized these next two weeks.
Venus leads the Sun in this Lunation. That makes the area in our charts where we have Leo of extra importance, since it promises stable and inspired social feelings and interactions, and makes people more important these next two weeks.
It shows that this period should be creative, heartfelt, and begins a new era of productive actions and interactions. As the Sun and Venus are in mutual reception and in a novile aspect, a spiritual influence will predominate, with many things that have been cooking up to now making an appearance on the stage of life.
More on how Uranus Square Pluto Is Ramping Up Radical Energies!
As I’ve told you, we’re all learning to manage the “out of control” energies of Uranus square Pluto. I’ve discussed this aspect at length over quite a few articles in the archives. Use the site google box to find out more about this years’ long disruptive revolutionary influence. Welcome to the 21st century of upheaval, transformation, and titanic collisions between a new world being born and an old age that’s digging in even as it’s dying.
That square represents the ongoing revolution of our times, with innovations and pioneering energies in conflict with restrictive and controlling power structures. We’ll be dealing with this for a few years, and it promises to make this year and next very “electric and eclectic,” moving the world through a revolution unlike any seen since the 1960s!!
Uranus is on a degree of being receptive to spiritualizing influences while appreciation the protective forms that allow us to know the origin of those influences. We are in the next phase of learning how to concentrate to see the whole picture, showing us how to externalize our higher Self in new individual ways. It’s going to be the major theme for 2013, and given the aspects in play in this chart, there will be some adjustments to, and furthering of, recent productive understandings resulting from previous aspects in the New Moon chart governing this period.
Like previous Lunations, this one will continue to free us from old perspectives and views so we can see our part to play using more cosmic or universal truths and values. Here we settle into certain natural limitations so we can play the roles we’re born to play, and find happiness in refining our self-expression that furthers our knowing of how to express our individuality in new ways.
The Sun exactly triggering this Uranus square Pluto will show us the hope for some form of rebeginning, where we can sense the unseen spiritual agencies promising us a life renewal. We will be shown patterns to imitate, so that we can begin to participate in a greater or higher order of life, so be willing to grow, and if necessary, use one part of your life and experience to help you grow even further. Every sincere effort will be rewarded by Providence, and things will arise you could not have dreamed of before you made that effort.
In the recent past, we’ve all been challenged to learn to concentrate to align with a deeper and higher power, and now we can enjoy playing a new role and living in new ways. We are still being challenged to get beyond fear, see things from the past differently, and find relief through expressing the Higher Self that’s been “cut and polished” in past months. We can grow into a larger role when we’re confronted by old Pluto roles, coercions, and heavy-handed corrosive behavior. We can use this square in two big ways, both now and into the future.
We can exercise good Pluto function to put the brakes on negative Uranian manifestations, and good Uranus function to put the brakes on negative Pluto manifestations. Look to the harmonizing aspects to each to show which is building and which one is the release point for those energies. Given the Mars sextile Pluto, we can certainly “cut to the chase” and efficiency is up.
Separating aspects, showing things just past, include Moon quintile Jupiter, conjunct Uranus, and square Pluto, Mercury septile Venus and trine Jupiter, Venus square Mars, Sun opposition Uranus, biquintile Neptune and square Pluto, Jupiter biseptile Neptune, and Uranus square Pluto.
I can't possibly explain what these were all about, since there are too many planets in aspect to explore the possibilities. Just remember these symbolize things in the near past, so examine what's happened over the past weeks in light of these aspects.
In general this indicates that we’ve recently we’ve all revolutionized somehow, with new or unique developments presenting themselves showing us how to live life on multiple levels simultaneously and cooperate with our invisible helpers in order to have “unusual good luck.” We’ve gotten an understanding between our Higher and lower minds, moved through some fulfilling turning points in our relationships, shifted our sense of the larger picture and what we have to do, and overall changed directions in some major ways.
The Cusp of Where The Age of Pisces Gives Way to the Age of Aquarius
As I've mentioned in other Lunation articles, a major factor in this season is that Neptune now stands VERY close to "the cusp of the Age." It’s now moved forward from its stationary direct transformational degree of 29 Aquarius last November where we began to finish being collectively transfigured, and is now at 1 Pisces, the cusp of where the Age of Pisces gives way to the Age of Aquarius. We’re collectively there as a human race, and Neptune is showing us glimpses into the greater Way, Truth, and Life that we share together, expressed through the sign of compassion, forgiveness, and unity of feeling-awareness in the great “Ocean of Life.”
Neptune in very early Pisces has major implications for humanity as a whole. I’ve discussed this phenomenon of Neptune dancing back and forth between early Pisces and late Aquarius in previous articles, opening the collective consciousness to the energies of this transitional period, this “time cusp” between the Age of Pisces and the Age of Aquarius. This happened throughout 2011 into early 2012.
In the larger precessional Age, our world is at 1 Pisces right now. Thanks to prior transits of both Neptune and Chiron to this degree, many of us have collectively awakened to a vast connectedness with all Life and all Time. This degree is one of joyously rallying as we begin the closing of a long cycle. Fairness is paramount in all dealings, and with Saturn in Libra, the scales are weighing many things right now.
Dr. Marc Edmund Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, points out that the first degree of Pisces, "the cusp of the Age," is "a symbol of full maturity in (humanity's) social estate, with an emphasis on the group integrity" facilitating each to develop their special patterns. This degree is about a willingness for each of us to do our part in the larger "common ideals of a community life."
Here we refine our ambition through "a consistent generosity toward the aims of others with a real intensity of effort directed toward its own ends." The keyword is COMMERCE, and when positive, this degree "is an exceptional capacity for organizing the converging and conflicting interests of many people in practical arrangements of mutual benefit."
So this is where humanity as a whole is at right now. I believe we will finally enter the Age of Aquarius sometime between 2045-2070, when we all will see the concrete manifestations of Aquarian patterns that were awakened by Uranus and have been dreamed into collective consciousness by Neptune during these planets' movement through late Aquarius. (Please also check out part one of that series since it elaborates on the transition between the Age of Pisces and the Age of Aquarius.)
As I mentioned before, Venus rules the Sun in the Lunation, while Mars and Pluto rule the Moon. The interconnecting aspects between these three planets show recent challenges and culminations will lead us to a spiritual understanding after a short period of time passes, with a new day dawning requiring adaptability and efficiency as we embrace the new Law that’s restructuring everyone’s life.
Be creative in sharing what needs to be shared, grow into a deeper sense of the ONE that holds all things within It’s magnetic field, turn from the outer to the inner, and “pay allegiance” to the core principles that hold your life on tracks even as you commune with others who share your various Ray and sub-Ray frequencies. This is a great time to get focused, eliminating all that is irrelevant to your long term growth patterns. Or perhaps you can use the energy to regenerate in some way so that you “take command of the Great Work” and perfect your various physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual “vehicles” to express exactly what you’re here to do.
As a process of moving through events, first get clear about what you’re feeling and/or experiencing, and make decision and act accordingly. Then get new information or understanding so you can update your perceptual files. Pay attention to attachment to old interpretations, perception, and views, and get a new understanding or view of things.
Then name what you’re experiencing or feeling, and allow those impressions to lead you to decisions and actions based in those feeling experiences. Once you’ve decided and/or acted on those feelings, then allow new ideas, understanding, and vision of the whole of things to arise that will in time lead to the next set of feelings and experiences.
To sum up, this Lunation will help us find new beginnings, expressed in new wisdom forms. See what you’re dedicated to, and allow that it may involve living life on multiple levels simultaneously and finding fulfillment and happiness on all levels. Get clear about the values that life will recognize and reward in some consistent way, and when in doubt, let go of making excuses and just do it!
Cultivate social intuition, be wholehearted in pursuing the goals that truly matter to you, and find self-confidence in the midst of the chaos by remember your self-sufficiency, self-discipline, and deeper insights. Cultivate self-assurance, be a pioneer, and find the cause of philosophical anchor you need to stay on track with the unformed cacophony of conflicting energies that are turning our world around on a daily basis. Don’t waste energies tilting at windmills, and find those activities where your talents can be recognized as having special value or significance while cultivating your humanitarian instincts.
Relax into playing whatever roles seem natural on the basis of previous purifications and transformations. Be receptive to spiritual impressions that show you “which way the wind is blowing,” and imitate a better way when appropriate. See this as a time when you are free to begin anew based in whatever brought forth gratitude and appreciation before now.
This is a time to be creative in adapting your will to embrace new ideas. Be open to discovering new ways to view what you can and cannot do, and how you do what you do.
This continues a new freedom and adventure that will fill the void created by the Eclipses of 2011. This is the entry way to a life renewal, a greater hope, a deeper wisdom, and a total authenticity. This Lunation promises a rebeginning, so embrace a new adaptability and efficiency, and new opportunities of fulfilling the new law of your life you’ve been sensing since early 2011.
We’ve all gotten clear in the past 11 weeks about what forks in the road of destiny we need to take, and are now challenged to enjoy playing and expressing new perceptions and new ideas while finding a new perspective on how to embrace the work that accompanies the dawning of a new day. As with the past two months, do not equivocate or lose your balance as you leave old roles behind and move toward your new (if unrealized) heart strength. Since the process of self-transcendence continues to be front and center, embrace it with joy, creativity, the spirit of exploration, and see the adventure of discovery as teaching you that enlightenment is as much to be found in the body as in the mind.
To remind you, you cannot take the larger tensions, pressures, and friction personally. Though the larger atmosphere is tense and conflicted, it’s really only the play of invisible forces leading us all to new forms of individualization that will block old shadows of control mechanisms that are useless anyway.
As I’ve noted in previous Full Moon articles, since all shadows result from light hitting a dense object, it’s better to become as translucid as possible to dispel lurking shadows. And if you must look at the shadows, then refocus on the object being illuminated, since that’s the source of the shadow.
Find the correct 4 angles of illuminating whatever you want to focus on, and all shadows will be dispelled. Then you’re seeing things with an illuminated mind, and can act accordingly.

I'm feeling myself to be super-triggered right now. Emotional core wound... ouch! But starting to get a grip on it. Funny how the pain makes it seem like someone out there is doing the hurting, or doing something to me that is causing the hurt, when the truth is that I have this wound all the time, and in fact some event is just illuminating its presence so I can heal it. I can't heal it yet, that is, but I'm trying to make out what it is all about and not get swept up into blaming someone else for what is my own ancient baggage.

PS. Now that I think about it, in the past such triggering would have made me lash out in anger at the person I think is hurting me. It would be a lot more enlightened to thank him since he is giving me an opportunity to develop equanimity and compassion for my own deep self and old hurts that still live inside me.

My fiancé broke up with me last minutes before our wedding. Brokenhearted and lost. I was born in dec 16 1977.

Lee, wonderful post....
Im in the midst of "feeling my pain'...when in the past
I also would lash out in anger. I have Neptune in the first house, 7 scorpio...and abandonement issues.
I have been re-rejected, by my Father, who has done the same in the past,to me, to my Mother and the rest of the family, but like Lee...I finally get he is simply a trigger, for me to heal that issue within me. And the recent "kicking out, for speaking up'....is necessarry, so that I can feel that wound deeply, go into it, and embrace it
Thank you Lee, for your post, it helped me to see things in a different light.
