Today is a wander through some reflections. As most who come here know, I consider the Solstice the “true” beginning of the year, at least in the Northern Hemisphere. Right now, however, at least a billion people around the world are celebrating this point in time as “Happy New Year.”

Ellas Otha Bates, aka Ellas McDaniel, was none other than the legendary Bo Diddley, the man who gave the world "the Bo Diddley beat" and influenced countless songwriters and performers. He would have been 84 today.
