Today we offer a fantastic happy 50th birthday to one of the most genuine fake news guys on the air, the incomparable Jon Stewart. Master of the spontaneous giggle, his insights are remarkable in that he gets to the heart of any matter with a sense of the absurdity of modern life here on planet Earth and especially the theater of US politics. Anyone who can nail Bill Kristol and "Papa Bear" O'Reilly in a good natured way is patient, smart, and charming! To quote Jon, he's "nobody's monkey."
In 2007 I did a long bio of this very talented and funny guy who "goes Jersey" on people, matched only by Brian Williams of NBC who seems to be a great friend of Jon's. No wonder Brian's got more of a sense of humor than any other major news person on television! "So you're going to go Jersey on me...."
The 2007 birthday tribute gives you a bunch of his planetary positions. Jon is a double Sag, and he's even more of a force for culture, humor, and the rich and powerful not taking themselves seriously than he was last year. Since his ruler Jupiter is now in Gemini, he’s now launched a new multi-level style of self-expression, with something sure to break the surface in his life between February and May 2013 when Jupiter moves forward after it finishes opposing his Sun.
In November 2011 he turned 49. 49 in traditional Astrology is the "7th 7," aka the "Double Climacteric." That is a point in life when whatever we've been moving toward since our first Saturn return around 28-29 is done for good. At 49 we enter a transitional 7 year period, moving from the end of the old toward the beginning of a new era that begins at 56. Jon is now done with whatever he's been striving toward, and is now solidly in a new era in his life.
If you don't know who this remarkable anchor of "The Daily Show" on Comedy Central is, by all means when you're done reading this, go to Jon's bio and astrological planet positions in the 2007 Birthday tribute. Then, if you want some great laughs, go to the Daily Show video site to view some remarkable clips of the remarkable wit and self-deprecating good natured comedic genius of Jon Stewart. This is one of the few shows on television that is worth the watch, and perhaps the sanest and quickest way to get into the social and political news of the day.
A huge happy birthday to you, Jon Stewart. You're a tonic for America's generic obsessions and compulsions. May you be around for a long, long time. Smart, witty, with a sense of the ironic in modern America - what's not to like? Gotta love it......

ps. - Today is the birthday of another very funny guy, the remarkable musical satirist Randy Newman. I can't do an entire tribute this year, but for now, here are a few great ones! From the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1984, "Political Science" and "I Love L.A."
For a great performance, here's Randy live in 2002 at the Lakers' "3 peat" celebration at the Hollywood Bowl of "I Love L.A."
With Ry Cooder and Linda Ronstadt in a live 1983 performance of Randy's "Rider in the Rain."
From 1979 with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Randy live on the piano doing "Rednecks." From the same show, "Lonely At The Top." We'll close this three song set from the Netherlands with God's Song."
We'll close this brief birthday tribute to Randy with a long audio-only version of what may be his most well-known song, the theme from "Monk," "It's A Jungle Out There."

At the end of a rough day, watching Jon Stewart just make the day right.
Love him and your articles!
